What a quaint French bakery in Glen Ellen! I was excited to finally try this place after driving by it for years. The building cannot be missed with the yellow exterior. It already exudes happiness. How is it that I've been frequenting this cafe for so many years without submitting a review?! We typically come here after a hike or bike ride- today was a hike nearby. Of course we were famished. It is difficult to choose what to order with all the delectable menu items. My friend had their onion soup & some mushroom bread thing she loved. She also enjoyed the fancy lemon tart. I had the veggie quiche- always so creamy & delicious. I ordered a chai latte for the first time- very good. And I brought home a chocolate meringue for later. Place is a respite from the sometimes vexing hustle and bustle of the lives we choose, and the quality food and drink available here are part of that, as well as the ambiance and grace that the owners and their team have going on. While there is often a line, it moves efficiently and I have found that even those few short moments let me reorient myself and move gradually from the outside world to this oasis of calm and quality products, hearing what the people in front of me are asking about and the dulcet responses from the staff. Cute inside seating and a nice deck out back, and my favorite, a little public bench tucked in a meadow about 20 yards past LP, on the same side; just right to sit and watch the world go by in a restful setting. The ingredients and care Les Pascals demonstrates make me a better eater; for example, the turkey, vegetables, and crispy onion baguette sandwich is just so satisfying and does not beg for more More MORE as you eat it, the portion and experience are together in making even this simple meal a getaway, of sorts. The French Onion soup is wonderful! Croque Madam / Monsieur are so satisfying, all heated up. I cannot even pretend to know the names of all the wonderous baked goods they offer, just know whatever you select will be terrific, and again, not too much or too little (I guess depending on how much you order!). I find myself looking for reasons to head this way from Napa and the anticipation and the look-back at the visit are also part of the value of this treasure! read more

Les Pascals is 1 of a handful (like 3 Maybe) of coffee establishment in Glen Ellen. But she does not disappoint at all. Owned by a Parisian couple (Pascale and Pascal) who moved to the town in 2018, this patisserie offers authentic, fresh pastries, sandwiches, and desserts as well as coffee and European style morning drinks. We were in the town for 3 days and went here every morning! They have an adorable indoor and outdoor sitting space, with many tables and a large parking lot. Pascal (the missus) was there on our first visit and was incredibly friendly, providing recommendations of the best things to try (everything ) and gave suggestions for activities for the duration of our stay. Wow, what a gem! This place is quite popular and I understand why. Great service, delicious pastries, it was like stepping into a European cafe. I believe the owner was serving customers herself on a Saturday morning and doing so many things! I was the 2nd party in line but by the time I left, the line was out the door. I was impressed by the number of options. We got a plain croissant, some kind of blackberry pastry also made from croissant dough, spinach and bacon quiche, and coffee. Everything was delicious. The quiche was a bit different texture wise than I expected (basically more loose) but it was still tasty. I didn't try the viennoiserie but heard they were good; would probably do so next time as I'm sure that is the best tell of how good this place is. My experience was 5 stars- 4 for the coffee, 5 overall including the service. Little touches like offering to warm up people's orders, providing individual containers with milk for the coffee in different cups without asking, and packing everything up nicely to make carrying more efficient all went a long way. I would definitely be back if in the area. They also have some seating and I'm sure it's a nice spot to have a coffee and pastry or lunch. It is definitely pretty slow paced (everything on our Sonoma trip seemed to be to be honest so maybe it's just the way of life, probably not a bad thing) so I would not come here if in a hurry. read more

Post wine tasting in Glen Ellen or if you want to grab something right before, this is the spot located on the road with parking behind the lot or on the street. Came here on a Saturday for lunch and it was exactly what I was looking for! I wanted to be able to order, pay, and enjoy my latte and a pastry! I asked what the most popular items were and the worker said the spinach and cheese quiche along with the almond croissant! My friend got the madam croco (cheese, egg on toast) and a baguette as well and we shared everything. Let me tell you how good everything was. From the flakiness of the pastries to how the almond croissant wasn't too sweet. I would highly recommend anything here and can't wait to go back! Been here a few times and surprised that I haven't written a review yet. It's definitely changed since we first came here like their almond croissants. They were bigger about 4-5 years ago. Now they're about 25-50% smaller depending on when I've gone. One of my favorite almond croissants in the area, great almond filling. The ganache buche de Noel is a great decadent dessert. Their tarts are delicious as well and the croque madame is rich and savory. Their ham and cheese croissant tastes more similar to a croque madame since they have the béchamel inside. I enjoy their cappuccino as well and the rustic baguette is nice although I've had better. Service is always great, the lady that runs the shop is always very nice and chipper. This bakery was one of the spots I was most excited to visit, and it didn't disappoint! The owner greets you with a cheerful "Bonjour," setting the tone for a warm and authentic French experience. The bakery itself is cozy and charming, making it the perfect place to enjoy your pastries and sip on coffee. I loved it so much that I came here every day during my stay and sampled a bit of everything. One thing to note: if you choose to eat inside, the aroma of freshly baked goods tends to linger on your clothes and hair. Saw this on Trip advisor and then it was recommended by a local so we stopped by for a late lunch. The ambiance is small but cute and clean with patio seating in back next to the parking lot. Service at the counter was friendly. She even offered to give us a glass of ice for our canned cokes. And service was quick as the sammys are premade and just have to be warmed up. I was a little worried about that but needn't have been as they were warm and moist: Ham and Swiss baguette: 12/10. This little sandwich was so tasty I wanted another one. Such a cute French bakery! My husband and I got the croque madame sandwich, a raspberry and chocolate brioche, a petite chocolate brownie thingy, and an ice mocha. The croque Madame was so good because of that béchamel sauce or cheese in it. My husband said he wasn't hungry when we first got there but when he took a bite of the sandwich, he said "it's too good not to eat" and proceed to finish half of it. I was lucky to get the other half! The brioche was also excellent. It tasted fresh and not too sweet with the raspberry and chocolate. The salt on top balanced the pastry off really well. The petite chocolate brownie was gooey when we bit into it, I was not expecting that which was a nice surprise. The staff is friendly and I loved how our server was actually French! I'm always down for some really good French food, so when hubby suggested we take a day out to the city of Glen Ellen to try a French bakery, I was totally down. On our first trip here, we arrived just before lunch and there was already a line out the door. Good sign! Our first visit, we both started with hot drinks, he got a small coffee ($2) and I got a small oat milk mocha ($3.65). I ordered the veggie sando ($4.80), a cup of the French onion soup ($8.50), and an eclair ($4.50). Hubby ordered the turkey sando ($4.80), an almond croissant ($3.70), a raspberry snail ($3.35) and a meringue ($2.20). Although it sounds like a lot of food, the portions are small so it al fit on a bistro table outside. Drinks were good and strong, but not overly impressive. My soup was dire, probably one of the worst I've had, and literally tasted like marginally oniony water, it was horrible. Thankfully I didn't let that stop me from tasting everything else because my eclair was incredible, and my sando was fresh and light. Hubby loved his turkey sando and said it was also very light, airy and perfect. His favorite thing this trip was the almond croissant, however he also raved about the raspberry snail and we both devoured the meringue. On our second trip here, he started with a coffee, and I tried their Chai ($4.15 and this time they charged me for oat milk +0.75). We ordered another eclair and almond croissant because the last ones were so good, along with a lemon tart ($5.30), croque madame ($7.10), and small olive loaf ($5). We took our items outside again to their bistro deck and enjoyed the sun. The second trip, our eclair and croissant were as good as we remembered, but the real stand out on this trip was the olive loaf. WOW, multiple types of olives and super fresh rosemary, it was perfection. The croque was ok, but honestly not super memorable, and the tart was solid, tart, and bright. Overall, Les Pascals has some really amazing items, as long as you know which ones to order and ones to pass on, namely get the eclairs and the olive bread and hard pass on the onion soup. Service is super-fast and efficient with so many people in line, but the folks behind the counter stay chipper and friendly, so it goes by fast. We will definitely be back, and I'll be dreaming in the meantime of that rosemary olive bread. read more

We were looking for a place for a good coffee and so glad that we drive here from Santa Rosa, much cheaper than a trip to Paris. Went on a Sunday and there was a line out the door. Once inside the service was incredible and there were so many delectable choices. We had the French onion soup, almond croissant and capuchinos. Great soup, the croissant was buttery and flaky and the coffee was really good and very hot. Large area inside with tables plus a garden area with seating.
