I've been to Lucy's a few times, but only during the peak pandemic times. The space is very small, with only a few tables in the front area. Ordering is at the counter. Indoor seating was closed the last time I went, as was the backyard area. Outdoor seating in the front was open. I've tried the following dishes: Tofu Summer Roll (4/5): A nice rendition of a summer roll. Nice, fresh ingredients. No major issues with this dish! Vegan Ginger Chick'n Pho (4.5/5): I really enjoyed this pho. It was super flavorful for a vegetarian broth. The noodles were well cooked -- not too stiff or soggy. There was an ample amount of veggies in it, in addition to the vegan chick'n. I would definitely order it again. Vegan Ginger Chick'n Banh Mi (3.5/5): This was a decent vegetarian banh mi. The bread wasn't bad -- it wasn't fresh out of the oven, but was very decent. There could've been more bo, but the sandwich otherwise had the right internal contents. Casual and cozy ambience, friendly staff, and delicious food for carnivores as well as vegans! I'm vegan and always love when I have more than one choice that's not salad to enjoy from a restaurant. We tried the bahm mi, pho, and stir fry noodles with tofu and delicious plant based chicken. The peanut butter and hot sauces are on point. The Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk is to DIE for and my husband loved the iced tea. We loved our seats outdoor in the super cute backyard and couldn't recommend this restaurant more. I don't like giving low reviews and I probably should've researched the menu beforehand, but it is not normal pho - more like southern fusion so it really did not hit my pho craving at all. Honestly smoked brisket gets dried out and actually overpowers the entire soup. Literally just tastes like the brisket and it's fat, which is not terrible but doesn't even taste like pho anymore. I'd say skip the pho if you're looking for that craving, order something else like banh mi. read more

I was a little skeptical at the rave Yelp reviews for Lucy's when I arrived yesterday - it was largely empty at the beginning of the dinner period (6:00 PM), but after eating here, I can safely say that this is a premier Pho destination in the NYC area. The good: Quality of ingredients, fast prep and cooking, great service, extremely reasonable pricing The not-so-good: Bar none, Lucy's has some of the best broth and meat portions I've ever had in Pho. The brisket alone was extremely tender, was well seasoned, and was of the same quality that you'd expect at a barbecue joint. My wife had the lemongrass chicken, which was equally well-seasoned and is extremely high quality. In retrospect, Lucy's could charge much more for their Pho offerings than they do, but I was thrilled at the price point. Two pho bowls plus drink, tax, and tip, was $40. I was excited to see that the bag it was delivered in looked very nice and came with some high quality Lee kum Kee Sriracha and hoisin sauce. Sadly, the food itself was just not good. The chicken seemed pretty low quality as it had brown spots all over it and was just not a great texture. The vegetables and mushrooms were not fresh either, and overall the bowl just didn't have much flavor. One of the best vegan-friendly Vietnamese places that I've been to. Strictly for take out, we ordered their vegan chicken pho and their vegan chicken summer rolls. Not sure how they did it but they got the texture of chicken done right and the seasoning on point. Vegan chicken is made of non-GMO soybeans and cholesterol free. Vegetarian broth is flavored well. I was actually surprised at the menu since it seemed like they focused on specific proteins but for the summer rolls, they didn't have a shrimp option so I opted for the lemongrass which wasn't bad but my favorite would still be shrimp. There was no steak pho, which is also my staple and favorite so I opted for lemongrass chicken pho...which I don't think I've ever had a chicken pho before. First and foremost I want to thank Lucy's for taking exceptional care of the us healthcare workers fighting on the frontline during this crazy time. They've brought us food not once, but multiple times. The delicious vietnamese coffee which tastes good at any time of the day is just the pick me up you need at the beginning, middle, and end of your shift. I had the pho and the spring rolls. I was too busy to actually eat the food when it was brought to us, but I took it home. It was packaged cutely in the containers. Noodles and meat in one, and broth in another, and they packaged it with instructions, and let me say If it was this good the day after I can't even imagine how good it was yesterday. The broth is the perfect balance of salty and tangy, with a hint of spice, if you like more spice you can always add it in. The broth had many depths of flavor and I could probably drink an entire container of that liquid goodness. The noodles were still tender Somehow, and the beef brisket was so so so d@mn good. It's got a black pepper crust, and it's was tender and so palatable. I can't say enough good things about the food at Lucy's, as well as the people behind the operation, I appreciate you and all the delicious food. I was really craving noodle soup today, so I decided to give this place a try. I ordered their brisket pho to go, which is a bit pricey ($15.95 pre-tax) and it was delicious. The brisket was so tender and there was a generous amount of meat. I wish the broth was a touch more flavorful, but overall the pho was fantastic. My biggest problem is how they packaged the food... The soup and veggies were in one container and the noodles and brisket were in another... Both were reasonably full so it was tough to pour soup into one container and vice versa. Crazy amount of single use plastic!! So much plastic even when dinging outside at the establishment. Everything was served in plastic separately from the side sauces, veggies, broth, noodles, water cups etc. I would understand if we ordered to go but we sat outside to eat there. There is a recycling bin but doubtful that it actually gets recycled as I've seen people accidentally mistaking it for trash bin. The pho here is great with the smoked brisket. The broth is delicious and the meat is good. This is not your authentic pho. It definitely has a twist to it and is shaking up the pho game. I would prefer more veggies served with it like basil and fresh Thai peppers. But I think this franchise is catering more to the western culture. American Pho. Don't try unless you're looking for that type of food. I tried bc they had good reviews and 4.3 stars. For the broth being vegan, it's pretty good. It's just not pho. If you think it's just noodle soup, it's decent food. Unfortunately the noodles were over cooked for me, they give you a very small amount of bean sprout, some weird hot sauce that's nothing similar to Siracha or hot oil spice sauce. I got the brisket pho as they advertise. The brisket alone is good but not sure if it belongs on a bowl of pho. We also got chicken banhmi but that was meh. Maybe this is a good place for vegans.
