Went on June 3rd 2025 for two mini plates BBQ Chicken the food was great lots of chicken to eat for a mini. The service is awesome I called ahead to go order when I got there it was hot n ready to go. The ambience is chill a lot of tables to eat on too nice n clean.
A couple of months ago, my friend picked up a combo plate for us and we enjoyed it! They were generous with the banchans and the food was tasty so decided to pick up our lunch from here. I ordered the BBQ Chicken for my husband without rice so I can choose an extra banchan. He chose bean sprouts, choy sum, mayo potatoes, shoyu potatoes and chop chae (noodles). It came with almost 4 pieces of chicken thighs. Asked him if he enjoyed the food? He gave me a thumbs up! I ordered the Meat Jun for myself also without rice so I can choose an extra banchan. My choices were mayo potatoes, bean sprouts, seaweed, choy sum and chop chae (noodles). They gave 3 larges pieces of Meat Jun...wish it was cut into 2" strips for easy eating. Took it home so I cut the Meat Jun and the BBQ Chicken into bite size pieces. Food came out pretty fast. When she passed me the bag, I swear it was over 5 pounds...soooo much food! It could feed us for 2 or more meals each! I like that they let you choose from 12 different banchans instead of having the same 3 banchans other Korean places prepare for all plates AND you have to take the rice. Once this happens, I usually avoid going back but...I will definitely be back at Peppa's! The workers are pleasant and food was very tasty. This place is located in the Kamehameha Shopping Center and lots of free parking.
Peppa's Korean BBQ has become one of our regular spots especially when we're not sure what to eat and find ourselves really hungry. We usually end up here at least once a month, and it never disappoints when it comes to portion size. The plates are absolutely massive, easily enough for two meals, which makes the price pretty reasonable. My usual order is the kalbi with either bbq chicken or meat junn. The kalbi is tasty, though it's cut thinner than I prefer, and the chicken can sometimes be a bit dry. Still, the flavors are solid overall. The meat junn, on the other hand, is large, flavorful, and satisfying. The sides are always a highlight. They're well prepared and complement the mains perfectly. My personal favorites are the mayo potato and long rice they're consistently good and always hit the spot. Peppa's might not be fancy, but when you're craving a hearty, filling meal, it definitely gets the job done.
Food is yummy for the tummy haha.Food is cooked fresh and just taste so good.Great place to order out or eat in with family and friends
Solid choice for Korean BBQ. Prices for these days isn't bad. Some of the competition is $23 or $5 more per plate. I get the combo plate and it's either two meals or share with my other half. Combos are about $21. Double protein basically. Portions are decent. Sides are very average and basic. All the usuals. If you go early they'll have egg. After lunch forget it.
Very standard spot for me to go to when I want to make sure I'm eating veggies haha. Wait is usually around 15-25 minutes. They give a little less sides now... just a bit. I normally get a yukgaejang or meat jun (or combo with kalbi). Yummy. They are inconsistent with sides, sometimes the bean sprouts are seasoned really well and other times barely seasoned. Sometimes the cucumber kimchi is bad and sometimes it's good. I tried the new spicy fried chicken this time, and it was ok. I wouldn't get it again but it wasn't bad.
Hole-in-the-wall location (like so many other Hawaii food spots) serving up Korean/Hawaiian fixings. Portions are massive here so be warned. I got the Peppas Special with comes with Kal Bi, Chicken, and beef for the proteins. Plus 4 sides of vegetables of your choice, 2 scoops of rice, and a fried man doo + zucchini. There's a lot of vegetable sides to choose from and my favorites were the mac salad and the japchae. The kimchi was kind of a let down and didn't have much flavor, which was weird because I tried my gf's spicy cucumbers (which have a similar flavor profile) and those were way better. For the meats, the Kal Bi was the best meat so I recommend getting that. The chicken was also very tender and flavorful. And the beef was just okay. You can either eat at the store or take it to-go. There's no real service as you go up to the counter, order your food, and then they'll call your number when it's ready. But overall I think this is a pretty good spot to get some good food and huge portions.
I had stopped here to pick up a plate lunch for my grandma and I to share. I got the meat jun and fish jun mixed plate with 4 sides. The sides were delicious and it's nice to have 4 sides with your entree. While I was eating the meat jun, there was a sand like texture in my mouth. I looked through the meat jun and to my horror, IT WASN'T COMPLETELY COOKED!! I was in shock and had to hurry to take it away from my grandma. My grandma is old and I didn't want her to get sick from the food. The rice was also so much that it just stuck together in one piece. With the different delicious restaurants in Kam Shopping Center, I'd give this place a pass and go somewhere where the food is cooked thoroughly.
I love Peppa's, but have not eaten at this location yet. When we passed by at Kamehameha Shopping Center, we stopped in for dinner. They were quite busy as people were popping in and out. I got the mini kalbi plate $17.99 with a side of four piece mandoo $4.29. The hubby got the bbq chicken plate. The mini plate comes with two sides and the regular plate comes with four sides. I subbed out my rice with another side, so I got the shoyu potatoes, mayo potatoes and pickled cucumber. The food was delicious. The kalbi was nicely marinated and had that char taste to it. I especially liked the mayo potatoes. Some places don't add enough mayo, so it's dry. This place drenched the potatoes in mayo. Some people might not care for it, but I live for it, lol. The prices here were kind of high. It's the same prices as Yummy's at Ala Moana Food Court and I know the rent there is much higher. The food at the Ala Moana Yummy's isn't as good as here though. read more

This is definitely my go to peppas. Always fresh and the sides are definitely best quality. There's always a bunch of people picking up or even just sitting in. I've seen whole families. And they are quick! I went to GameStop which is a couple doors down for about ten minutes; came back and it was ready!!. Can't beat the portions either ~ I'll be back ~ read more

Stopped into Peppa's for an easy dinner and it did not disappoint. A lot of food for the price! It's counter service and also buffet style for your sides so outs pretty quick to grab food and sit at a table. I had the mini plate with chicken, cucumbers, and japchae. The chicken was tender and it had great bbq flavor, the cucumbers had a little spice but were crunchy and great, and the japchae was great as well! This lasted me about three meals! read more

Luck of the draw. Sometimes of the servers are generous with the sides. Some are very chintzy and barely fill above the partition. Those times I feel like they're cheating me cause the prices are so high. Kalbi is good though read more
4 1/2 stars! I got a chicken-bulgogi plate to-go and it was weight heavy! For $20, its a sharable serving. The ban chan servings look fresh and replenished. The flavors overall were delicious as expected. 1/2 star deduction because I thought the Mac salad didn't taste like the creamy mac-salad I remembered and there was not a chopped turnip ban chan. I feel its my personal preference so I won't hold it against them. Also, since the service and our take-out mega plate was semi-quick and weight-heavy, really no outright complaints! read more

Prior to this it was Yummy's Korean BBQ now changed to Peppa's. Nothing has really changed, just the name. I do notice sometimes there's inconsistency. Potato salad is good some days, other days its just mayo on potatoes. Another day it's really garlicky. Meat juns pretty consistent here I noticed regular plate and mini, they give the same amount of meat jun. You would think a regular would have 1 more added. I came here, the customer service isn't really good. The woman in the front took a few minutes to take my order, although she saw me walk in. Instead of getting off a personal call ( i could tell because she continued talking and then told them to wait after taking my order went back on the phone ). I felt like I was intruding and interrupting her. I kinda rushed ordered. Parking is plenty. As it's right in Kam shopping center. But it can be difficult because parking does get busy with all the other stores in the area. read more
Definitely my go to for a last minute dinner. Been going here since I was a little kid. They changed the name of the company but still have the same old workers. The place it always good. The portions are always big. And if you ask for no rice you get an extra choice of side vegetables. My favorite dish Eder is always the kalbi and chicken combo but this time I got the kalbi and fish jun. the vegetable sides are always good and always can't finish it in just one sitting. read more

Food and service are consistently very tasty. Pretty good sized portions too. Regular BBQ chicken plate comes with 3 regular sized thighs and 4 veggies of choice - easily good for 2 meals. Mini comes with 2 veggies. Place is always clean. read more

I was supposed to hook up with my childhood homie - Mark C. in the new year, but during that time, the Covid-19 numbers were rising towards the end of 2020/early 2021, so my friend suggested to me if we could hold off on getting together for lunch. Since then, the Covid-19 numbers had dropped significantly, so I decided to ring my homie up to see if he was down for lunch. Sure enough we finally hooked up in early February 2021 for lunch, and a Korean plate lunch was the choice for the new year. Where to go for a Korean plate lunch??? My 1st choice for a Korean plate lunch was to go down to the - "Yummy's Korean BBQ" in Kalihi, and after I drove down to the joint in Kalihi (right next door to the Kalihi Foodland), I realized this Yummy's Korean BBQ joint had shut down it's business for good - (Insert SAD Panda face here)! Determined to get my Korean plate lunch, I told my friend that there was another Yummy's near by at the Kamehameha Shopping Center, so off we went to go get our Korean plate lunch at the Kamehameha Shopping Center. When I got to the Kamehameha Shopping Center, I realized that the Yummy's Korean BBQ restaurant had shut down too, and that the restaurant was replaced by a Peppa's Korean BBQ. Hey! Better yet..........I Like Peppa's!!!! So we enter the Korean BBQ joint, and basically it's the same set up as a Yummy's Korean BBQ. You order your food, pick your sides, then pay for your plate. At this time, Peppa's is only open for "take out", and no inside dining due to Covid-19. I ended up getting a BBQ Chicken plate, and for my sides I got Kim Chee, Cabbage, Choy Sum, Egg, & Long Rice. My friend got a Mini Spicy Chicken plate & for his sides he got White Rice, Mac Salad, & Spicy Cucumber. What can I say about the grub??? If you like MASSIVE amount of food, then you've come to the right place! :D I actually like the taste of the marinades that Peppa's uses on their BBQ chicken, and I like the fact that they don't burn the chicken leaving excessive charcoal marks on the meat. The sides were pretty much standard, and I find it as good, if not better than what you would get at Yummy's. Hangry for Korean??? Check out Peppa's Korean BBQ at the Kamehameha Shopping Center. read more
