Went to Lucky Box after doing some errands I got the Mochiko Chicken Plate, the Mochiko Chicken was Sweet, Crispy and piping hot they gave quite a lot and the order of fries we got was huge and tasty. the service was pretty good and the place was quite clean, parking was pretty adequate I'd like to go back to try their fish and chips it looked pretty good in the pictures.

Located in the Waikamilo center were they have McDonald's, Firestone, and many other restaurants and retailers. Had lunch there I ordered the BBQ chicken plate which was very good and tasty and a lot 3 pieces chicken, 2 scoops of rice and a scoop of macaroni salad. The regular can feed 2 people. My nephew had the Hamburger steak plate which also was huge and he couldn't finish it either, but he enjoyed it. Restaurant was clean and pretty busy, service was good

Today's order: combo plate (hamburger steak/pork cutlet) and a mini kalbi. Salad separate, gravy seperate. The Homemade hamburger is delicious. Not salty, not fatty, not dry. A The pork cutlet is very hard and dry. Probably my fault. It is meant to be smothered in gravy which helps to soften the coating off. It's a little thicker than expected, good portion size. Cutlet not seasoned enough. B+ (for my error) The kalbi is very nice. It could have been charred a little bit more, but the marinade is tasty. Meat is tender. A I like my rice softer than what I got, so next time I should order fries. I like trying new menu items, as the good ones keep me coming back. Definitely get a plate w a burger or a burger on a bun. Not dissapointed.

Stopped by Lucky Box for some breakfast since they open early at 7am on weekends which is super convenient. I went with the salt and pepper fish plate while my girlfriend got the garlic chicken. The fish came out smoking hot, and the flavor was solid though it leaned a bit too salty as I got further into the plate. The garlic chicken was decent, but unfortunately it was overcooked and ended up pretty dry and tough in texture. Overall, it's not a bad spot to grab a meal especially if you're looking for something early in the morning, but the food could use a little more consistency.

Came here hungry, left full... and mildly annoyed. The portions are fat -- like "I need a nap after this" fat. Taste-wise? Not bad, not great -- kind of like store-brand chips: edible, but you're not bragging about it. Service was meh. I asked for an extra container because mines was leaking, and they charged me $0.25 -- which I guess is the going rate for customer disappointment these days.

Mixed plate with beef stew. I loved the stew

Finally got to Lucky Box. Got my husband a mixed plate. So much food. I really liked the beef stew and the Mac salad. I find theTeri beef was kind of tough and dry. As you can see in the photo, the plate was overloaded with stew. It was good. Ice chunks of meat Lots of parking.

Today I got to try the Sweet Sour Ribs for $11.99 and it was a lot and very tasty. This place is offering a great deal.

Overwhelming amount of meat you can't tell but underneath the kalbi is a ton Teri beef, BBQ chicken, rice and Mac salad.

Lucky Box hits you with an overwhelming amount of protein and carbs in every box, maybe that's how you're "lucky"?! Veggies? Not what they do here. I vaguely remember this spot being Waikamilo Drive Inn back in the day, and even a Korean restaurant before that, but I'm glad someone has finally taken over because the local food here is solid. Portion sizes are no joke, you'll definitely have leftovers if you order a couple of boxes. Not everything's a home run (looking at you, kalbi and chili spaghetti), but there are some real winners: the garlic shrimp, hamburger steak, Teri Burger, chicken katsu, teri beef, BBQ chicken, garlic ahi, and basically all the breakfast boxes. My husband and I also think the mac salad in each order is quite tasty. Service is impressively fast, have no idea how they pull it off, but I've never waited more than 10 minutes. Calling ahead helps, but even if you walk in, the auntie running the show is on it. Super efficient, no nonsense, just trying to get people fed. For around or under $15 a plate, it's a steal. I always take my food to go, but they did renovate after Waikamilo, so it's got nice, clean vibes inside now. Parking is easy in the mall lot, which is another win. Definitely a solid spot for a fast and filling local meal!

Finally returned since I was in the area. I really wanted to try their Beef Broccoli with cake noodles the first time I came here but they were out of the cake noodles so I ordered this for myself and the Lemon Chicken for my husband. The portion they gave for both were very generous. My husband thought the chicken didn't have too much taste the first day but when he ate the leftovers the next day, he enjoyed it more. He feels it was because they gave a lot of chicken and only a small container of the sauce, knew he wouldn't have enough for the leftovers so he stretched it. If we order this again, we need to ask for an extra sauce or hope they read Yelp reviews to find out our needs. As for the Beef Broccoli with cake noodles, it was tasty but the noodles were overcooked so it was hard to eat. I remember the first time I came here, they ran out of cake noodles and was going to have more delivered so they informed me if I can come back in an hour or 2 so I'm assuming they're refrying it. I like my cake noodles crispy but this was hard crispy...don't think I'll be ordering this again. FYI: I didn't know about their "Specials" menu because it wasn't posted in the restaurant by the menu...it's posted on the window.

Feeling lucky... As the portion size here are quite impressive. I've been here a few times though it must be the food coma that has me forgetting to leave my review here and after taking my bestie to the bank near by it was after work so we were both hungry and as we were first talking boba it somehow turned to food as well and thought that this place would be perfect as they do literally have it all. Located in Waiakamilo Shopping Center which does offer lots of free parking we did so and made our way to see it completely empty so there was no pressure to ordering as we both had the intention of a burger and went into completely different direction with the huge selection as she got the Shrimp Garlic Spaghetti and I got the Mochiko Chicken. Lots of tables and booth seating to choose from and with condiments on each table this informal place sure does know how to take care of you while you enjoy your bite without worry as we chatted and was amazed with how they prepare the entire menu in this tiny kitchen. The lady at the register is just the friendlies as we first sat against the wall below the air conditioning and informed us that it drips and for us to move to another seating which we did so and thoroughly enjoyed our meal as she finished hers but struggled to finish my mini plate as it didn't even seem like I touched it at all lol! A great place everyone as you're lucky to have the yummy endless choices. Thank you!

After walking the aisles, I saw their prominent sign at their stand as well as the crowd around it (). We studied the menu as we waited our turn with three people ahead of us. It was an easy decision for me with my propensity for pineapple drinks in ordering the Ginger Kolada (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=emfkmx2ayYTc9WInmUryjA). I was a little worried about the ginger flavor overwhelming the coconut and pineapple flavors but they were quickly dispelled. This was a refreshing drink and the ginger added a crispness to it along with the mint. I would get this again. My friend enjoyed his hibiscus drink. After ordering, we walked to the left of the tent where they made an expediting station. As drinks were made, the attentive gal called out order numbers. After a 6-7 minute wait, we were on our way. It was interesting to watch the mixologist craft the drinks akin to watching a bartender at work. I look forward to stopping here again and perhaps trying a seasonal flavor. My first time here I got the strawberry lychee, which was super good!! If you want a less sweet option the passion fruit mango has more of a tang/tartness. We got lucky the first time we came (on a Sunday morning), as there was no line. The second time we came there was a wait of about 10 people in front of us!! I'm told that's pretty normal for this shop. While waiting in line the sweet owner handed out samples of the strawberry blueberry smoothie--also amazing and a combination I probably wouldn't have ordered on my own. Parking is super easy with the complimentary structure, and the café is located on the bottom floor alongside other vendors. One thing I immediately appreciated was how well air-conditioned the entire market is--it's nice and cool, which makes sitting and eating there really comfortable. The cashier recommended the turkey pesto croissant, but suggested swapping it onto ciabatta since it's one of her favorites--and I'm so glad I trusted her. It was phenomenal. The flavors were balanced, the bread held everything together perfectly, and it felt like a step above your typical sandwich. I also had what looked like a simple salad, but the vinaigrette and candied pistachios really elevated it and made it feel more thoughtful than expected. The staff across the board were friendly and welcoming, and there's plenty of seating--whether inside the café or out in the open market area. Honestly, the value surprised me the most. I've been here multiple times for lunch and had multiple different items. The acai bowl are good. I like getting the Nalu salad which is always a decent serving and tastes fresh. The sandwiches are also pretty tasty. My main issue is the service. I'm not sure if part of their training is to ignore the customer as much as possible because that has been my experience on multiple occasions. The most recent visit, I had ordered online and was going to pick up m food for takeout. There were three workers at the front just talking. I walked to the counter and was ignored. I could see where the orders are placed and didn't see anything there so figured my order wasn't ready yet. I stood on the side for at least 5 minutes without any greeting or acknowledgement. Not a single person made eye contact with me. When I saw an order placed on the back counter one of them grabbed it and placed it on the takeout counter without calling out the name and went back to chatting. I had to actively try to get their attention at which point I was looked at like I was bothering them. Asked if my order was ready and was handed it without any further interaction. I don't expect happy go lucky people and conversation but at least basic customer service.

And yes, now I will absolutely be thinking about them often. If you think you know cake noodles because you've had Cantonese noodles before, Lee Ho Fook in Honolulu's Chinatown is here to humble you. I was definitely humbled. Tucked along the canal in Chinatown, Lee Ho Fook Restaurant is one of those cozy little neighborhood spots where the tables are close, the room is snug, and the noodles do all the talking. My Honolulu homies, twinsie "Auntie" Nadine C. and Cycle Buddy Randy S., brought me here for noodles and I'm eternally grateful they did. We ordered the Minute Chicken Cake Noodles, tossed noodles with choi sum and won ton, plus a side of ong choy. Every plate understood the assignment. As an Arizona girl, I had never had minute chicken or cake noodles before and fully assumed they'd be in the same lane as Cantonese noodles. Yelpers, I was wrong. Delightfully wrong. Cake noodles are a Cantonese classic but the magic is all in the texture: pan-fried until golden and crisp on the outside, while the center stays soft enough to soak up all that glossy savory sauce. It's the best of both noodle worlds - crispy and chewy. A true textural delight. The Minute Chicken Cake Noodles were the star for me. That contrast between the crispy edges and soft middle was wildly satisfying, and the chicken was silky, savory, and exactly the kind of comfort food that makes you stop mid-bite just to appreciate what's happening. The tossed noodles with choi sum and won ton were equally comforting in a more classic, no-fuss way, and the ong choy was the perfect green side dish that was garlicky, fresh, and necessary. Lee Ho Fook is small, comforting, and exactly the kind of place you want when what you really need is a bowl of something delicious and humble. Come hungry, bring a few friends, and order the cake noodles.
