They value repair above replacement, even for older units. They repaired my no-name (Hotpoint) dishwasher from 1995, repairing an entire mechanism part and various seals. They came and repaired my garbage disposal, and because the repair was so simple (stuck piece of old plastic), they did not want to charge me the full price. This was such an honest gesture. Their service is so reasonably priced as it is. I know that if I have any more appliance issues or general handyman work that I need done, Medvedkov is on the top of my list of folks to call. Quick tip: A lot of "Appliance repair" businesses send out a diagnostic technician that basically fluffs you for the real tech to come out and fleece you. Smaller businesses, usually have just a qualified tech go out that is able to fix your issue on site right there and then! The downside is they are not going to always be on time due the time it takes to do the actual repair for the person before you. Call the smaller company if you can, schedule your call for first thing in the AM if you can, and always call at least 5 companies and go with your gut. If the tech comes out and feels as though he is full of it, chances are good you are right. In my experience Sound is well worth another try!

I am not unfamiliar with purchasing and repairing of appliances as I am the property manager for 10…read morehomes in North Tacoma. I dropped off a dishwasher and paid 60$ for a diagnostic. I was told this is the initial cost to look at the unit and anything additional will be for replacement/repair work. I was called and informed that my unit had been tested and nothing seemed to be a problem and that my unit was ready for pick up. Upon pick up, I was informed that I owed an additional "labor cost". Didn't make any sense to me as I paid for diagnostic, which is all they self-admittedly did, and wasn't sure how they rationalized charging "labor" for something that had no "out of scope"/additional work done to it. I expressed my displeasure with the on-site staff who had no coherent explanation as to why I was paying more than our agreed-upon diagnostic rate. He kept saying that they " spent a lot of time testing" and in my mind that is the sellers burden as they sold their ability to do diagnostic for a certain amount. To me it felt sketchy and felt like a half baked business practice. If they had done any amount of work to the unit, I would have no problem paying for labor. I frankly wouldn't had a problem if they said that diagnostic was $100 from the start. I would've liked to agree on a price for a certain project/assessment and have it cost that same amount when said work was complete. I also want to mention that the on-site staff have almost no knowledge of these machines and their functions. They were really just salesman with the service team in back of house. I personally like to speak with technicians about mechanical issues so I have a better understanding of tasks performed, and common issues. Aka real knowledge. Overall, I did not find my visit to be worthwhile or a good investment and frankly left feeling like I was bamboozled. I am not likely to return and would not recommend anyone else go here for repairs/diagnostic.
