I have been here a few times and this review will be on the Rockstar and Açaí bowls The Rockstar is an amazing drink, it has great flavor and I would highly recommend. It is also a staff favorite. I would stay away from the Açaí bowls, they are basically a smoothie in a bowl, and after 5 minutes it melts and you basically have an açaí soup. I am giving this a four star because of the açaí bowls, and they typically only have one worker , so if you go when there is 2-3 people ahead of you, it will take about 10-15 minutes to get your drink. read more

Healthy smoothie spot in DTLA near Pershing Square. They open early and close early (7:00am to 4:00pm) and are closed on the weekends. I ordered the Runyon hydration smoothie which appeared to look like two smoothies in one. In fact, it was. The bottom portion of the smoothie was one flavor and the top part was another. While this Earthbar location is a small, it has a lot of healthy alternative options for sale from protein powders to Glutathione, which is a master anti-oxidant in a gel-like form, to hydration sticks. The staff seem to be efficient in making the smoothies quickly so you can be in and out in no time. read more

Overall: 2.7/5 I was desperately in need of a smoothie and this place was the closest to our hotel so we swung by around late Monday afternoon. The store itself is cute with a great selection but the price is a bit steep for a smoothie. Their bamboo straws are poor quality and split so we had a hard time drinking our smoothie. Mint Chip Smoothie ($9.95): This was the better of the 2 drinks and tasted so good because the other drink was so bad. It's definitely less sweet than expected given the ingredients like cacao nibs, banana, & dates. All the flavors were very subtle but I like the mint flavor the most. Lean + Green Smoothie ($9.95): This was really undrinkable. It had a grainy texture and a heavy seed taste. I forced myself to drink as much as I can since I needed the nutrition but was only able to drink about 70% of it before I threw it away. For smoothies that cost this much, I expect the drinks to taste good. They did keep me full at least. read more

When doors open for me, I walk in. Literally. An Earthbar staff opened the door as I stepped in front and it felt... kismet. These types of places can really be hit or miss as they seem to grow up out of the SoCal Sidewalks. Spoiler: Earthbar is a HIT Aside from the service opening the door for me, they were so friendly, helpful, and that perfect blend of attentive without being obnoxious. You know what I mean? I was able to sub out almond milk (allergy!) for hemp milk in the Rock Star smoothie which was a major win. I was in love at first sip. This smoothie tasted more decadent than a milkshake (must be the dates). Ok ok... Technically, I ordered the Detox. My fiancé ordered the Rockstar. Both were great. Great for lite healthy bite that tastes like dessert! Convenient to walk to if you live or work nearby otherwise parking can be difficult. This eatery was modern, clean, and well organized. It's standard in size compared to similar eateries. Patrons had a choice of sitting inside at the bar or sitting on 1 of 2 table outside on the sidewalk. The vibe inside was relaxed but loud due to the blenders. The tables outside were quieter with the occasional homeless person approaching to ask for change. (It's DTLA. This will happen anywhere you go in DTLA.) The menu includes smoothies and acai bowls made to order, bottled drinks, and prepackaged meals. We order 2 large acai bowls. The wait for the bowls seemed a bit long but there were only 2 people working. The bowls were well sized and tasty. Service was friendly, patient, and helpful. Prices were a tad higher than other eateries of this type but that wouldn't stop me from visiting again. read more

EarthBar on 6th St in DTLA is closer to SOHO, my yoga studio. Usually frequent the EB inside Equinox. This EarthBar is on the same block that has at least 3 French cafes and pastries shops. EarthBar's specialty are the healthy smoothies infused with nutritional ingredients that boost specific health concerns. The smoothie menus detail the natural/organic contents of each smoothie. Some of the smoothies are high in calories, and you have the option to reduce sugar and calories with substitutes: no sugar almond milk, more ice, less bulky fruits..and add boosters like flax seed, hemp ingredients...per your request. Love the Green T Power, Flax master and Blueberry Bliss for antioxidants and healthy benefits post workout. Most times these smoothies act as meal replacement and I'm not feeling hungry, a good thing. At the times I've come in, the staff have been super nice and helpful. Inside is always clean and organized and they also sell and promote other foods, nutritional goods and products that are green and environmentally friendly...the reusable GLASS STRAW! which comes with its micro brush with a long handle to clean the straw for less than a Hamilton $bucks :/ I didn't purchase that straw for fear I will break it a New York minute. Doesn't come with a case ?! But now I feel guilty using a plastic straw...so I ask my smoothie barista to make my smoothie more liquidy, in order for me to drink it from the container, problem solved. I'm so sorry to do this but this whole experience was just unpleasant through and through. I get there at 7:45am and there's a closed sign up so I go to see if the door is open and it is and ask the lady if they're open she says yes so I go in & I even had to turn the sign around for her...she didn't think to go change is which is why nobody had been there for almost an hour since they've been open. I order three health shots, one detox juice, and a smoothie bowl and it comes out to $45 which is ridiculous but whatever, it's healthy so I paid it. I get home to find that my smoothie bowl is literally filled with this strange granola on the top and bottom and there's barely any of the smoothie in my cup. I couldn't even eat it, I threw it away & just wasted $45 and it kind of ruined my morning. Thank you for that. read more

One of the berry best places to come to for a delicious, healthy and refreshing smoothie! When it's the summer and you work in DTLA, nothing will brighten up your day more than taking a stroll to this wonderful little smoothie shop. The fruits here taste so fresh, you can tell they don't use fruits that have been frozen for a long time. I've gotten the Flax Master here before and I gotta say that it was one of the few times I enjoyed drinking a protein drink. The smoothie is thick and actually has a lot of taste in it. Protein drinks usually taste bland or tasteless. I've also recently started getting the Blueberry Bliss. This drink sweet, but not too sweet and thick enough so that it won't get watery even after being exposed to the sun for a while. The drink tasted blissfully delicious from start to finish. They also have a happy hour time, which is from 2pm to 4pm Mo-Fri, where all their drinks are $2 off. I think this is the only time you should come to this place because the prices for the drinks are steeper than most other smoothie places I've been to. I adore this place, especially on a warm day when you're looking for something cool and refreshing, light in the stomach enough to make room for more calories during lunch. I usually get the small acai bowl for $7 ($9 for large) that comes with fresh bananas and strawberries on top of acai smoothie layered in between granolas mix. Unlike Jamba Juice that usually uses fruits with high sugar content, this place uses more berries and veggies in their smoothies and provides all sorts of high energy, low carb and low sugar smoothie shots. I always get a small (a large is TOO massive) with a drizzle of almond butter ($1.50 extra is a bit steep, but I can't help it). I haven't had anything else from Earthbar even though I've been to a few other locations. I always walk to this location, but I don't think there's a lot of parking around per DTLA's usje. The "sunshine" was very bright and refreshing. The alchemist section of healthy lattes are equally worthy. My partner and I thought the "daily" kind of tasted like the "rockstar." It's worth noting some of the tastes will mirror others because they are using similar ingredients. Earth bar is a nice, clean health food store and juice bar. It was early morning so I had their superfood coffee with matcha, anti oxidants and it definitely tasted great and perked me up. There is just small bar type seating, so not suitable for relaxing longer stays. I was considering some of their super foods like liver cleanse or another drink but the main negative are the very high prices for one use drinks eg $9 for liver cleanse. The portion size is big for a small at $7.75. Fresh fruits and crunchy granola are always appreciated. The flavor of the actual acai mix was ok. It could've been more tart but that might've been my fault for adding agave. Their young staff are all great. I got a little enthusiastic and my spoon snapped in half mid-scoop. Update: (1/31/18) Earth Bar has an outstanding customer service team. I was contacted by the area manager and offered her apologies for running out of granola during my visit. If I would have known they were out of granola due to circumstances outside of their control, I would have understood their situation. I came in today after receiving an offer for an açaí bowl on the house. My açaí bowl at the flower location was DELICIOUS so I knew that I couldn't pass this opportunity up. I came in and got to meet the store manager and area manager. They were great! I really enjoyed my açaí bowl, topped with fresh fruit, granola (hallelujah!), coconut and cocoa nibs (yum!!! You will definitely want to add these to your next bowl!) I'm glad I gave this location a second chance! I'll definitely be back! Came in for an açaí bowl at lunch and they are out of granola. What?? My 20 oz nutrient-dense smoothie is a mix of Earthfusion protein, acai, banana, blueberry, almond butter, cinnamon, coconut water, maca, L-glutamine, vitamin B-12 & flax oil. The drink was too chalky for me. I couldn't drink it and I actually asked the worker if I could get something else. The worker was nice enough to mix me something different with acai. It was better.....but it was almost tasteless. Try it for yourself. You'll probably like the taste of their smoothies. I love their Acai bowl. I am a regular, I buy nothing but acai bowl from Earth Bar. So, today was my first time trying to order through Ritual App. When I got to the store (at 8am in the morning of July 19, 2017), I went over to the pick up counter to pick up my acai bowl. I asked the lady if it was mine because she had a paper of a different name stuck on the order. But I felt as though it was my acai bowl order because I only like my acai without strawberries, strictly only bananas (and who else would order as such??) and the rude staff said "no its not yours are you Rachel?" So I replied "the name on the paper is not Rachel either I'm Valencia" and she got so defensive and said "then thats not yours" so she checked her tablet and then said "did u order yours with only bananas?" So I said yes. Then instead of apologizing for being rude she shrugged off and said "so yeah thats yours". I came back to the office and found out that my acai was missing a layer of granola, that they usually put on the bottom (picture attached). Because of that, it's not filled to the brim like what they usually do. I wouldn't mind going back again, but only when this girl is not working.
