I hate writing this review because Luceros was the place for churros, but the quality is inexcusable. The churros were not fresh they were stale, and super greasy, I had grease stuck on the roof of my mouth. Churros are one of my favorite desserts, but the quality and service is no where near how it use to be, which is probably why this place is not as crowded as it use to be. read more

I been coming here for years my mom would get our cakes here. The past two times they have ruined my cakes. You tell them what you want and they write it down and you pay 80 plus dollars but when you get it it does not have what you asked for it's just sad. I bought four slices of tres leches cake for $22 and a flan for $25. When I got home, I tried the cake. It was okay but not worth the $5 per slice in my opinion. The flan wasn't very good and certainly not worth $25. COSTCO sells a much tastier flan that is way bigger and for much less. My only consolation is that I didn't put any money in their tip jar. I got a custom cake done: heart shaped cake, serves 7 people, printed picture on top $100 I loved it sooooo much!!! Best tres leches cake I've ever had! They NAILED the custom cake I envisioned down to the detail. There were two women helping me design my cake, a mother and daughter. Staff is attentive, friendly and make genuine connections with their regulars. The place itself reminds me a bodega with friendly regulars giving a helping hand and providing suggestions. I don't think I need to add another review of the Churros from Lucero Bakery. They are outstanding, perfectly crunchy, not overly sweet, and just enough cinnamon. I ordered 20 of them and it only took about 10 minutes. They provide fast and friendly service, and offer a variety of baked goods. But I really only came for the Churros. Came on to order a 3 leches cakes for my daughter's birthday. We brought in a picture of the cake when placing our order. The cake was made exactly as my daughter requested and it was delicious! Only reason I didn't give them 5 stars was due to the wait when placing the cake order. We waited over 1.5hours just to place the order. The lady taking orders was busy handling phone calls and in person orders. Owners should have someone help her with handling phone calls. Other than that. I recommend cakes from Luceros! read more

More than just churros! This was my first time ordering a custom cake and I'm blown away by the results. They worked well with my broken Spanish and had people there who spoke English to help out with anything that they didn't understand. I literally went in there with just the concept of wanting a Selena cake, after looking through ideas on my phone I found my favorite and they said they could do it. I gotta admit that I was nervous not knowing exactly how it would turn out but it was literally perfect, every detail was exactly how I was expecting. I got it in tres leches, as someone who has had plenty of Porto's this blows them out of the water. Everyone was asking me where I got the cake and saying it was way better than Porto's. So in the end, not only did I get a cake that looked amazing, but it was beyond delicious. The price was not bad at all compared to what I was expecting. Pickup was very easy, they wheeled it to my car and it was secured in a big box. I had to also order churros though, get the 50 pack and your guests will be very thankful. Fooled me again Luceros Bakery. Gave you another chance after consistent cake decorating errors. The cake itself is good but the decorating is awful. One used to order their cake with the cake decorator and now Carmen just over prices you and gives you a badly decorated cake. We ordered a cake for my baby's baptism 3-4weeks ahead in person with a photo. The price was over $$$$$ but they assured us the cake would look exactly like the photo. Lies. They over decorated the cake making it look busy and not the simple elegant cake we ordered. And they made their cake look bigger by using loads of whipped cream . We cut into the cake to find just as much whipped cream than cake. From now on if I want I 3 leches cake from them I will order it white & go elsewhere to have it decorated. Don't waste your time here if you want a special cake. All they know how to do is standard flowers or balloons on a cake. But even then you may get the wrong cake boxed so check your cake before you leave. Don't bother asking for a discount bc all they do is apologize & promise it won't happen again with no compensation for THEIR errors. read more

A gem and must try! I've been coming to Luceros for years now and always get their tres leches cakes + churros. Always a hit at birthday parties. I'm writing this review because I ordered my sons birthday cake and let me tell you, it exceeded my exceptions! I got a two tiered cake - top was red velvet with cream cheese filling and bottom was marble with cream cheese filling. Everyone, and I mean everyone, at the party ate 1-2 slices. I didn't expect the entire cake to be eaten if I'm being honest since a lot of people don't really eat cake at parties. But I think the presentation of the cake made people interested and the first few folks who tried the cake were raving about how good it was so that encouraged everyone to try a piece. 10/10.
