I love Peppa's, but have not eaten at this location yet. When we passed by at Kamehameha Shopping Center, we stopped in for dinner. They were quite busy as people were popping in and out. I got the mini kalbi plate $17.99 with a side of four piece mandoo $4.29. The hubby got the bbq chicken plate. The mini plate comes with two sides and the regular plate comes with four sides. I subbed out my rice with another side, so I got the shoyu potatoes, mayo potatoes and pickled cucumber. The food was delicious. The kalbi was nicely marinated and had that char taste to it. I especially liked the mayo potatoes. Some places don't add enough mayo, so it's dry. This place drenched the potatoes in mayo. Some people might not care for it, but I live for it, lol. The prices here were kind of high. It's the same prices as Yummy's at Ala Moana Food Court and I know the rent there is much higher. Tried their Bi Bim Bap for the first time today. It was delicious. The rice was perfectly sticky, lots of vegetables and a generous helping of BBQ beef to top it off. Very, very delicious. A couple of months ago, my friend picked up a combo plate for us and we enjoyed it! They were generous with the banchans and the food was tasty so decided to pick up our lunch from here. I ordered the BBQ Chicken for my husband without rice so I can choose an extra banchan. He chose bean sprouts, choy sum, mayo potatoes, shoyu potatoes and chop chae (noodles). It came with almost 4 pieces of chicken thighs. Asked him if he enjoyed the food? He gave me a thumbs up! I ordered the Meat Jun for myself also without rice so I can choose an extra banchan. My choices were mayo potatoes, bean sprouts, seaweed, choy sum and chop chae (noodles). They gave 3 larges pieces of Meat Jun...wish it was cut into 2" strips for easy eating. Took it home so I cut the Meat Jun and the BBQ Chicken into bite size pieces. Food came out pretty fast. When she passed me the bag, I swear it was over 5 pounds...soooo much food! It could feed us for 2 or more meals each! I like that they let you choose from 12 different banchans instead of having the same 3 banchans other Korean places prepare for all plates AND you have to take the rice. Peppa's Korean BBQ has become one of our regular spots especially when we're not sure what to eat and find ourselves really hungry. We usually end up here at least once a month, and it never disappoints when it comes to portion size. The plates are absolutely massive, easily enough for two meals, which makes the price pretty reasonable. My usual order is the kalbi with either bbq chicken or meat junn. The kalbi is tasty, though it's cut thinner than I prefer, and the chicken can sometimes be a bit dry. Still, the flavors are solid overall. The meat junn, on the other hand, is large, flavorful, and satisfying. The sides are always a highlight. They're well prepared and complement the mains perfectly. My personal favorites are the mayo potato and long rice they're consistently good and always hit the spot. We were regulars at this location when it was Yummy's but they sort of lost us over time when the portions just seemed to shrink. The last Bibikimkooksoo we ordered had a sliver of chicken...and our other plate just seemed skimpy. Decided to give it another try today and discovered Peppa's replaced Yummy and we were pleased that quality seems the same but portions seem more like what Yummy's (and most Korean restaurants) used to serve. I normally get a yukgaejang or meat jun (or combo with kalbi). Yummy. They are inconsistent with sides, sometimes the bean sprouts are seasoned really well and other times barely seasoned. I got the Peppas Special with comes with Kal Bi, Chicken, and beef for the proteins. Plus 4 sides of vegetables of your choice, 2 scoops of rice, and a fried man doo + zucchini. There's a lot of vegetable sides to choose from and my favorites were the mac salad and the japchae. The kimchi was kind of a let down and didn't have much flavor, which was weird because I tried my gf's spicy cucumbers (which have a similar flavor profile) and those were way better. For the meats, the Kal Bi was the best meat so I recommend getting that. The chicken was also very tender and flavorful. And the beef was just okay. You can either eat at the store or take it to-go. There's no real service as you go up to the counter, order your food, and then they'll call your number when it's ready. But overall I think this is a pretty good spot to get some good food and huge portions. read more

This makes no sense to me because the prices went up. It's also so annoying to hear them gossip in Ilocano for everyone to hear. This is about the only time I notice them smiling...when gossiping. It's too bad they cannot greet you with a smile. I watched these two new staff interact with customers. Not the same quality service as years ago when the other two Filipina ladies took good care of customers. As an example, a gentleman had never been there before and couldn't decide what to order; rather than assist the customer, the staff (taller Filipina lady) acted like a robot, simply repeating what was on the menu with a flat affect face. I am sure this was not the first customer that left, vowing never to return to this place again. The quality of Peppa's food is not the same. Portion sizes down. Prices up. Customer service disappointingly down. I don't see people dining in like before. Management should consider making changes or you will lose more customers. read more

I had stopped here to pick up a plate lunch for my grandma and I to share. I got the meat jun and fish jun mixed plate with 4 sides. The sides were delicious and it's nice to have 4 sides with your entree. While I was eating the meat jun, there was a sand like texture in my mouth. I looked through the meat jun and to my horror, IT WASN'T COMPLETELY COOKED!! I was in shock and had to hurry to take it away from my grandma. My grandma is old and I didn't want her to get sick from the food. The rice was also so much that it just stuck together in one piece. With the different delicious restaurants in Kam Shopping Center, I'd give this place a pass and go somewhere where the food is cooked thoroughly. read more

Definitely my go to for a last minute dinner. Been going here since I was a little kid. They changed the name of the company but still have the same old workers. The place it always good. Prior to this it was Yummy's Korean BBQ now changed to Peppa's. Nothing has really changed, just the name. I do notice sometimes there's inconsistency. Potato salad is good some days, other days its just mayo on potatoes. Another day it's really garlicky. Meat juns pretty consistent here I noticed regular plate and mini, they give the same amount of meat jun. You would think a regular would have 1 more added. I came here, the customer service isn't really good. The woman in the front took a few minutes to take my order, although she saw me walk in. Instead of getting off a personal call ( i could tell because she continued talking and then told them to wait after taking my order went back on the phone ). I felt like I was intruding and interrupting her. I kinda rushed ordered. Parking is plenty. As it's right in Kam shopping center. Think about yummy's combinations and add about 7-10 more combos to choose from. Plus add new menu item like bbq pork chops, and other weekly specials. The restaurant itself has about seven small booths, which are clean. It's surprising since it is in such a small spot. The counter help is quick and efficient. Determined to get my Korean plate lunch, I told my friend that there was another Yummy's near by at the Kamehameha Shopping Center, so off we went to go get our Korean plate lunch at the Kamehameha Shopping Center. When I got to the Kamehameha Shopping Center, I realized that the Yummy's Korean BBQ restaurant had shut down too, and that the restaurant was replaced by a Peppa's Korean BBQ. Hey! Better yet..........I Like Peppa's!!!! So we enter the Korean BBQ joint, and basically it's the same set up as a Yummy's Korean BBQ. You order your food, pick your sides, then pay for your plate. At this time, Peppa's is only open for "take out", and no inside dining due to Covid-19. I ended up getting a BBQ Chicken plate, and for my sides I got Kim Chee, Cabbage, Choy Sum, Egg, & Long Rice. My friend got a Mini Spicy Chicken plate & for his sides he got White Rice, Mac Salad, & Spicy Cucumber. What can I say about the grub??? If you like MASSIVE amount of food, then you've come to the right place! :D I actually like the taste of the marinades that Peppa's uses on their BBQ chicken, and I like the fact that they don't burn the chicken leaving excessive charcoal marks on the meat. Which your choices of sides is Kim Chee, Corn, Sprouts, potato, Mac salad, Tofu, Cabbage, Long Rice, Seaweed etc). As of late I been buying their ALL VEGGIE plate with Consist of 5 choices of sides, I normally get the *Potato with mayo *Kim CHEE *Long Rice *Tofu *Seaweed Salad.
