I go here for bird seed and supplies like bird feeders and nectar supplies. I have yet to get wheelbarrow yet. because I saw on DIY sites you can use wheelbarrow for moveable flowerbed, wood probably better idea, metal one you need ask advice ace on how make holes. Other plans I had set would get good gloves, and probably sea kelp Ace store was relocation from old spot which was smaller place. I don't think some people remember. However, it was better place. I think maybe they should showcase greenhouses and maybe ace workshop classes at store parking lot would be helpful. they have better storage now. But need better computers and inventory kiosk for customer search through narrow their buying means, or they can rain check order. Service when I go is good, I wish they had five pack suet stuff versus 10 pack if you get my meaning. Value go when there sale on, you save money I decided it was time to make review help them. If it sounds like out of order, I have yet find sea kelp pellets, wet form is not good because it stinks. Need wheelbarrow needs easy to use but can handle 50lbs of weight. read more

Wow! Everyone needs to come check this store out. Seems to be brand new and it is huge. Just off San Miguel Canyon Road. The staff was Helpful and Friendly. Great value in some last minute items that I didn't have to drive to a big box store for. read more

I normally ONLY stop at this ACE if I need a small, quick fix item primarily because the prices are significantly higher than the 'big box' hardware stores such as H.D. or Lowes. After buying 4 shelf brackets at the ACE in Freedom, I found that they weren't the right size for my needs and tried to return to Prunedale ACE due to proximity to my project. The young girl at the front counter looked at the receipt and told me "the owner says not to take any returns that weren't purchased from this store". They sealed the deal of no longer doing business with this store over a $20 return, with receipt, so I could buy the larger, more expensive size. That's poor service at its best! read more

Excellent human beings, so glad to see them busy in the new location. Great family run place with knowledgeable people to help. When younger, less experienced staff don't know, they don't BS, they ask their colleagues for help. Always my first stop, only to HD when they don't have what I need. read more

Every single time I've been in this store, I have been greeted at or near the door and offered help. It doesn't seem to matter whether they're super busy or super slow, the staff have always been friendly and always offered help and support. They often have a better selection of items than big box hardware stores, and a lot more expertise in picking out what will work best for you. They have good prices, especially if you factor in driving - gas and time to Salinas, Watsonville or Holister. They also support lots of local Prunedale activities, so support them! read more

Wow I'm surprised at such a low rating and some of the comments here. I always find excellent and attentive customer service here. Even when they are busy they have demonstrated great customer service. I can almost always find what I need and get help for the items I can't find. I've returned items here with no problems. I try to come here over the big box stores, as this place has that neighborhood feel, and luckily they are my closest hardware store. I keep shopping at Ace because they truly are aces in my book. read more

Stay away from this place!!! Prunedale Ace Hardware essentially ripped me off for $60. Took a screen in to Ace in Prunedale to be rescreened in June. I was to be called when it was completed. I never heard from them again. Went into the store to inquire in December. They couldn't even find the screen. No one will return my calls to get reimbursed for the lost screen. It has been a horror. read more

Ace is supposed to be the place with the helpful hardware folks. This place is far from it. Every time I've had to resort to stopping by here I always end up leaving empty handed and disappointed. The last time i was in here, I asked the manager where something was and he told me to use "google". I was displeased ! Come on guys, step up your customer service game! The owners of this ACE Hardware are the most knowledgeable of any hardware store, small or big box. We live 2 miles away, and often need some small plumbing, sprinkler, electrical or tool to finish a project that we have started, and found out when in the middle of the project, needed some special part. Home Depot is 15 miles away, and Orchard 18 miles from our house. These 2 big box stores often do not have the needed tool or part. We recently had a flood under our house, needing an additional french drain put in. Multiple connection pieces, including a flexible drain hose were needed. The owner of the ACE was able to quickly find parts that we needed. This ACE HW store almost ALWAYS has any of the unusual parts we need, and are a 10 min drive away. THANK YOU! read more

Bought some gopher baskets today and couldn't get them assembled properly. Took all 6 into the store where two employees got them assembled for me. Wasn't as easy as the directions indicated. Took the both of them about 15 minutes of brute force. They were friendly and upbeat throughout. Thanks, guys!!!! read more

Terrible customer service, was not greeted when I came in just stared at. needed help in Hardware, employee stocking shelves but never asked if I needed help .ended up walking out without anything. I double parked my pickup next to the ace hardware in Prunedale this morning in need of 3 inexpensive plastic buckets stacked up all over outside the store. I gave the kid 20 bucks to run in and pick them up knowing from past experience with other retailers, 20 dollars should cover it. After a long wait, he shows up demanding an additional 15 dollars on top of the 20 dollars he already had. it seems they were charging him over two times as much as Lowe's, Home Depot and other stores for the same thing. The others stores are at 2.97 for buckets and less than 2 bucks for lids, that's a total of 14 and change $ for 3. However, The pathetic Prunedale ace, priced them over 30 DOLLARS, on top of telling him he was getting a 15% discount. WOW how generous...Can you believe these clowns, as they stay true to form with outrages prices, and their usual lousy service. There Isn't a person I talked to in the area, that hasn't had a similar experience. From now on, I'll be happy to make the 10 mile drive to salinas. read more
