This store is very convenient as we live in the area. There was an older man who was very helpful & knew exactly what merchandise we needed for our projects. Now they only have what looks like kids working there that do not know anything about what they are selling. In addition, they are more interested about what they are going to do after they leave or if there is any donuts . Who is your manager ? ! There is nothing wrong with younger persons working there not at all however if your manager does not train you or expects good customer service then he or she doesn't care about this store. Sad ! read more

I barely go into this store.. I go maybe 5-6 times out of the year at that.. I went in Saturday morning looking for a T15 screwdriver to open the faceplate of my ring camera.. I ask the young man at cashier where can I find this at he direct me to the correct row.. as I was looking another employees he was short dark older man with glasses standing right behind me. I ask him what I was looking for and if this is all they had he said yes real rude.. I ask are you sure he yes.. I say ok so I stated walking out and said let me check your pockets i said are serious I was had on sweatshirt so the pocket had my keys and phone.. he accuse me that I stole there before he said he saw me.. I told him you're mistaken because I never stolen anything in my life.. i have not been in this store in months.. I work and pay for everything I get.. he was yelling at me that he saw from upstairs and I told him show me proof.. they should have cameras right.. he told me to get out and don't come back.. I did I was so upset.. so I walk down to the Dollar Tree Store to purchase a few things I needed.. This crazy man followed me in the store and started yelling at me and harassing me in there.. everybody was looking and he yelled to the employees there to watch me I was a rat in Spanish.. I never been so embarrassed and humiliated in my life.. I pay for my items and I called 911. I was so upset and shaking I waited there for a hour to see if the police will come all they did was call me and tell there nothing I could do. This man harassed me and verbal abuse me not only at his store he works he also following me into another store.. I know my rights and he was in the wrong.. he needed to show me proof that I was stealing as he assumed or call the cops that I was stealing but neither was done.. I'm the one who called the cops.. I did do a complaint to Ace corporate office..I never never in my life had ever experienced this humiliation and embarrassment. This man needs more training in harassment..what he did was very unprofessional.. read more

I wish this store didn't close early.... Try considering closing 8pm... I tend to check up this store first but I end up going to Lowe's due to the store closing early read more

they have an earnest helpful staff. They'll work hard to get you what you're looking for.

I purchased a tub faucet cartridge to install for my bathtub from Ace on Sanborn in Salinas. It was defective. I returned to the store for an exchange. Daisy, a sales associate went to get another one and the exchange process was completed, but when I opened the packaged item after I left the store, I noticed damage on the cartridge all around it, missing parts, and the package was too easy to open. It's obvious it's a used one. I return to the store to show it to to the cashier and get a new one but the Manager, Victor, did not want to give me another one nor give a refund because he said they never allow damaged ones nor used ones on the shelves to sell. I went home to install it anyways hoping it would work fine but it didn't. Leaking bad. I went back to the store to speak to Victor and I pleaded my case to Victor but I was met with a terrible attitude in customer service and untruthful statements by Daisy. No one on that Ace Hardware team acted professional and caring that evening. I can go on into detail about facts to this matter and I have proved the statements made by the associates are highly inaccurate in what transpired and even fabricated an accusation that I intentionally tried to get a new one after I broke the exchanged "new one". Even called me a liar. I relayed this issue to Ace's Customer Care Center but nobody reached out to me to be part of solution for a resolve. I feel like I've been scammed, duped, swindled, and robbed.. Now I'm stuck with a bad faucet cartridge, wasted my time and gas, and lost $45.00 then had to buy another one at $65.00 from a different hardware store and that cartridge is functioning perfectly. By the way, I've been doing business with this Ace store on Sanborn for over 10 years as it's close to my home and the next time I see someone shoplifting, I'm not going to stop them like I have in the past! read more

just now Worst customer service of any ACE store in Salinas and Monterey County. The incompetence of each and every employee, including management, at this store is astounding. Avoid this store at all costs!! My father went in to purchase a light bulb and the staff ignored him and went about talking about personal things in the store and when he asked for help they pretend to look for the item he wanted but instead put the item back on the shelf and continued to ignore him. Then they proceeded to throw him out the store because he got upset because they continued to ignore him and talk amongst themselves. The manager got into it with him and instead of de-escalating the situation both managers on duty made the situation worse by telling him to leave. My father shops at this ace regularly about 5 times a week because we live nearby and this is how this store treats a regular customer who is a veteran by the way. The lack of respect this store shows to its customer is absolutely despicable. read more

Excellent customer service, I got everything I needed. The store is clean and friendly. I recommend this hardware store for sure

I ordered an ice tea maker and after a week I was making ice tea and the heat from the brewer cracked the glass from the inside. I went to Ace Hardware in Salinas on North Stanborn Rd. I had my receipt and all the components except the original box. Victor did not let me return the item because I did not have the box. He hassled me and would not let me return the item. The return policy says nothing about having the original box. The customer service there was horrible and he was very disrespectful of the customer. I called the Ace on 1215 South Main street and spoke to Vincent who without questions returned the item with a no hassle return policy. I will not be returning to the sanborn location and deal with only the South Main Ace Hardware from now on. Vincent was very respectful and professional. He took very good care of the customer! read more

This was the only Ace store that was willing to help me by ordering an item that all the stores in the peninsula had run out of. The Ace in Marina and the two in PG just acted like it was God's will that they would get the item in any time soon - "it's out of our hands" Only the Sanborn store was helpful and ordered the out of stock item which arrived in two days. Easy Peasy. So now I'm driving over there from Monterey because they're the only store that cares. read more

My wife and I walk in the store at 8 pm and as we were half way in the store , one employee said that we had to leave cause the store closes at 8. I can understand locking the door so no one else comes in but to escort people out of the store while shopping was in my opinion rude! Looks like I'm driving to Home Depot or Lowe's from now on. read more

I called to ask for a specific item and who ever answered assured they had it and I asked again just to be sure and when I arrived (drove out of my way for miles) they lied about answering the phone and did not have the product. The staff was unhelpful. read more
