I went to the lawnmower section told the two men that was there my problem. They couldn't help me enough, service was great, with a smile. I went to the Salem NH Lowe's on Friday to try to find some compressed Biobricks called Canawick fire blocks. They were supposed to be on the endcap of Aisle 23 according to their online shopping tools. They weren't there but the staff of the store was unbelievably helpful in tracking them down. It ended up they were in the top shelf out in the Lawn & Garden center but they found a forklift and took them down within a few minutes. I felt as though the staff went the extra mile to help their customer and I appreciate it a lot. I will say that the older reviews saying that the cashiers were pretty inattentive and condescending are absolutely true but the new staff is great! Recommend 100%! read more

Horrible Experience! Purchased a stackable washer/dryer for our daughter and was told it would be delivered the next day. The delivery company texted my daughter that night stating that her 4 hour delivery window for the next day was 11:30-3:30. There is a link sent with this text that allows you to keep track of how many more stops they have before delivering to you. At 2:00 it showed there were three more stops before they reached my daughter. It showed the delivery truck parked in Salem, NH in a plaza in front of a hair salon. They remained there without moving until about 5:00. All the while, we tried calling Lowe's and were given the phone number to the delivery company. The call to them said no callers ahead of us yet we remained on hold for one hour and no one ever picked up. At a little after 5:00 the delivery driver called my daughter and said it would be about an hour until he could deliver. My daughter told him they were already 1 1/2 hours after stated delivery time, that she had been waiting all day and had to shortly leave for work. She told him he must deliver within the next half hour. The washer/dryer was finally delivered shortly after 5:30. No explanation. Nothing. Don't buy anything here and if you must, please don't have it delivered. What a disaster! read more

These days one typically does online research to determine which product to buy and then looks for the exact aisle and bay location to efficiently go into a store to pick it up. This is exactly what I had done. I was specifically looking at wi-fi battery operated camera doorbells. The staff member responsible for the aisle where I went to retrieve my product last week, engaged in a conversation with me and was clearly knowledgeable about these products. Needless to say his knowledge and experience with the products saved me about $90 when I walked out with a different brand than I thought I needed. What a terrible experience I had with Lowes Salen, NH. I'm redoing my kitchen and I bought a stove among other materials on April 12. Everything arrive on April 17th except the stove, tiles where broken. When I called numerous time trying to speak with an associate and calls kept getting dropped by the system and when i finally got on with person after 5-6 attempts. The person I spoke to told that the stove would arrive next week as they no longer had it in stock. Next week comes and i get another email that the stove would not arrive and to call the store. Called the store and same issues from the week before a they put in on hold and hang up on me. Called again and same thing happen, after multiple attempts i kept getting dropped or hang up on. Someone call me back that afternoon letting me know that they would re-enter the order and that it would arrive on Tuesday, its now May 9th and the stove has not arrive and guess what?! Im calling the store and no answers. This has been the worst customer service experience I have ever had and it pains to write this because Im a Lowes customer!!! Shopping experiences at big box stores usually are fair at best for the majority of the time. We recently received great service and wanted to pass along our praise. Store 2382- Nicholas. My wife and I were purchasing a few items and also looking to rent a carpet cleaner (review below). At the service desk, Nicholas patiently answered all of our questions regarding the rental and cleaning supplies. Nicholas steered us to the smaller bottle given the number of rugs we planned to clean, explained the operation of the unit, and the required cleaning process of the unit. At checkout he informed us of the required paperwork to bring back for the return and how that process worked. Nicholas was professional, cordial, genuine, and covered all of the necessary information. Terrific job. The Bissel carpet cleaner brought back to life the 4 rugs we cleaned for the first since owning them (3+ years). The Bissel carpet cleaner was effective and easily to use. Ensure you have room for the cleaner and decent strength (lift 40 lbs) to move the unit into your car and house. My wife and I were both ecstatic at the results of the carpet cleaning. Utter disaster of a store. When it comes to a big box store I like to review others within organization and see the flaws from one to the other. My comparison would be the store in Epping, NH. The store in Salem is understaffed and has people working in departments they have little to no clue in. An employee said this is a constant issue as they try to limit hours. Lowe's has way too many computer programs from my observation. One system for online orders, one for special ordering, one for setting up a quote. I assure you they have 5+ others. If the people that are supposed to cover a department don't know how to use the tools then they are not going to be helpful, right? They have buttons you can push in various departments and it alerts the store that help is requested in that department. I literally played an entire game on my phone and flipped through 4 books of samples without any help. Had to go to customer service and wait in line while the page continued to be called out to let them know I was easily waiting more than 15 mins. They told me someone would be right over. This is the nature of the big box stores these days. What I can say is that when you push one of those buttons in Epping, help arrives rather fast and they shut off the page that resonates throughout the store. I use them when I need them but not a fun place to go if you need help from an employee. read more

I'd give zero stars if I could. These guys won't even match a price from their own store. I drove 3 hours to be at their store by 630 am because my partner bought a specific flooring for cheap the day before at a different location. I called ahead the night before to make sure they had it and I committed to the drive. When I got there the price was literally 5x what my partner paid the night before. My partner paid $10 per box and this lowes wanted $56 per box. That is an incredible difference when you are giving a bid on a floor. The manager said 5% off was the best he could do. As I began to walk out the door out of frustration, the manager said, "ok I'll give you 10%" as if he was doing a big favor! I don't ever complain but I called the corporate office. Their policy Is to have the same managers that I had issue with call me back for resolution. They called me back and as I suspected, they found nothing wrong what happened......so here is my resolution, a nice glowing review! I'm a thoroughly dissatisfied business owner and customer here. I checked online & it showed they had plenty of what I was looking for in stock... Having a merchandise store/ credit card, I was unable to use it purchasing along with curbside pick up. So I took a chance and just went to the store hopeful.... It couldn't have been 2 hours since I'd tried to do the online purchase by the time I arrived. Only to find , "0" of the item... Are you kidding me? Grrrrrrrrr! So I kept my composure & picked up a few other items I needed feeling the trip wouldn't be a waste. Time to check out.... Guess what? ALL the self check was completely out of order. The store had only 1 cashier working... The line was ridiculously long.... With that they didn't call for any back up. And so we all stood waiting & waiting .. Finally it was my turn. It was clear that the cashier was very over-worked and exhausted. Working in a warm barely air conditioned store with a mask on, behind plexiglass is just awful... I get that. I purchased a dishwasher from Lowes a couple weeks ago. They call me the night before to tell me the dishwasher was not in stock. Once they get it they will contact me. A week went by and I did not hear from them. I call them and speak to a woman in the appliance area. She says it will be here on Tuesday. The dishwasher arrived and as I start to unpack it I see it is damaged. I call my local Salem NH store and choose to go to the appliance dept. No one picks up after letting it ring for a number of minutes. I try calling the main receptionist it also rings without anyone picking it up. I then call the corporate customer service line and am told a manager will contact me within 24 hours. The next day I have not heard back and still have a broken dishwasher in my kitchen. I call the Salem Lowes again and get transferred around a few times and finally give up as the appliance guy said he was transferring me back but did not and I hear him talking to a customer as I yell hello for a few minutes. I hang up. I call back a couple hours later the receptionist says lets get you to a manager. She transfers me and the phone rings and rings until finally it goes back to the receptionist. She then tries to page the manager and I wait. She gets back on the line and transfers me again where I let the phone ring a solid 5 minutes before I hang up. I still have a broken dishwasher in my kitchen and no money to get another. read more

However, lately when I have been in the store many of the employees are not wearing masks, or "pretending" to wear them by letting them sit below their chins. I was looking for a water filter to replace a Kenmore variety for my fridge (hard to find now that Sears is gone) and I had gotten a replacement at the Home Depot last time (another not so stellar customer service experience at the one in Reading trying to find it again this time, but I digress). So, I had both brand boxes with me and wanted to see if they either had one of the brands or an equivalent. We finally found a woman sitting tucked away, almost hiding near the fridges. I asked about the filter and she immediately said nope, don't have anything, she was "filling in" and really couldn't help us, couldn't go over to the display and even look, and actually told us to just go on Amazon and buy it! Wow, way to get customers to your store... they had a huge section of filters, all different brands and I was going to look it up myself but then I said hey, why don't I do what she suggested and just order it on Amazon. So that's what I did and you can bet I won't return to this Lowe's location for anything in the future. read more

I would not even give this store a 1 star! Went in by myself female (bad back) to buy a lawn mower. No where did any one mention they can't help me load it because of the pandemic. I purchased then went to the register and asked if someone could help me load it she said she would grab someone. A kid comes out and looks as I have a suv and says I can't help you * can't load into cars and this is like a car we can only do open trucks. I come because the prices are fair - some things cheaper than home depot and some things not - and because they carry different brands. You have to research what you're looking for. With a reasonable bit of knowhow I went to Lowes to get some pipes etal..for my shower. I searched and searched and searched again then this Lowes' attendant came over and asked if I needed some help I told him I needed a short pipe and elbow plus a turn off to shift the shower water supply. He said what are you tring to accomplish. I told him than... Bingo he said you need only 1 device. He showed me a quick diverter and at a fraction of the price my limited plumbing knowledge would cost if I continued continued to go my original route. The guys name was Joe, a bit on the weight challenged side but a great person to get you to the right product! PS: I didn't have that grade of service at Home Depot...they just told me to go to such & such numbered isle. read more

I purchased lawn chairs 8 days ago at the Salem NH store. I saw they were half the price I paid and went to see if I could get a store credit or refund for the difference. First, I stood st the customer service desk for about 15 minutes while all 5 workers helped ONE customer!!! The manager Chad would not work with me on the price difference. They said the chairs were on clearance and they did not have to Refund me. So, I bought 2 at the "new lower price", not advertised as clearance anywhere, and then returned them with my receipt for the higher price at another store. Well, it's New England and winter is here. Time for a new snow shovel and car windshield scraper. Plenty of both in stock, (unlike Home Depot). Friendly staff with plenty of parking. Paid $20 for an 18" plastic shovel with an aluminum edge. Should last a few years and also bought an aluminum shovel, so the wife can help. Bought two ice scrapers as well, a 42" telescopic one for my truck ($7.98) and a 26" for the car ($5.98). Great deal, great bargain and good luck finding them elsewhere!!! read more
