I have been supporting this little gem since it opened its doors a year ago under new ownership. This place is one of the cleanest nail salons I have ever been to. You can physically see the staff clean each and every inch of the pedi and mani station before the next guest. The staff at Lucky's is amazing. I went there for the first time last night at 5pm and had a good experience. I've been looking for a good place in secaucus since my bad experience at Paris nails right around the corner. I got there 10 minutes early and they took me right away. They took my temperature upon entry and they require masks. She did a great job I can't stop looking at my nails. The only small problem I had with my nail tech was that she seemed to be frustrated with my hands and kept shaking them telling me to relax.. not sure what I was supposed to do since I've been getting my nails done for over 30 years and never heard a complaint. Honestly, stay away from this place. The people who work here genially are really nice and sweet but geeezzzz!! I had the worst experience. First - I come in to get a gel manicure and I asked her to not cut my nails but to just file them down evenly and the woman proceeded to cut my nails after I asked her not to (I like to keep my natural shape) so now she cut all my nails. Second - we start the gel manicure and it wasn't applied in layers so it started to BURN my nails after I put them in under the lamp. The burn was so bad my eyes started tearing and she told me it was normal (I've been getting gel done for the past 5 years and I've never experienced it burning so badly Third- she was clearly in a rush so the whole set was done rushed. So I went here today to get manicure done and didn't want to put any color on - I asked the lady that I want to soak my nails in water (they don't have water soak in manicure) as my nails were very dirty. She removed my gel, cut my nails, and I soaked them in water. Usual manicure is $10. She charged me $16 - I asked why? She told me $6 for water - Are you kidding me?!!! There was a bowl of water - I just put my nails in it to remove dirt. And She charged me $6 for soak! Last time when I went they over charged me and pretended its the right amount. Had a horrible experience here. Had two different ladies one who did my tips and one who did my pedicure. The one who did my tips didn't listen to how I wanted my tips and was rude. At the end sincemy experience was bad I didn't leave a tip and she had the audacity to go up to me and ask for tip... and the lady who did my pedicure literally took 10 mins ... she didn't clean the sides and was about to do 3 coats on one nail and leave the rest with out I had to tell her if she did 3 coats in one then please do it to the others. I am writing this review as I am getting a rushed pedicure. I came in at 6 o'clock for a pedicure and just now got seated at 7:38. The entire time the staff was taking their sweet time on every other customer, but when it came to my turn, the lady was filing my toes like a mad woman making then extremely uneven. When I asked her nicely to make them more square, she gave me attitude and immediately started speaking in Korean... Extremely unprofessional. I've had horribly long wait times before, but always got decent pedicures here at decent prices. After noticing that their prices are just as much as an NYC salon, I've decided never to come here again. I might as well pay $30 for a better pedicure by my office! This was the worst place I have ever gone too!! I am new in town only went there because they are the only place open in a Sunday! I should have waited the extra day. She did such a horrible job and when I asked her to please fix it she was absolutely rude. She wanted to do my nails the way she wanted and I was just suppose to like them regardless of how sloppy they were done! Then because they do not a price list for reference they are able to make up prices, so for a sloppy half done job she made up $65 for only a full set. So this place is pretty good in my book! I'm a horrible nail biter, but this place was able to get some acrylic tips on my almost nonexistent natural nails, so thats a plus, but they are getting 2 stars only, based on overall experience. First thing is by just looking at this place, it looks a bit dirty. It was also very hot in the building and there was no AC, so I felt gross when I left. When the nail technician was taking the clipper and cuticle tools out of the sanitizer, they did not look clean at all. They use the UV sanitizers ovens, so the tools used from what I could tell were old. A lot of salons now a days use a new pack for each customer, or at least have some kind of cleaning solution they keep the tools in. This place had the tools in a little metal tray inside the UV sanitizing oven and the metal tray was a bit rusty. But I really needed my nails done, and they were the only place close by that was open so I chanced it. Upon first showing my gnarly nails to a girl, she made a rude face right at me, didn't even hide it, and immediately started talking in Korean. She seemed unsure of how to do my tips, and another girl came over to help her. The first girl proceeded to finish cutting and filing the nails. However, before putting the tips on when she was pushing back my cuticles, she was extremely rough and it hurt a lot. After she got the tips on though, she sent me to the 2nd girl who did more cutting and filing and finished up the tips w/ the acrylic powder, more filing, color etc. The first girl apparently couldn't finish because she had someone else's pedicure to do. This may have been though since I was a walk-in. It was the 2nd girl who was much nicer and talked to me about trying to let my nails grow out, etc. My nails look great, and so far, it's been only 4 days, but are still in tact! I had UV gel paint done, so the color has not faded or chipped, but I'm so not used to having nails, that usually I can't keep them even this long. I usually catch them on something and accidentally rip at least one off by mistake, and that hurts like a bitch! I actually did catch a nail on something today, but it's holding strong, and is not even loose. So they get a big kudos for that. Aside from the visual look of non-cleanliness, I thought the tools "looked" dirty, but so far, my nails are perfectly fine and I've not gotten any funky infections or funguses so maybe they were clean as I'm hoping they were, but I won't be going back simply for the fact that I don't live in NJ anymore, and the fact that I've gone to better places. I was only in NJ for a family function and decided to get my nails done. I definitely be looking for a place close to home! read more

They are very ruff on my toes even after after i told her to be gentle and it hurts... They charge 18$ for pedicure which is not worth even a single penny.. I have been to this place three times in the hopes that my experience would be better the next time. Two of those times were as a walk in and the last one was with an appointment. Let me first say that the first two times my experience was unpleasant but bearable. I got a pedicure the first time and the staff was rude but I walked out with a decent pedicure. The second time I went for a full in of my tips and the woman doing my nails was very rough and even cut me. Regardless I have the service I received the benefit of doubt think on it was because I was a walk in costumer. However this last time I called and asked for an appointment for two pedicures and a fill in since my mother was getting a pedicure too. The woman on the phone said 6pm. I arrived at 5:55pm and finally at 6:27pm one woman said she would take me for my pedi. I ceded my spot to my mother already anticipating from their attitude that they wouldn't get to both of us. This seemed to be a problem because one of the women argued with me that she would take me not my mom. Finally she took her and as was to be expected rushed through her pedicure. Meanwhile I waited for another 20 minutes and when told that they were ready to do my pedi seeing the time I told the woman I would rather get my hands done and I would come back for the pedi the next day. The woman replied I would have to wait a little longer and I said this would be ok. At 6:55pm a woman doing someone's hands finished and I walked away to the back. When she came back I asked if she was going to take me and she replied that she couldn't because they were now closing. When I told them that was not professional and asked why then they had told me to wait all this time they proceeded to speak in their language and laugh at me. I will never go back to this place. They are rude and they are not even all that great. I get my toes done every week and my hands every two weeks religiously. I have been to a lot of salons and this one just me. My friend who has an apartment in Secaucus brought me here during a girl's day together. We both got gel manicures and regular pedicures. Both lasted 5+ weeks! No chipping! (Obviously they did grow out- but even when I used nail cutters at home, the color still didn't chip!) They are fast which can come off that they don't care but to be honest, I hate sitting in a nail salon for 4 hours- they get my pedi done in record time and always clean very well. As they do that they soak off my previous gel so I'm ready to go right afterwards. At my old place I used to be there for at least 2/3 hours. But because they're quick they're able to get their clients in and out faster which means no wait for me which I love- since if I'm usually out getting a mani/pedi, I'm usually running 10 other errands that day too or have an event. They are VERY expensive. I spend $55/60 dollars sometimes not including tip every trip but I only have to go every 4-5 weeks because of how well the color lasts which is totally worth it to not have an ugly chipped mani after a week- which is why I always go back. They have a unique way but this is one of the best nail salons I've been to. I live about 5 towns over but always make the trip! read more

Not so LUCKY! As my daughter mentioned in the previous review, this is a place we will not be going to! I have been going to this salon for either special occasions or just to treat myself and my daughters. This time we went for my youngest daughter's birthday. We had 5 of us which I was paying for....$$$. As my daughter mentioned we told the lady to stop do not cut the nail. She was tugging on my daughter's foot insisting and saying...give me your foot... let me cut... as the tug of toe continue she held on to the foot and cut the side of her nail. Mind you we told her she had ingrown toe nails and had surgery this year on them. My daughter wanted to cry ..... she said her foot was throbbing . Other people in the salon were staring and worried about the girl in the chair. None of the other workers stopped her... well how would we know.. we didn't understand a word they were saying... After all this my other daughter wanted to get her arms waxed... they insisted on a full arm wax (not needed). Again they grabbed her arm and said..."ooo look so ugly take off".. How rude! My daughter said "forget it forget I don't need it now! I am very upset at the expensive unjust services we received!!! We will NEVER NEVER go back again! visiting secaucus with my two friends wanted a girls day.. do not go here they over charged me and my two friends. they are un sanitary put client in pedicure chair without cleaning up after me . my nails came out bumpy and super rushed . when i got my brazilian wax they were double dipping the stick which you are not suppose to do. i am so dissatisfied with my results and so arent my friends i wish u coukd post pics on here so i can show everyone how bad they look and how they over charged me :( i am sad about it read more

Absolutely awful . I should have read the views prior to coming here but I live in town and I was in a rush . My basic mani came out fine but it's difficult to mess that up . I've never had an issue with getting my eyebrows done the way I would like . I grew out my eyebrows for over a month to get the desired shape and no matter how in depth I described the way I would like them they simply didn't grasp the concept. I had two different women on my eyebrows and tell ME that it's the way my eyebrows are shaped that they cannot make them rectangular with an angle . Complete b.s but now I know never to attend this location again . They are also unsanitary the pillow that I had to lay on had some type of liquid and they double dip the sticks which is disgusting and my skin is sensitive . If I could rate this place negative 5 stars I would . I would have done a better job waxing my own eyebrows. read more
