Monroe, WA Lowes is the biggest dump of a store that I ever tried to shop at. Every time I go to this store I either cant find what I'm looking for or they just don't carry it. This time, in particular, I searched for the product I was looking for online and made sure that "in-store" pick up was available and it was. Website showed 66 in stock at Monroe store. Needless to say, not only could I not find them the staff that was helping could not find them either even though they looked it up from store computers and found the same results as I did. Available for in-store pick up but unable to located within the store. I have never disliked a store as much as this Lowe's. Poor management is all I can say. read more

I went to Lowe's in Monroe this last weekend (May 12) to purchase their 1.5 gallon flower baskets that are on sale Until May 16th. (2/$10)Great deal which is only reason why I gave 2 stars. (Would probably give only 1 star as far as knowledge or customer service I received from a total of 4 employees this day). However, when I went there, I could not find them. So I asked a young girl who works there where they were. She said she hadn't heard of them and looked confused. I told her my Daughter had just been in so I knew they had them but just needed help in going to right direction. She seemed put out, so I asked if there was maybe someone else who could help me that might know. She asked, "so when was your daughter in?" I told her during this last week. "Oh yah. That same is over now. Sorry." But I knew it couldn't have been so I looked online and sure enough they sale was still going on for four more days. I showed her the ad and all she could say was "yah, I guess they're gone?" So I found the next person I could find who may be interested in pointing to the direction of the flowers. He immediately said they were sold out and to go to Customer service for either a rain check or to find equivalent purchase. I get to customer service and show her the ad and she said they were the flowers 'over there'. So I get out of line to grab the flowers and come back and see says that she was wrong, they must have sold out. These were 1.5 gallon as well but wrong ones. After helping some other people, she calls management and then tells me they don't give rain checks and aren't willing to sell me equivalent basket at same price (though an employee there said they would). I told her the ad runs for 4 more days, but then she said "well it's only while supplies last". No where on the ad does it say this. No offer to call other Lowe's. No attempt to check shipments coming in. Just a wasted trip and time that would have been better spent at a different store more accommodating. Like Home Depot. Won't return here. read more

I was hoping to buy a Lincoln welder as well as other supplies. A nice gentleman pointed me in the right direction, after that it was all downhill. Absolutely nobody was willing to help me at all... even after asking for assistance, not a soul... still waiting. So I spent lord knows how long in there for nothing. And it's always the same. I try to shop in Monroe to keep my tax dollars local but with the limited selection of plants I often have to still drive to Molbaks in Woodinville for more Pot selections and garden gear. read more

"Some Assembly Required" is an old Indian phrase that means 6 hours, 66 curse words, and call an electrician. Thankfully they have installation programs for many of their big items which is great for people that have a do it yourself disability like myself. The store is organized and clean, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. They may a bit pricier than the Homes Depot in Woodinville- but the cutomer service is better. read more

Once again it appears that lowes has decided that the saw for cutting 2x4s is not working when someone only has a couple of boards that need cutting. It only seems to work for large orders. For this reason I will now only do my large purchases at home depot. read more

I just had the most amazing experience with GREAT customer service at Lowe's in Monroe!!! When I was trying to figure out the instructions for the Cabinet Restoring products, she asked if she could help. And, she REALLY tried to help!!! (This is rare, usually it is just lip service and they walk away.) Her name is Brenda Honstain (I remember it, since I was looking for staining the wood on my cabinets). She was so attentive, resourceful and personable. What a great asset you have at your store! I don't remember seeing her there before, but you need to make sure you keep her!!! read more

Just to let everyone out there is that if you are thinking about working there it might not be a good choice. We worked there for 10 years. They are changing the way they are running the company not for the best. There is also a new store manager that came from Tennessee. He carries a fake personality about himself. One min he acts like he cares or is concerned the next he takes your value to the company and fires over some things that are not true. Also he thinks everyone lies no matter what you do for him. The management staff are jerks and really don't know there jobs. So if you can go else where to do house projects. read more

Don't have Lowes install your fence!!!! Bought a very expensive vinyl fence from Lowes and had them install it. Horrible install job! They didn't notify me of when they were coming I just came home to a huge pile of stuff in my driveway. Then a few days later they just showed up without any notice so I quickly had to put up an enclosure for the dogs. Both gates are already sagging, pieces not cut right so there are gaps at the top, They didn't even finish installing the custom gate hardware and the latch on the other gate fell off after two days. I went into the store to let them know and they said they would give my information to the manager & I have never heard back from them. Very disappointed. read more

We actually didn't buy anything, we were in the area and stopped to look at tile and a few other things, but will be going back soon. We normally go to nearby Issaquah, or the one in Bellevue, both of which have few customers and finding someone to ask questions is futile. When you check out, only 1-2 registers open. This Monroe store is huge by comparison, many more items to choose from, and 3 different employees asked if we needed help. Stuff was flying off the shelves, but when we left the checkouts seemed to be all open and moving fast, no lines. read more

I purchased a custom-made security screen door from Lowe's. I paid $300 for the door, $40 for measurements, $36 for the hardware and $110 for the installation. I had to wait over 4-6 weeks for it to be made, so when the guy came to install it, I was very excited. Shortly after getting there he said we have a problem. The door will only open about 2 feet, due to an arch in our front entry. It wouldn't work- I was so upset. He took the door and left. A few days later I recieved a letter in the mail and a FULL refund reciept from Lowes. They returned the door, the hardware, the installation and measurement fee. I'm impressed. Was treated very shabbily by an employee named Meredith. Her reply to my remark that if something is on clearance and no longer available, the sign should come down, was to tell me there are worse things to worry about in the world. When I pointed out that the response was rude, she became combative and continued until she had me so angry I cursed and asked for the manager. The response to this was to tell me to find him myself, and then to say again to find him myself and he would be glad to escort us out of the store! This was followed by her grabbing her name badge and shoving it forward to yell her name to give him when we found him. I told her that we had already noted her name in the beginning. All this was played out in front of my three year old and my mom. I don't know who got her tail in a knot that day, but this kind of rudeness and nasty comments is never okay. We did speak to the assistant manager, and were told he would address it as this was uncalled for, but we avoid there for the most part now. read more

Service was AWFUL. We waited over 30 minutes for someone to come help us in the blind cutting section. Once someone finally came, they told us no one there would be able to cut blinds for us and to go to the Indian Trail location. I'm sorry but this is extremely inconvenient to have to drive all the way to Indian Trail to get what should be available in the Monroe location. read more

I lost my wallet, which had my Lowes card in it. I tried to cancel the card and have a new card issued. Well, because I accidentally "closed" my account, which I thought was the only way to cancel my card, Lowes is now saying that I CAN'T get another card!!! Their customer service was terrible and did not help me at all. This is the customer service line and Lowes credit card help line also saying I couldn't open another account. And all they continued to tell me was to try to apply for another account, which I tried 3 times with the same answer, eventually, that I cannot open a new account because I closed my account "too recently". Ridiculous!!! I have great credit, and I was ready to buy $1200 worth of equipment and supplies from them. But why would I keep buying from them when they can't even help me open up an account. Apparently they don't like my $. So now I'll be going to Home Depot! read more

Over the years we have spent A LOT of $$$ at the Lowes in Monroe. We've had blinds installed and flooring. We have purchased all of our paint and paint supplies there. Plus a VERY expensive BQQ and outdoor furniture. I can say now that I will NEVER set foot in that store again. I was looking at some additional flooring for our house and wanted to ask a question. The sales individual was helping another couple (I have no problem waiting my turn) when he sees me and said "You want somethin'?" Not can I help you or I'll be with you in a few but he was quite rude and VERY nasty. Then when I was at check out for a few purchases the lady there was so busy talking to another employee she didn't say a word to me except to tell me how much I owed. No hello or thank-you.....nothing. VERY poor customer service. Next time I'll go an extra few miles to the Home Depot. read more

As Lowe's goes, this one is above par. I used to work for a great store manager at the Aurora H.D. so I'm a little biased, even though they fired me for a B.S. reason. Stupid corporate politics. Anyways, I would give Lowe's a better rating if they filled their out of stock merchandise in a timely manner. I've been waiting on 36" bifold track kits for a month now and every week that I come in, I see the same two boxes that have been opened but have everything except for the track. I've brought these same boxes up to the returns desk and asked them to check inventory so I can purchase 2 boxes that have everything in them. The say no and advise that they'll remove these boxes to the warehouse and order more yet I see the same 2 boxes every time I come back. The other reason I can;t raise their rating is the same issue with almost all chain hardware stores. No service. I've waited in a department for over 45 minutes with no help from the department associate. They were paged, paged again and paged some more. They weren't on break and there was no return call when called on their walkie talkies. One time they lost on $120 sale because I wasn't able to have one item that was up in the overhang so I just left. Overall it's a clean store and the associates are friendly so yay for that. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE!!! Especially if you're ordering appliances. Their "free next day delivery" is a joke...it applies only to in- stock items, which as it turns out, consists of only about 5 different products. And when your items do finally show up (expect to wait at least 2 weeks, bare minimum), they will more than likely be damaged. As was the case with our stainless steel refridgerator. The "minor ding", as described by the driver, turned out to be a giant dent on the front panel. So now we get to wait another two weeks for a replacement because the manager-on-duty, Ms. Toro, was unable (or unwilling) to expedite the process. Nor was she willing to offer any sort of apology. Apparently, it is Lowe's policy to "not take responisbility for any damages incurred during the shipping process". In other words, once they have your money, they couldn't care less about customer service. read more

OK, So I visit my local Lowes store quite a bit. They're close and have what I need, not great customer service but adequate since I rarely need help anyhow. What I have a problem with is this; to get the "Military Discount" at the register I have to always wait for a manager. Why? Shouldn't the cashiers be able to do this on their own? I asked, the head cashier (Shelly), she said their store is the only one that must ask for an override at the register to give a person who is active duty or a verteran with an Military ID card the 5% discount. Also, that it was due to their store having a large number of military discounts. DAH! The Naval Base is only 17 miles from here in Everett, lots of active duty and retirees live in Monroe. What's the deal LOWES, let your cashiers do their job and serve customers quickly. If there's a cashier giving discounts to customers not deserving of it they should be fired! On the spot! read more
