Very nice place in the heart of downtown Modesto. I was actually surprised that the place wasn't too big. Very limited seating. Me and my son got lucky and snagged a table outside since it was a very nice morning! All the workers were very nice and had great positive attitudes. Stopped here with my daughter after her softball tournament, and the food did not disappoint! We had the Early Bird, Champion Breakfast Platter and Cajun potatoes. Everything was so good, but the Early Bird sandwich was scrumptious!! It's a cute little place with both indoor and outdoor seating. Everything is house made. No microwave chefs. It's a bit small for dinning in but the servers are awesome, first come first serve so grab a table (if you can) and place your order. This review is long overdue, but I just have to say how much my husband and I love Lucille. It's hands-down the best breakfast spot in Modesto--better than so many places we've tried out of town too. Since moving to the area, we've been here twice, and I can confidently say their service is amazing, and their food and drinks are spectacular. The space itself is incredibly charming, blending modern touches with a soft, feminine aesthetic. The cozy, cheerful ambiance is made even better by the freshly cut flowers on every table, but most of all, the genuinely warm, welcoming vibe of the baristas, servers, and staff. Now, onto the food. I believe they make their breads and pastries from scratch, and you can absolutely taste the difference. The French Toast is crispy on the outside, moist on the inside, and downright decadent. The South x Southwest with its freshly made biscuit was incredible--just like the French Toast, the biscuit was buttery, moist, and held up beautifully. The Benny and O.MG. B.E.C. sandwiches were served on a soft, delicious brioche bun, and every component was fresh, hearty, and perfectly balanced. While extra sauces aren't necessary, the local hot sauces from Extraordinary Food & Beverages add a great kick of heat and acidity if you're looking for something extra. Love seeing local businesses supporting each other! The drinks were just as tasty. The Pink Chai Latte was unique, with floral and earthy tones I've never experienced in a chai before--and it's pink!! thanks to a special chemical reaction, which we thought was so cool. My Matcha Latte was excellent--you could actually taste the matcha, and it wasn't overly sweet, pairing perfectly with my savory sandwich. What a hidden gem located druggy outside of downtown Modesto. Really stumbled on this place and so glad I did. Very quaint little place that serves breakfast and lunch options and I wound consider from an elevated flavor profile. Inside is very hip and cool while spic and span clean. They also have a small patio area as well but a little too cold on our visit. It's a walk up and order type of spot which is fine with me but service has to also be there and at this place it 100% does! The folks working here are amazing and over the top friendly. For lunch my sandwich while simple was awesome! Consisted of turkey, bacon, chipotle mayo and an avocado spread with some heat from jalapeños served on this amazing roll. This was a 5 out of 5! I wanted a light breakfast and happened to be in Modesto. I yelped and this little quaint spot came up. I had the fancy toast and my wife had the Breakfast of Champions. We had a mocha and a mimosa. Everything was delicious. The place is super tiny which makes it more desirable to be in there. If you catch a table you can order at the counter and they will bring you your food. Omg! The best gluten free sandwich I've ever had! This gluten free bread is only recognizable by size but otherwise is nothing like any gf bread you've had. It's crispy, chewy, airy, holds together well (hardly any crumbs on my plate) and best of all tastes amazing! Because of the size, my one sandwich was basically 2 full sandwiches! What a GREAT day Lucille. As I sit here eating next to Bill (William) Ackerman, founder of Windham Hill Records (and famous guitar player)...long story how I knew but it started with my Ukulele Jay BBQ shirt I was wearing. I was taking in the great menu which is a slight spin on breakfast items put together in a way that everyone can find something on the menu that is not plain vanilla breakfast items which is refreshing to see someone going a little out of the box to satisfy their customers. We ordered a latte with caramel simple syrup which my wife said was outstanding. We found out the coffee if locally roasted in Modesto by a family so staying local and supporting small business has always been my style. My wife and I shared the H St. Block which is a generous (ok big) portion of a blueberry french toast casserole that was fantastic. Tons of blueberries, syrup and some sort of brioche bread that was amazing. Tender, sweet and tasty! To balance the sweet we also split the OMG BEC bacon egg cheese breakfast sandwich that really hit the spot. Marissa, the owner with her husband who is the chef (she works the front of the house) is a gem. Super nice and informative, such as Lucille was the last name of her husbands grandmother (I think I got that right) Lucille opened in January of this year and they definitely have what it takes for a long successful future. I attended a work event in the area and I found this place on Yelp which was in the walking distance. I ordered the P & H sandwich with no bacon but after a long wait and when my food arrived, I noticed the sandwich had indeed bacon in it so I had to remove it myself.
