Lucy's is the absolute best chicken place in Austin! Once you eat here plan on being 400 pounds because you'll come here every week for the rest of your life! Frank is one of the best servers here just keeps loading up with more food. My stomach loves him

Love their laid back patio when the weather is nice. The okra is always fantastic; it always seems bigger than other restaurants. The chicken was perfectly cooked, and the fries have light breading on them which I enjoy. They have a HH for brunch on Saturdays so we got $5 off our drinks. Drinks honestly were just okay, but worth the price. The service was fantastic.

I wanted to like this place. The ambience is really nice and it's a hip friendly place. I ordered two pieces of fried chicken, greens and fried okra. I gobble down the fried okra, which was really delicious, but I came to this place for fried chicken. I bought individual pieces because I wanted two sides. Thighs were $4.50 each, so $9 for two. While tasty, my complaint is they were burnt. For that price, I expect my fried chicken to be more on the golden than dark brown side.

This was a delivery and from one of their locations, College Avenue, that I've never been to nevertheless, my delivery arrived in a timely manner and the temperature of my chicken was perfect. I use to frequent the Burnet Road location but will definitely be visiting the College Avenue location and giving a more detailed review.

Ramshackle older place- lots of folks have obviously loved this place for many years, and I do too. Just a perfect vibe. Service was friendly and efficient without being "too much". We loved everything we tried- which included chicken tenders, turnip greens, cheese grits and Mexican Coke sweet potatoes. All were at the top of their game. Honestly, some of the best grits and greens I have ever had. As for the tenders, if you like crust these are good because they are thin, so you're getting a larger crust to chicken ratio. And they are just delicious. I prefer a more meaty tender, but I would eat these anytime. Topped it all off with a crisp Lone Star Light. I will be back to try more things on this menu.

Black bones and burnt skin? This was from the location on South Congress (filthy floor)... the food came out within one minute and food lukewarm. Total disaster. The service is so so...

Lucy's isn't the polished restaurant to which I've become accustomed. It's a step up from a food truck in a parking lot or perhaps the next best thing to eating in the wilderness...in a city! I have nothing against this aesthetic; for me it's was a surprise. The picnic table and bench seating was plentiful during my visit...however, I can imagine this place being a lot of fun and a great place to hang and meet people when it's packed. The service I received was great...was asked often how I was doing, etc. I love their menu...full of all the stuff I love to eat! I wish I had 5 stomachs! As it is I had to choose and narrowed it down to items that I don't see often. Like deep fried deviled eggs! So delicious! The only thing wrong is that you only get 4. Creole Okra, which is a spicy okra stew awesome...I could have a bowl full! I ordered the fried chicken basket...which come with drumstick, wing, thigh and breast...all on the bone...all delicious, moist, tender and well seasoned....did I mention all pieces were crispy! I didn't expect all the pieces to be juicy and moist from personal experience it's super easy to over cook a wing. I personally like a more battered chicken but Lucy's knows how to cook chicken. I enjoyed every morsel! Dessert was a tough choice! I could have had any of the choices but went with the "s'mores " pie, I love chocolate and this was the choice for me! Still wish I had more room in my stomach! lol What great food and a great experience!

I don't know. Just wasn't that great. Chicken was dry and mostly fried batter/skin. Fries were generic. Service was not the best but not the worst. Forgot my drink and the deviled eggs. Had to ask for them only to be told they were out of Big Red and that he forgot to put in the eggs order. Would have been fine with eggs but he still never lit them in even after being asked. Overall in a town with alot of chicken options, this one ranked low. I'll most likely not return.

It was quiet for a Friday night, which was great for us! Our server was so friendly and attentive, he was really great! I love the decor and the semi open patio feeling with antique signs everywhere. I could see where it could get loud but it was perfect for us!! Now to the core of what it's about...the fried chicken! It was so perfect but so was the fried catfish, the spicy chicken sliders, catfish sandwich and the fish and chips... and, I can't forget the collard greens, fried deviled eggs and the fried gizzards. Everything was incredibly great!!

This place is so good! There is a limited amount of indoor seating but plenty of outdoor seating. I really enjoyed the ambiance of the place and its decor. The service was good and super friendly. If you like fried chicken and fried food definitely come here! We ordered the fried picked, fried deviled eggs, cornbread, chicken and waffles, and chicken tenders. The breading used for all the fried food is just so good. I absolutely loved everything we ordered. Even the cornbread was so good with bits of corn in it. The sauces are great as well. I highly recommend this spot! Would definitely come back when im in the area.

I forced myself to finish for the protein.

Tried the basket. Whoah was this a let down. Big pieces, but flavor was not in the conversation. No seasoning or a choice of rub or sauce to help. Not a chance I come back when I am in the mood for fried chicken one day. Cole slaw way too spicy, sweet tea not sweet at all. Ranch is good though.

It took almost a decade to actually try this place! I really like the vibe here. There's both indoor and outdoor seating available. I'm a fried chicken lover but I'm also very particular. I enjoy fried chicken that's well seasoned (could be Chicago style, Indian seasonings etc), spicy versions, Korean, and Nashville. Not the biggest fan of just regular bland fried chicken. Unfortunately, Lucy's only has the regular and no spicy or seasoned option, and the regular doesn't have spices or flavoring to it. So for me it was pretty bland. I also tried the Nashville Hot Chicken special that was on the board. It was decent but does not compare to T22 in terms of spiciness, preparation, presentation, and taste. With that said, I felt the quality of the chicken was pretty good and the leftovers held up well under the air fryer a few hours later. Also tried DEEP FRIED DEVILED EGGS and LUCY'S FRIED PICKLES (actually order CHICKS AND CHIPS but received this instead). Both were good for what they were. Overall, I thought the service was good, food was okay and a bit on the pricey side, and great vibes. I'm happy to have finally tried them and crossed them off the list.

Food was really good. The waffles were sooo yummy, they were sweet with a sort of crystal-crispyness that I've never had before. The chicken was good to me, but it's more of a "hard fry" if that's what you prefer, not an easy "peel off" style. Chicken sandwich was good on Texas Toast with house chips and a side pickle. My boyfriend mentioned it was a little dry, maybe add a creamy sauce? Nonetheless, it was good. You can eat in or outdoors, we chose outside since it was a nice day and their patio had some fans. Clean bathrooms available inside. We did have to go look for our server once, but we were told they were going through shift change so your service experience may very depending on what time you go. A little on the higher price side, but it's Austin. We had leftovers, so I'd say it's worth the price.

I don't know if it was a traditional dish but what an explosion of flavor. Put it all together on a perfectly toasted piece of bread and bam! Perfect accompaniment to a perfect brunch. Last but not least the Salmon Gravlax. Looks simple but by no means did it taste simple. Caviar on a buttery spread. Spicy pickles, perfectly cooked egg, seasoned tomatoes, rye bread.
