Fruits de mer grillées sur linguini / Seafood Linguini
Cristina N.

I don't know why this place has 3.5 stars. The food is A+ and our server Emil was fantastic. Ok so the seafood linguini was out of this world. Perfect portion loaded with octopus, calamari, mussels, shrimp and chorizo. It packed some heat which they kindly reduced because I'm a delicate flower and can't eat too spicy. A++ My coworker had the octopus salad. The octopus was a really generous portion and it was so tender. We shared the burrata and it had an anchovy sauce ... yum! You like cheese? You like bread? Eat this!! If you're in this area, eat here. That's it.

Fillet Mignon with green salad

Pooh and I had supper here tonight. The restaurant was busy and we didn't have a reservation but we had a table within 30 seconds. The music was top-notch and the staff were amazing. We both ordered the filet mignon, medium rare with a green salad. It was either a salad or fries. The steak was cooked to perfection; it melted in our mouths - literally it was super tender. The green salad was good though the dressing was a bit salty. It wasn't a deal breaker but next time I will request the dressing on the side. We washed it all down with a bottle of Pinot Noir. For dessert we each had Crème Brûlée. The sugar on top had a nice crack on it when I smacked it with the spoon and the crème was silky smooth A wonderful experience

My partner and I dined here on Saturday August 10 around 6:30PM. The place was bustling - hard to find parking nearby, we had to go underground in the free parking lot. Luckily, we did not need a reservation, there were still some free tables. We were seated right away. This restaurant has a nice terrace area and outdoor seating, it is very spacious. We noticed that the doors to the outside were open the whole time, so the temperature inside was not very cool. Decor is modern, simplistic, dark. Almost like tavern style. The lighting is dim and atmosphere very loud. They have beautiful bathrooms with individual stalls and very large sinks, you control the flow with a foot pedal. Food wise - We ordered a large ribeye type steak served with fries which was $59 and a surf and turf plate which consisted of a lobster roll, ribs and fries, this was $39. I wish Lucille's offered complimentary bread or something to start with like other restaurants do, but there wasn't any of that. Everything is an extra. Most main meals don't even come with sides so those are added costs. My partner recently dined at the Pointe Claire Fairview location and said he had a much better experience there. The food was tastier, more seasoned and cooked well. The steak here wasn't as tender - there were lot of fatty bits that were inedible. He tasted my ribs and said they were "off". I didn't have much to compare it to, it was my first time and I did enjoy the ribs and lobster roll - they were flavorful, but the roll itself was quite small. I was expecting a more generous portion considering the price. You do get a lot of fries at least, these will fill you up. They are small shoestring type fries - a bit too crispy for my liking. I didn't like that they placed the fries directly under the ribs so these were all coated in bbq sauce and soggy by the time I got to them. We did not opt for any special drinks or deserts- these were in the $15-$20 range, overpriced and unnecessary if you had a full meal. When came time to pay, I had Lucilles gift cards which seemed to cause some confusion or problem with our server. He wasn't able to access the funds and had to ask for help and come back 2 or 3 times to scan the cards. This was a bit embarassing, made us feel like it was a big hassle and having other patrons look at us like our cards were rejecting when there was nothing wrong wasn't the best experience. Combined service, food, atmosphere and pricing, it was an average experience. Nothing that made us say wow, so likely won't be back at this location.

Tartarre Thon asiatique

We attended a birthday party here yesterday. It was booked for 5pm, and after the fact, our host…read morewas called and informed that there would be another party being seated after us, at 7:30pm, so we would have to be out by then, but that we could arrive as early as 4:30pm to make up for it. We were a group of 20+ people including 6 children. We arrived around 4:45pm, and were told the area wasn't ready yet, and had to wait in the front as piles of people started arriving all at the same time, with very few people actually being seated. We were brought to the back of the restaurant and given 2 of the 3 tables in that section (even though our host was told we'd have a private dining area). They then crammed 11 people at an 8 person table next to us. It took 20 minutes for a server to even take drink orders. I am 95% sure our drinks did not have any alcohol in them. The children were served last. There were no straws, and the syrups in the cocktails all settled at the bottom. Then time to order meals. Shortly after we did, plates of food came out, but none of them were actually our food. Finally our food did arrive and there was a lot of confusion about what belonged to who, as they were saying ingredients that weren't meant to be included (serving my mother a Philly steak "with smoked meat" which wasn't ordered, but also didn't have smoked meat at all). They brought children the wrong pizzas, my steak, ordered medium, was over by quite a bit. My Monte Carlo potato, however, was excellent, and my Caesar salad tasted good but had far too much dressing. My neighbour's smoked meat had bread so stale you could play drums on the table with it and the meat was different colours as it had dried out. My brother ordered a crispy chicken poutine, was delivered a hamburger, that they claimed was a chicken burger. To their credit, they brought out the poutine very quickly, but still charged me for the chicken burger, which was $5 more than the poutine (according to my brother), but it wasn't worth the time it would have taken to try to get it fixed. Down the table from me, the wrong potatoes were delivered and had to be replaced. About halfway through the meal, we were told that there would not be another party, so we didn't have to rush out, but with service taking as long as it did at the beginning, it was already an anxious experience. At one point, after the guest of honour waited 45 minutes for a drink, but having no server in sight, as our section was cut off from the rest of the restaurant and no way to make eye contact with anyone to indicate we needed something, our host got up and went directly to the bar to order the drink. There was one bartender for a full restaurant who very firmly said she could not take orders from customers. Ok, no problem. The server then came over and scolded our host for speaking to the bartender. We were also informed by a food runner (of which there were at least 5) that our server had two full sections, and no one to help. We left at 7:40pm, generally dissatisfied.

Things, in my opinion, have gone downhill at this restaurant. Sad…read more Recently had 2 for $35 special that was not up to par. I had hamburger steak with French fries & Cole slaw. The burger patties were the smallest I've ever had and the coleslaw was tasteless. My partner had the fish dinner and the fish was too moist and not cooked properly. With a draft beer and a glass of wine our bill with tip was $100. We won't be back soon

We tried the non-alcoholic guava mule. The guava was nice and sweet and complimented the spicy of the ginger beer. We ordered a French onion soup, steak Diane, and a beef Wellington. The entrees came with choice of salad. We tried one of each , house Gibby salad and the blue cheese wedge. This was a lot of food for us. The French onion soup was my favorite, good flavor, lots of onions and that nice browned cheese top. Both salads were good, the house salad was a little lighter since the blue cheese wedge salad had a rich blue cheese dressing and bacon bits on top. The steak and beef Wellington was also good. In general, we ordered medium rare, it was a little bit rarer than I expected but not I'd edible. So something to think about if you need your meat to be cooked more. The prices seemed fair for a steakhouse and for the amount of food we ate.

While the food was delicious, the overall experience fell just slightly short of what I would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. Service was the main area that didn't quite meet expectations. After being seated, we waited about 10 minutes before receiving menus and had to ask for them. Throughout the meal, interactions felt a bit rushed - several staff members who stopped by the table were somewhat brief, and on a few occasions, items like bread or water were dropped off while we tried to ask questions, but the busser had already walked away. That said, the restaurant was quite busy during lunch, so it's possible the pace and attentiveness were impacted by that. As for the food, we ordered the albacore tuna appetizer along with the strip loin, butcher's cut, and duck for our mains. Everything was well-prepared, though the duck portion was noticeably small. Desserts were a highlight - especially the pavlova with maracuya, which was excellent. Our server Laura was professional, though not very engaging until the very end of the meal when we were settling the bill. I would still return, as the food is strong, but I have to say that Bar George left a more lasting impression on us in terms of both food and service.

The dip was served in a chipped soup bowl which had obviously been microwaved as the edges of the dip were literally hard and stuck to the sides of the bowl. My guest had a burger which was cooked so thoroughly that the meat was dry and hard and despite asking for no onions, her burger came with onions. I ordered shrimp and lobster rolls - what a mistake! No lobster, only small (I think canned) shrimp. The seafood had obviously been frozen because it was wet and completely flavourless - served on top of two hard, dry little buns. This restaurant should be ashamed of the food quality here. The service was poor - they could not possibly have cared less about my reservation for 2. Our order was taken, food was dropped off by a runner and we never saw our server until it was time for the bill - we had to ask the hostess for ketchup - no refill was offered on drinks. The decor is tired. The tables are chipped and the faux leather seats are peeling from wear. Just avoid. We were $100 for 2 people (no alcohol, only one Diet Coke), and the food was the worst I've had in a while. Yuck.

Tables are jammed so close together you end up shoulder-to-shoulder with strangers, dodging servers and elbows the whole time. It's noisy, cramped, and stressful -- the opposite of a relaxing meal. Layout makes no sense: tiny two-tops shoved beside high-traffic zones, larger parties squeezed into corners with zero space to move, and some tables practically touching the entrance or washroom hallway. You feel rushed before you even sit down. Chairs are hard and wobbly, there's no room for bags or coats, and you're constantly getting bumped because there's barely an aisle. If you value personal space, forget it. Service suffers because of the overcrowding. Staff are hustling but clearly stretched thin, so basics lag -- water refills, cutlery, checking in after food arrives. Food comes out at odd intervals and cools fast in the drafty spots. The noise level is cafeteria-grade; you end up shouting across the table. Accessibility is an afterthought: tight turns, blocked paths, and nowhere to park a stroller or mobility aid without being in someone's way. This isn't just my night, either. A lot of other reviews for the Saint-Bruno location say the same things: overbooked, packed in, chaotic atmosphere, long waits even with a reservation, and staff forced to manage a floor plan that puts turnover ahead of comfort. The pattern is pretty clear -- maximize seats, minimize experience. If management wants repeat customers, they need to pull tables, widen aisles, fix traffic pinch points near the door and washrooms, add soft surfaces to tame the reverb, and stop overbooking peak hours. Until then, there are plenty of places nearby that won't make you pay to feel like you're eating in a hallway.

The newer name means "flavors of the continents" when translated into English and that probably has a better ring to it than the previous name. The dishes here go all the way from 2 to 5 stars, so that averages out to 3.5 stars, which isn't so bad considering how much choice they offer. Mostly I take from the Canadian-North American, Italian, Greek, and Middle Eastern food. They also have a staffed grill where they can cut you a nice little slab of meat. They have a section with Asian food and I also noticed a sushi area, the latter of which is beyond my line of demarcation. This is why, as I've said on the previous review, you will be breaking bread with people from 5 continents. (Should there be a token Australian in attendance, that would take it up to 6 continents.) The service at Saveurs des Continents is fine. Be sure to engage the server in such a way that they don't forget you and won't clean off your table while you are going up to the buffet line to get another plate of food. (I've had that happen up at St. Jerome once, and the place was far from full.) In this case, the server and I spoke Spanish and he didn't mind at all because, after all, this is Montreal and it subscribes to the concept of a "cultural mosaic." Bring it on. There is also a person who will come around to take a drink order, but I go with the included coffee or tea. With all that said, the pricing scheme is fair. It is slightly different depending on the time of the day and day of the week. The pricing includes a gratuity to the tune of about 12.5%, if I recall correctly, that they distribute to the employees. You are free to give your server a little bit more if you choose to. So, in revisiting Saveurs des Continents, I'm going to go with 4 stars. They offer a lot of food choices across a broad spectrum, fair pricing, decent service, and a unique brand of quirkiness and diversity that you don't easily forget. Also, with REM joining the Metro system and Exo commuter trains, this newer light rail system can take you from the city to the south shore. Your stop will be the Panama station and, from there, there is a pedestrian underpass and path that goes to the shopping center with this buffet. One thing is that it will be easier to get back home with the light rail and not think of having to adjust your tilt steering wheel upward. Finally, if this American manages to come in here once on each visit to Montreal area, then this Saveurs des Continents is more realistically a 4 star sort of place.
