Went in last Tuesday to buy concrete , by the time I left the store I had one of the employees coming at me in a threatening manner ! (Also in my opinion threatening me ) he was calling me names (" F---ker" and "limp dick") I have been trying to get ahold of assistant manager , they says she is there 4 hours a day ( but never there when I call) The manager ((Richard Eck ?) they say is there only on Thursday (but not when I call on Thursday) So Calling John at corporate? read more

This store staff is incredibly rude. I literally went through the entire store without one person offering to help me find anything. And without asking me to wear a mask. Then when they finally approached me to tell me that I could not finish my shopping because I did not have a mask on. I told them that I had a medical condition and that I could not wear a mask. They then proceeded to tell me that even though I had that medical condition they would not allow me to purchase the items that I already had picked out. This store is garbage and should not be shopped at. So much for living in America home of the brave land of the FREE! Talk about deceptive marketing. We went into the discount room at the back of the store and their were yard flags on metal stands. Their was one price tag visable. When we went to pay, at first the cashier was not going to give us the discount. He called Sandy the Manager up front. She gave us the discount but then had the cashier take the flag off it's stake and pulled another price tag out of the inside of the flag. Sandy was begrudgingly going to give us the discount on the flag. My issue with this was their was only one price visable on the flags. My second problem was Sandy she was less then friendly, almost rude and instead if trying to correct it by putting up sign that said flag and pole sold separately she just kept replying that's how she displayed them. I've been coming to this Ace hardware since it opened. I used to go because it's the closest to my house. Now I go because I'm most likely going to be greeted at the door, offered assistance, and helped by someone who knows the store and the products. It may not be as cheap as the big boxes but I'm willing to pay a little more for competence and friendliness, both often lacking at the big boxes. read more

I recently discovered that they just opened an Ace Hardware store in Bremerton. While I rarely review a chain retail store, unless I've had a great or horrible experience, I realized that there were as of yet no reviews for this store, and I get a strange satisfaction when I see that I am the "first to review" a business. Anyway, I walked in to inquire about bed bug traps because the other day I was horrified to notice what I thought might be signs of a bed bug presence in my house. Oh joy! Anyway, the staff did not appear to judge me. It was a fairly quick transaction. The staff was very nice and led me to the appropriate aisle where I found what I needed.. The store is gleaming as a new store should. Wish me luck with the bed bug situation. read more

Thank you for the neighborhood hardware! Living in West Bremerton makes it difficult to finish a home project because the box stores are in Silverdale. Though at times Kitsap Lumber comes through from time to time, they close early on Saturday and don't open on Sunday. Having Ace 5 minutes away is handy. The staff is friendly and helpful. The store is laid out nicely, clean and well stocked. They might be a little higher in price, but I'm happy to pay it if it saves me a trip to Silverdale and I can be back at home in less than 15 minutes. read more

Stopped in today for half inch pvc pipe & corner joint fittings. Didn't see any pvc pipe, despite the entire aisle of plumbing supplies. I asked a nice guy who worked there & he produced the pipes from the back! I guess they just don't have room for everything in the front of the store. He quickly helped me find the fittings I needed & asked if I needed any glue or sealant. I declined because I thought I already had some but I wish I had taken him up on his offer to help me pick that out as well! Maybe I'll go back & get some tomorrow. read more

Most of the sales staff have steered me to the wrong products and tools for the duo projects I was attempting. It's cost me time and money. With the exception of hardware, staff seems highly inexperienced. Some of pretended not to see me when I am looking for help so they can continue socializing with themselves. Younger female sales staff are all over the men but are barely civil when it's my turn (middle aged female). I come here because it's close to home and I am not a huge fan of Lowe's and Home Depot but I long for a competently staffed, friendly hardware store... read more

My beef is with the stores policy on the rewards program. Prices are high at ace compared to other stores, but if you aren't part of their "rewards" program then the prices are even higher! My biggest issue is that they will literally ask you to recite your personal phone number out loud. I stood in line and watched 8 people in front of me annoyingly requested to recite their personal phone numbers and then repeat it when the cashier couldn't hear correctly, which was about half the time. It was very obvious by watching the reactions of the costumers, that they were uncomfortable yelling their personal digits to a group of strangers. This is very invasive. Get with the times ace and have people enter their numbers into a keypad like all the other crappy corporations do. When I told the cashier if I could just enter my number into the keypad because I didn't feel like blurting it out, she looked at me like I was crazy and gave me a pen and paper. These companies are ridiculous. Bremerton doesn't need ace hardware and their inflated prices. Obviously the cashier was just doing the job she was asked to do, but I doubt she would be comfortable blurting her number out in front of 6 dudes she's never met before.. think about it. read more

Bought a jigsaw from ace. I tried it out and found out the bit kept falling out ever few times i cut through laminate. On top of that it did not cut straight enough lines. I tried to return it the next day and they told me i could only return if i was unopened and within 60 days. Policies like this does not help out customers when they come to find out the product is useless. Majority of stores including lowes (which is where i should go back to since they were very helpful to me even though they couldnt get me the right battery for my saw) have an excellent return policy. With lowes i was able to try out the product and return it when I found it to be useless to me due to the fact the battery did not fit the charger (an employee had suggested i buy that). It was a quick return from lowes. DO NOT SHOP AT A STORE WITH THIS BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. Even though they asked to help me find a product, however non of the employees have any knowledge of how the saws are used or any suggestions whatsoever. It is very wrong for a store to not allow a customer to use the product and give a 30 day minimum return policy if he or she dislikes or finds problems with the product(s) that they buy. read more

So glad this store is here. It has saved me numerous trips to Silverdale or Home Depot. It's seldom that I don't find what I'm looking for. It's a smaller chain type store so I don't think the intention of the cooperation was for it to be well stocked in bulk supplies. More like if you need a smaller items you don't have in your tool box or maybe you need a o ring, something to that effect. It is very good. Absolutely abysmal customer service. I went in looking to price out some new tools for the workshop I'm building up. Didn't necessarily go in to spend money right then and there but to possibly purchase from them at a later date. I go in, am asked if I need any help. Politely inform the women that, no, I'm fine, I'm just looking around. Ok, cool. It's her job, no big deal. I go to use the bathroom, come back. 'sir, can I help you?' different guy this time. Tell him 'no I'm fine, thank you. Actually can you price this for me? I didn't see a tag?' he prices it. Cool. Thank you. I go about my business browsing the store. Same guy comes around. At this point I know they're watching me. 'uh sir? Seriously is there anything I can help you find' and again, I tell him 'no, I'm just looking'. He then says to me 'well, there's a lot of theft here, so if you're not going to buy anything I'm gonna ask you to leave'. At this point I'm flabbergasted. Absolutely offended. "Fine whatever" I buy the book of matches I had picked up and left, all the while the women who approached me and the other guy (I'm assuming loss prevention) watched me to make sure I left. I was absolutely livid that they would profile me in this way, and have never in my life seen such atrocious customer service. Rude, and unfriendly people. Do not shop here if you want to be treated like a criminal and a nuisance.
