On Friday morning, 9/25, my key fob battery died. I used the trick of holding the fob to the start button to get my car going and drove from my Eastland Court Senior Apartment to the Lowe's at the other end of my street. I have mobility challenges, but with my cane and a cart, I made my way inside. The man at the Returns desk took pity on this 74‑year‑old lost woman and offered help. He tried to open the key fob so I could replace the battery, and a woman from Customer Service joined in. All of us failed. The Returns gentleman thought someone in the Garden department might be able to help. In Gardens, another employee joined in -- and he also couldn't get it open. They began suggesting other places I could try, but when I explained I wasn't sure the fob had enough juice left to start the car again, one of the young men even offered to drive me to AutoZone. It became a test of wills. The Returns man went back to his station. The first Gardens employee thought someone in another section might be able to do it, so he told me to rest and he'd return. While waiting, two other employees stopped to check on me. Eventually he returned with -- I believe -- Mike, who had managed to get the fob open. Mike and I went to get the battery near the paint department, where yet another employee assisted. Mike put the new battery in, walked me back to the Returns cashier, and explained the opened package missing one of the two batteries so she could ring me out properly. My cane and I made it back to the car and drove home safely. In about half an hour, I interacted with eight Lowe's employees -- all kind, patient, and genuinely helpful -- while still tending to their other duties. I wish I had seen more name badges or had a better memory so I could thank each of them individually. I am deeply grateful to the store management for creating a work culture where employees are empowered to truly help people. Their kindness made a difficult moment so much easier. read more

I love shopping at Lowe's they have the best flower selection. I stopped by for the free plant for moms. Very organized with simply scab your My Lowe's account bar code and pick out a plant. I wish they had a kids workshop that went with it to possibly decorate a container to put in but I see they have one next week that we will attend. Their prices are reasonable and had a great deal on Blackstone grills yesterday. Service staff are always friendly and nice but not always sure on answers to questions but they are willing to help you find out the answers. read more

Went to lowes in Independence to pickup paint for our house project. Had issues with our credit card at self checkout. Went to customer service, Forrest was there, she is absolutely amazing at customer service. My 6 year old was getting ancy and she helped keep her entertained while we had to call the credit card company. She was very patient during the whole process. This is for the Lowe's on Valley View Parkway in Independence MO. Beth and Derrick at the service desk are amazing! We had a mower that had been recalled & the store on Sterling in K.C. Mo is where we purchased the mower. I contacted Kobalt and received a Return Authorization and was advised to take it back to Lowe's with this Auth #. We took it back to the K.C. Lowe's (along with the Auth#K) because the battery got stuck in the mower, they advised us that we had to contact Kobalt to get our refund. Lowe's said they couldn't reach Kobalt re: our Auth #. Took mower back home. Called Kobalt back-they suggested we try another Lowe's, stating Lowe's should refund our money so we went to the one on Valley View Pkwy. Beth and Derrick were so gracious and were able to figure out how to refund our money, since all Kobalt battery mowers have been recalled. It took them awhile to figure out how to get this done but they did. They were absolutely awesome. Best customer service we have had in years!! So, if you live in the K.C. or Independence area, you'll be much happier if you shop the store on Valley View Pkwy!! read more

First off, a 12 hour delivery window is unacceptable the first place. Second, why put an open box (I paid for new) product that is literally in pieces on the truck to get delivered? Then to have your hillbilly hick delivery guy tell me you're not going to be back to deliver a product that is not broken for another week? I'm sorry. Your incompetence is not my fault. Use your brain and find a solution to get it taken care of. They finally found one and said you deliver it the next day. Still unacceptable but better than the week they were telling me before. Now it's the next day and I get a call saying they can't deliver it today it will be here tomorrow. Seriously? Do better. Lowe's customer service sucks. It's as if once they get the money they no longer care about the customer. Newsflash - if you have problems with third-party delivery people, stop hiring them and start doing your own deliveries again. This is ridiculous. It took four hours playing phone tag with the management team and going through three different managers to find someone who was even capable of logical critical thinking and problem-solving to even attempt to fix this. Edit: Thanks Lowe's, you successfully ruined my entire weekend with two days of canceled plans and still no refrigerator. After 4 delivery attempts, I finally received a working refrigerator with cosmetic damage. I was compensated for the cosmetic damage but, even with a magnet to cover it up, I will still know it is there for the next 20 years. I was honestly just sick of dealing with it and needed a refrigerator. The compensation was enough for me to be ok with it instead of going somewhere else. Apparently, it is too much to ask to order a brand-new appliance and have it delivered working and undamaged in a post-Covid world. Never again Lowes. I will share my experience with everyone I meet. I am a veteran and so appreciate the respect I receive. I am consistently thanked for my service, receive a 10% discount, and special parking. I WILL NEVER SHOP AT LOWE'S INDEPENDENCE EVER AGAIN!! We went to Lowe's and picked out a new storm door in April. It has now been almost a month. We have been unable to get a quote or installation date, the "In Home Consultant" doesn't return phone calls or emails, the reps at the main number have no idea what's going on, and the people at the store won't answer the phones (called multiple times and let it ring for 5 minutes without an answer). Even after making multiple trips to the store to talk to a manager because no one answers the phone, still can't get anyone to give me final quote and get things moving. Finally got a sketchy looking text from the "In Home Consultant" wanting immediate payment via phone to some phone number that is NOT a Lowe's corporate number, but seemed like someone's personal number. Called and emailed saying to cancel the contract, and send me written notification verifying the cancellation. Nope...never again stepping foot in that Lowe's location. read more

I bought an over the range microwave from Lowes. I changed my mind and took it back. I was informed that the return policy was 48 hours. This was a brand new unopened appliance that I had for under 30 days. If they would have told me the return policy was 48 hours I would have never bought it. I informed the manager I would not come back to lowes. It seems sad to drive away a customer who owns a property management business and has been a loyal customer for years but oh well if it isn't important to them my company spending another nickel there will not happen again. On 12/13/2022, I purchased a GE Dishwater from Lowe's of Independence, MO Store #1098 in the amount of $834.97. Our dishwasher was installed on 12/28/2022. During the installation, the left side of the roller In which the top rack uses to roll back and forth when loading dishes, was broke during the install. NOW THE UNIT LEAKS WHEN WASHING THE DISHES on the left sides. CRST Home Solutions which was the company conducting the install, scratched my new vinyl plank flooring and has yet to come up with a solution on how to fix. After many calls and missed appointments from the contracting company (CRST Home Solutions, I went to the store on 1/20/2023 to see if I could get it replaced or the issue resolved some how. The assistant store manager at store #1098 Casi Jowers, stated that someone would contact me to get the issue resolved and the product fixed. Lowes told us that we're not able return the item since it's out of its 48 hour window. Since then, no calls, no nothing. We've paid too much money to have a broke and leaking dishwasher and it seems as if Lowes doesn't care. Can someone forward me to a legal department? Also, the contracting company told me that the scratch can barely be seen and I should deal with it. read more

we purchased carpet through Lowe's and had installed. we had a noticeable seam and Lowe's sent installer out and they pulled carpet and tried to flip and then it was worse and they re installed. it looks horrible. I'm so disappointed in Lowes and the installer. they had independent carpet contractor out who indicated it was a lighting issue.we spent a significant amount on this carpet. I would not recommend the delivery as our experience was horrible. They used a third-party delivery that one couldn't speak English. Almost broke the washer hot and cold water valves because they were turning it the wrong way. My husband had to turn the water off AND remove the hoses. They refused to use the new dryer vent and told me to shake the old one out and vacuum as much lint out of it which my husband had to hookup because they didn't. Put deep ruts in our yard, why not use the driveway??? It's circular! Not a good experience but a nightmare! read more

Make sure you call within 48 hours if something is wrong, or their first question is did you get a warranty? When you say no but I paid for installation and to have them level my fridge, it doesn't matter. Called 8 times 5 min to 35 min wait time...no answer. Finally call on cell phone on hold 30 minutes. Called on home phone as well. After 40 minutes on cell phone hold, they answer the home phone after 10 minutes on hold. They would be happy to send the installation people back out to figure out the terrible noise the fridge makes for a fee. All I wanted is someone to talk me through leveling procedure or what my next steps were. Just wanted 3-5 minutes of a professional's time. This is the most poorly run Lowe's I've ever been to. I did an order pick up. Before I was able to pick it up, I received an email that my order had been picked up. I called up to the store to figure out where my order went, no one could answer my question for 10 minutes. Finally, someone thought to go check for it. They confirmed it was still in the store. I have currently been waiting for almost an hour to pick it up. They have sent a few people to look for it, none of them ever return. No one can seem to find it. Bought a refrigerator from them online. The order confirmation indicated that we would get an email, then a phone call, prior to delivery. We received neither. The refrigerator arrived unexpectedly today (good thing someone was home), was not in a box, with no manual or other paperwork in it. When my husband was installing it, he discovered food residue and mold inside. The coils were dusty--something that didn't happen overnight. You can see swipe marks on the shelf where somebody hastily tried to clean them off with a wet cloth. And the case had a big crack in it, like someone had dropped something heavy on it. THEY SOLD US A USED REFRIGERATOR. Oh, and tonight, my husband got a message alerting him that they'd be emailing him about the delivery date. Last time we do business with you, Lowe's. read more

We found it very hard to get any help in appliances. After several attempts and no help I went to the customer service area were a representative was sitting in the corner on a corner and couldn't be bothered. I then asked for a manager and explained my problem. I may mention they called over the intercom three times for help in appliances and as I watched three employees standing in the main isle never even attempting to move towards appliances. The manager I did speak to was nice and did apologized but we ended up leaving, I called customer service the next day and spoke with Noel she was very helpful and wanted to help. She passed the info on to the store and I received a call within 30 minutes Dustin who was nice, very helpful and apologetic. So I wanted to give Lowe's a second chance. We went back the next event I waited in the customer service line for sometime after I was skipped in line twice. I finally was asked if they could help me as the young lady finished her paper work almost giving me the time of day. I asked for Dustin she told me he was at dinner and I could wait 35 minuets or come back. Never once tried to help me or find out what I needed. My take away is this they blew it, zero customer service in house from the customer service desk, more training needed on how to take care of the customer, more eye contact, more smiles, less time hiding in the corner on your cell phone. I went to another place to buy my new $1200 refrigerator loss to Lowe's and if this happens often to others button line Lowe's is losing customers and money. read more

Its an OK store if you know what you want. Don't ever use any of their specialty design services. They don't understand basic construction details and order the wrong kits. Then when you try to return it, they say you can't because it was a specialty order. So I threw out a $1800 special design. Right in the trash. The only time I go here is to "accidently" break things, so I can get my money back. Incompetent is an understatement. I guess I shouldn't feel too gypped. I ordered and paid for a fridge. First off I was told that the appliance would be delivered to the job without needing my presence, we agreed on a delivery day and that was that. Well the first one was delivered and the guys just took off, we found a dent on the front of the fridge and later the neighbor informed us that the drivers dropped the fridge off of the back of the truck she said she has it on her ring doorbell. Then we set up a second delivery I drive to meet them on my day off and this one has a dent on the front as well. We set up a day for the third fridge and it is delivered with a dent on the front as well. We then set up the fourth delivery date, they ignore that day and tell me a different one I call to change it back and they do. But they didn't so I get a call at 7:45 A.M. saying they are on their way. So I cut off breakfast with my son and load him into the car to go meet the guys that came on the wrong day at the wrong time but at least we have a fridge. I was told that I would have some money refunded as I have driven to the job FOUR times to meet with drivers to deliver damaged goods. I went in store and was told I would be contacted and still have not. I call the store and get put on hold or transferred to listen to the phone ring for minutes on end till it stops and I get disconnected. Every time I call it rings for 4 or 5 minutes before someone answers and transfers me to no one. Your customer service is a joke and the way I have been treated in this incident is enough to guarantee that myself and everyone else that I can convince will never enter your store again. 0 STARS read more

My husband and I purchased our first home earlier this year. Not long after, we purchased a new refrigerator from Lowes in Independence MO. The nice kid that set up our purchase and delivery asked if we wanted install. I said yes because I didn't know how and I wasn't sure if my husband would either (this was a fridge with an ice and water filter). A couple of weeks later, a third party company delivered the fridge and installed it. They even tested it to make sure it was working properly. They also moved our old fridge into our garage and hooked that up. About two weeks later, I started noticing water seeping through our laminate hardwood in the kitchen by the fridge. It had been raining a lot at that point so I thought maybe it was being tracked through the back door since I couldn't locate where it was coming from. Then a couple of days after that, my husband noticed leaking in our basement from the ceiling right above where the fridge was. We pulled out the fridge and sure enough there was water everywhere. So now our laminate hardwood is bubbled up the dry wall is deteriorating behind the fridge. We contacted Frigidaire who came out and said the water hose was not installed properly. He tightened it like it should have been and left. We contacted Lowes and for almost two months now it has been a complete nightmare. We have been on the phone with so many people from the regional manager, to Independence store manager to corporate and apart from the insanely long wait times just to get someone on the phone, we are being told that their system says delivery only. I didn't realize I was supposed to video tape an appliance drop off or have some type of proof they were in my home for close to an hour. Lowes Claims (specifically Paula) has mentioned to me not once but several times that their system says drop off only and more or less, I am lying about the install. The lack of professionalism and care with this situation has been awful and Lowes refuses to take responsibility for hiring a company that ruined my floors in my home that I worked very hard to purchase. Shame on you Lowes. Shame on you for first of all, making it very clear no one in your company cares about our situation and second for making us jump through hoop after hoop for something that wasn't even our fault! Beware of buying appliances from Lowes and NEVER I repeat NEVER let them install anything in your home (3rd party or otherwise) because if something goes wrong, they will do everything in their power to ensure they are not held responsible even if it is their fault. I went in to buy some stain for a deck , because last summer they sold me a deck over product that after preparation pealed off . So they mix up my stain , then I'm told I have to wait six months for my new deck to cure ( had to replace Bc of product I purchased at this location ). I purchased a refrigerator online, this is supposed to be scheduled for delivery today. I was given an 8am-8pm delivery time. Day before I called corporate who said that I would get a phone call today and give me a two hour window of delivery. Well, it's 7pm and still no phone call. I have called the store twice. I was told they don't call the drivers without the delivery manager there. I explained that my food is in coolers, my current refrigerator does not stay cool, hence the reason I bought a new one, and I don't want to risk losing my food. I asked if I am just f*cked if it does not arrive. At that point the manager said she would make some phone calls to see what she could do. This is ridiculous! One, if their hands should not be tied to where she cannot communicate with delivery drivers unless the delivery manager is there. Or it could be she did not want to deal with it. DO NOT USE their DELIVERY SERVICE. We purchased a washer, dryer and oven range from Lowes. They came on Sunday but had the wrong washing machine and NO dryer. They did have the range and somewhat set it up. We had to go back and put it all the way in properly. My husband called the store and the manager said there was a washer and dryer at the store with our name on it. Really? The delivery guys said there wasn't. Either way, they messed up. They scheduled another delivery THREE days later. We got the call Tuesday night they'd be here between 930-1:30. At one point we saw a Lowes truck just drive by. They didn't stop. We assumed they had a different delivery to go to. About 145 my husband called the manager to inquire on our order. Lowes proceeded to tell us the delivery guys came by at 8:30 (one hour BEFORE our window time) and no one answered. I was up so they didn't ring the doorbell. They said they also tried to call but no one answered but the manager also said they didn't have our number on file. Seems a little contradictory. They also said they tried to deliver again but on one was home. That is a flat out lie. We were home all day. Like stated earlier, we saw them just drive by. In the battle for home improvement, everyone must pick a side. I have fallen for Lowe's. There is nothing wrong with Home Depot, but I just prefer Lowe's. The reality is that Lowe's and Home Depot are similar in prices and quality. One difference that I have seen is the way that they keep their stores and how helpful they are. Lowe's always has plenty of employees that are more than willing to help. They have a great return policy, which is especially helpful for tough projects. Terrible customer service. Looked at 3 separate stores for the smoker/grill I wanted. No luck so I ordered and PAID online. A couple weeks passed and they gave me a delivery day with a 12 hour window. As the day got closer they asked me to confirm I was ready and after I did so they gave me a new 4 hour window. After 9 hours that day it was clear I wasted my whole day. I called the delivery company and they blamed the store. I called the store, no easy feat as they kept hanging up on my and restarting their robo menu, and called corporate which had me on hold for almost an hour and visited the store. Corporate said it wasn't their fault but the fault of the delivery company. They took my money and promised to deliver the product. They are in charge of their employees and contractors not me.
