Wow Johnny who works at ace hardware in Gonzales is amazing he helped me find what I was looking for and even help me sign up for a ace rewards membership and I saw how dedicated he is with every client that came in looking for help he is fantastic and a great guy I hope his boss knows that because of johnny's excellent customer service I will be coming back again and again and the other guy who works there by the name of Joel is great too and the young man named Greg was very strong and help me load 10 bags of concrete and the other guy Sebastian who was on a tall ladder fixing the shelves came down and help me out with paint with color matching this ace hardware in Gonzales is a great place to shop 10/10 read more

This is a small store with a lot of heart. Each person that works there is soo helpful and knowledgeable. Because it is a small store there is not a lot of products and their prices are a little higher. But totally worth not driving out of town. read more

The customer service is excellent!! The store is clean and well stocked. If you need something that's not on the self, they will order it for you. They offer a good variety of items at a fair price. I recently purchased paint and the young man was able to match it to my previous paint color exactly! Forget driving to Salinas and shop local!! read more

Im writing this about the customer service. The person who I figure might be the owner is a huge grouch I called around 6pm to ask when they close and he said they close at 7, that we better hurry up because they were closing soon. Odd seeing there was a whole hour. We got there about 615, looking around and the guy asked the cashier what we were doing and if we were almost done, and asked her what time it was. Every 10 minutes he would ask the person what time it was. We still had 20 minutes before they close and I hear him telling the girl at the register that we better hurry up because he is closing and we are taking too long. Well.... maybe if someone helped customers look for what they want instead of grouching around unhappy you have to 'deal' with customers. We saw 4 employees while there, but nothing. So we went to the front to ask the girl if they had something, she looked, but the part we needed they did not carry. read more

False advertising! Horrible experience, don't order items online. They should basically not have an online store because it's false advertisement . They had in store purchase (you had to come in the store)and they had online purchase options (Limit of 5, if you try to get more it drops it back to 5 at check out. I purchased 4 cans of Lysol online, same as I was able to purchase in store about a couple of weeks ago. Same as my friend purchased in store. Morgan said Jacob the manager told her they could only do one can per customer. If you have 1 per customer limit, the same person that put the limit to 5 online should put it to 1. This is no honor to your customers that frequent your business, that call others to say, Did you know Ace in Gonzales has the Lysol in stock? Advertise what your business offers correctly or do what any respectful business does honor the customers order. **The website is still allowing people to go on and purchase up to 5 by the way! read more

I am not stoked on their customer service. I purchased a kiddie pool for same day pickup on 4/28 around 3:40PM, the store closes at 7PM. In the confirmation email and receipt of purchase it says, "We are currently processing your order. You will soon receive additional emails regarding the status of your order. For Free Store Pickup Items, please wait for your "Ready for Pick Up" email before arriving at the store". I never got another email from them. Since I ordered the pool so late in the afternoon , I decided to wait to pick it up the following day to pick it up, so I arrived at the store on 4/29 to pickup my order and they said they had it put aside for me to pick up the previous day, but that they sold it to someone else, and that they have no more in stock. In that confirmation email also said, "Your items will be held for 5 days after email notification. Please dial the store number above if you cannot pickup within that time frame." Again- still haven't even received the second and final email that my order is ready for pickup, so I double check with the clerk and she and her co worker verify that the order has been received, and are clueless to why I haven't been automatically notified.. Then they go on to tell me that I should have called first before coming in, and that they would pull it out for me to pickup the following day, 4/30 but that I should call them first. I received a call from Ace in Gonzales at 3:30 PM, but unfortunately I missed it by only a few minutes. I attempted to call them back immediately but the call goes straight to a voicemail that hasn't been setup yet. I've tried again several times since then, and it is now 5/2. I am pretty much just giving up on the order because I am not going to waste the gas and take the risks of making a trip all the way into town just to be told that they sold my order to someone else.... Again... Maybe I am wrong here? But I feel like customer service is lacking. It was a 10 dollar pool that I was going to let my dogs use in these warm spring days. But nothing I need to be going in and out to the store for, and interacting with so many people trying to pick the dang thing up, during this pandemic.. read more

Absolutely horrible experience. I went in 2 times so far to buy things ive needed only to be treated like a theif. The MANAGER followed me around the store, aisle to aisle. I told him j was fine finding what i needed and there were many others in the store who needed help but he kept following me the whole time (my first visit). This las visit i was there i was walking around and same thing happened, this time i asked why he had to be following me around and he replied "it looked as though you needed help". Im of african heritage and as he turned the corner away from me he uttered the words "dirty nigger" and i immediately dropped all my items and left. I will NEVER shop there again! read more
