I always find what I need here & the store is nice & clean. I knocked of a star because the last few of times I've shopped at this location the staff working the register & at the deli haven't been the friendliest; the customer service could definitely improve.

Very poor service from the old man at the register named Robert. He has a bad attitude towards customers and should not be working in customer service.

Friendly staff, prices better than most other grocery stores in town. Selection is not as large as other places, but its still my main stop.

Most people visit Baker and Cook for its bakery: breakfast and lunch. But Nick Demerest, formerly…read moreof Chez Panisse, brings the same culinary excellence he showed at Harvest Moon to Baker and Cook on Friday and Saturday evenings. Easily some of the best food in Sonoma, and clearly the best value anywhere in wine country, Nick's perfectly seasoned and generous entrees outshine local restaurants that charge twice the price. The homemade ravioli and bouillabaise we had last night were beautifully presented and delicious. The wine list is small but provides carefully selected bottles at near retail--half of what other restaurants would charge. And you get the same friendly and attentive service here that we loved at Harvest Moon. From the front, the restaurant looks like a fast food outlet in a strip center, but the back patio is generous and quiet. Not luxurious, but friendly and comfortable--like dining on your own porch. Our new favorite in Sonoma.

Plus I'm always skeptical of counter ordering... more lameness. I had the best scrambled eggs and de-caf Americano I have ever had in my life! I ordered the biscuits and gravy, which is really very good, not a classic in the genre, but if you are a collector of biscuits-and-gravy, do definitely order it. And that's how you are going to get those scrambled eggs. My bride had the Bagel with Smoked Salmon + Avocado. Among the best bagels I've had, and very generous portions of salmon and avocado beautifully arranged. We share plates and the bagel+salmon+scrambled eggs were over-the-top. Do stop in, they are very friendly at the counter, the patio is calling, and if there are any baguettes left when you leave, leave with one. I already miss it and can't wait to go back. And that's rare...

The plain kouign amann had more sugared coating than the strawberry one, so for that reason I enjoyed it more. Definitely ask to get them warmed up! As for the ham and cheese croissant, we all agreed it was probably one of the best ham and cheese croissants we've had. They are super generous with their filling of ham and cheese, and they use a yummy mustardy sauce. It also comes with a little fruit! OK so why would I be torn about this place?! Well, unfortunately, every single drink we ordered was not good. My friend threw her coffee away after two sips. My other friend ordered the Matcha and it was powdery and bitter. I ordered the milk tea and it was completely watered down. I would not recommend getting a drink here. None of us finished our drink and this is coming from people who hate wasting food. But I 100% recommend their baked goods or food items and would be excited to try more of their offering dream dream dream

I also ordered an iced coffee, and while the flavor itself was really good, I was a little disappointed to find quite a bit of coffee grounds/sediment at the bottom of my cup. Once I got toward the bottom, it made the coffee taste pretty grainy and unpleasant. I went back and asked if they could remake it, and the staff was kind enough to do so. Unfortunately, the second coffee still had a small amount of grounds at the bottom. It was much less than the first one, so I decided not to go back for a third time. I'm not sure if this was just an issue with the batch or the way the coffee was prepared that day, but it was a little disappointing, especially from a bakery with Bouchon's reputation. Aside from that, the coffee itself tasted good, the macarons were delicious, and I'm glad we stopped in. I would definitely return for the pastries and macarons--I just hope the coffee preparation is a little better next time.

"She's the sunflower of nature's seeds A girl that some men…read moreonly find in their dreams" (Stevie Wonder) Deep in the heart of the California Wine Country, our wine tour let us off for a lunch break to grab a meal somewhere among the various eateries in Sonoma Plaza. We were attracted to the Sunflower Caffé's distinctive yellow and white awning and sign, so we walked in and it was a terrific choice. Their menu is full of locally sourced farm fresh ingredients. I saw pastries, egg dishes, sandwiches, soups, and salads on the food menu. The beverage menu is excellent with a full coffee-espresso bar, mimosas, wine, beer, cider, smoothies, Kombucha, plus wellness and mushroom shots. We each went for one of their Half Sandwich Combos served with a cup of Cream Tomato Soup & Dressed Greens. I had a Spiced Chickpea & Yam Wrap vegan (sunflower-spiced chickpeas, herb-roasted yam, red onion cucumber, vine-ripened tomato, coconut yogurt tzatziki ($19) and my wife has a Sunflower Grilled Cheese (Vella dry-jack butter, cheddar, fontina, sliced sourdough) also for $19. The plates of food were gorgeous, and my half a sandwich was filling. We both gave the creamy tomato soup high marks. Service from Yaya was cheerful, professional and friendly, and as requested she seated us near a charging plug to bring my phone back to life. We were extremely happy with the Sunrise Caffé. PRO TIP The restrooms are outdoors behind the restaurant. On the way over, I saw they had a gorgeous outdoor seating area with bright yellow chairs and a patio cover. That would have been a nice place to eat had we known about it.

The service was pretty good, seated fast, pretty attentive with all the tables they had to serve. We ordered a traditional caramel macchiato (it is nothing like a Carmel macchiato that you are thinking of) and a matcha latte. They were pretty but lacking flavor. The Mach was very bitter, but I am sure that's the traditional version in a little bitty shot like glass -not my fave but I was trying to order stuff i wouldn't normally get. ‍ the matcha came in a giant mug, and it wasn't sweet at all and just kinda of plain. For food, we ordered the wagyu steak and eggs. It came with some interesting garlic herby potatoes, a piece of sourdough cut in half, scrambled eggs, 6 slim slices of beef and a little jam of some sort. We also asked for a side of their house made chili crunch. The steak was mediocre, the potatoes tasted a little weird. We enjoyed the bread and eggs the most. Maybe we just ordered the wrong things. I'd come back and try other items. It is a very cute location.

"The Dude " (on sesame bagels) sandwich was very different from this though, it's good if you like more greens on a bagel, generous portion of cream cheese and still comes with bacon. Bagels were great on both. Toasted always. The coffee is good as well. For such a small place somewhat hidden in the corner. They def knew their menu. Immediately brought water with cucumber and lemon, very refreshing. I ordered the bread with butter to start, it was excellent. That butter just melts on every bite, taking the bread to the next level. Staff recommended the Rachel pastrami. It did not disappoint. It was very simple. However the combination of the thousand Island, sauerkraut, the pastrami and buttered bread just made it so delicious. It was decently meat packed too. The sandwich came with fries which I inhaled the ketchup that they brought me extra. It also came with two types of coleslaw both were delish. They were not overwhelming with dressing. The yellow one was interesting bc I thought it was turmeric but it was slightly sweet. Delish as well. Also ordered their Italian prosecco. I'm into red wine but for some reason perhaps the environment I felt the prosecco would work and it did! It was bubbly refreshing, tasty, and not dry. Their restroom was big and clean. It has a cozy, rustic charm that makes you want to slow down and enjoy your meal. Here's what we tried: Lemon Drop Martini - Refreshing and well-balanced. A solid way to kick off lunch. Della Fattoria Bread - Our waiter hyped it up as "the best bread in California." Maybe my expectations were a little too high because...it was just okay to me. Good, but not the showstopper I was expecting. Brussels Sprouts - These were really good! Perfectly roasted with lots of flavor. Spicy Sweet Chili Wings - THE STAR OF THE SHOW! These were hands down the best thing we ordered. Crispy, sticky, sweet with just the right amount of heat...absolutely delicious! I'd honestly come back just for these. Clam Chowder - Creamy, comforting, and a nice starter. Bacon Cheeseburger - A solid burger that definitely hit the spot. My only real complaint? The wings. Not the flavor--the portion size. For $20, I think the order should include at least 8-10 wings. You get six (the sixth one is hiding under the garnish in my photo ), and one of them was noticeably smaller than the others. They were so good that I just wished there had been more! Overall, I really enjoyed my visit. Between the charming atmosphere, friendly service, and those unforgettable wings, I'd definitely come back again. Next time, I'll probably skip the bread and go straight for another order of those wings!
