NEVER use Lowe's for installing a fence!!! Corporate is the worse! Peter Gayeski in sales, Brian Dabrieo the store manager and Callie King from corp who finds the most local cheapest fence company to install. What a unprofessional joke! There is no service, return phone calls and emails do not exist. My husband and I spent over $6000- on a black fence around our yard with our pool. The job started at the end of July PAID IN FULL last summer and still was not corrected even six months later and still not to date. Shame on us! Never pay in full. Peter assured that Lowe's stands by their name and service, where was that??? The A and A fence company from wakefield botched it from the get go. All finger pointing back and forth. I got great customer service from Larry in the dept. I started at the HD paint dept asking for reccomendations for trim paint, the woman behind the desk was useless and didn't help one bit. I went to Lowes and Larry made a reccomendation that made sense and was reasonably priced. My wife and I were looking at floor paint also. Larry noticed us looking and asked if could help and he did. Stay Away! Go some place else! Had a terrible experience at this Lowes hardware I can't even get over how terrible of an experience I just had. I would never go back to this store ever! To begin, I was never offered any help or assistance in finding the products that I needed for my project. Upon leaving the isle I was shocked to find 3 employees simply standing around talking amongst themselves! I was with another person and we were talking to one another trying to find specific colors, so I know that they heard us in the isle. Next, we go up to the front to check out and we witness a customer standing around the paint area waiting to be waited on. After he pressed the assistance button he still had to wait another 5 minutes for someone to show up to help him. Did I forget to mention that another 4-5 employees were standing in an isle that he was unable to see the end of talking AGAIN. Finally, we find ourselves at the check out; there's only one open. We selected to do the self checkout since there was a line of 4 people at the only open registrar. When we get there we try to handle the machine when an employee comes over and tells us, "That's what you get for picking self check out". As though it is our fault that the store only has one registrar open and a line of people attempting to check out. After watching us try to put in a quantity amount since we had several of the same item (tiles). I could not believe that this employee was being so rude to me! Why she couldn't open a registrar or help was beyond me. Meanwhile another employee continued to make faces at us and roll her eyes when we asked why we were unable to put in a quantity. We left being told by this employee to "Have a nice night" in the most sarcastic and disrespectful tone I have ever received. Don't go here if you need someone to help you because, frankly, the employees here are lazy, rude and do not care about the customers! Stay Away! Especially on Sunday evenings! read more

Absolutely horrible customer service, they just couldn't care less. Had to do a simple return at the Danvers Lowe's. They had 2 windows open, Waited in one line, one window was taking most of the returns while the other window, 2 girls were standing there. I assumed they were finalizing some sort of previous return. They had no customer at their desk and didn't seem to be doing anything but standing there, I kept waiting for one of them to call me over, after I waited for about 10 minutes they finally called me over. Once I got to desk I realized They were doing nothing but talking to each other the whole time, wasn't work related, zero concern for holding up the line as there were others behind me. Mine was a simple exchange, I had paid cash and was getting cash back. I was told They didn't have enough money?? , so they had to get a loan. I waited an additional 20-25 minutes. They never said a word to me or showed any kind of urgency. The 2 of them just stood there doing absolutely nothing, neither of them went to get the loan or look for someone to help. They just stood there. No supervision or anyone checking in came over. After About 15 minutes of waiting I asked the girl what the problem was? it was a simple exchange it shouldn't take this long. All she said was she was waiting for a manager to get money. Come to find out the manager she was waiting for was standing about 30 feet from me talking to someone for about 15 minutes while I waited there. The fact that he was there the almost the entire time and neither Of them just walked over and said we have a customer waiting and a line behind him could you please help us, is just beyond my comprehension. Once the manager came over he went right into a back office. I waited for him to come out so I could address this with him but he never came out or even acknowledged anything. I was fully planning on taking the $300 cash I got on my return and going back into the store to spend it. Instead I went right to Home Depot and spent it there. Ironically as I entered Home Depot I was greeted with a " hello sir, can I help you".....How refreshing. Both places sell pretty much the same stuff. It's all about customer service. Most people don't need to have their ass kissed, just have a clue as to what it is your in business for. Lowe's has lost a customer for life for one simple little exchange and how poorly it was handled. I certainly hope this finds its way to someone at Lowe's who will do something about the customer service levels at that store because from reading all the reviews, it is a common problem. read more

Just had a dishwasher delivered. Guys were supposed to take away the old one and put the new one in the kitchen. Ground floor no steps. They didn't call 30 minutes in advance, they called and said that they'd be there in 5 minutes and while we scrambled to accommodate that timing they took another 45 minutes to arrive. I watched them bounce the dishwasher out of the truck and then load it onto a dolly. Old dishwasher was unhooked, they refused to pull it out of its space to remove it. Told me that I was welcome to take a run at it but that moving the dishwasher out of its position wasnt their job. They left the new dishwasher on the drive and drove off. No paperwork to indicate whether the box was damaged when I asked if I needed to sign for proof of delivery they walked off down the road and yelled that someone would call. I phoned Lowes spoke to Amanda in deliveries and wasted 7 minutes of my life talking to someone that could not have demosntrated more effectively that they could not have cared less. So now I have a broken old dishwasher in my kitchen and a bounced new dishwasher blocking my drive. Thanks Lowes. Thanks a bunch. read more

Lowe's needs to figure out their online ordering system. It's significantly behind their competition. We ordered two items for store pickup. When one of the items was ready for pickup we received an email notification. You have a limited time to pick up the item at the store once you are notified. Because of this we had to make 2 separate trips to pickup our order (2 items). Why can't the email be generated when your entire order is ready and not just part of it (like Home Depot does)? The customer service person was also very rude and did not want to help anyone which adds to the distaste of this store. The line's to speak to an associate were very long, which is unsettling during this pandemic. The grill we bought here came with free assembly, which is great, but they assembled the legs/base backwards so I had to take it apart after I got it home and re-assemble it. The product itself is great, but the customer service experience at this store leaves a lot to be desired. Open up some mom and pop hardware stores again please. read more

I went to the garden department to get at 2000lbs worth of sand bags and had to do a few trip . These awesome guys were genuinely open to offer their help on a hot day. Had an exterior door and storm door purchased and installed from the danvers team, had excellent service from the sales and ordering staff Ed and Rich who answered all my questions and concerns. If you are looking for good customer service with knowledgeable associates you will NOT find it here. Ordered and was delivered a refrigerator (with a 5 years service plan.) I was promised set up. They basically plugged in refrigerator and left. That is not what set up means to me. After numerous attempts to actually speak to a human, I spoke to Chris. He promised me that he would take care of it and call me back in 20 minutes to confirm. Three hours later, I attempted to call. Again I could not get through to a human. I decided to go to the store in person. I spoke to Chris, he said it was taken care of but was too busy to call me back. I wanted a manager at this point. I spoke with a manager named Bryan, he told me that delivery people do not set up the shelving system. All he could do is have the refrigerator picked up and credit my card. I said fine. I thought I might try and save the sale, as I needed the refrigerator. BIG MISTAKE!! I was unlucky enough to speak another manager. This time it was Mark Lavery. This guy is really a piece of work. I told him my past issues, and I wanted compensation for basically their lying to me and two associates Diane and Chris telling me they would set up refrigerator and didn't and won't. He basically said NO! And then he told me that next time I come into "his" store to watch my behavior, as he had complaints from other associates. I told him that I was upset and angry, but no profanity was used by me and I patiently waited for both Chris in the appliance dept. and Bryan at customer service. Apparently if a person is upset or angry, that is bad behavior. NO WAY is that anything but poor customer service by Mr. Lavery. If that is anyway of treating a customer with respect and gratitude, he has a lot to learn, and definitely should NOT be a manager with that attitude! UPDATE AS of 10/12/18..Finally after calling the Lowe's corporate office for the second time, I spoke to a supervisor named Nathaniel, he said he would contact the store manager and I would get a call from him.. I did receive that phone call shortly after from Nathan Worth. I explained the entire situation to him. He offered me compensation for the poor customer service experience. I accepted his offer and kept the refrigerator. Just suggestion for Lowe's in general: Treat your customers with respect, understanding, and gratitude, or you will out of business! read more

We are very upset and disappointed with the service we are receiving from the Danvers MA store and the installation services department. On October 3, 2013 we signed a contract with Lowe's to have our roof, siding and gutter installed. At that time we also signed up for your Lowes Credit Card. Our salesperson, Peter Gayeski, suggested a specific contractor, and let us know that this contractor needed to finish a few other jobs, but that he was the most qualified to do the work. Our work was to start by Novemeber 15, 2013 and be finished by December 15, 2013. Understanding that this specific, highly qualified contractor was finishing other jobs, we waited patiently....and waited.... Lowes Charged our credit card the full amount of the job. Still we waited for the highly qualified contractor. Our contractor ordered the supplies from Lowes, but when the driver got here he said he could only leave the supplies at the top of the driveway, near the sidewalk and a very busy street. We agreed. Finally the roof was started in January. We thought they were finished but the contactor did not extend the ridge vent correctly and another section needs to be redone, see photo. The contractor finished the siding and began the metal trim work. It was awful. He tried to repair the work and made matters worse. Jim from the Danvers store came out to inspect the work and agreed that they were not qualified to do this work and he was contacting a specialist. Now that the siding was finished and we were just waiting on the specialist to finish the trim, we asked to have the electrical reinstalled as it had been taken off the side of the house to accommodate the siding work. NO ELECTRICAL PERMIT WAS EVER PULLED FROM THE CITY!!! WE ARE NOW WAITING ON THE 3RD SPECIALIST TO FINIS THE SIDING AND REDO THE ROOF!!! It is obvious that Lowes has no intention of making our job a priority. Lowes is great at charging the full amount immediately.... and also very good at making excuses. Lowes does not have the qualified personal to do this installation job, and does not have enough people to finish jobs. The Danvers store personnel are qualified only to make excuses; they do not have the training to take care of these issues as they occur. At this point we have no intention of doing business with Lowes to purchase as much as a screwdriver. I will also copy this account to Better Business Bureau. read more

We bought 14 boxes of marble floor tiles to redo our master bathroom floor. Many of the boxes contained broken marble tiles. My contractor said that there were about 2-3 boxes where were about $50 of marble tiles that were cracked, or broken. I called and spoke to a nice guy in the flooring dept. who said "the customer is always right" and just bring by the empty boxes of tiles and we will give you a store credit. I brought back the broken tiles in a contractor bag, along with the 3 empty boxes. The asst. store manager refused to give me credit because the broken tiles weren't in their respective boxes. He told me he had been the manager there for 8 years. He was rude and condescending, and looked at me like I was lying. He obviously needs to take a customer service course and understand that the "customer is always right." They sold me crappy broken marble tiles and they didn't stand behind their product. Home Depot is so much better in customer service, They never treated me like this and I bought most of the building materials to build my second home in Maine from Home Depot. They are light years better than Lowe's. Especially if this asst. store manager is representative of their organization. read more

Just left Lowe's...I purchased driveway markers that were in a bin masked $1.99, upside down price label at bottom of container holding them...when I checked out they rang up @ $3.98...I pointed out the discrepancy and wad told that they were not miss labeled...I had other ones that were also mislabeled and did receive a credit for them, took 2 managers though...I took a picture of the tube they were in and pointed out the labels on the display holding all of the containers showing $1.98 for a price...very disjointed in Lowe's for not standing up for their mistake and making me wrong! A new Lowe in kitchen renovation. Trying to purchase kitchen cabinet hardware today. More than half the bins where totally empty, so tried to find employee who could help me order. Approached two who stated it was not their department and steered me over to kitchens. A thin light brown haired woman forty something was leaning back with her feet up yakking away on the phone, kept looking up at me and then pointedly turning her back on me as she continued gabbing away. Another employee kindly came up to me and stated that even though it appeared she was on a personal phone call she really was not. This really PO ed her who still had not acknowledged me. So this other guy finally came thru and helped me buy the hardware. I don't think it would have killed her to acknowledge me and say "be with you in just a minute". I will be heading to Home Depot for the rest of my order. read more

Went into Lowes to find a reasonably priced washer and dryer, but no one was around in that department to help. Waited 15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge me. Asked for a manager whose name was Marc, so I could talk about negotiating a reasonable price on some open box clearance washer and matching dryer. He finally came over after giving a message to another employee to give to me and seemed bothered to talk with us personally, barely giving us the time of day. This set discounted as is was worth over $1800 not a bad price but there was a lot more damage than expected! If Marc would have even given me the time of day or better yet ANY discount off the marked down price for the additional damage I would have bought them right then and there, but his ARROGANT demeanor and eye rolling gestures made it difficult to even talk to him, because he made it very clear we were an annoyance to him......he refused to help!!! After my frustration with him I went to customer service and asked the very nice young lady who I could talk to in management about Marc's rude behavior and maybe still make a deal on these open clearance items, but Marc answered her phone call. She explained who we were and what we were doing (trying to negotiate price on a washer and dryer) he made the connection as to who we were and said maybe one sentence and hung up on her. She had nothing to say to us except that he was apparently through with us! What?! That is unacceptable and I will never even so much as shop there for a plant or a 2x4 again!!! I have done over 300k in business there in the past 2 years!!! Home Depot here I come. If you go to lowes on 114 don't waste your time because even their management team refuses to practice customer service! End result: I bought a $1200 washer (listed at Bestbuy for $1200) for $624.00, because they know how to keep a customer happy and keep them coming back!! read more

Granted I usually go into their Reading location and it's much better but the few times I've gone into their Danvers store the following is what I've encountered. Came into the store looking for cabinet door handles, had question about special order ones, employee walking by referred me to an elderly lady at the kitchen department named Diane. Went over she was with a customer, I understand, but there was no one else around. All I wanted to know is if they had any brochures so I could go home and compare. Stood there for 5 min. as if I was invisible but had to endure small chit chat about their personal lives, yay like I care. Finally got fed up and asked, she didn't even turn to me just belched no. I said thank you and walked away. I worked retail and understand if you're with a customer focus on them but it doesn't take much to acknowledge a customer and say I'll be with you in 5, 10, 20 etc. min especially if you're the only one in the department. 2 stars because the store is relatively clean and has a decent selection. read more

After having several issues with a recently purchased high-efficiency LG washer, we went back to the Danvers store to get the issue resolved. Andrea, the appliance manager, and her supervisor were courteous, professional, and genuinely concerned about our issue. Andrea ordered a new unit for us and had it promptly delivered. It is employees like Andrea that foster customer loyalty and make Danvers our preferred store. read more

Do not expect Lowe's to give you honest answers to any delivery issues. I had the worst experience ever with a delayed delivery, and each person gave me a different story. I tried several times to reach delivery and was cut off, held on hold with no one responding, or getting to the wrong person. One staff member assured me repeatedly and vehemently that the delivery would come the day after it was supposed to, but it did not, and no one informed me that it wouldn't... Very unprofessional. I have decided to give my business elsewhere. I'd rather pay a few extra dollars to my local building supply company than ever deal with Lowe's again. I plan to cancel my Lowe's credit card and look elsewhere for business. read more

About 6/20/18 I purchased a hot water heater. Mine was totally broken and I had no hot water to shower, do dishes, laundry etc... I had to wait until July 10th for delivery. They tried to drop of a stove even though the only other item on the truck was my heater. I was unable to procure local services so returned to Lowes 7/24/18 for installation. Bought it and paid on the spot. Was told 8/7/18 would be the installation date. On 8/6 received call @ 5:30 pm to be informed that my STOVE would be installed! Supposedly, at least by their records my heater had already been installed and that item in my living room was merely my imagination.(although their wording was nicer) Then informed that I would have to be the one to correct everything. Trying to correct it was a wasted 30 minutes on the phone. I am still waiting a call except of course I will call them, speak to someone who has to have everything explained again, who'll have to look up records again and in the end they will still have my money and the hot water heater will still be unboxed in my living room. Pleasant people on the phone but they are almost powerless to initiate any remedies. Terrible, terrible, terrible, service . Absolutely Zero stars for this uncaring megastore. read more

Needing a new washer after only 5 years (Maytag front loader), hubs and I went to Lowes , Danvers. Ma to take advantage of a great sale (Samsung steam front loader). We had never made any significant purchase there..we prefer to buy local at small family type stores (i.e. Douglas Appliance in Danvers) and avoid box stores whenever possible. Having said that..Home Depot, Rt. 1 in Danvers WAS our go to place for lumber,tools etc ...until today!!! The difference between the 2-located only 1 mile from the other is indisputable. The complimentary electric scooters were charged and in great working order for hubby , manager Mark assisted at the door and gave directions to appliances.He was pleasant,smiling and kind..a true credit to the store..as were all the others that helped us. Leity(sorry about spelling) knowledgably discussed the washer and swiftly and with no drama wrapped up the sale. The ambiance,bright lighting and overall great spirits of all encouraged us to linger long enough to spend lots more money. It was fun(!) and I never find shopping fun! Home Depot by comparison always seems so dark and repressed , informed assistance consistently lacking and generally unwelcoming. Walking into Lowes was such a revelation.. I remain so impressed with the great lighting and friendly,wecoming vibe that it will now be where we go to drop lots of $$$$ . I am confident that delivery and set up will also be 5 star..fingers crossed! read more

I visited there yesterday. I did not have a credit card any longer. I wa looking for floor covering and I wanted to charge it, I did have a card and so did my husband, however he used Lowe's more often than I did. He poassed away and as a result it wasn't being used so it was cancelled, I knew it had been cancelled as they tod me at checkout when I visited the store a few nonths ago, I did not do anything about it at that time. Yesterday when I went to the store and was looking for area rugs and flooring I was not sure of the various choices soI went to the cahier desk in the flooring department and asked for help. This very well informed youn woman decided to help me. First of all she appeared to know what she was talking about on top of that she walked me through to get my card she knew her stuff, I was never the expert of anything regarding home improvements, that was his job (my husbands). The fact that that I am not that young, maybe she too pity of e. She helped me to my car with the rug, just an area rug, neverless awkward and heavy. She adds dimension to your store and I will pass it on as I have friends as ill infrmed as I am. I have always liked Lowes and do find that all you have to do is ask, Please give Colleen Boutin an atta boy for me. I did appreciate the help and it was good help.
