Upon entering, a few staff members were arguing at the front, making it very awkward as we had to wait to the side for them to finish so that we could be seated. I honestly wanted to leave, but my kids wanted to stay. I had them look at the claw machines until we were ready to be taken to our seats. Some of the staff continued to openly argue in the dining area during the remainder of our time there. We arrived around noon, and the food selection was okay. Some items were sitting in the pans for so long that they became soggy or chewy. The tempura shrimp tasted really good when it first came out, but when I went to get some for my dad they were very hard to eat. I wish the selection was a little broader, as it is mainly seafood. None of the items were labeled. The younger lady that was making rounds to clear plates from tables was pleasant and really the only positive part of our first time experience here.. So why the mixed reviews? Let me break it down for you, as I've been there for both lunch and dinner. SERVICE: The main lady, who I'm assuming is the manager, has an unusual seating arrangement system. When you get there and pay, the cashier will tell you it's a 10-minute wait. Meanwhile, no one else is in the lobby waiting, and the interior of the restaurant isn't busy. The main lady is the one who seats you. The service staff is nice, but they are not "on top of it." The servers don't ask if you want drink refills. You have to tell them. They are literally there to pick up your plates and bring you drinks. Also, the poor things don't even have trays to carry the drinks. They always look miserable, like they're working a 16-hour shift but are only halfway through the lunch rush. None of them are mean; they just always look so exhausted. Additionally, the main lady doesn't speak kindly to the wait staff. She constantly seems angry at them. FOOD: They do offer a lot of variety of sushi, sashimi, korean bbq, hot foods such as a full ham, a full beef, fried fish, seafood boils, beef and broccoli, and their infamous coconut shrimp. All very tasty dishes. Again the food is good and tasty, but it comes with a price. The sushi is not sitting on refrigeration or ice, so any of the raw fish does not hold a temperature of 41 degrees or less. The same goes for the salad bar area, where at night they have raw oysters and cooked shrimp. The oysters had ice all around them, but according to the health inspection, their refrigeration unit is not up to standard and is not elevated off the floor. Their raw fish is also not stored properly while waiting to be made into sushi. It's just "under the counter." Similar violations were noted for their raw chicken and various other products containing cooked fish. All of this is to say that it doesn't matter how they present it; it's not at the right temperatures by the time it reaches your plate. OVERALL: I had a great time on Valentine's Day with my husband. I had been wanting to try this place for dinner for quite some time, and we didn't want a fussy, overpriced Valentine's dinner. This place seemed like a great option. I had eaten there a month prior for lunch for the first time, and it was nice, but I didn't have any of the additional items they served for dinner. This time, they had all the options available, and it seemed nice; however, within 24 hours, I became violently ill from food poisoning, and my husband just wasn't feeling great either. I suffered for four days with fevers, rashes, and everything expelling from my body. When I looked up their infractions, it suddenly made sense. This is one of my parents' favorite buffet restaurants and they often drive here from Santa Clarita. The staff knows them and we get great and friendly customer service. Our glasses are never empty of beverages and they are so quick to take our plates as we finish them, leaving our table clean and organized. I don't know when they changed owners but the place is improved since I last saw it. It is your typical family friendly restaurant with ample seating and ample space. The restaurant was busy but now packed on a Saturday lunch rush. The food never ran out and the dishes are rotating. I like to keep it simple and grab roast at the carving station, simple veggies for sides seafood. Most of the dishes are PanAsian-inspired. For me, dinner is the best time to go since food isn't limited. Unlike lunch, some foods are off limits like seafoods and meats. My SO and I originally came for lunch but when we heard about the limitations, we opted to pay for the dinner price instead which isn't bad. Drinks aren't included in the price. Most of the food that I have tried were good except the beef roast which lacked any flavor but tender enough. Some of the sushi rolls were a bit disappointing too - the rice wasn't fresh and they were kind of hard. I would come back here again and would recommend it to my friends. Prices vary between weekdays and weekends and they offer discounts to seniors and military members. This place can accommodate a lot. It wasn't busy when we went, and customer service was good. My parents enjoy this place. Every time I'm in town, we almost always take them here. Personally, for me it's ok. The sushi bar I don't trust. Does not look fresh. I stick to cooked dishes here to be safe. I've had the salmon before and it was pretty good. Their fried rice is one of my favorites. The service is ok. Not the friendliest. The cleanliness of this place is ok. They seem to have very sticky floors. My shoes will make that noise and I can feel the grip every time I walk. They do give senior discounts here. I have been here a few times and the last time I came will most likely be my last. The food used to be tastier & the more I visit it's way less flavorful. This restaurant is not family-oriented. We wanted to check out this place to celebrate our mother's birthday with our family. We had three families attending, for a total party of 12. My family of four arrived first and looked for a table that could accommodate our entire group. We were rudely told that a party of four could only sit at a table for four, and that any table larger than seven seats would require a 15% increase in price. When my siblings arrived, they were told the same thing. Despite there being plenty of larger tables available, the staff refused to seat us together as one family. Instead, we were told to sit separately at smaller tables, which completely defeated the purpose of celebrating a special occasion together. The staff was rude, unwelcoming, and showed no interest in accommodating our group or making our experience enjoyable. We requested a refund and took our business elsewhere. What should have been a memorable birthday celebration turned into a frustrating and disappointing experience. Ok service but the food quality is trash and the selection is limited. We went there with a big appetite after a full day of shopping and were pleasantly surprised to find there wasn't a wait and were seated immediately. Given it's a Chinese buffet I anticipated lots of shellfish, etc but everything else was seasoned with nothing but salt and pepper and steamed to the point of becoming chewy. Still hungry and not to be deterred, I made my way over to the Mongolian BBQ station. Typically it's hard to go wrong with that but things only got worse from there. The meat was unlabeled (is it beef or is it lamb? Chicken? Even they weren't sure). And there were only a few veggies to choose from (no raw garlic, scallions, broccoli, etc). The staff is super great and they're on top of it to make sure that your drink cup is always full and your empty plates are removed so there is space on the table for more plates. their policies don't make sense. they're very greedy & will charge extra for everything. their staff is rude. came with a family of 10+ people. the host was going to charge us an extra 15% just to be seated together. this was in the early afternoon, there were a bunch of empty tables, so it didn't make sense. we decided to pay separately and were seated in separate booths. when we tried to sit at each other's tables, the staff gave us a hard time about it. they watched us the entire time. it was uncomfortable because there were a couple servers literally standing across the room facing our table like Michael Myers. they did collect our plates, but never refilled our drinks (which are not included with the meal, it's a separate charge) we asked for a water and never got it. we had a pregnant woman with us, she was asking the staff questions about some of the dishes (because she's pregnant and also has food allergies) they were very impatient and unaccommodating to her needs. they started transitioning into dinner service early. it's supposed to start at 3:30, but they began putting out the dinner food at 3. SOME people in my group got dinner items, but they tried to charge ALL of us the extra dinner fee (mind you, we all paid and were seated separately). this policy should have been explained before we paid. we let them know about the error before leaving, but they gave us a hard time about it and refused to correct our receipts. so we refused to pay for any of the extra charges. they told us not to come back, we weren't planning to anyways. their service is trash. their food isn't all that great to be doing all that. I really had high hopes for this place. The owner commented on a review about the time and money they spent updating this place from the last one. Unfortunately that's not the experience I had. The first person I spoke to was pushy and rude. I didn't understand what he was asking and he acted like I was I salting him. No sir I'm just hard of hearing. The lady who took us to our seat sat us right next to the buffet in one side and a table full of people in the other. I asked if we could move one row back where there wasn't anyone else sitting and she said no. The restaurant wasn't even a third full I really didn't think on it sitting to people would be an issue. As for the food, it was a hit or miss kinda thing. The kimchi was old and didn't crunch. Some of the food looked like it had been sitting g there for a long while. The sushi I wouldn't recommend.
