As a current resident of Hawaii, we have limited access to Mexican pastries so this is ALWAYS my first stop when I'm in East LA. They have a great selection of cookies, pastries, cakes, flans, gelatin, fruits, and more. I always get half a dozen of conchas, a dozen of bolillo for tortas, and other pastries to last me the entire trip. Great breakfast choice with a cup of coffee in the morning! PLUS, it does not go bad in a short time. I kept the box on the counter at my boyfriend's parents' house and it stayed fresh during our entire trip. Their pastries are super soft and fresh. I've been here multiple times and was never disappointed! Coming from Hawaii where everything costs a million dollars, these pastries are soooo reasonable. I can get an entire box of pastries plus a dozen of bolillo for around $20ish. Great savings and satisfies my sweet tooth. This place does get crowded so be sure you're not in rush! We've been here a few times already but today is the first time we came really early, like 6am. OMG, we totally love their bread selections...so many and so hard to choose from. We have tried their: 1 Blueberry muffins: Very good, lots of blueberries. 2 Jalepeno hotdog bread(?): It is bolillo baked with hotdog and jalapeños. YUMMY, definitely one of my favorites. 3 Choco flan: Another yummy desert. 4 Submarine sandwich: Very filling and good. Ask for jalapeños on the side. 5 Croissant: Buttery and . 6 Chocolate cake: A small chocolate cake. Very surprised that it is not too sweet and very good. Of course we tried more than the ones listed above but dont know what they're called . Overall, very good place to get Mexican breads. Oh. The only reason for the 4-star is because of the parking. I was disappointed been going here for over 20 yrs I ordered a two tier cake for a party and when we picked up cake they didn't put it in a box they gave it to us just like that on a cake board and then once we cut the cake the top tier was completely wrong they gave us chocolate cake with banana when it was supposed to be white cake with fresh pineapple and mango. I recently visited this bakery and witnessed something very disturbing. A woman was yelling at an employee in front of customers and even called her a "puerca," which means "pig" in Spanish . It was extremely disrespectful and completely unprofessional. At first I thought she was just another employee, but after seeing how aggressively she was speaking to the worker I asked who she was and found out she was actually the manager, and her name is Noemí. This is not the first time I've witnessed behavior like this there, but this time I felt I had to say something. No employee deserves to be humiliated like that, especially in front of customers. It created a very uncomfortable atmosphere for everyone in the store. I truly hope the employees know they have rights and consider reporting this kind of behavior to OSHA. No workplace should tolerate verbal abuse like that. read more

I have always wanted to try the bread at this bakery. I was in the neighborhood yesterday and stopped by. I purchased 2 bolillos with cream cheese , 2 polvorones, 3 breads and 2 valentine sugar cookies with sprinkles. total $24.90 I could not believe I was being charged that amount for 9 pieces of bread. I asked for a receipt and the lady made sure to tell me the sugar cookies cost $3.95 each. Who charges $3.95 for a regular sized sugar cookie with sprinkles. I will never go back.
