Today after dropping hubs off for his eye surgery by 10:15 am I thought: glory be! Possibly 4 hours of freedom. However by the time noon rolled along I was getting hungry. The first place I tried was closed. I decided to eat close to Dole Cannery. Fortunately I found a space right in front for picking hubs up later so I took it. Long story short, I decided to check out the food court at Dole Cannery. I saw an elderly man eating solo and seemed his choice was yummy. I asked him Did you get it from Fat Boys? He said Hamburger Steak mini. I was intrigued cuz hubs always gets that any place we end up 90% of the time. I don't think I've ever ordered hamburger steak. Today would be the day to give it a try. Oh my! The gravy on the rice was perfect. The hamburger steak was soft and delicious- the secret must be in their gravy. Literally broke da mout'. I'd definitely order this for myself if we are in the area. I miss having Fat boys by Costco in Waipio but now I found them. read more

Located at Dole Cannery, on the Ground Level, there's a lot of shared seating in the spacious Food Court. Service was very helpful and friendly! I was happy that my plate included two side dishes! They were labeled - and the cashier pointed out each item. I selected cucumber kimchi and choi sum. One of the fishes of the day was Ono. I chose it because it's not very common. I took the pan-fried preparation that came with Garlic ponzu butter dipping sauce... yum! I even poured that sauce on my rice! I look forward to returning! read more

Love this spot for a quick bite. If you work in the Iwilei area this courtyard is a good option with about 3 spots to get a bite. I like to stop in for fries and tater tots. Lots of seating in the courtyard. staff is friendly, service is quick. read more

I love that they have daily specials--many are so fancy! This time i tried their clam chowder in sourdough bread bowl and steak plate with fish combo. The clam chowder was ok. It was mainly huge potatoes in a bread bowl. Barely any chowder so rather disappointing. But the steak and fish plate was delish. The steak was not a lot but was super tender. Omg-my trip is now complete. I was going to the Fatboy's in Hawaii Kai for several years and after they closed, I was on the hunt for their amazing furikake shrimp with ponzu sauce so on a whim we called all of the Fatboy's on the island and found this gem. Located inside The Dole Cannery across from the movie theater, Fatboy's is in this little food court. We were fortunate to meet Carl who was just wonderful; so warm and kind, served us these huge shrimp plates with massive furikake shrimp, fried to golden perfection, with the buttery garlic ponzu sauce--to die for!! And just for giggles, we also had a side of garlic fried chicken. All of it came out fresh, so delicious *chef's kiss* So glad we found one of my all time fave meals on the island! Located at the Dole Cannery food court (across from the theaters). Nice to have an additional option to Subway, Olena's and the Mini Mart. We come here (Dole Cannery) often and were excited to see them building out the new space. Needless to say, we were very excited to see it finally open. We were here on a weekday lunch and there were a good number of people waiting at the window (both ordering and waiting to pick up their orders). Service seemed a little slow. Maybe they're still working things out. The cashier had to ask a few waiting customers what their orders were/what they were waiting for to sort out the orders. Didn't seem to bother anyone though (at least not outwardly) and everyone seemed content to wait. Good variety of breakfast/lunch/dinner options. Plate lunches, burgers, etc. to satisfy whatever you might be craving. Can't go wrong with the garlic chicken, btw. One suggestion: make the menu board larger. Located inside Dole Cannery, across the street from the theaters, is a wide takeout window with a just-as-wide menu above it, lined with tons of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. I've eaten there three times already and I'll be there many more times. Poke bowl, assorted side dishes, bentos, and specials are all good. Loco moco was good too, nicely charred burger. The fried chicken and garlic fried chicken were super ono! Eat it fresh, since there are plenty of seats. The fatboys bento was just like the zip pac, but better tasting. Wonderful new addition to the food court at the Dole Cannery. I've had food from here twice and really enjoyed both occasions. Once our office catered breakfast from here, and today I had an office-provided bento from here. The breakfast contained standard brekky items like eggs, Portuguese sausage, and fried rice. All were great! The bento I had today had all kinds of meat items like garlic chicken, fish, teri beef, fish, spam, and a hotdog. My fave was the teri beef, which had almost no fat on it! My coworker tried a smashed burger from here, with bacon, and she said it was excellent. I recommend giving this new place a try if you are at Costco or otherwise in the Iwilei area. read more

I recently had dinner from here and would definitely go back. We tried the bacon burger which was very good. $2 to add the bacon is worth it. And to go with the burger, we also got garlic fries. Both the fries and the garlic were fresh. The garlic formed a few clumps but that's normal - just look out for them if you don't want any unexpected super-loaded bites! They also have tater tots (with and without garlic!) and I'm a sucker for those, so I'll have to get them next time. I also had to get the lechon kawali which I would recommend. Plates come with white rice and 2 sides. We got mac salad and edamame, but they also have toss salad, corn, bean sprouts, cabbage, and spicy cucumber. I could have eaten heaps of the edamame. They were delicious and perfect, and I also just love when I don't have to remove them from the pods myself LOL. The mac salad was fine, but I would try other sides before getting it again. The food is fine but the aunty who works there is so rude. Never says hi or thank you even though I always say it to her.

I want to give more stars because I do like the food and weekly specials. Their breakfast is great! But the lady at the register ruins this place for me. I like going there when she is not there. She will ignore me when I'm at the register and go off to do other things, and is usually quite rude. When the owner or even one of the cooks takes my order, I have a better experience. read more

The elderly lady with the short hair and glasses at the register is extremely rude. My husband and I witnessed her being rude to 2 tourists who wanted to pay cash and the rest on card. They had coins left that they can't use back home but she kept refusing to take them and repeated to them how it's not enough money and to "just pay altogether". I've been here maybe twice, both times the lady at the register is so incredibly rude. She always has an attitude and talks to customers like we're such a huge inconvenience to her. Last time she somehow lost my order taking the ticket from the register to where the cooks were, resulting in me waiting over 30 minutes for a bag of tater tots. This time she had her usual attitude and didn't even look up from her screen. When she "asked" what I wanted for my side, without looking up or even saying anything, she just pointed at the CLOSED containers of sides that still had the lids on and waited while I tried to figure out what she was pointing at. They have a lot of options and the cashier was always cheerful and helpful. He and the guys in the kitchen always had a smile on their faces when I smiled at them. the food came out pretty quickly and the taste was what you would expect from chicken fingers, beef fingers, sausages and fried fish but the important thing is when you talk to the cashier you feel positive and happy if I come again and the cashier is still cheerful I will continue to try other items in the shop because honestly the attitude of the staff is more important than the food read more

Happy to see a new place open at Dole Cannery. Compared to the other offerings in the area, the menu is pretty expansive and has local favorites as well as Specials. I tried the regular sized chicken adobo. It came with two sides and 3 scoops of rice and 3 chicken thighs. Overall, cost was about $17 which is typical for the area. The food was made to order and was really good. Since this place was fairly new, the line was 5 people deep. But the line went by pretty quickly. This place is definitely worth a try. read more
