Burrata and fish tacos
Oriana T.

Great place to dine . The service was fairly quick and their prices are very decent. It is a bit loud however the servers were kind enough to sit us where it was more quiet. Overall the ambiance of this restaurant is very nice. We tried their fish tacos and the burrata as a starter, and as a main course fish. It was delicious, perfectly seasoned and, juicy . I highly recommend trying this with your partner or with friends as an evening get out !

Good vibe here on a Saturday night, although slightly loud. We ordered the fried cauliflower as an appetizer to share between 4 of us and it was actually a salad with fried cauliflower underneath. Not a great shareable plate, but still very good. Not everyone was a seafood lover so we had ribs (fall off the bone) and a NY strip steak that was perfectly done. I had the tuna steak in ponzu, which was so delicious however the tuna a bit stringy in some places. I'm not sure why, but I felt rushed the entire time we were there and our waiter seemed unpleasant with a very fake smile.

I was very impressed with the food, the service, the prices, everything was fabulous. It was a little bit of a drive to get out of the city, but it was definitely worth it. The ambience was great, and I highly recommend this place for oysters, lobster, octopus salad And Barata!

First date night in a loooong time, overdue is an understatement!!! Made day of reservations and was pleasantly surprised that they had room for us. I informed our waiter of my Celiac condition and he was very helpful and knowledgeable. The service was great, friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious. I started with Oysters i could have had a few dozen myself they were so good, i also had the grilled octopus and the Guedille on a lettuce wrap. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Our first time there and definitely not the last...

NY steak with salad on the side. Really well prepared!!

Lucille's a real treat for those special dinners that you may be planning. The restaurant says 'Dive' but this is by no means a dive. It's a classy upscale restaurant complete with the lighting, leather booths and prices. The food is really really good and well prepared by the kitchen. We had the oysters, the NY strip and the roasted cauliflower salad. The NY strip was perfection and one of the best I've ever had. My friends swear by their lobster rolls which comes loaded with lobster meat. Also one order comes with two rolls, so it's perfect to share between a couple! Service was a little slow even though it wasn't fully packed. At one point I wondered if they would take our orders since they had left us with the menu for so long after bringing our oysters. Thankfully, the rest of the night turned out fine. Prices are on the expensive side, expect to pay for the quality and environment.

Wowww this spot is pretty great. Lots of seafood options and a nice polished environment without being pretentious. The menu is pretty diverse, with a range of different price points. Seafood is always pricey obviously but cmon, cheap seafood would just be a recipe for disaster, haha. The one dollar oysters are actually quite good! Beautifully briney and simply a joy to slurp down. What a great deal. You can feel quite princely as you dine on these delectable morsels of the sea, without paying a princely sum. The takeout option is pretty great in these covid times. The lobster roll is incredible. Buttered bread, big lobster chunks, perfectly seasoned. The ribs and mash are also quite good and very filling. The platters of seafood are kinda pricey, so sharing is probably the best option. Overall it is a nice place, and I'll be back to fulfill my oyster fix.

I've been wanting to try this place for a while and glad I did. At first feel, it was warm with the dimmed lights and cozy with the soft music. We were two and ordered 4 dishes to share, except for the last one - stay tuned. The calamari were delish, the chowder was okay, the octopus was fab, and my friend had the oysters and said they were great. The amount of food was just perfect. Our waitress was very helpful and polite, which I really appreciated. In all, I enjoyed my experience but thought it was a bit pricey.

** FOOD POISONING ** Was my first time eating at Lucille's last night. The service was kinda slow and unprepared but nothing appetizers couldn't fix. The food was very good, I ordered oysters and clam chowder and my bf got a crab dip with a bottle of wine. Once I got home I went to bed, and around 3 in the morning I was violently sick. I was throwing up/ dry heaving for 6 hrs straight. I ended up having to go to the hospital to get an IV and antibiotics. I was so dehydrated, nauseous, and weak that I could barely stand. Very very disappointed receiving food poisoning from a well know restaurant that serves sea food. The chefs should be more careful so that this doesn't happen to someone else. This was a very serious matter, I got really sick and I feel like it could've been totally prevented if the chefs had taken the proper precautions before serving. I assumed it was the clam chowder so beware. I am still recovering as I write this and I am not happy at all.

Lucille is a decent food experience but I found it off-target on a few things. Location reveals itself as a small modern chic resto and definitely not a dive as per the resto name. Being a small resto, the seating is somewhat limited and more importantly closely packed together. The resto gets pretty busy with a lot of foot traffic. Seat arrangements per table defer from one another and my seating arrangement was one of those slightly uncomfortable tall chairs. It does gets pretty loud in here with the music and other patrons chatting while they enjoy their meal or drinks. I definitely didn't expect that and completely welcomed the quietness once I left the resto. In terms of food I went with their Surf & Turf, something I heard from others and really wanted to try. This dish consists it's a lobster roll with a half rack of ribs and fries. Priced at $36 so I'll say it's pretty pricey. Lobster roll was definitely not lobster tail and I suggest eating it first as the bun gets soggy pretty quickly. Decent overall. The ribs were tender but were somewhat try with a lack of sauce. Fries were good. Overall, a decent plate but at the price-tag, I wouldn't have it again. We also had calamari, it was good but the portion was small. Service was good despite being things being super busy. Booking was online, easy. Paying a bit of a challenge but we got it done. All in all, a decent place if you're in desperate need of seafood. Not necessarily the best location if you want this in Montreal by any means but it's damn well marketed in Montreal so you have to experience it, am I right? Price is pretty expensive for what it is. My friend had a "grilled seafood plate" for over $30 and it barely covered the bottom of the plate. We wanted oysters but at $42 for a dozen, that idea was scrapped. The competition in Montreal provides a better price/value.

I came to Lucille's Oyster Dive to celebrate my birthday. The food was great but our table was placed in the busiest traffic area of the restaurant. We asked to be placed in a different spot but the restaurant was fully booked. Our table was placed right next to the area where the hostess was standing and where people were waiting for their tables. It was extremely uncomfortable because while we were eating, people's bag would be shuffling near our dishes. I do not believe that they should add that table of 2 right in that spot because it was an unpleasant experience. For the food part, I would give it a 4/5. For the month of March, the oysters from PEI are 1$ each. We also ordered the wood-oven chicken and the 2 lobster rolls as mains. The wood-oven chicken was tender and delicious. There was a bit of char on the sides and cooked beautifully. It also came with a metal bowl of guacamole and 2 small tortillas! I was really amazed how good this meal turned out to be! As for the lobster rolls, this dish came with French fries or salad. The taste was pretty good, you can also find big chunks of lobster inside the buns. Overall the experience wasn't that great. I was really disappointed at where we had to sit. The food is very good! I would recommend people to ask for a better seat when reserving over the phone!

Fried calamari

This place is a monkland staple and very popular so make sure to make reservations ahead of time! Highly recommend if you are in the mood for some surf and turf. We started off with some $1 oysters which were super fresh and delicious with a variety of sauces. We also had the fried calamari with a delicious tartar sauce. Although the pieces of calamari themselves were very big, the plate itself wasn't so I would call it more as an appetizer/side. We then split the surf and turf combo which comes with one lobster roll, ribs and fries. This plate was definitely worth it and the ribs really surprised me, very juicy and melted in your mouth. This was more than enough food for two hungry adults. Although the food was really great, I did think it was a little on the expensive side for what it was. Service was also quite slow and it took us an hour to get just the oyster. That being said, I would go back any time for the ribs and oysters!

Located in plush, Monkland Village, Lucille's Oyster Dive was an exciting and outstanding find for a perfect night. It's a dive alright- nothing flashy, energy was loud, I cracked up as loud as I wanted to and enjoyed every second. Lucille's warm lighting made the evening calm and really fun. Baseball was playing and Bluegrass set the mood in Montréal's funky spot. My cocktail was strong and, grilled lobster was divine. At one point, I didn't care diddly squat, who was around me because I went deep on that bad boy with both hands and enjoyed the rich taste of my Nova Scotia lobster. In all seriousness, Lucille's definitely a lively spot to be in and has been a return of ours!

WARNING: COVID-19 Denial / Anti-Vaxx / Anti-Mask ALERT…read more Okay, so today is Thursday 30th December 2021, and we are at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic ... like it's never been worse than it is now. We've got almost 14,000 official new cases in Quebec today alone and the positivity rate is hovering above 30% ... the Island of Montreal is pretty much one entire hot zone. I am the primary caregiver for my 95 year old grandmother so I am exercising a high degree of caution and I am strictly adhering to the recommended public health measures and safety protocols that are in place. I am also friends with a few frontline healthcare workers so I know how extremely difficult the last 21 months have been for my doctor and nurse friends. I usually love Honeys but today I walked past the pub and they've got a chalkboard in the window (photo below) with some sanctimonious COVID denial propaganda. This is disappointing. The healthcare system is crumbling and rates of infections are skyrocketing and these folks cannot think beyond the tip of their noses. This is a paramount example of the selfish, deluded and idiotic behaviour and notions that have crippled our society. This is why the end of this pandemic has eluded us. We are all in this together -- Ça va bien aller Get vaccinated, get your booster shot, wear your N95 mask, maintain a physical distance of 2 metres, reduce your contacts to one household bubble and hopefully this will all be over sooner than later.

Taverne restaurent review…read more This was a recommendation by many as one of the best restaurants in the area. I can't say that I would agree from this visit. First the good things. The staff was excellent, friendly and attentive for most of the night. The owner who we spoke with after the meal was for the most part respectful and receptive to our comments. As for the food itself, we didn't venture too much into any of the specials and some of the dishes with unusual food combinations. I'm no foodie, so my palate would not be able to discern how well those dishes work with the ingredients. As it turned out, we were "put to the test" with our first choice. We decided to split two courses, going with the BRASSICAS "CAESAR" to start. I guess this is the chef's "take" on a Caesar salad. Can't say that it was the best combination of ingredients and was a bit bland considering the seasoning. Certainly not what we expected when the salad is described as a Caesar. I'm not a spice person, but it was a little surprising the waitress or another staff member didn't offer some pepper without us asking for it. They are usually quick to offer that in most places after you taste the food. Getting a half order of the HOUSE FOCACCIA certainly helped, but it isn't the best thing to say when the bread is the highlight of the meal. We both thought they should make a half order a staple for most items on the menu without charge. Our other course was the CAVATELLI POMODORO. Can't say there was anything extraordinary about the sauce and pepper again had to be requested. The pasta was fine but, like the salad, it was a smallish portion. This dish did come hot to the table and stayed that way, which is a positive. Overall, both portions were a bit small and both were underwhelming for the price charged. The worst aspect of the evening was the ambient sound of the room itself. The wooden bar, table to ceiling blackboard, windows and bare floor all contribute to amplifying everyone's conversation, making the room extremely loud. It forces everyone to talk louder, which just makes it even louder inside, almost to the point of discomfort. Good to know that the owner is looking at some different options to mitigate this. I'm not sure who Taverne Monkland is trying to attract. Small portions, unusual food combinations, cost-driven ingredient replacements for traditional recipes, and high prices, plus a noisy atmosphere doesn't make for the best dining experience.

The restaurant is dimly lit with candles and the bar is warm and welcoming. The service is personable and the waiter made great recommendations. The duck breast was the star of the show with the crispy layer of skin and well seasoned tender meat. The mushroom conserva also earned its stars with a great combination of savory umami with a hint of spice. The deconstructed croque madam special was also decent. The trouble came with the cod which was very salty. We asked to send it back and our waiter was gracious enough to help us replace it with the agnolotti. While the agnolotti tasted great, we would've liked the sauce to be a little thicker so it would stick to the agnolotti. We had white wine to accompany our meal which helped tie the meal together. Overall, I would say Entre-Deux is a great meal that gets you full with a reasonable price tag. And 11/10 for vibes and service.

This small-ish, cozy café/resto/bar in NDG serves both lunch and dinner and while the aesthetic and ambiance can seem quite lowkey and unassuming, the quality of the food is absolutely highkey, menu is well thought out & reflects fresh seasonal ingredients and above all, incredibly delicious! (Chef is from Manu Cornuto). They have great selection of natural wines (my fave) and they carry a lot of Dieu du vin wines (another fave local wine company). We ordered a bottle of wine for the evening but the bartender is the mixologist from Cloakroom so I can't wait to return and try their cocktails as well. It is a tapas menu made to share but the portions were surprisingly quite generous and we ordered 3 'appetizers', 1 'main' and a dessert between the two of us. The beef tartare and the bitter lettuce salad were both amazing (and I was too hungry to take a photo of these dishes). The grilled cauliflower with mornay sauce alongside the braised rabbit was also to die for. I am not usually a dessert gal but I was very grateful that we tried their dessert of the day as it was so good! Based on reading the menu and their story, I knew I was going to like this place but I can't wait to bring more of my friends here. It is worth mentioning that I thought the pricing here is quite fair for what you get, especially seeing as many restos upped their prices significantly post-pandemic. It could also be that they have 25% off all wine and cocktails on Sundays and we came on a Sunday (it was a very nice surprise ). Overall: 5 Food: 5 Service: 5 Value: 5 Ambiance/Atmosphere: 3.8
