Horrible customer service: an order never arrived, yet I am charged with shipping fees. Trying to clear up, and no luck. Instead they've re-ordered it without my consent. I've spent weeks on phone, email and "chat" trying to clear this up with no luck so far. They insist I "returned" it, which I never even got, so have to pay shipping. Dillon Brown did installations of sheds for customers. We hired him to install ours. He did a horrible, sloppy job. Corners weren't squared, and other things were off. We had to hire someone else to fix everything. Then, after he left, we realized a couple thousand dollars of snap on tools were missing. I ordered windows and sliders in October. The installer called to say the windows were in and to make an appointment. No one told me I had to accept delivery of the windows and materials the day before. The driver had an incorrect cell phone number. Installation day-After the windows and sliders were installed the installers tell me they don't have the casing, tan color caulking, and other materials to finish the inside of the windows. I call the sales person who sold me the windows. He says he will pick them and he is busy. Come to find out that it has to come from the window manufacturer because its color matched. How can you miss ordering casing for 6 windows? Who is going to be held accountable? I thought a licensed contractor was installing the windows. That is what I paid for. That didn't happen. I called the installation support this morning and no one reported what happened. This company is so disorganized. Once they take your money they don't care what they do. Now I have to wait for it to be ordered which can take another 6 or more weeks. This is ridiculous and great example of corporate greed. read more

I'm so frustrated almost every time I go to Lowe's on Boronda Road, Salinas. Today was just another fine example of how they are terrible at customer service. Right now (during COVID-19) they only have the self-service machines, plus one clerk at the end with some makeshift table to help those that don't want to use the machines or if there's a problem with one. One machine is CASH ONLY, the other is DEBIT ONLY. Today I guess it look 4 clerks to ring up one customer with two carts of construction material. The two machine there stopped working so all customers had to wait for the four Lowe's clerks to finish helping this one guy. Mind you there were 6 customers waiting in line. Sadly this isn't a onetime occurrence and I'm just sick of it. Time to head back to Home Depot. I must say one other issue I had last year as I had purchased of $6,000 of appliances (microwave, gas range and refrigerator). It took 4 months to get my fridge as I guess everyone was buying fridges. Seems funny to me but it's okay and the manufacturer literally was building the appliances as orders were being placed. The fridge wasn't that big of a deal as I didn't think it was Lowe's issue. ??? It's all good. The problem was that I paid cash for all except $500 which I put on my new Lowe's credit card so I could get an account established there. I really didn't need the card. However, I got a statement, paid 1/4 of the due amount, even though I had 6 months before I even needed to make a payment. I received a "late fee" of $35.00 and some other fee that Lowe's couldn't explain. When speaking to Lowe's credit department to question these charges I was told I paid TOO EARLY! WHAT??? Yes, I paid before they really wanted the money. Literally 30 days before it was even due. Lowe's reversed the fees and I paid them in full right then and will never use the card again. I told them I'm pretty sure what you did is illegal and sent an email to the store manager, Francisco (I think is his name). We purchased a washer and dryer recently at the Salinas Lowe's and even paid a little more for a model that was supposed to be available in one week. It has now been four weeks and still no W/D. They have rescheduled our delivery multiple times and not shown up. The last time the customer service rep assured me it would be on the truck today. No delivery. And no call. Every time I call I am put on hold or nobody picks up. Today, the CS reps hung up on me - twice. What the heck is going on over there? This is NO way to run a business if you want to keep customers. I'm cancelling my order (if I can even get I touch with them to let them know) even though it will mean yet another trip to the laundromat with laundry for a family of 4. I'm beyond frustrated. I don't get paid the salary of a checker nor do I get a discount for checking myself out at the register. I had to walk out, leave my stuff there and go to Home Depot. My experience with Lowe's customer service has to be one of THE worst I've ever had. Every manager at that store is so beyond incompetent, I don't understand how they're in any position of power. Let's begin with Ray: Ray lied and stated he would have my headboard expedited in 2-3 days to me because it was delivered broken and the warehouse staff were also just as useless, so thinking that Ray was actually helping out, I took his word. Shame on me for believing him, as it turns out, Ray never placed any expedited order. Instead, he left me with a broken product and led me to believe I was receiving another one. Marcus: his patience with me was appreciated, but despite having one of his managers lie to me, deliver me a broken product, and refuse to get his GM out to speak with me because he's "the person who takes care of shipping", I was still receiving crappy service with no guarantees that I'd be receiving my new headboard this week. I was over the "we can't guarantee anything" bit. Roxie: my interaction was brief but so unprofessional. I asked to speak with the GM, said he was in a meeting and after I specifically said that I need to speak with him to rectify this situation, she said ok and proceeded to walk away! I had to follow her around until we reached an Employees Only door and just left me! A few minutes later, she comes back out and goes "oh where did the girl go?" First of all, I am in my late twenties, I'm not some teen girl throwing a fit; I paid for a product that was broken and was getting no where in resolving my issue. And never once was I given the opportunity to speak with the Francisco, the GM. I was given the "he's in a meeting" excuse every single time. Unless you prefer to shop at a location where they constantly hang up the phone on you, can't assist in simple manager duties, and have inept people run the place, then I suggest going elsewhere. I love this store. Much better customer service than "the other place"...lol! When ever i am walking around the aisles, the staff is always saying hello and asking me if I need assistance. They are so helpful. I has an issue with paint and the colors I ordered. It didn't match the swatch samples and the staff in the paint department really took the time to find and mix paints to match what I wanted. Thank you so much!!!! The lady in the nursery is not helpful. I wish her service matched those inside the store. I was dissatisfied that in order to get a veterans discount you must be in their system. Other businesses that I have patronized only required to show proof of being a veteran when I showed my VA identification card I was still denied a discount. It was not until I asked for the store manager to override to get the discount however, he said I still needed to sign into their system. What about veterans that do not have internet access. I gave a one star because the staff in the store working in the flooring department were absolutely wonderful. However, the installers that Lowe's sent to install my carpet were horrid. They scraped and scratched my walls as they installed the carpet. They grumbled out loud about the amount of work required and claimed they didn't have enough materials to do the job. They broke one window screen when they decided to remove the carpet through the second floor window without consulting either me or my wife. They threw carpet off the roof to break two bushes in front of my house and then shouted vulgarities in Spanish at me after finishing the install. They broke the closet door guides and only installed one instead of the two required. They left nasty cheese remnants from their lunch that they ate over my new carpet and were seen smoking a cigarette over the new carpet before installing it in my home. He intimidated my wife who signed the receipt, even though he did not offer the extra materials for us to keep nor did he provide any information as he walked her through the house at the end of the install. We found all the bad install pieces after they left. The very worst thing they did was demand extra payment to remove the old carpet from the premises. The foreman (Jose Luis Rodriguez) threatened to unload all the old carpet on my front lawn if I didn't hand over 32 dollars right then and there. When I contacted Lowe's about it, Monica promised to seek redress for the additional cost in the form of store credit from her manager, but she never called again. If you buy an alliance from Lowes, please be aware that they use a third party for deliveries. I purchased an $800 washer yesterday due for delivery today between 2:30-6:30! They were at my house at 11, demanding we get home or they would leave our appliance on the curb. When my partner arrived home, they continued to be rude and were ranting and raving about having to wait on her. Mind you she had to leave work earlier in freight of our new appliance being left. I would re consider having a purchase delivered by lowes! #Beware this was way not cool. And I will Not buy any more appliances from Lowes again!!!!! Unsatisfactory on both behalf's. Pay no attention to the fact that I ordered these appliances two months ago and was given a delivery date that was completely disregarded. I, just this week,finally and with joy received an email to confirm the delivery intention of the precious (almost a week's worth of labor for my dearest appliance buying husband) package. I confirmed to the confirmation with my confirmation via technology and like a young couple awaiting a scheduled surgically Cesarean birth we prepared for the assured delivery of the precious refrigerator. Nesting as I was for the imminent delivery I emptied the cuckold fridge. My maiden daughter and I, with pride of purpose spent delicate hours in consolidating all the pickles and sauces, re-wrapping the cheeses, coddling cellophane bags of leafy greens, and purging odd unmarked containers of nostalgic fat. We put our treasure into insulated coolers with frozen gel pacs as a time capsule to be reinstated in but a few hours. They would be returned to their comfortable respite of 36+- degrees. We waited. And then at 9:55 we checked. Our delivery was indeed confirmed Upon checking the tracking online of said delivery I see a message that ruefully states : "could not be started" Excuse me, what? They confirmed and they could not start? The Good: I like the store and the organization. Much easier to find things than at HD. Most of the employees have been helpful. I was able to find things at Lowes I couldn't find at HD. The Poor: 1) Not enough employees on the floor, or at least not so that you can find them without going on a hunt for them. 2) Some employees are NOT WEARING THEIR MASKS PROPERLY. If your nose isn't covered, you aren't wearing a mask. Why is management tolerating this? If it's just sliding down, get one that isn't made of a stretchy knit and get one that fits properly. If your glasses are fogging, get one with an adjustable nose piece and then glue in a bit of cotton inside the edge around the top half to keep the air from escaping up. Mostly, just figure it out already. Get a mask that fits, and wear it properly. 3) No way to contact Lowe's by email on their site. 4) Not sure anyone from Lowe's is even reading their YELP when I see so many unhappy customers here who haven't been replied to. read more

Went to buy one thing, had a mobile gift card. The cashier was struggling and couldn't figure out how to process the giftcard basically told me I couldn't use it. Thankfully a manager came over and fixed the situation and processed the gift card. Then I had an online pickup order of 2 cans of paint and some other items. Both cans of paint do not have the paint sample on top, but I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but surprise surprise when I get home I have 2 cans of white paint! No paint stirrers in my order. Went over to the paint department to ask for some. The older woman who was working the paint counter was so rude! She left me standing there while she was going to mix some paint. I get that it wasn't a big deal to wait but I was in a hurry and it wouldn't take long to grab a few stirrers from under the counter. I approached her and said excuse me could I get a few paint stirrers. She just ignores me. Goes into the aisle gets a can of paint for another task she is doing. Comes back grabs the paint stirrers and slams them onto the counter across from where I am standing. Still doesn't say a word, doesn't even look my way! So I walk around grab them and say out loud wow that was super rude! I've never experienced such rudeness at this location but seeing all the bad reviews now this doesn't surprise me. read more

The French doors couldn't be installed because they were the wrong size. It's been two weeks, and I have yet to hear from Lowes. I've left messages & texted, but I haven't heard back from them. I have recently been to this location several times, always helpful staff although like many retailers, when busy you might need to wait a bit to get someone who specializes in a certain area. We have been doing some refreshing of our home so bought paint, electrical outlet covers, towelbars, toilets, exterior light fixture, entryway mats, etc. Well stocked or readily ordered & available within a few days. Plenty of variety in each section & excellent prices, far better than the other big box place in town. Had them give an estimate for new vinyl flooring installation; priced well below the competition so we got that scheduled & done. Very pleased with the result. Went smoothly with only a minor hiccup that was quickly resolved. Also purchased moving boxes & supplies so while waiting for some to be brought down by forklift from above, pleased to see the safety precautions being followed to protect both workers & customers. Garden center people know their stuff or will immediately research to answer any of your questions about plant care or materials. Credit application process was simple & easy. When using your account to make a purchase, everything is tied to phone # so if you need to return an item, no paper receipt needed to track it. Handy cuz those can easily go astray during projects & we did purchase some extras that went back later with no issue. Easy checkout with either personable cashiers, or use self scanners. Additional assistance for those contractors needing pro service, which can help coordinate with other department desks. Nothing but positives from my experience. Expect to continue doing business with Lowe's for my next project too. read more

DO NOT buy their extended warranty for anything . They wanted me to wait over 30 days for an appointment for a service call to just look at my washer that was under the extended warranty. They sub-contract to really unreliable people. Then they do not stand behind the warranty what so ever. The person said " they were the boss" when I asked to speak with a supervisor. My first appointment with the repair guy was a no show. Then they said it would be another 3 1/2 weeks before they could try someone else. read more

This is the worst experience at Lowe's I've ever had. I came in to buy garage storage racks and cabinets - nothing was in the right spot - I had to piece through the entire section to find what I needed - no one around to ask for help. The worst was checking out, the person ringing me up couldn't find a bar-code on a paint tray liner - she made it seem like it was my fault for not getting tray liners with bar-codes. Then, she asked me to go get one with a bar-code. I asked why she thought the others would have bar codes when the ones I grabbed didn't? She insisted that they would and stared at me waiting for me to go get one with a bar-code. After a minute long stare off (I lost) I asked if it was typically the customers responsibility to do this? Finally one of the two Lows workers that was standing there killing time asked to me to relax and that he would go get one. 5 minutes later he still had not come back - with a long line behind me waiting - I told the clerk to forget them and ring me up.. I stopped at Ace on the way home - very nice people at Ace. My suggestion to anyone thinking of going to Lowe's - Stop - get online and get whatever you need from Amazon or go to Ace, Sad, but this is why stores close! read more

A contract that my Husband and I signed July 9th to replace our roof, to this day we don't have a roof on our house. This store is proof of why buy local when you can get better service buying online? From start to finish, my first experience of this store has been terrible. I came into the store to purchase a water softener. When I entered the plumbing department, the first employee told me he had not been trained in much, so he would get someone who had been. Then the next employee told me the plumbing expert was on lunch and I should wait an hour until he returned (WHAT? No one else in the store can order a water softener??). The next woman was super helpful, however she ordered me a water softener that was discontinued and WOULD NEVER HAVE ARRIVED TO THE STORE. EVER. It was discontinued. When I paid for the discontinued water softener, the cashier had literally no idea how to input my phone number so I could pay for the order and she had to ask 3 different people. I was told an installer would call me to estimate the job which would either be $199 or $299 depending on the labor. He stood me up on 2 different days (3 hour waiting window each day) and finally contacted me so I could text him some pictures of the installation area. He quoted me OVER $600 worth of labor including $130 for a $17 hose, $150 to remove the existing water softener (listed as FREE on the Lowe's website) and a bunch of ridiculous charges. I was told on a Friday I could expect my refund that day (didn't happen and I had to go into the store) and I was told a district manager would call me regarding this ridiculous situation (still waiting for her call). Literally the most ridiculously unprofessional store with staff that has absolutely no idea about anything relating to home improvement. I will absolutely never shop here again. I went into Home Depot and bought a water softener off the shelf and called a plumber. For less than what Lowe's wanted. Ridiculous. Just buy from Amazon. You will get better service. read more

I have been dealing with appliances for about 3 months and they are awful. They work with Premiere Logistics and it's just like Lowe's horrible. They don't follow up with you to see where your items are or when they will be delivered. I was told TWICE about my cooktop arriving on a specific date and after the third time they delayed it for another 2 months. I was done with them.
