A friend brought churros from this place and it was a hit! We loved it so much we bought some for another party and it did not disappoint. The churros were still good even as leftovers. Parking is limited in front of the store but there is street parking.

My Husbamd introduce me to this bakery when we first started dating. We meet back in March 25, 1997 we have been coming her since then we know live in bakersfield, every chance we get to come back into town we stop by Luceros. This has be our favorite, now we share it with our 2 sons they are now 22 & 23 yrs young. This place has been around for many years it's apart of this great community here in Bell Gardens. It's been apart of our family. I hope you will give it a try and find out why we like it so much, and make it a part of your family. I can't end this review without saying something about the staff they are great, the service is Amazing they treat you like family. 10 stars we come for the 3 leches cakes and the churros

Cake

We used to love getting our cakes here for every celebration, but lately the tres leches cake hasn't been the same. It's been dry, with only the top part soaked. Unfortunately, this has happened more than once.

My wife was scheduled to work at the Rite Aid in Maywood. I found Lucero Bakery about 3 block away from her work. Lucero Bakery is known for making one of the best churro in Southern California. Their churro is one of the best. It was hot, light and crunchy and not too sweet. They also have a good assortment of Mexican breads. DJ's rating: 4.35/5.00 Would I come back? Yes.

Lucero Bakery, a staple of the Bell Gardens/Commerce neighborhoods keeps me returning even after I've moved to OC. I recently dropped by at 6:30 am on a Friday and I was the only patron in the house. Maybe an off day or perhaps due to the increase in costs? The deals from the past are long gone. A churro will set you back $1.50 and in order to get price break, you'll need to buy 50 @ $1.25 a stick. Still the same churro, perfectly textured on the outside with a moist center. Apart from churros, their other offerings include sweet breads, flans, cakes, and bolillos. Try them out!

Everyone that had a slice of the cake was also very shocked at how good it tasted. The cream is light, the mango portions are extremely generous, and the sponge cake in the middle is the perfect size. It was all very well balanced. I genuinely felt the love that went into this cake. The facility does also bake with almonds and walnuts. For anyone with peanut allergies, contaminants is not something to worry about. Overall, I'd love to try other items the bakery offers!

I was looking for a nearby bakery to order for my residents for their birthdays and after reading…read morethe positive reviews of their cakes, I had to come to check it out today! Small parking lot in the back and plenty of street parking. Located right in the corner of Whittier and Maple Ave (next to Walgreens). Upon entering, the bakery does look a bit old and outdated but it was clean. They had different types of cakes on display for sale with prices. I came mainly to try their slices of cake and went for the famous mango slice and I wanted to try the chocolate flan. I can see why everyone is raving about the mango cake! It's soft and taste fresh. Layers of sponge cake, whipped cream and fresh mangos inside. Chocolate flan was ok. It wasn't too sweet. Chocolate cake on the bottom with flan on top. However the chocolate shavings on top tasted a bit...artificial? Overall, not a bad slice of cake. I think the owner is Asian because only Asian bakeries make their cakes like sponges. It is not too sweet and so light. I don't have to travel to SGV to get my cakes now since its right down the street from my work. I was able to get prices on full sheet cakes if I was to order a big cake. He did say to give them 1-2 days advance when ordering. I will be back!

Their menu is limited but everything I've tried so far has been amazing. Believe it or not, the rainbow cake here is just as phenomenal as the famous paradise cake from Kings Hawaiian in Torrance. That's actually what led me to The Wild Whisk's front doorstep - I wanted to find the unique cake somewhere closer to home because I refuse to trek all the way out to Torrance again, not when gas prices are what they are now. The rainbow cake at The Wild Whisk is an exquisite light chiffon cake with layers of guava, passionfruit, and key lime. The flavors were subtle and in perfect harmony, complemented by the light whipped cream. The basque cheesecake was also delicious with it's dark caramelized top and rich and creamy center. I love basque cheesecake because I'm not a fan of the usual graham cracker crusts in cheesecake, and I would always forgo that part. With basque cheesecakes, I don't have to! Anyways, all of that to say I've tried alot of different basque cheesecakes and the one here is utter perfection. I also enjoyed the ube cake and churro cheesecake. ****************** My Ratings: 1 Star: Terrible; just thinking about it makes me angry. 2 Stars: Wasn't a fan so Not likely to return. 3 Stars: Meh. Average. Might return if others drag me. 4 Stars: Yum! Likely to return. 5 Stars: Amazing! Would plan my day around it.

I would describe wild whisk as having a Hawaiian theme with a Latin flare. Item prices range from $6-$7. What I bought: Hawaiian Chex mix 5/5 Vietnamese coffee tres leches 5/5 Banana cream pie 3/5 My favorite item was the Chex mix, it's sweet, savory, with a Furikake aftertaste. The Vietnamese tres leches reminded me of a super moist tiramisu. The banana cream pie was good but a little too heavy for my taste. They even have pre made spam Musubis at the counter! And also tamales if you're in the mood. Overall I was pleasantly surprised and looking forward to going back and trying some more goodies!
