I brought multiple chainsaws in be sharpened I was told that I would be gotten to that day But instead they didn't even get looked at until 2 Days later three days after that I finally got my chainsaw blades back read more

UPDATE! As previously noted, a new Briggs engine was ordered for my Craftsman riding mower. The new engine was received exactly 7 days later. With help we brought the mower to Small Engine Clinic the next day. The following day I received a call that the unit was ready to be picked up. Again, with help, I was able to pick up the unit the following day. Tested while at the shop - starts quickly, runs, sounds great. For less than half the cost of a new riding mower I now have a NEW mower. This one will last more than 10 years as I plan to perform annual maintenance - oil change, drain gas at end of season, inspect belt, etc. Needless to say, I am happy with my decision to replace the engine and choosing Small Engine Clinic, Bremerton, Washington to perform the work from beginning to end. If possible, I would suggest a visit to their showroom and chat with their knowledgeable and friendly staff. read more

Brought my 4 year old Honda self-propelled, electric start mower in for a tune up and to fix a sticking transmission. (hard to start, wouldn't stay running, and the drive wheels froze when pulling the mower backwards) 4 hours later I was called that they had sharpened the blades, adjusted the cables and found some dirt in the carb bowl. Paid $138 for the tune service. When asked about the wheels freezing up, he said that it is still a bit hard to pull back and would probably need a new transmission. Basically he didn't want to fix it. The drive wheels weren't a bit hard to pull back, they froze up - on dry pavement - when I tested it in front of him. Still not wanting to fix it, I told him I could not use the mower in that condition and to fix it. two weeks, a new transmission, and $165 later, the mower died w/in 5 minutes of me trying to mow my yard. I called and bitched and asked them what could cause the problem as I didn't intend to have my mower sit in their shop yet again. I was told "probably some dirt in the carb bowl, just tap the bowl, that should work" I spent the next two hours taking the carb apart and cleaning it myself (what did I get for my original $135?). Dirt in the venture, idle set too low, choke mechanism had not been lubricated. And the wheels still stick when I pull it backwards on soft ground. read more

i was on hold for over 7 minutes and then the part I asked for she said I definitely do not have it and have never sold one before. It was a oil pipe kit, per echo. She must have a good memory if she can make the statement she has never sold one. She also said echo did not show one. But when we went on line we found about 5 places that had them with the very same part number I gave her. Guess the local businesses do not want to be bothered so I guess we have to order online. Will never waste my time again calling them!!!!! read more

I've been taking my mower to the Small Engine Clinic in Bremerton for years even though they've been raising their prices to the point where they have almost doubled for the same work. It's been convenient and closeby. The front desk clerk, Andrea, is very nice but Heaven help you if you ever have to deal with the older guy who works in the back. What a rude, nasty, curt, impatient bastard. Would not even consider looking at my mower because they were backed up for 2 weeks.I will never take my mower back. Took my mower instead to the Skookum Contract Services off Auto Center Way in Bremerton. Their cost was half the prices charged at the Small Engine Clinic for the same work. Repair person John was very nice as well. read more

The worst service ever... lets just say i paid for service that was stated to me was completed and on the repair order completed.... guess again, they took my money and never did the work!!! I filed a BBB complaint and feel all of you should do so too. I am fighting the charges with my visa card also. I asked for a 10% discount and the owner (harold) asked me why? this is your 1st time here... so he said NO, and i said this will be my last time here!!! read more

STAY FAR FAR AWAY! There are a few times in life when you are stunned by a business owners lack of customer service. Then there are the times when you are made to feel so stupid by that same business owner that you take the time to write a review such as this as well as campaign vigorously with anyone who will listen to STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. Unless of course you like spending large amounts of cash and getting no help whatsoever. I purchased an expensive ($500) line trimmer from this guy 2 weeks ago. During the sale he was animated and very helpful (of course, he was getting into my pocket) The trimmer has the capacity to convert to a brush cutter with the removal of the trimmer head. A very simple task I was assured. After a week of use I was ready to convert to a brush cutter and declare jihad on blackberry bushes. Low and behold the trimmer head would not disengage. After a lot of effort, I decided it best to return to the shop where I purchased it for assistance. I did not want to force it and possibly break something. A simple task for such an expert small engine repairman. Should take what..... 5 minutes? When I arrived I had to wait for him to come from the back. When he did and I explained the problem, he grabbed the machine and started reefing on the head just as I had. When he determined he was unable to make it budge he expertly stated " it's stuck....you need to get a strap wrench and twist it off". He then started to leave. I asked if he had such a wrench to which he stated, "yes I do but I have work to do" and walked off. I also walked off and will never go back. I suggest you do exactly the same. read more

First time TERRIBLE experience. The work I authorized was not done. The work they did was not authorized. Believe the bad reviews. I had hoped against hope, but they lived down to their reputation. Owner was hostile and indifferent and completely unapologetic to the problem. His daughter lied to me, saying he's a master Honda technician who would be performing the service on my Honda generator. This also turned out to be a complete lie, as the owner told me himself that he did not do any of the work on my machine, but Bill did. What a complete and utter nightmare scam deception. So we ended up spending $100 for literally nothing. We were refunded for the parts we did not authorize, and were returned my original plug and air filter. Bonus!: He let me keep the 18 oz of motor oil, although, an oil service was not requested required nor authorized. STAY FAR AWAY! read more

Honestly, I really do like supporting local businesses...but call me old school if I still expect some semblance of customer appreciation. I've tried to like this place but OMG that guy (owner?) is just a condescending *******! When I was looking for my first Husqvarna (model 359) chainsaw I visited their shop (when it was in old town S'dale) to ask some questions. I knew his prices were higher than what I could get it for online but I was ok w/ that if the service was good. He made me feel like an idiot. It was like he purposely was trying to lose a sale. I bought the saw online.... I now needed a place to have my chains sharpened. This shop was not far from work so I began dropping 3-4 chains off at at time when they needed a better sharpening job than i was doing at home. No customer skills at all...it was like talking to a light post. Now, the woman there (his daughter maybe?) was fine to deal with. She was human. I'm still unsure about him, perhaps a human-borg hybrid. At this time I'm not willing to test this theory though! Eventually I found another local sharpening place and could sever my ties. I'm sure they have redeeming qualities since they've been in business for some time. I just chose to go elsewhere. read more

I won't go back again...ever. The owner I don't know his name is rude, a jerk and has a real attitude problem. I took my lawn mower in to be repaired and was told they would have to order parts for it, which shouldn't take long. When I hadn't heard back from them in 2 weeks, I called to inquire about my lawn mower. I was told by the lady there that the parts were on order but it would take two months to get them??? I asked why I hadn't been contacted...that's an extremely long time to wait and not be notified. The lady said that wasn't their practice, they didn't notify customers. When I went to the store the next day to pick up my lawn mower. The owner wanted to know why I was taking my lawn mower back. When I told him about the waiting time and not being notified. He became very abrasive, got in my face and acted like he wanted to get in fight with me. To make a long story short, I took it to another guy who had the parts and got the mower back in two days. The guy who repaired my lawn mower (the second time) said he's gland that guy is in business...he gets so many unsatisfied that come to him from the small engine clinic he's always got work. read more

I have a hard time believing the low reviews, every business has unhappy customers and those are more likely to leave comments. Me; nothing but the best experiences, been there many many times. sometimes a four rating a couple five ratings but never less than four. I do not feel people have right to complain about prices where they take their equipment, we can shop around. For me, cheaper than than others and more than others. Good middle of the road price and the workmanship is fantastic. They called me to authorize the replacement of rusted fuel take inside and the overall price before fixing. There is a reason they have been in business since Christ was a cowboy....They are good. Take your equipment in off season, like lawn and garden equipment now and winter equipment in the summer, otherwise be patient and wait your turn. read more

Well this has been the absolute worst experience, took my mower to them and specifically told them what I wanted fixed and how much I wanted to spend. Needless to say what was broken is still broken and I am out $150. Asked them to repair the key start and pull rope yet they changed the spark plug, air filter and sharpened the blade I mean really I could've done that and still had a broken key start. Harold was absolutely rude to me over the phone and in person when I went back. Said that maybe my emotions were running high due to my chemotherapy treatments, I mean really what a JERK!!!! BTW yes I am bald from having just finished chemotherapy and radiation but my mower is still broken Harold. I would give this ZERO STARS read more

This is a small family run business I have supported by buying 4-5 pieces of equipment over the years. However, I had no need for service work (warranty or otherwise) until recently. The last purchase - a tiller - had a valid and well documented warranty issue. Instead, I was charged for the repair. It was at this time that I realized you cannot reason with these folks and communication skills aren't their strong point. It is also worth noting that as a factory authorized dealer they are the gatekeeper to your warranty. That said, this is a great place to buy parts and get advice, but because of their failure to stand behind the product they sell and the warranty I would not buy new equipment from them. To make this experience even worse the repair failed after a few weeks and it was back into the shop again. read more

All the other reviews about this place are right on, except the one good one, that one was probably written by someone who works there. These guys are really abrasive. They charged me $50 to get a chainsaw back that they hadn't even worked on. read more

We took our lawn mower in to have it looked at because it was not working properly after just buying it in April 2016. When we dropped it off - we specifically told them - and it's high-lighted on the receipt - do not do any work if there is any charges! AT NO TIME did they mention to us that they have a fee to just look at the mower!! We thought because it was under warranty - that this would be taken care of - and WE never saw their sign! Plus - they never mentioned anything to us about this 47.83 fee! BE AWARE! Be sure you know what you are getting into if you take anything there to be worked on! IN addition - the people there really didn't know what they were even talking about! The engine on our mower hasn't been working right for a while - and they tried to say that it was all due to being tipped on it's side and oil getting into the filter! We know that this is not the case!! Please - BE AWARE - I wouldn't suggest taking anything to them! They really do not have good customer service - they aren't friendly - they take their sweet time to do any kind of work or even look at the mower! It's interesting - all very bad reviews!!! It's obvious the only good one had to have been written by an owner! Sad!!! Next step - BBB! read more

Andrea is very helpful & knowledgeable. Repairs and maintenance have always been high quality. They are very busy - If you have some annual service needs I would suggest getting them in at least 1 month before the season starts. read more

I just had my pressure washer fixed and I felt good about the cost and very good about the detailed explanation of the problem and suggested maintenance. That experience was similar to previous jobs on saws, lawn mowers, etc. Different people over the years (no clue about the owner) all seem to want to help as much as seasonal rushes will allow. read more

I took my mower in as it wouldn't even start. They told me up front how much it would be and how they were changing everything out and if it would be more they would call me. They did call a few days later and said the tune up was enough and it runs great. They even took the time to show me how to start it (I have never mowed a lawn in my life and got this mower from my brother) and operate it. They were very nice and helpful with what kind of gas I should use, etc. I have recommended this place to my friends and was very happy wth the service. And no, I do not work there. read more

I don't normally write reviews but these guys have pretty negative reviews and I had great service from them. I brought in a broken compactor and told them to do whatever it takes to fix it. They found out the engine needed replacing and offered to install a new or used engine. They had the new engine installed within two days and I was back in business (3 days total). Prices were fair, service was quick, and I was happy! read more

I bought a Echo blower from Harold at that store had nothing but problems with it I had to take it back to the store six times and he charged me to fix it once and the seventh time I brought it back Harold the owner said he would have to charge me again. I have no confidence at all in Harold or the people in the store. Each time it was exactly the same issue he does not know what he is doing. They do not have customer service there. read more

I am very disappointed in the mechanics and customer service. I took my Karcher pressure washer to them because we were having an issue with the "pressure." I should have been wary initially when they called my husband on 6/19/17 to say they were unable to start it. He showed up, asked to give it a try and after pulling the choke, it started up on the first pull. As a mechanic, how to do forget to pull the choke? Okay, be that as it may, we figured they still knew more than we did on how to fix the pressure issue so left it there to be repaired. We get a call a little while later saying it's fixed, $71.94 later and for 45 minutes of their time, I was told when I picked it up that the fitting was on backwards, but otherwise it was "a good little machine" by the mechanic. We took it home to test it. First pull of the trigger, pressure was fine and it remained fine so long as you didn't take your hand off of the trigger, but if you took your hand off the trigger, no pressure. I was annoyed that I was charged for 45 minutes of time to turn a fitting around that likely took 5 minutes or less and the exact same problem we took it in for remained. I waited a week and a half to decide what I was going to do about it, then called when I took a second look at their invoice which stated "30 DAY WARRANTY PARTS AND LABOR WORK DONE." I assumed that this would be easy, make a call, and they would say, "Bring it back, we'll take a look." But, no... I was told by the mechanic that took my call that it worked fine when they had it. I asked them how they tested it and was told that they they used their own gun and ran it for a couple of minutes without issue. The mechanic then proceeded to tell me it was probably MY gun or MY water pressure because it worked fine for him. I told him, same problem at two different homes with two different water systems. He then proceeded to blame it on my gun. I'm fuming by now, because if you had my pressure washer for less than 10 minutes for a pressure issue, but never tested MY gun and instead used your own AND charged me for 45 minutes, WHY DID YOU NOT TEST MY GUN? The mechanic then advised that 45 minutes was their minimum billing. I wasn't getting anywhere with the mechanic so ended the call and went on my own quest to find the source of my pressure washer pressure problem and found it here: https://youtu.be/WfUcXlBZRxk. My pressure washer is now fixed BY ME and cost me about 10 cents or less in white lithium grease and about 15 minutes of my time, including fully testing it. If I left it up to the mechanic's advice it'd be out another $30 for a new gun. Small Engine Clinic, you need mechanics that know what they're doing and will also take responsibility for failing to properly make the requested repair, which I paid for. Now the real test is what will you do to make this right? read more

I have never given such a poor review of another business -- it actually saddens me to do so -- but I feel that other potential customers should be aware. They may or may not be great mechanics, but I'll never know because of their terrible attitude toward their customers. After I listened to "Chris" talk for nearly 10 minutes, I dared to comment on the shop's poor communication skills with their customers (they did not meet their timeline, nor explain fees up front). I was interrupted & told "Pay your $54 bench fee. Pick up your mower" and was HUNG UP ON. "Chris" was on speaker phone this entire time, and his complete & utter rudeness was heard by my father, mother, sister, and brother-in-law who ALL happen to be homeowners with lawn equipment. Guess where none of them nor their friends will ever take their business? I did call back to report this poor service because as a manager and small business owner myself, I would absolutely want to know if my staff was costing me money. I was essentially told that 1) they do not have time to communicate with their customers, and that 2) there is a sign so that they do not have to do so. I honestly cannot understand how places with such poor service manage to stay in business. Tip: If you must go there out of sheer desperation, do not expect your equipment to even be looked at in the time frame they quote for the work to be completed, and if you want it to be serviced at all it seems you must keep your mouth zipped & hand over your credit card without question. read more

These people are wonderful. They have been saving our butts for years and we have a lot of equipment to burden them with...often. I do what I can as a mechanic, but, this place is the 'go to' place, there is no doubt. Ignore the other negative comments. You will always see complaints posted if they don't get what they want, when they want it at the price they wanted. Consider that the Small Eng Clinic is the most popular one of it's type in the area. "They Are Very Busy" and they are in big demand. It's the only place I go. Well Kitsap Tractor too because I bought a Honda Generator from them on sale and they support the warranty there. 'Everything' else we own came from the Small Engine Clinic. Love you guys! I would give a zero but this company will gauge you. I had a $250 limit with an estimate. After they did the work and spent the $250 and no call to me until they already did the work without my ok they called and said it will be another $100 to get it out of the shop. I called every week to check and after keeping my mower for over two months And a $379 out of my pocket I finally got my mower back. I should have ran and checked everything before I left the store because after getting it home, it didn't work properly at all and it still doesn't work. Plus, the customer service over the phone SUCKS!!! read more
