I am surprised by many of the reviews for this Lowe's because I have never had a less than satisfactory experience. Customer service especially has in my experience been far better than the other big box home improvement store in town. Selection is excellent, brands are high quality. Value is rather subjective given the lack of competition in the category of big box home improvement stores; but to my mind this one's better than the other. Frankly, I would prefer a local Hardware but they are getting pretty rare. read more

Careful with any advertised pricing in the store, especially "manager specials" as they're not honored when you check out. Bought a couple of ripped open bags of soil while I was in store that were advertised as $4 for today only. This store is abysmal. Save yourself some headache and go to the Bremerton store. I went there to buy some 5/4" X 6"cedar deck planks. I needed about 30 boards. There were about 20 left on the pile. All the remaining 20 on the rack were rejected by previous customers due to the condition of the boards. Splits on both ends ,warped, cupped. bent, and damage. basically the garbage of the pile. I asked the guy working in the back if he could bring down the new sling of boards for me and he said the ones on the bottom need to be used up first. I asked again and he said the new pile would have the same thing in it and began arguing with me about it. I wasn't going to indulge him with a response. I put my stuff down and walked out of the store and will never go back to that store ever. Get your employees under control!!!!!! read more

Absolutely terrible customer service. I placed a several thousand dollar online order (not to any store in particular, but this Lowe's location chose to fulfill it). On the day of the scheduled delivery (weeks after it was placed) they called to say they decided to not fulfill the order because they couldn't be bothered to pay to ship the items and decided they = cancelled the order (even though I had paid $85 for shipping). When I asked if they could then please transfer the order to another store that would be willing to fulfill it, they told me that wasn't their problem and that they would not do anything to fix it, as they couldn't be bothered. They said the order would remain canceled and my only recourse was to place a new order without the 50% off Black Friday discount I had received on the original order since that sale was now over. We had a very good experience at Lowe's today. They unfortunately are under staffed but everyone was very nice. There was a gentleman in self checkout that was extremely rude to a clerk who was obviously new and my husband told him to shut up! There is no reason to be rude and if you are that frustrated don't shop! I was in the Silverdale store on Tuesday 1/14/2020 I purchased 2 utility hanging lamps and a box of 6 light bulbs. All of this to be used and installed into a convertible during the cold and snow. You need to realize I am handicapped. One trip was the goal. When I went to put everything together, nothing worked! The bulb would not screw in, due to the lamp tracks being bent. The other one, would not even turn on. The most disparaging thing about this was my call to the store about a return. The man acted as if I were disturbing him and some more important task. We bought a GE washing machine in January. We bought all the protection plans. The machine has not worked for even 20 loads. It has been broken and waiting for repair on for over 1/2 the time that we have owned the thing. GE makes us wait 30 or more days for a repair person. I have asked both lowes and GE to replace this lemon. Neither will. I will never, NEVER, buy a major item from Lowe's again, and NEVER buy a GE appliance again. read more

Bought a new water heater here...top brand. Factory relief valve had 2 leaks. Lowe's manager Jill was rude and completely unhelpful. "Nothing we can do, take it up with the manufacturer". This after 6 weeks of purchase and one day after professional install. Number they provide doesn't answer. New relief valve provided to install at my expense IS THE WRONG ONE. Absolutely worst experience when trying to do an online order for delivery fulfilled by the Silverdale, WA store. Needed to order some fiberglass roofing panels, and Lowe's was the only place that had them relatively nearby (although still more than an hour's drive away). I went to place the order via their website for delivery, and figured that I'd check to see what it would cost to get all the materials from vs from the Home Depot a few miles away from my house. Prices were comparable, and the website said that delivery would be $104 either way if I went with just the roofing panels or the entire order. Made sense, since they're sending a truck out it would cost the same no matter if it was just a little on the truck or a fair sized order. So I ordered on via their website, received a confirmation email that confirmed the prices (including the delivery cost) and figured that would be it. The next day I checked the order status on their website and that's when the entire process went sideways. The website showed that delivery would be $213, many of the items shows the wrong price (including that it said that the calk was -$0.06 each, and yes, that's a negative price), the pressure treated 4"x4"x8' boards were listed twice, once for pickup and once for delivery (but unlike the other delivery items the status for it was blank instead of being "in process"), and there was an unknown charge listed as a "price adjustment" for $84.72, and none of the amounts added up correctly to what it should have been or the total cost shown there. So I called customer service and spoke to a representative, who said that in their system the order was correct, and the $213 was the "correct" delivery cost. Couldn't give any answers as to why it didn't show that when it was originally ordered, and also didn't see the price adjustment on her computer (and couldn't give any answers as to why it shows differently on the website). She ended up sending me a copy of the order confirmation email to show how the order was received in their system, and it showed the 4"x4" as being for pickup and the higher delivery cost then the original order confirmation email that I received. Because I didn't want to wait on hold again, I emailed their customer service about the discrepancies, attaching PDF copies of that was shown in my original order confirmation email, the Lowe's website, and the order confirmation email that the customer service rep had forwarded to me. The "Johnna M." who responded to my email essentially ignored most of my concerns and questions, but said that she would have someone from the Silverdale store call me to see about adjusting the delivery cost. In the meantime I had received the fiberglass roofing, delivered from the Bremerton, WA store but the paperwork indicates that it was "sold from" the Silverdale store (Bremerton is just a little further away from me and right next to Silverdale). The order was placed Saturday night and those were delivered the next Wednesday. A couple of days later I finally got the delivery scheduled for the following Monday for the rest of my order with a delivery window of 8AM to 8PM. I got an email that morning that the 4"x4"s had been picked up, so I figured that they had figured it out and put them on the truck for delivery with the rest of the order. Waited home all day, and at 7PM got a voicemail that the driver had ran out of time that day and they had already rescheduled the delivery for the following Saturday and given me a 10% discount of the entire order. Even though they never had called about the extra delivery charges, the 10% off worked out be about the same as the additional delivery charge so I was just going to let it slide. The materials did come that Saturday, minus the 4"x4"s (two week after initially placing the order, and a week and a half after Bremerton was able to deliver their part). No idea why they didn't just do the entire order from one store and in one delivery, but the delivery drive was quite personable, helpful, and courteous, puting the materials exactly where I asked. He was perhaps the only bright spot in the entire process. Had to call customer service again about the missing 4"x4"s (since I had already been charged for them), and they contacted the Silverdale store and had them delivered a few days later. I was just going to let it all go and never order from them again, but today I finally got to the point where I was going to be laying out the plywood flooring for my deck, and noticed that it was thinner then it should be. Sure enough, instead of the 23/32 inch plywood that I had ordered and paid for, they had delivered 19/32 inch, so the plywood is 1/8th of an inch thinner then it should be. Between the buggy website, the poor service for the customer care people, and the shoddy and slow fulfillment from the Silverdale store I'd have been better off just renting a U-Haul and getting the stuff myself. read more

WHAT A JOKE I needed a new Fire extinguisher's one for my car and the other for my home. I did a order on line and a curb side pick up. When I got to the store I called no one answered NO ONE ANSWERED any of the line I tried. After sitting in the car for a half hr. I went inside several store clerks just standing around while the phones rang off the hooks not doing a darn think. I have a compromised immune system and walk with a cane. I didn't have a mask I was staying in my car I thought. I wasn't the only one trying to get their stuff either. If you going to have curb side pick up then ANSWER YOUR DARN PHONES so the customer can get there items. My normal store is in Bremerton and they are WONDERFUL I had a Dr apt at Harrison so for convenience and save time I purchased it in Silverdale. Don't bother with store pickup. I've tried multiple times and each time it was multiple days to wait for them to pull the items off the shelf and on a couple of occasions they just cancelled the order without notification leaving me waiting for an email my order was ready. Not worth it trying it. Trying to do the whole social distancing thing but when they can't go grab the items off the shelf for multiple days it gets a little excessive. read more

I wanted to buy a hot water heater. I called Home Depot to arrange purchase and delivery. They had the heater in stock but told me they couldn't deliver for two weeks. I could rent the Home Depot truck and do the delivery myself but I couldn't reserve the truck. Furthermore I could not even purchase the water heater over the phone as they wouldn't accept my credit card. It was one "No can do" after another. I hung up and called Lowe's. They also had what I needed in stock. I got delivery in 5 days, paid over the phone. No Worries. Lowe's earned a new loyal customer. read more

If I could give this store no stars I would. On Aug 28 2023 I went to the Silverdale Store an purchased a Microwave and free standing gas range. I arranged for install of both items. I was also told that I qualified for a rebate on the installation. On Sep 11 the installer arrived at my house. He installed the microwave and went out to unbox the range. He came back in and said that the range would be going back because it had a dent in the side of it. He further stated that before leaving the store he pointed out to staff that the box was dented. They did not bother to inspect the range they told the installer it was OK. So I contacted Phillip Cushman Assistant Manager at the store he stated that he was going to investigate further and I should call him back if I got any update from the installer. I waited 2 more hours past the install time for a total of 5 hours for the installer to call me back and say they needed to order a new range an he would not be back. I took leave from work that day so it was basically a wasted day. After getting the information from the installer I attempted to contact Cushman. I was told by a store operator that he would contact me when he could. As of 10/2/23 I am still waiting for him to call me back. Since the 11th I made several calls to the store and was put on hold or just disconnected it is impossible to get any one on the phone for assistance. I called the installation center and they said they would put in paper work that required the store to respond in 2 days. if they didn't they would escalate the issue. I found out later that these notices to the store were ignored and not answered. After several more phone calls that got me no where. I was finally told that the range would be at the store on 9-21. I arranged for the install on 30 Sep between 11& 2. I got a call from the installer after 2 saying he was running late. He then called me back and told me he contacted the store and my range had already been picked up. I called install center after an explanation the lady and a 27 minute phone later I was told that she was going to stay in communication with the store and find the range. Apparently it was put in location that was different than the location on inventory. The installer arrived after 3 and left at 5. Another day wasted because of screw ups at the Silverdale Store. I contacted the install center regarding this horrible experience. I explained that I am a disabled vet and a senior citizen. They offered me $134.00 for my inconvenience. I told them that was a slap in the face that my time was worth more than that. Scott Fox the installation Center Manager said that all he would offer. His tone was he did not care which seems to be the attitude of all the employees. There is always some one else that will buy our stuff. We don't value you as a customer. Final analysis - you want customer service and some one that really cares about it's customers DON"T SHOP AT LOWES! ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE SENIOR OR A VET. read more

I usually do all my home improvement shopping at Lowe's I've never had a problem with them but this particular Lowe's is lacking in customer service. I recently bought a house and immediately went to this Lowe's to get a fence installed. The first red flag should have been when they had to reschedule my initial appointment for the assessment and quote, they person we meet with was nice enough and I didn't think anything of it. The contractor then scheduled an appointment to make a final assessment to order materials, and let me just say this man has a hard time keeping his appointments. I showed him where I wanted what and told him what I wanted and what I was promised and he said we'd get the ball rolling. Then the problems started... The delivery of materials was delayed and when it did arrive they didn't drop it all off anywhere near where they were told to do it. Then the contractor came or rather an employee of the contractor and notified me that they were starting construction and it should be finished in 2-3 days. Day 1 results in only ONE person working on my fence and fence posts put in the wrong places, and being told that the wrong posts were ordered and my finishes fence could be delayed a whole month for custom post caps! There were so many issues and I had to call Lowe's to have them fixed several times, my 2-3 day fence took 2 months! And when I told them that their contractor was terrible and I was disappointed in their service and would like a partial refund or store credit I received no response. A refund was not an unreasonable request the project should have been simple and easy for the amount of money I paid for it and I didn't get simple or easy. I also believe that with the amount of times I had to call and complain to get what I was promised, a refund should have been offered instead of me having to ask for it. I will no longer be shopping at Lowe's, maybe Home Depot has better customer service and knows how to pick a quality contractor. read more

We purchased an extended warranty through Lowes, and the soonest they can send out someone to fix it is in over 3 weeks. I used to have a very good opinion about Lowe's. But today (July 6, 2022) I experienced extremely rude customer service. I live about 45 minutes away from Lowe's, so I called to inquire about purchasing black-out blinds before making a trip. The customer service agent answered with an I-don't-care monotone, and the call degenerated from there. I asked to speak to someone in blinds and window coverings. The rep said she wasn't sure if there was anyone in that department today, but she would try and reach them. No one was in, she stated as she came back on the phone and asked if she could refer me to a nearby department. My question was complex, so I doubted that would work. I asked, "Do you know when someone in that department might be there?" She said, "I don't have access to their schedule and if I did, I couldn't tell a customer." Incredulous, I asked, "Do you mean you can't tell me if someone will be in that department tomorrow?" She replied, in her same indifferent tone, "I don't have access to their schedules, honey, that's six steps above my pay grade." OK. I know businesses have staffing shortages. But (a), it is never OK to call a customer "honey," unless you work in a Southern diner, and (b) a customer service agent should adopt a friendly, helpful tone, even if a store policy makes no sense (e,g., If you can't say when your department will be staffed). I can fault Lowe's overall for not providing valuable information to customers, but her rude behavior is also a reflection of management and the store's brand. (Full disclosure: I did not swear at this rep, but I was so offended, I shouted, "Well, thank you, honey, dear, sweetheart!" and hung up.) I guess I won't be shopping at Lowe's any time soon, if they have so little regard for their customers. read more

I placed an order for a dishwasher online and chose to have it delivered to my house. When I purchased it, it said that I would be contacted by my local store (Silverdale, WA) within 24 hours of 1/1/17 to schedule delivery. The store never contacted me. I contacted the store 4 days after they were supposed to call me (I gave them the benefit of the doubt with the holiday) The woman who answered said that they had my dishwasher at the store and that the soonest they could deliver it would be the following week because they only delivered across the bridge once a week. There is no bridge between Silverdale and Hansville. After further conversation, I realized that this woman had no idea where Hansville is, despite the fact that we're in the same county and just 40 minutes from her store. I tried to correct her, but she insisted that it was on the Olympic Peninsula. This made me nervous that my dishwasher would be put on the wrong truck, further delaying delivery so I decided to just pick it up myself, which I did today. When I got it home, I found a tag on the side of the box saying that it had arrived at the Silverdale store 9 days ago! They had my dishwasher just sitting in their store for 5 days before I called them. No effort was made to contact me or notify me that my dishwasher had arrived. The store had both my phone number and my e-mail address and should have contacted me the day it arrived or the day after. This was an item that I already paid for, the money had been taken out of my account almost 2 weeks earlier. What if I had continued waiting and didn't take the initiative to contact customer service? Would I still be sitting here wondering where my dishwasher is? We're planning on purchasing several more appliances later this year, but after this experience, we will not be buying anything else from Lowes. read more

Went to Lowes in Silverdale online to shop for new flooring in my home. Began to evaluate the store from the reviews, noticed that most of the reviews were 1, an 2s, noting that store employees were few, and hard to find, unhelpful and discourteous. Then I noticed that the reviews ranged from 2014 to 2020 - no reviews at all for 2022. The reviews were also scrambled date so that the shopper could not discern discern if the service was possibly getting better over time. My conclusion: service is not getting better, its getting worse and these are ploys to hide it from prospective shoppers. No thanks Lowes, I'll look elsewhere and keep my fingers crossed. read more

Avoid this store. I'm writing an abbreviated version of what happened that doesn't include how I was lied to about the delivery time, the lack of follow-up to confirm a late delivery, and how the store manager, Jeremy Hash, blows off customer requests because it was 5 pm on Friday he wanted to go home. When our refrigerator died, I went to Lowe's, ordered a new one and paid for delivery, installation, and hauling the old one away. On the day of delivery, Lowe's called after my delivery window had opened to say that the delivery truck broke down. They found another truck and said the refrigerator "might" be delivered in the evening. At about 6 pm, a Lowe's branded delivery truck showed up. The driver said he would only put the refrigerator in the garage. He refused to get it up to the kitchen, install it, and haul the old one away. I called the store to remind them that I had paid for delivery, installation, and hauling, and the assistant manager, "Steve", agreed. He said the driver knew that he was supposed to do all three, but just didn't. We refused the delivery and have requested a refund. The refund was apparently issued but two days later I'm still waiting for it to hit my bank account. read more

Unbelievable... especially since I told her all the issues I had been having for the past 5 days... trying to get the online ordered "resourced" to the store nearest my home for delivery. I called back to talk to a manager and she told me that there was nothing she could do since the order is now canceled!!! Who does this to their customers ! Lowe's is really struggling to meet customer expectations... they have no idea how bad their systems are and why would they expect a customer to do all of this when YOU made the error! Okay. So I go into this Silverdale store for assistance with flooring. The first associate I see in the flooring dept. I ask if he could help me. This is how he answers me. With what? So I explain. Then he says he doesn't know much about flooring so I go and push the button for assistance. Then he says why did you push the button. I answer and say because you said you didn't know about flooring and I need someone who knows. What a total jerk. First, he makes me feel very uncomfortable and stupid. First, we had a sale price on a Profile induction cook top yanked away before our eyes--with Lowe's front office saying it was a mistake on their part, which was interesting since it was advertised at that price for over a week, with sales person saying what good seller it was. More importantly, Lowe's installation service is a sham and unreliable. It appears they have a limited number of installation experts, but when volume goes high, they call in others who simply don't have the knowledge or experience to install something like an induction cooktop. It took the 3rd string installer a half a day to do the work on this one piece and he still didn't get it right. We were told it would take several weeks to get someone there to fix it right. We got an electrician to do the fix in 15 minutes. Lastly, the person in charge of scheduling our installations told us she had called us and left emails to confirm the date. This never happened. They she admitted she had been gone from work for a couple of weeks and had screwed up. The lying about calling and leaving messages happened again when Lowe's newly appointed installer, who was to fix the first screw up, called a week late and then had to the gall to claim she had left us a voice message the day before. Simply not true. There are a couple of sales people on the floor who know what they are talking about. But the head office, and some of their out-sourced installers are incompetent and will tell lies to get themselves off the hook. BEWARE! read more

I gave this Lowe's 2 stars only b/c the woman at the returns actually helped me. Alright, I walk into Lowe's so I don't know the layout. What do I do? Well I go to what I think is customer service counter. I entered were there were pumpkins & some plants I think it was the entrance nearest your garden center. I come into the store there are TWO women at the counter in separate booths . The one I have an issue with was the one with afro puffs who for whatever reason treated me like I was an alien. I did not hear a "may I help you" my request was easy I only wanted to know were a tool was to unclog my sink drain. That was all. But she seemed to not want to be bothered. I didn't much like that treatment but I waited patiently. The other woman helped. When I returned back to the front a few minutes later? What do I see but same woman talking with her two friends at the counter. This made me mad. Now customer service doesn't mean serve who YOU WANT to serve but serve everyone & my request was very easy if she would have bothered to stick around to ask. I'm very self sufficient & I am well aware how no one wants to be bothered, that they hate their job I get all that. But be thankful you have one even if your over qualified. I left Lowes pretty mad. Then once I found what I was looking for I could not find were to pay for it. So the first person I see in a red Lowe's vest? I wave her down so I can get the heck out of there! The woman seemed a bit tense trust me I didn't want to be around her no more than she wanting to be around me but guess what? I had to pay for my item. All I wanted was to know were to find an item!
