Every tool I need is available within minutes from our house. Have lots of options for lighting, repeat work and other minor to major repairs. Store is always so clean and well organized. If you can't find it here, you're probably just looking in the wrong spot. Sales associates are always available and the app is spot on when trying to locate any item you search for. I'll take this Home Depot over Lowe's when I need actual Home repair or remodeling. I do wish their garden center was just a little more expanded to accommodate my yard needs; but Poulsbo compensates for Silverdale in that department. read more

Made the mistake of trying to have my $4,000 sliding door delivered, for which they charged me an addition $87. Their agent never put it on the truck, to deliver as promised. I just went through a similar experience with Lowe's trying to have a dishwasher delivered. After 3 reschedules I just picked it up. Just cancelled the Home Depot delivery and had my money refunded. I came in from out of town to move some things my brother left me. Rented the Van. Due to circumstances I wasn't able to get back until 0903. While the staff was unable check the van back in, they did make note of when I got there. Jesse was a superstar, she took the keys, gas receipt, and did a quick safety check of the van, tell me that she turn them into rental in the morning. Next morning I called and the van was checked in. I was expecting to have to pay for the night, but the superstar in rental (sorry I didn't get his name) only charged me until closing! Bought a RYOBI wet dry vac in an emergency. Got it home to start doing water removal as quickly as possible. 1 latch was missing. Now that I need it for vacuuming up home renovation dust that other latch is important. No one here seems to care. Phone transfers with some yelling in between of 'YOU NEED YO TRANSFER TO HARDWARE!!!' Then I was disconnected. I called back. Was told there was NOTHING that could be done. I used to work retail a million years ago when in college. There is ALWAYS something that can be done. Saturday 6/15 I called from another town and asked if they rented drum sanders foe my wood floor project. Yes. Does rental include sandpaper. No. How much and do you have that available? $13+ each and yes. Got it, I am on my way. Arrived at the store and they grabbed the sander and told me I needed 1 sandpaper for every 100', so I said I need 6 of each. 60, 80, and 100 grit. They only have 1 of the 100 grit. Can you grab it off of your floor? No....and they probably dont have it. When will you get it in? Maybe next week. Well, as I am renting it now, for a project that must be completed before Tuesday I was trying to problem solve on the fly (I had a house fire and it needs to be done before I can schedule the vent cleaners and move back in. Did I mention I am living in a tent in my backyard? I asked if I could take it and get the first 2 grits done and I know I can get the paper on Monday morning from the other tool rental place and finish it and return it Monday. Nope, won't do it. I asked for a manager. Manager was called and says will give me $10 off rental, which doesn't even pay my gas. I ask to speak to a manager. Manager was called and says will give me $50 off. I say you are not getting the point. $70 to rent for 4 hours and you don't have the item to complete the project. I am trying to get this done. Manager please. They make me wait and 2 assistant managers appear after quite some time to manage me. This is a great Home Depot. Came in to buy treadmill oil, paint and paint supplies. We couldn't find the treadmill oil and asked a staff member who told us the aisle and still couldn't find it so I asked another staff member who was super patient and walked us straight to it. After I grabbed a can of it, it started leaking so she took it from me, walked back and got a new one and gave me a rag to wipe my hands. Thanks for being thoughtful. Customer service is lacking at this location. I had arrived at the location and pulled into a curbside pick-up spot sandwiched between 2 cars, one of which was parked at an angle. I was trying to watch to ensure I did not hit them and missed the sign's instruction. I called into the store to let them know I had arrived and asked who I should talk to. She rudely told me they have instructions on the signs in the parking spot. Excellent customer service would have been to say, "I can help you." I Parked into another stall and went into the store for my purchase. I did notify the manager and he said it would be taken care of. My husband and neighbor have had several incidents of rude employees and employees not wanting to help you find an item. I was inquiring about flooring. I was curious to see how Home Depot compared to other local retailers and most know if they can beat a competitor. Upon asking the flooring guy, he rudely told me he does not show around other stores. Point is, these customer service people need to know how to respond if they do not know an answer. The proper answer would have been, "I'm sorry, I am not familiar with the local prices." On top of it, the mask makes it hard to see their expression, so it is important to sound presentable. Perhaps they also need to get in the game and know how their competitors are doing to be more competitive and/or marketable. Lastly, it is hard to find someone to help you. I had gone in for a water heater. I had to ask the appliance person if someone could help me. I have been a home depot fan and customer for years and years. I have purchased flooring, paint, building supplies, deck packages, kitchen appliances, tools, parts, fence material, and the list goes on. I venture to say I have spent huge sums of money there. I have often felt that Home Depot Silverdale customer service was far better than Lowes Silverdale. That has changed over the past year. I have noticed a significant decline in customer service at Home Depot. Yesterday sealed the deal for us. We will no longer shop Home Depot and we encourage you all especially if you are a Veteran or Active Duty Service Member in the Kitsap County area. I will explain why. Two days ago my wife and I went to home Depot to purchase a washer and dryer set. We were kind of in a hurry it took a little longer to get someone to help us in appliances. We knew the units we wanted and promptly told the Home Depot employee what we wanted. She was not thrilled to help us and treated us like we were the last person in a bar at 1:45 AM asking for a beer. We are pretty mellow people so we just stood by as she rung up the order. And when asked about the military discount she said it did not apply to this washer and dryer sale (it sure did at Lowes) We walked out of the store not really paying attention to the receipt and hurring to get our daughter to her appointment. When we got home my wife took a close look at the receipt and realized the store had added hoses and cords to the order that we did not need, and the price of the units were off too. No big deal right!!! Wrong, we went back the next day and went to customer service, we talked to the young man who was very professional and helpful. It appeared he was new at his job and asked his supervisor for help. We were simply asking to take the unnecessary stuff off the order so we would not have to pay for stuff we did not need. The supervisor(Manager) looked at the young man helping us and said tell them they will have to wait until the stuff is delivered and then return it. We said hmmm well I am surprised you cannot fix this. So I looked at the young man and said we will just return the entire set and go to Lowes. That seemed to be fine with the Manager too. It is hard to get a tone off of email, let me just say we were not being shitty. We were being very nice, I was now frustrated. We left Home Depot a little frustrated and headed to Lowes. I will keep this short....They took very good care of us. We got a washer and dryer set that was a step up from the unit at Home Depot. We got our military discount and a thank you for your service and we saved $300. Not to mention when we asked Home Depot if they would put our new set on our existing pedestal they said no it was a liability, Lowes said absolutely. Not only that the sales person was knowledgeable enough about her appliances she said the pedestals are the same size and totally compatible. The funny thing is a couple of customers who were behind us in line at Home Depot were also at Lowes and talked to us about what they observed, they also said that would be the last time they shop at Home Depot. Okay so the take away is, Lowes goes the extra mile, their employee are professional, nice, knowledgeable, and willing to go the extra mile. And for you Active Service or Vets they appreciate your service unlike Home Depot in Silverdale. We know Home Depot is a huge corporation and the $2,000 dollars they lost on our washer and dryer do not mean a thing to them. That is the point that gets to me, they just do not care about one sale. Maybe if the rest of us military families just started shopping at Lowes in Silverdale they would get the point and do a little training of their employees on customer service to include the Service Center Managers..... I wanted to buy a hot water heater and arrange delivery they had the heater in stock but told me the couldn't deliver for two weeks. I could rent the Home Depot truck and do the delivery myself but I couldn't reserve the truck. Furthermore I could not even purchase the water heater over the phone as they wouldn't accept my credit card. It was one "No can do" after another. I hung up and called Lowe's. I would highly suggest not getting a line of credit with Home Depot if you expect to ever have a good experience with their customer service. I paid my balance, in full, last week. It came out of my bank account and has been posted to my credit account, but my available credit is still not there (causing my card to decline in the store, but I guess that's on me for expecting there to be credit when my payment was posted to my account). I called their customer service line to see what was going on and the connection was horrendous (I had full service on my phone, so it wasn't on my end). I could barely hear the agent on the other end and he kept pressing buttons in my ear over and over again, pretended to try to transfer me to another department but really just put me on mute for several minutes (I worked at a call center. I know the difference between mute and hold), came back on the line and told me that the department was busy, asked me if I wanted to wait, and then hung up on me when I said yes. I have since sent them a message from my account about the incident and about my credit balance and filled out a scathing customer service survey. None of which they seem to care about because I haven't heard a word from them and my credit balance is STILL not there. I may just cancel my card with them and head on over to Lowe's. Maybe they will care a little more about their customers than Home Depot does. read more

I bought a Razorback garden rake a couple of years ago. It came with a lifetime guarantee. A few days ago my rake came apart. It took it to the Home Depot In Silverdale WA expecting to be able to exchange it. Their customer service rep told me he couldn't exchange it with a new one because they weren't able to do a price comparison because they no longer carry that rake. They have a very comparable Husky guaranteed for life rake. But for some reason they just can't do it. Ridiculous. While finding this location might require a GPS, it is certainly worth it. We have been almost exclusively dealing with the HD in Poulsbo, but the extra few miles to Silverdale are beneficial for a better organized store and competent staff. We were graciously helped by someone in the flooring department who actually knew a thing or two about tiling a floor. It seems being a "contractor for twenty years" is a pre-req for HD employment, and we were misled by the employees at the Poulsbo location. However, this employee in Silverdale was both knowledgable and helpful. The store also had a more extensive inventory than the HD in Poulsbo - especially in the tile department. read more

Recently purchased our first home and we've done tons of home improvements. EVERY time we come here for help its amazing. We needed a bracket for our stackable washer/dryer..and they somehow found one in the back ..nobody else had any in town. We seriously almost drove to Everett to get one from Best Buy there. Also, recently our shower was having problems and my husband went to Lowe's first, looking for some filter...they didn't have any. DO NOT USE THIS STORE FOR ANY REMODEL NEEDS. My parents (who don't use FB or Yelp much) have had a close to a year long (they started this process last summer) nightmare from these people. Lesson learned just contact contractors yourself! I have never in my life seen a project be delayed due to negligent communication so many times in my life. Leaving them without the utilities to use their kitchen for a lot of this, having to wash dishes in a bathtub for months when the entire project should have taken a few weeks is so unacceptable. After a couple months and the first set back (none of this was due to complications from the house it was ALL communication, ordering, and one guy even broke their counter top) my parents were told it would be done BEFORE THANKSGIVING and here we are basically it's MAY and it's still not 100% completed. I was looking for carpet installation and went to Home Depot as I had a good experience when I had ordered my faux wood blinds from this same home depot with installation back in 2002. I live in Oregon but my rental property is in WA. I spoke with an Oregon home depot representative on 6/14 for my carpet install in my WA rental property. He told me to call the WA store to place an order. I called on 6/15 and spoke with a representative and scheduled my measurement on 6/19. I specifically asked about the carpet I liked from the Oregon store which was a 3 days sale. The WA rep told me it was 5 days but they were taking a little longer than that. I told him I was on a time crunch and needed it the week of 7/4. he said he would talk to his manger. he then called me back and said it was possible as long as we could get the measurement in and order it as soon as I got the quote. the quote was available on the 21st. I called on the 21st and paid for the carpet. The lady on the phone tried 2 times to input my visa number but it was declined. I then called my Visa rep and they said they were inputting the expiration date in wrong. I called HD again to place the order. She put the numbers in again. She then said everything went fine in charging my visa. I confirmed with her that I had 5 day carpet ordered and that it would be delivered the week of 7/4. 6/22 at 6am I received an email from home depot that my visa was declined. I called my visa rep who said they saw that because they kept putting in the wrong expiration date, the visa company declined for fear of fraudulent charges. I then called HD again while on hold with my Visa company to put the charges back on. It did finally go through which the visa confirmed. I was then notified by HD that it takes 24 hours for the charges to go where it needs to go. I have now wasted another 24 hours because of home depot tech who put the numbers in wrong. 6/23 at 2 pm, the Romanoff Floors Customer service sent an email that were able to put in the carpet on 7/12 or 13. the problem is that when I ordered it, it was only supposed to take 5 days, after I was charged for the carpet. My charges went through on 6/23. I could have been a day earlier if the people inputting the data , did it right the 1st time. even if we work on on business days, my time frame should still work. 5 days starting 23rd. should be delivered by 6/30 abd earliest would be the afternoon on the 12th. My issue is that 5 day carpet is taking me 19 days. I called fri to the installers after getting the delivery days that were sent to me via email. "Nothing to do" "It' a fri, every supervisor that can help you is gone until Monday. I now am wasting another 3 days. I called the Silverdale HD fri evening after work. susan, an assist manager who listened to my sad story of having to repair my whole house because of my hoarder tenants. Susan looked at what rolls were available at their store and called a nearby store to see what they had in. She was trying to help me. the problem is still that they have to wait until Monday because the supervisors that can check my measurements to make sure what they have in stock, will work. So now another wasted 3 days that could have been productive, because nothing can happen unless they have supervisors there, which is only mon-fri business hrs. Susan has helped to pull some samples together which I can't see b/c the samples are not in OR. I called a store near me and there is nothing within 100 miles of me. they can only be found in WA. I don't want to order a carpet that I can't see in person. The colors online look different then in my hand. I compared a swatch from Home depot to their online website and it looks different. Why should I take that chance? Susan was very helpful and spent a lot of time trying to help me, but is limited in her position. My biggest complaint is that I ordered the 5 day carpet that is supposed to be in stock for quicker delivery. I asked when I placed the order and when I gave them my visa to confirm that I could get this installed when I needed it to happen. I had plans for that weekend to get photos done for the sale of the place to get it on the market ASAP. I was ok with it getting installed on the 6th. The definition of fraud "wrongful or criminal deception intended to result in financial or personal gain." They told me it could be done before I gave them my visa number. After the order was placed and my credit card charged, they tell me another date. They shouldn't have told that it could have been delivered. If they would have told me earlier that it couldn't have been done, I would have ordered elsewhere. Deceitful! I just want my carpet that I paid for when I asked for it to be delivered. I would also appreciate my 10% military discount, but they said no. read more

I want everyone to know about The Home Depot's Lifeproof carpet. Do NOT buy this carpet! It's garbage! I bought less than 800sf of Lifeproof Morningside rice paper carpet, and their highest quality carpet pad, and paid $4500.00 for this GARBAGE! It was installed by Home Depot, and the installers did a terrible job. Wasn't tucked in, no tack strip or glue was used when installed. Now It's fraying, seams are showing, loops have pulled up, and it's zippering! Home Depot refuses to fix this. I found out that Mohawk manufactures Lifeproof carpet for Home Depot, and Mohawk points their finger back to Home Depot and their installers. Neither multi million dollar company will back their product! After months of research and trying to get something done I finally sent a demand letter to Home Depot corporate office asking them to remove and replace this GARBAGE. I've also sent a copy of this demand letter to our Washington state Attorney Generals office! Don't buy this Garbage carpet, DON'T DO IT, you'll be so sorry.... DON'T HIRE HOME DEPOT TO DO REPAIRS ON YOUR HOUSE!!!!!!!! I am still waiting for my roof to be done. I hired home depot thinking a multi billion dollar company would surely hire competent construction workers. NOT They hire a 24 year old to do my roof. He finds some damage, tells me I need to hire a Structural engineer, $1,000.00 for the report. 3 weeks in waiting for all of this, while my roof is half torn off. When I want to get the contractor to give me an estimate on what the engineer's report suggests, I can't reach him. He doesn't return calls. A week goes by, NOTHING. I found out he went fishing. They started this job July 9th. Today is Aug 20th. I am still waiting. Had to hire another contractor to do the job. Asked HOme Depot to NOT give me the kid who started the roofing. I hope to have my roof by the end of Aug. But that isn't the end of the story. The same time I hired them to do my roof, I hired them to do my bath. 5,000.00 bath redo. They set up the appt. to do the install. ON that day, between 8-10 is when they were scheduled. At 10;30 I call to see where they are, they said "oh, someone should have called you, we can't do it today, we need to do it next week". Next week comes. An employee calls and asks "How many workers are there?" I said "NONE" . He said I am going to forward this to my supervisor who will call you back within the hour." That was one week ago.
