This woman Jackie has just accosted me in a story email post. She is outright lying. I was there and I only went out to the car to move my car as I noticed I was parked over the line. I made no phone calls nor did I tell Margaret to take her time period. good bye Jackie, good luck. And I would watch the cash tip signs all over the salon. I guess your employees are not reporting wages earned. I think they call that fraud. oh I saw a bug crawling in the bathroom. yikes... It was a fine job for the price but if you want something efficient and decent, it did that. There is an uncharge to pay by credit card. They have a price list upon request from behind the counter. I wish they had their prices out on display and on their website. In this day and age, it should be easy to make prices transparent. Inside was clean but nothing fancy. I would come back now that I took the pricing guide.

I'd personally rather not do something at all than to do it poorly; especially if I'm charging for it. I'm new to New Jersey and typically get silk presses in Connecticut. I had an unexpected invite to a work event, and was unable to get an appointment with my regular stylist. I have a traditional sew-in with minimal leave out with yaki, so I figured I could have my hair curled at a local salon. To be safe, I called to make an appointment and explained my situation to the receptionist. She politely told me that the stylist was comfortable with my texture and to come in. I asked for big, voluminous, looser curls when I got in the stylist's chair; and she said that it was something she could accomplish. If you are familiar with my install on type-4 hair, you'll know that most people wrap their hair at night. My normal stylist curls my hair and it lasts for 3+ weeks with wraps until I wash it out. The stylist turned my face away from the mirror and slightly BEACH WAVED my hair! I communicated that I needed "CURLS" that would last overnight as I had an event to attend in the morning. When I asked her why she didn't curl my hair she responded, "This is what people usually mean when they say curls". I know the stylist made a genuine effort and did what she thought was right, but she failed to use discernment considering I am clearly not her typical client. She proceeded to load my hair with hairspray claiming it would make the waves last. Again, if you can relate to my hair type and style, you know hairspray won't do it. The next morning my hair was a nightmare, the ends were unruly and unstyled. Since the hours of operation for this salon are listed as 8am to 8pm on Google and their website, I tried to call for a fix before my event. Nobody answered my calls until 10am when I was already in Manhattan. I requested a refund as this was a major embarrassment, waste of my time and money. The staff told me they don't provide refunds and offered to fix the style or to give me a coupon for a free blowout. By this time, it was too late to fix the style, and it was clear their blowouts are not for me. I wish there had been a review like this one when I researched this salon, because I certainly would not have wasted my time. So kinky girls beware-- this is not the place for you.

My bridal shower was on a Sunday and I had a hard time finding a Solon locally that was open on a Sunday. I was pleasantly surprised Dina's kiss and makeup was! I had an appointment with Sam, but one of the girls contacted me asking if it was okay if Brittany did my hair and makeup instead. I was totally fine with the switch, as I felt very confident in any girl that worked under Dina. I had explained to Brittany that I was super anxious about the day and that I woke up at 4:30am and literally had been crying from the time I woke up and until I pulled up in front of the salon. I apologized for the super red puffy eyes. Brittany was SO super sweet and cool. She made me feel calm and comfortable as we chatted the whole time. I told Britany that I wanted my hair done, but not too overly done since it was just my bridal shower. She looked at a few of my pictures and with no hesitation created exactly what I was looking for. As far as makeup, I told her how I didn't usually wear a ton of face makeup and didn't want to look like I had too much on. She did such an amazing job!!! Brittany listened to what I wanted and made me feel beautiful and flawless for my shower. As I was driving home, I caught myself smiling for the first time that day, being so happy with my experience with Brittany. Even after crying a little at my shower, my makeup didn't move or streak. I'm pretty sure every single person at the shower commented on my hair and makeup and asked where I had gotten it done. Dina deserves more than 5 stars!! I have been all over the state of NJ to multiple salons to find someone who would really listen to me and work with me on what I wanted to achieve with my hair color/cut. I went to Dinas and from the moment I walked in I was welcomed so warmly, I felt so comfortable and everyone was super friendly. Once Dina and I got chatting it was like she read my mind with what I wanted!! She asked me so many questions about how I style my hair daily and how i wanted it to lay and if I wanted to get it up into a bun or ponytail. I felt like the entire time she was with me it was all about me and my hair!! The attention she gave to detail was unbelievable I could not believe how she really wanted to make me feel good and you could tell she wanted to make sure my hair was going to be done how i wanted it!! Once she was finished highlighting and cutting it and blew it out my jaw nearly dropped! My hair looked beyond what words could describe as amazing! It was exactly what I wanted exactly how in my mind i wanted it to look! Dina seriously is a mind reader! she really listens to her clients and definitely wants to make sure they leave happy with the results! I have never had someone so caring, so wonderful, so enthusiastic about her job work on me! Like i said before I have been all over to find someone and no one can come remotely close to Dina!!! I have been going to Dina for my makeup for at least 7 years. She has made me feel so gorgeous and great about myself for all of my life's most important moments (My engagement party, engagement shoot, my bridal shower, my wedding, friend's weddings, my baby shower, birthday parties, etc.) I live about 30 minutes from Hoboken and I never hesitate to drive there for Dina or one of her employees to do my makeup for one of my life's most important events. Aside from doing my makeup, Dina's Kiss and Makeup is the only place I'd go to for my spray tan. She makes you feel so comfortable about something that can give any woman anxiety. It's always even and natural! Dina's Kiss and Makeup also carries Dina's own makeup line which is customized for each customer! You can not get anything like this even at the mall! Its nice to be able to walk into a shop and have your foundation created just for you. The only thing that I don't like is that Dina isn't closer to where I live! Dina does make up for this in other ways though! She will ship your essentials to your home and even travel to you for your wedding day! Dina does everything possible to create a positive environment and to give each customer exactly what they want! I wouldn't trust my makeup to be done by any other shop besides her's, ever! I have been coming to Dina for spray tans for a few years now, following her from Hoboken to Secaucus because she is not only the most reasonably priced, but - more importantly - she is THE BEST at what she does. I trusted her with my tan for my bridal shower and my wedding - not to mention the countless weddings I have been in over the years - and without fail, it is always even, always natural looking, and always lasts for a week if not more - oh and did I mention its 100% vegan, 100% cruelty free and made from natural ingredients?! I mean, what's not to love? SO, when I was in a pickle for an upcoming bridal shoot I had following my wedding, I immediately booked my appointment with Dina. Not only did she give me a killer spray tan, but when I couldn't find anyone to do my makeup - on a random Tuesday morning - she offered to come in on her day off to make it happen.... and the results were flawless. I moved to Bergen County a year and a half ago and have been struggling to find "my salon." I found out about the salon from the ladies of the z100 morning show, and started following their Instagram pages because I loved all their work. I always said I was going to try them out, but never did. A few weeks ago, I had an awful hair crisis and desperately needed a color correction so I decided to give them a call to see if they could make me pretty again. Sam came to my rescue and did just that. She is simply AMAZING; she knew exactly what I wanted and is the sweetest girl ever. She is officially my hair girl now and I am so excited. I even went back a week after to get a spray tan for the first time and I highly recommend the rapid tan, it is awesome! It lasted and did not look fake at all. The salon is decorated so pretty and all the stylists are friendly and welcoming. They have amazing massage chairs by the sink. I highly recommend this salon, don't wait like I did!! read more

I have one word to describe my experience at this salon: amazing. Aside from Dina's attention to detail, she is also dedicated to her work. She knew I needed my hair done and scheduled an appointment where she knew she would have to stay later to finish it. My hair looked and felt AMAZING. The color was perfect and she also trimmed my bangs for me. Dina excels in everything she does at her salon. Her customer service is unbeatable. To all of these people commenting negatively about their friend's experience: how sad that you find time in your day to put down someone's business based on one person's experience. Perhaps your friend who was so unhappy should have said that initially and the issue would have been resolved. Let me tell you right now this is where you need to go for all of your cosmetic needs. I got the best haircut of my life here and the process was like a choose your own adventure but in luxury spa form: the scalp massage I got during my shampooing and conditioning was comparable to a professional Swedish massage for my brain. They gave me so much information about how I could work with my cut that I wouldn't be surprised if Dina has her own master class for this stuff. She has fantastic smelling candles as well- the tactile, visual, and olfactory 1-2 punch of spledidness will have anybody wishing they could just pay to hang out there daily. Oh did I mention the staff all wore masks and had a well-ventilated shop? These people know SCIENCE. Honestly just go here for whatever hair or makeup needs you need- your search is over. read more

Amazing. That doesn't even do justice the experience I had when I came into Dina's Kiss & Makeup! My hair was in the worst condition and after having my consultation with Sam she knew exactly what my hair needed. She was extremely professional and honest. Suggested a glaze and explained that it would be better for my hair. I was under the impression that I had to apply permanent color to cover up my terrible "highlights" that were done at another salon. My hair was a mess. I couldn't believe how after just one visit my hair was transformed! I received many compliments! It was healthy and shiny. I returned yesterday for another glaze and again it was a hit! I have to preface this by saying I'm so sad that I had to move to Virginia because it meant I had to leave Dina! Dina's Kiss and Makeup was my go to spot for spray tans and my makeup! It was the only place that used airbrush and made me look flawless without overdoing it! The tans were perfect which is hard to find being that I'm very fair and most airbrush tans make me orange. Her spray tans were natural and very reasonably priced!! Dina's great expertise, sense of humor and amazing staff always had me coming back for more! I recently moved to Hoboken and knew nobody. As I walked around my 1st weekend here i saw Dina's Kiss and Makeup. It looked cute, and I needed a new salon, so I went in and gave it a shot. I have VERY dark natural hair (almost black when I went in there because my friend and I tried to box dye it a few weeks before). Well, Dina and her crew took one look at me and made it happen. After some amazing conversation, fun music, and finding out the "hot spots" of Hoboken, i had not only blonde hair, but some new friends :) This place is jam packed with awesome makeup, stylists and just kind hearted people. What a wonderful atmosphere filled with extremely talented hair stylists! I brought my bridal party here (11 women including myself ) for my wedding and everyone was beyond satisfied! Not only is the salon gorgeous but the perfect spot for a bridal party to get prepped! Space is large, has a comfortable lounging area, and even has a flower wall to post amazing social media photos! First of all.. I would like to point out that I have never had a hair dresser who I did not know care about me so much! Dina REALLY cares about making you happy with the color that comes out. She even followed up with me a few days later to see if I'm still loving my new look. Dina gave me the makeover of my dreams! Best haircut I have ever had plus super natural looking highlights. I'm a redhead and it's super challenging to get highlights that blend in with my hair but Dina did a great job. Also I have never had a spray tan before because I'm super pale and freckled- Dina gave me a natural looking tan that actually works with my skin tone and I no longer look like a ghost. I took my daughter here to get a spray tan and make up done. She had a terrible rash on her face from an allergic reaction 2 weeks prior that wasn't healed. After she got her tan and makeup from Dina you couldn't see a thing and the work was beautiful!!!! Thanks. Highly recommend. read more

While I was there, I saw their makeup/hair stylist Erica doing someone's makeup and it looked amazing so I asked Michele, the owner if Erica might be available to do my hair and makeup for a wedding I was going to and she was so we scheduled the appt. Fast forward to this past weekend, I had my appt with Erica for my hair and makeup and I seriously could not be happier with the final product. I got SO many compliments all night. Erica was so sweet and worked so fast which I loved! I was there for about an hour and 15 minutes total. I will definitely be using Erica again for future events. I'm so glad to have found a salon where they do great work and I feel comfortable!

She recommended I don't go with the highlights and only do color correction since I colored my hair jet black with box die. Lol don't judge me I have no time for hair maintenance. Anyway Erica worked for hours to correct the mess and cover my grays . I have to say she did an amazing job. She was kind, understanding, explained things , did not rush me , I get at ease I didn't feel that I was pushed to get anything I didn't need or would damage my hair further and that I greatly appreciate. I specifically booked a Botox treatment with Zoila, the owner of the salon, since her name was listed among other stylists in the booking app. However, when I arrived, although she greeted me and explained the different treatments, she did not actually perform the service. Instead, someone else with less experience handled it, and I could tell because they kept asking Zoila questions during the process. For the price of $447, I expected the service to be done by the professional I booked with, especially the salon owner. The final disappointment came with the haircut -- I requested a butterfly cut, which Zoila herself did, and unfortunately the results speak for themselves (see attached photos for transparency). Overall, I left feeling let down and frustrated. When you pay a premium price, you should receive the experience and expertise you booked for.

I told her I want a light brown brow liner 'coz dark ones don't really look that nice on me. And she was like "oh you don't want your eyebrows to have the same color as your hair... blah blah blah". I thought that's basic when it comes to make up. Brows should match the color of your hair. Instead she took her eyebrow template and airbrushed my eyebrows with black brown color. Mind you, I sent her my pinterest board before she came for my trial and she did nothing like any of what I want there. There's a lot more that I can write here but it's just a lot to type lol. When I finally told her a few days after that I'm not hiring her, this is the response that I got. So yeah, if you need somebody who would rather have you look like the way she wants, rather than what you want, Maira would be the perfect beauty artist for your wedding day. I advice you do a trial first so you don't get stressed out on your actual wedding day.
