I've to the other Lucky Boy in Pasadena and wanted to see which I Liked more. Well this location really feels like a winner and faster service than the larger store. I had the Gyro and was happy it was lamb, but I think they put Bleu Cheese on instead of yogurt sauce. Otherwise, it would be a four in my book...

If you're in the area and you like breakfast burritos this is the spot you need to go to. I'm not even kidding when I say one burrito can definitely feed two people. The burritos come with some of the most amazing salsa I've ever had too. I would recommend either having them cut it in half for you or eating it with a fork and knife because they stuff these burritos and it might start to fall apart while you're eating. The service is like fast food service, you order at the counter and they'll call you when the order is ready. There's some indoor seating and outdoor seating. They also have their own parking lot which a plus.

Got the breakfast burrito and added a pancake to it (secret menu item) This thing was delicious. They give you so much food when you order you will definitely get two meals out of it. Classic breakfast diner vibes 63+ years of perfection wrapped in one epic breakfast burrito.

Came here about 10pm, and they only allowed to go orders because they close at 10:45pm. The wait for our food wasn't long, maybe 10 mins from the time we ordered. We ordered a basic cheeseburger, pastrami burger and a small chili cheese fries. The fries were slight soggy by the time we arrived at our hotel, about 10 mins away. The chili was good and the burgers are good and messy. It's definitely a good place to go for a neighborhood burger joint. Their burgers are filling especially the pastrami burger, tons of pastrami.

So, the history is what brought me to Lucky Boy. The prices are why I won't be back. I was blown away that a pastrami cheeseburger, fries, and onion rings was an eye watering $24.09. Like...pardon me? This was a first visit and it will be my last. Kind of explains why the place was a ghost town inside. How disappointing.

This is my go to spot for a good breakfast burrito or any burrito for that matter. They also have phenomenal burgers. I don't think I have ordered anything that I didn't like.

Lucky Boy is a Pasadena classic! The burritos are huge and super satisfying -- definitely get the special breakfast burrito, it's the best one . The service is always quick and friendly, and the staff are great. I haven't tried anything else yet, but the burgers always look amazing. Some people call these LA's best breakfast burritos -- I'm not sure if I'd go that far, but they're definitely very good. The walnut location has that classic diner vibe, with plenty of parking, which is a huge plus. A true Pasadena staple that's absolutely worth checking out!

Half empty box of unsalted fries.

I just got back from Lucky Boy's on Walnut about 10 minutes ago, opened my bag, and what a disappointment. I ordered one thing, large fries. What I was given was a half -empty box of fries. I tasted the fries and they weren't even salted. I guess Pasadena's Lucky Boys doesn't try anymore.

"Greek Wrap"- could not finish this. Should be pulled from the menu. The lettuce is brown
    Jaz M.

As soon as I pulled into the driveway of this restaurant an employee, an older gentleman, signaled for me to go away. I am guessing because the parking lot was full? I should have taken this as a sign to leave- but I was so hungry and hot I decided to park on the street and still go inside. When I ordered at the cashier, I immediately looked at my receipt and noticed that he missed an item. I ordered a drink, a shake, zucchini but he did not ring up the Greek wrap. I stepped to the cashier next to him, a woman, and let her know he forgot the greek wrap, showed her my receipt, and so she rang me up for a separate transaction to add it. I then waited and received my two drinks and the greek wrap. However the zucchini never came. I waited and waited for the zucchini fries. I was on a time crunch and hungry... I thought to myself "I bet they forgot I even ordered zucchini fries because a big party in front of me ordered so many they probably got mixed up". Sure enough they did. The lady working the register kept looking at me weird, then finally asked "are you waiting for something?". "Yes" I replied, showing her my receipt and said "my zucchini". She told the chef to make an order and quickly he did. My whole experience ordering and waiting was annoying. The employees are not good at their job. I went home to eat... the greek wrap was disappointing. It did not look appetizing, the lettuce inside was wilted brown ice berg lettuce chopped thin. The chicken was overly seasoned, no greek flavor at all, with olives feta cheese and wrapped in a tortilla. A wrap should not be a burrito. It was not a well put together dish, the ingredients do not compliment each other nor taste greek at all. You can tell the chicken and lettuce were old. I was very very upset. I honestly want my money back. I will not be coming back.

I'm so glad we did because we had a wonderful time. Right off the bat, however, I want to point out that this is a cash only establishment. Yes, they do have an ATM inside, but if you want to avoid what I'm assuming is a crazy service fee, bring plenty of cash with you because this place isn't the cheapest meal in town. It's not expensive, but it's not cheap. Also, there is very limited parking so just be ready to park on the street a bit away and walking in. The location itself is small. Narrow and deep. They squeeze in as many tables as they can around the walls while having a long countertop that runs the length of the kitchen. But, with all that said, and with them trying to cram in as many people as possible, it didn't feel too cramped. Only time we really felt the high density was when one of my kids needed to use the restroom and we had to find somewhere to stand and wait for it to become available. Outside of the front of the restaurant, there really is no space to just stand around. The food itself is wonderful. The burgers are no nonsense. They're not trying to be anything other than just a classic diner burger and fries. And that's exactly what I want from a place like this. Nothing is made for Instagram or to chase a trend. This place knows what they're good at because they've been doing it for decades and they don't stray from that. It's a total 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' mentality here and it's better off for it. My son got the chili and demolished it. I was worried he wouldn't like it, but it was anything but the case. I haven't seen him eat chili that fast in a long time. The dessert was good, but probably my least favorite part of the whole meal. I think I just wanted something different than what I ordered. I got the peach crumble and, while tasty, it just didn't scratch the pie itch I wanted. It was the perfect blend of soft and crispy. The crumble was good, but I think I wanted more of it. I'm being picky here, but I think it just slightly missed the mark. I really enjoyed my brunch at Pie N Burger. It was a wonderful outing. From the friendly staff to the classic food. It was just nice. And I absolutely look forward to coming back. Again and again.

The…read morerecipes and the preparation techniques are still part of the perfection of Pie 'N Burger tradition. Who would have thought that a sandwich from 1924 would continue to be a classic landmark throughout Pasadena, Los Angeles, California, and the US? When I lived overseas it was one of the few places that everybody knew the name of and what it was known for... it has become a part of an American tradition. When I walked into the quaint location, just off of Lake Avenue on California Boulevard, I felt like I was brought back to another era. Brianna was working the counter area and asked what I'd like to eat. I asked for some suggestions; I wanted a variety of different things that would give me a sense of what they could do as an old-style diner. She was quick to talk about the original Pie 'N Burger cheeseburger. I let her know that I wanted the deluxe edition. It's called the Big Ben. It's a double cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato pickles, onions, and bacon. This sounded perfect. I also wanted fries and onion rings. Chicken tenders were next on my list as people had talked about how good they were with their homemade dipping sauces. The Apple Pie was the sweet conclusion of my takeout order. I enjoyed the ambiance as my food was being prepared. There was a great smell and sound coming from the kitchen that indicated that everything being made as customers waited. After a short time my food was ready. I was asked if there was anything else that I wanted to add to my order, and was handed the bill. It is well known that cash is the only accepted payment. And they do have an ATM available. When I got home and unpacked my order, everything was still hot. I wasn't sure what to start with first! I decided to try each item as I unpacked it just to get a sense of the flavor. French fries were great - long fries with a crisp exterior and great for dipping. I decided to dip in the blue cheese rather than using the traditional ketchup. Good choice, their blue cheese and other sauces are homemade. You can taste the difference. Onion rings were also crisp exterior surrounding the onion. Also great for dipping! Chicken tenders were fried with a lightly fried exterior and moist and tender. This is a great appetizer to share. The Big Ben Burger lived up to its reputation. Large, flavorful, and a great eating experience. The American cheese with the lettuce tomato pickle and bacon was a great mix. The flavor of the meat was prevalent. To say that it was a mouthful would be an understatement! The dessert was the piece de resistance and worth waiting for...Apple Pie. The crust embraced the flavor of the filling. Flavorful apples with a little bite. Definitely homemade and full of fond memories. Like a really good apple pie should be. The best part about this experience is that I now look forward to coming back and trying other items on the menu. The Patty Melt, French toast, chili cheese fries, and boysenberry pie are all on my list to try with my next visits. Great experience, great food, friendly service!

Super Burger is owned by a super-nice Korean family. There are various Korean dishes in their menu available but I only go there for the burgers. What makes their simple burgers so great? First off the burger patty-- the patties are formed in-house. The cooked patties have that irregular edge that can only come from being hand-formed; imperfect and delicious. These aren't the frozen discs delivered by a freezer truck. The ratio of the ingredients are ideal. -- The tomato is sliced to the perfect thickness -- The freshly-shredded lettuce doesn't manspread and take up too much of the burger's real estate -- The thousand island dressing marries the freshness of the veggie section to the animal part perfectly -- The burger patty's girth is appropriately balanced for the other ingredients. -- Their buns have that old-school yeast(?) flavor not available in stores. Their burgers are lovingly prepared and assembled with care. This is why whenever I go, there are always people there. Seating is strictly patio style, looking out onto the intersection of Altadena and Villa. There lot is small lot next to the stand. I'm not sure if it's shared with another business. Street parking is available. Even though super burger is basically a corner burger stand with patio seating, the place is always clean. Super Burger is definitely a sure thing.
