Took in a Husqvarna backpack blower that wasn't running right. Just asked Garry to fix it, didn't ask for quote just made it clear I wanted it to work right. He fixed it, and charged a fair price for the parts and labor. He didn't call to tell me how much it would cost, he just did the work like I asked, then called to let me know it was ready. I appreciate that- he's a straight shooter who is trying to make a living just like everyone else. If you want good work done at a fair price, Evergreen is the place to take your powered lawn tools. I hesitate to admit how long it has taken me to verify the service at Evergreen Mowers. But I'll see if I can do this without making myself look like a lazy schlub. It's really cool to find places that can specialize in one thing and one thing only. I don't know why this fascinates me like it does but fascinate me it does. This is a converted old tract house with a big gravel parking lot now. The whole place is mower sales and repair. Something feels old-school and community-based about having a mower guy in town. It's like the days when going to market meant going to the butcher, the baker, the farmer's market, and so on, before supermarkets and other big-box retail homogenized everything and integrated the supply chains to the point that we can hardly get our hands on anything that's not owned by some shadow corporate giant. Now, for all I know, EM *is* in fact owned by some shadow corporate giant. It doesn't seem likely, but I suppose anything's possible. I didn't exactly hire a private eye. I just needed my blade sharpened and a tune-up. Now, while getting a simple lawnmower tune-up at this place might not represent a little rebellion in the name of consumer independence, I *do* like the little guy, and I like the specialist. And this place seems to qualify 100% on both counts. What used to probably be living and dining rooms inside have been knocked back to bare load-bearing walls, and filled in within an inch of their lives with mowers of all sorts, along with every conceivable mower accessory. It's really, really hard for me to imagine a pastime *less* inviting than mowing the lawn. But, that aside, walking through a showroom and being reminded that there are multiple mechanical platforms established in this area is strangely reassuring. The guys behind the counter see nuttin' but mowers all day, every day. They probably see them in their sleep. For the matter of that, they could probably fix them in their sleep. They've taken your name so many times they can barely still finish the sentences required to move you along in the process--the fewer syllables they have to repeat, the more time they'll have for other things in life. A week later, you get a staccato message letting you know your mower is ready. Now, if you're like me, your mower sits under the soffit at the top of the driveway for a while before you can even motivate yourself in to the mower place. You give it a good hard shake and the clippings fall out. There's a sure sign the thing could stand to be taken out and put through its paces a little more frequently. And maybe the same thing happens when you get it home. Sits for a while. But if you take it to Evergreen, it runs like a dream, and cuts like a knife. Very happy with the price, service, and expertise at this place. Now if I can just get somebody to mow my lawn for me next time, I'll be all set. Mower's ready. read more

I called Evergreen to have my chainsaw serviced and all I received were rude comments because I didn't purchase it through them. Didn't want to help out or help problem solve at all. I took my Lawn mower to Evergreen mowers. It had a starting problem. I was ready to spent what ever it takes to fix it. I told the gentle man my problem. He said "I can take it and take a look at it. But what I recommend is that you take it back and run it till it run out of gas (I could start it it I spray some starting fluid) and then put some fresh gas in it. It should work. Bring it back if it doesn't". I bought a bottle of fuel stabilizer and did exactly what he told me and it worked. He saved me a chunk of money. Now a days it's hard to find sincerity and honesty like that. I wish there are more people like him in this world. read more

Evergreen Mowers is my goto Husqvarna Dealership for all my needs, sales and service. Have been purchasing equipment for my landscaping business here for many years. The owner Appreciates and respects your time, fast turn around on repairs and service which in turn keeps me working in the field. Prices are reasonable, they include their own warranty service with each purchase. Let's be honest - you will need to use the warranty at some point with heavily used machinery and tools. Sure, you can save a few bucks at the time of purchase from a big box store or pay for piece of mind from a local dealership and know that it will be covered. Remember, you get what you pay for ! They always have decent inventory and can order any Husqvarna part or tool that is market available. I recommend using the Husqvarna website as a catalog then purchase at this dealership. If you aren't in a rush for your repair or annual service of your machine , I recommend utilizing their "off -season " discount on service. Have your items serviced in the Winter months for a discount and it also helps keep a small business owner in business during the off - season. read more

We took our husky chain saw in for a cleaning and chain sharpening. Went back to pick it up this morning The guy ran my credit card for $61.50 then and when went and got my chain saw set it on the counter and it was just as dirty as when I brought it in. I asked him what you did to the chain saw? He said we put a new spark plug in and wiped the track. I said you did even sharpen the blade he said if you don't like our service you don't have to come back. I said you are really going to charge me $61.50 for a $1.50 spark plug and clean the air filter? he said if you don't like the services don't come back. I absolutely would never buy anything from this place. I emailed asking about the Ybravo 25" mower. I'm in the market for two of them, two backpack blowers, a stick edger and various other commercial lawn care items. I asked if they offered any financing options and this is the response I recieved....."Hi Sorry I don't have any financing, or money to lend out and  hate paperwork. Do take MC, Visa, otherwise check with your bank for a line of credit, that's what they are in business for. Asked him if I could take in my honda mower. Very terse, snappy response back to me that he doesn't do much with Hondas anymore, go to a honda dealer. Let alone the fact that Honda is one of the most common brands of mowers in existence, I just would've expected a bit more courtesy. The guy is very no-nonsense and some might say he lacks people skills, but he is a wizard. Charges a fair pre-quoted price, takes only a couple of days, calls when he's done. Best of all, he can fix your mower even if it's dead and make it run better than ever. He's not into small talk and that's fine, I can appreciate a guy who's all business. I took my pressure washer in for service and was told it might take a week - great news to me, since the shop I usually go to usually takes 4 - 5 weeks. I got a call the next day that it was done! I took it home, started it up (first pull!) and went to work. I'd delighted with the service and supremely delighted with the quick turnaround, I'd recommend Evergreen to anyone in the north end of Seattle and points north. read more

Let's just say the guy who runs this place knows how to deal with knuckleheads like me. I brought in a 20 year old Honda Mower. He kindly evaluated it and told me the deck had a crack in it and it wasn't a good investment to repair it. Okay, I've got a Lawn Man mower at home too. I'll be right back. When I brought the second repair he just gave me a look with a twinkle in his eye. Strike two on any repair. He mentioned he had lawn mowers for sale, both new and used. I told him I already had a couple of used ones. He took time to explain the finer benefits of the units he had on his floor and after asking me some leading questions he got out of me, "It has to start the first couple of pulls". He took a Huskavarna mower into his yard off the sales floor and it started the first time. SOLD! And a $50.00 Mail in Rebate. I was a bit apprehensive about taking my mower here after reading some of the Yelp comments, and seeing the tone of responses by the business owner. It's true that he's particular about what services he will perform. But it's all clearly spelled out on his website. I was very happy with the quality of work he did on my mower. I brought it into him because it wouldn't start. After he worked on it, the mower now starts way easier than it ever has; I barely have to tug on the starter to get it going. He also gave me some tips on how to prevent that problem from happening again. Quite a few of his Yelp reviewers weren't happy with his people skills; I'd describe him as a lawnmower geek (the good kind) with quirky charm. read more

Please ignore the bad ratings, as there are considerations involved. 1. They sell the highest quality, dependable mowers and other related products. 2. They service the same product family. (Important consideration when you buy anything.) 3. If you want to buy a $79 mower from WalMart, best of luck getting it serviced or repaired. 4. The establishment location and web site clearly inform the consumer that they do NOT work on cheap cruddy items as it's impossible to get replacement parts. There is a reason your mower was $79. "C.P.S." (Cheap plastic . . . . stuff). 5. Maintenance costs are far lower in the winter as everybody is instantly lined up the first decent weekend in the spring so save some $ and get your lawn mower serviced before the crush. This is called "market economics" or "market forces" and fully explains the varying costs for maintenance or repair. 6. This establishment has a long list of happy customers who are not there to hear someone recite Hamlet, read their horoscope, interpret their palm life-line, do a song & dance atop the counter, or perform hand surgery. The establishment is there to sell and fix lawn mowers and related items. Got that? I am a happy customer who is hard to please; I have purchased several items at this establishment and I see nothing to make me change my mind. read more

I bought a lawn mower last week from this business. I loved the place and liked the owner. Its a small shop, but had what I needed. The great part of getting my new lawn mower was that it was already assembled (I really dislike assembling them so that was an added bonus) and the owner put the oil and gas in it so all I had to do was get it home and mow the lawn. I just wish he could of mowed the lawn also. I went in not knowing the price of lawn mowers at all. He showed me what he had for my budget and let me take my time to decide. He answered all my questions and wasn't pushy. He wasn't the "typical" salesmen pressuring me into buying the most expensive one, which I really appreciated. The best thing about this business is that they do repairs for anything you buy there and plus other things. I've had problems in the past trying to get my lawn mower repaired so this was one of the main reasons I went to evergreen mowers. The salesman/owner was direct and helpful. I really liked him and the place. I now know where I will go to get my chainsaws sharpened and any repairs I may have. read more

This guy was an asshole. Walked inside and waited for about 5 minutes to even see someone who worked there. Then he said he was too busy to look at my lawn mower so he couldn't give me a price range. I'm sorry but if someone has been doing this job for a long time they should have an estimate in mind. He told us he "has better things to do". So I left, I would never recommend this place. I guess i should not be surprised as to the amount of negative reviews for Evergreen Mowers... but I am. It's sad, really. I've been going to Garry @ Evergreen Mowers for about 6 or 7 years now. I rarely have the foresight to come in during the winter months when the work queue is less full, and Garry tells me up front that he'll get to it when he can. When he does get to it (very rarely more than a week or so) he fixes the well used Honda mower right up, and it still starts with one pull. Garry is very knowledgeable on all things mower / lawn equipment related, and will offer insights to you on ways to improve performance of your small engine devices. If he seems terse or short with you, please bear in mind that he is human, and is running a very popular and much in demand business. If you wish to have a long discourse with him comparing all the various lawn care machines he services and sells, I'd recommend doing so during the cold wet months, when the line for his services has lessened a bit. read more
