This store is been in Chinatown for a while and I like going inside to check out what's new, purchase tea, look for certain vitamins. They specialize in health everything - healing, consultation (I've not done that), various pills - over the counter, imports - vitamins, great tea selection, food - I like the green tea Kit Kat, sauces, desserts, noodles, it's cool to browse. You can also find Chinese vases in here, cosmetics, lotions, facial masks, some funny, funky items, too. Tin Bo is in on Broadway, in the middle of Chinatown. Prices aren't bad, it depends on the item you're looking for. The selection is interesting if you're not afraid to venture out. Last time I was in there and older gentleman came to me to tell me not to take photos, I haven't seen the sign. Too late, since I took a bunch! Opened daily, customer service can be better. I like having health alternatives and Tin Bo offers some!

I came here for the Chinese medicine doctor and for an herbal prescription. I wasn't disappointed. I don't speak Chinese, but the doctor on site spoke English well enough for us to communicate my needs and her recommendation. She has a great personality as well and nice to deal with. After the consultation, she prescribed the herbal remedy to cure my Heat (if you know Chinese medicine you'll understand). They put together the remedy in huge sized tea bags for me to boil and drink for 5 days. I've been to other Chinese herbal places in the area and they don't give you these convenient tea bags. It's a huge plus. In the end, I paid $12 for the consultation and $66 for the remedy. The consultation is less than other places, but the remedy was higher than others. It all balances out. The store itself has a lot of imported Chinese items, from alcohol, candy, remedies and basic supplies. What I like most is their tea selection. Some top notch stuff here for you tea enthusiasts!

Also,I only purchase 3 bags in total i spent $80 . The tea bags are pretty big. I will post my update with bby. Buy over all the experience was great, very friendly and explain to me.

Excellent store to buy Chinese herbs at reasonable prices. The staff is attentive and friendly and they provide complementary tea. They carry different assortments of tea, ginseng, Asian snacks, and beauty products. I came here for some instant ginseng tea packets, liquid royal jelly and ginseng bottles for energy, and some Chinese herb pills. I also bought some sandalwood soap that I love for 65 cents! They also have some Haribo snacks, Jade brackets, and tea accessories. I highly recommend this place.

For years I've been going to either a Ranch 99 or the Hawaii Supermarket (San Gabriel Valley) when I want to buy Chinese herbs. It's WAY cheaper than the same packages that are sold out here at places like The Golden Cabinet or similar. Well, today I got schooled in the prices of Chinese herbs! Bf and I wandered around Chinatown today, trying to catch the end of the Chinese New Year celebration, and we came across a TON of Chinese herb places. These herb places had the medicines that we'd been buying from Ranch 99 or the Hawaii Supermarket for like HALF the price. Now, when I detail the difference in prices, this is a typical comparison of what I'm talking about: Golden Cabinet price: $11 Ranch 99/Hawaii Supermarket Price: $5 Tin Bo Inc. price: $3 They have packaged Chinese formula tea pills, supplements (shark cartilage, fish oils, etc), and raw herbs that you can buy by the ounce or pound, in bulk. This is the kind of stuff that you buy and then boil the hell out of in combinations to deal with all sorts of health issues. Cool! My bargain hunting Chinese mother is surely at home nearby, feeling the sudden urge to weep with joy, for no specific reason she can put her finger on.

The process was definitely different from a regular doctor visit, but honestly, it was a really interesting experience. Since the practitioner doesn't speak English, I translated my symptoms into Chinese using Google Translate and showed him my phone. He checked my tongue and pulse very carefully before writing out a custom herbal tea prescription entirely in Chinese characters. You then take the prescription to the front counter where they prepare the herbs into 5 separate bags. Each bag lasts 2 days, and you boil the herbs for about an hour, strain the tea, and save the rest for the next day. I'm not going to lie -- the tea tastes STRONG. Very earthy, bitter, and honestly like dirt lol. Each boiled tea bag yields 24-32 oz. that needs to be consumed warm, preferably in one sitting after lunch. It was hard to drink, but after finishing my first cycle (10days) I noticed a huge improvement in my symptoms. They explained that most people do 2-3 cycles using the same prescription for full results. I genuinely feel a lot better. I paid $20 for consultation + $85 for the tea. If you use the prescription and 2nd time you only pay for the tea of $85. They take credit cards but there is a $6 transaction fee.

As I unwrapped (had to fight from the heat and almost melted flour tortilla to separate from the packaging) the burrito looked like it had been put through a car wash, a soaked tortilla fused with the inside crap that was in it. Barely any eggs or cheese, nasty half-assed cooked potato pieces (of course plenty of that) and a feeling of hopelessness and self-guilt for spending 8 bucks on this garbage. Now that Whole Foods has been Amazoned, with many of its former products swept off the shelves in favor of more Bud Light, Sprouts actually feels like the more genuine of the two stores. Whole Foods has gone completely bobo and goop-y; anyone who misses the old "crunchy" allure (but who just doesn't want to deal with the chaotic, dated feel of Lassen's) will appreciate Sprouts.
