Bottom line: Clean, well maintained, well stocked Lowes Foods location. Prices are not the cheapest for groceries on the whole as tends to be the case with most Lowes Foods stores but they come across as a pretty high end grocery stop with plenty of selection. A nice place for grocery shopping! The Deets: When we had just missed the limited hours of the pop-up Dewey's Bakery holiday shop in Sherwood Plaza, my mother and I decided to pop over to this Lowes Foods grocery store next to it and get some last minute holiday food items. As far as aesthetics and appearances go, this Lowes Foods is very nice inside and follows the template for most of their stores with layout and selection. This store appears to be clean and well maintained also. It does not lack for any type of food station and grocery type as far as I can see, even pre-made food options to go, a beer den for grabbing a beer there, and a deli offering. They have a lot of produce right as you enter as well. Service and staff were helpful on our visit. Lowes Foods does tend to be one of the more expensive grocery chains around but there are many that say you get what you pay for...and this Lowes Foods tends to show that. Including consideration for price point just making it miss full 5 stars from me, I would say 4.5 stars here...it's pretty nice! read more

We love this location!! They have really dedicated time to theming and offering tons of options from a coffee shop to quirky sausages to prepped veggies this store has all the options! The staff are always friendly and quick to make sure you have a great experience and can find everything you need! Their fresh bread is delicious and they have tons of unique sausage options that give a nice twist. My favorite part is the registers themed to streets in the local area! I like the layout of Lowes, and this location in particular seems to be well stocked, with everything seeming pretty easy to find despite being a rather large supermarket. I was not impressed by the bakery items, but they've got a huge selection of beer and wine. Their draw is the sit and sip area, where you can sample a selection. Pretty unique feature for a supermarket that I've yet to do, but hey it could make for an interesting date idea!?... Speaking of which, I did notice last time I was there they held some kind of farm to table event, so it seems they do host community events! Good social opportunities at a supermarket, of all places! The store overall seems clean and tidy, and the staff are friendly and will sometimes offer to help load your car. I haven't been asked, but I'm not offended by that, either! read more

For years, my go to for chicken salad, pasta, side items had been Lowe's Foods on Robinhood Rd. Today, I went in and they had very little to offer. Pasta salad was stale looking. There was NO rotisserie chicken salad available except in smaller cartons located in the fried chicken area. At ridiculous prices! You can do better. Very disappointing. read more

After shopping at almost all grocery stores in all of northern , western & southern Winston-Salem over almost the last 10 years, I have concluded that considering all the pluses and minuses of the stores re: range of ability of high-quality and healthy food selection, the Robinhood location of Lowes Foods & the Walmart neighborhood grocery store on Stratford Road are at the top of my list, if I have time to park in the usually crowded Robinhood shopping center parking lot and get in and out in a 'reasonably time period! The only other grocery store in Forsyth County that most probably exceeds this Robinhood Lowes Store is the huge Lowes Store in Clemmons, NC which I've always shopped at approximately four or five times all of which I happen to be in such a hurry that I was not able to take my time to see all of the availability. The service is definitely above average over the Harris Tetter stores that I shop! The ambience is a little bit, to an affair amount over average! I particularly like the 6+ tables and chairs that are available in the beer and wine bar area and the huge variety of very fresh vegetables and fruits on the huge salad bar alongside three selections of great hot soups to eat there at the tables or carry out! The wine & beer selection is the most expensive of any grocery store I have shopped and they usually have at least one fairly experienced Wine advisor who knows more about Wine than any other non-Wine store in Winston-Salem! For the last approximately 30 years, I have been the wine selector/buyer for my expansive family of 20+ for Thanksgiving 'half a week celebration' on the Outer Banks and for our family Christmas dinner of 12+, in attempting to satisfy an extreme wide, diverse taste in wines! Except for the huge wine shop on Stratford Road, the selection range and advisor quality for wines is second to none! For 30 years, I get almost straight 'five star reviews' from my expansive 20+ family members, when for 30 years (twice a year), purchased part of my wines of 6 to 12 bottles, at the Robinhood Lowes Store, using selections recommended by the Wine advisor there! That adds up to approximately 540 bottles of $10-15 wines over 30 years. The wine selector is extremely good at helping me purchase ones in the $20 bottle range on sale to satisfy my $10-$15 per bottle requirement, especially trying to help me get unique high quality ones that are new to the market and our extremely high-quality but our priced at a lower price in order to introduce themselves to the Wine buying public! This Lowe's Foods is right up Robinhood Road from a townhouse I own so I am here what seems like once a day. I make sure and go on Wednesdays for their 1/2 price sushi. I'm vegetarian so I get the veggie roll which has been running $4.99 for 12 pieces. Is it on the boring side? Sure, I would love some tempeh or tofu thrown in there. But I'll settle for fresh avocado, cucumber and carrots with wasabi, ginger & soy which comes in the package. I always spice it up with some Sriracha and /or Huy Fong Chili Garlic Sauce. My only complaint is they have started skimping on the wasabi & ginger. They've got good produce and if you'd like to have a cold beer while you shop, they have cupholders on their carts! Oh...and they are always mentoring young kids and helping some less fortunate folks learn new skills like customer service, bagging groceries, etc. See ya there! read more

Very disconcerting interaction with manager and cashier. 06/15/2023 9:30PM Partial pay on card at card only checkout(fault to me), approached cashier to transfer cash payment to different register. Cashier proceeded to re-ring items that I had partially paid for. I stated I had already partially paid and asked if there was not a receipt printout from prior register a lá any other grocery store. This gentleman said simply 'no'. No eye contact, no care in his timbre. I was immediately disturbed by his countenance and unsure of debit card being charged. Inquired further and was asked if he minded my items being placed to the side while he informed the manager on duty(I'm here for coffee grounds and avocado, not a hulabaloo, but yes please). Loud raps on an office door and now there is a guest behind me with a quick purchase. I Let him checkout and proceeded to what seemed like plead my case to an apathetic young man and somewhat bright and capable manager on duty. Manager cleared it up instantly with an explanation of how bad terminals cancel card payments upon faulting. A little embarrassed that I was sort of a spectacle and cannot understand why the cashier couldn't explain this to me previously. Neither man had anything but clipped words at this point. Wholey embarrassed. Not very kind. I am a waiter by trade and know how to be a pain sponge for someone's misstep(approaching the wrong self checkout line). Shame on you guys? Probably. read more

This store is on the expensive side and not somewhere that I do my regular shopping, but when you are seeking out deals and discounts in particular this is a good spot to stop in. They have some really good meat deals from time to time and there are very often a lot of markdowns- cheese marked half off that is near the sell by date, or buy one get one deals on baked goods. The real draw for me and what as added them to my weekly shopping trip- the bakery and grocery mark down section. Far from the bakery in the meat area (for some reason) they have two racks that are always at least half full when I stop in with baked goods marked down 50% or more. I've taken to buying my bread here for the most part- really nice quality rolls, loaves of bread and yes of course pastries, pies, sometimes cookies and cakes. In the dairy/bread aisle there is another shelf tucked into a corner where they have their grocery close outs or items nearing their sell by date and I have scored some great deals here. Everything is 50% off or better- I've gotten really expensive cereals, pastas, sauces, even some things like paper plates and napkins for a real steal. So while this isn't a store that I would recommend doing your regular grocery shopping in- it's definitely worth running in for a peek at the bargain racks! read more

This is my go-to Lowes Foods for wine as they have a really nice and wide selection of wines. I love the "beer" den as I can buy a glass of wine while I shop. I will tell you that it has been my experience that the folks behind the beer den counter are not very well versed in wines, selections, how long an opened bottle should last, etc. Lowes offers a 10% discount when you purchase 12 bottles. Usually, a couple of days prior to a major holiday, Lowes will have a 20% discount on 12 bottles of wine!! read more

I have shopped at this location several times and never had any issues; however my visit just now was different. The employee over seeing the self check out area made me feel very uncomfortable. I was using the self check out register that was located directly in front of where the employee was standing; I paid for my items and took a bag to place under my child stroller. The employee come up behind me and point to the screen saying "you still owe $5.32" as though he was watching only me the whole time. I paid my remaining balance grab the rest of my bags and left. I forgot to grab some other items so I had to return back to the store. I picked up a lemon and sanitizing wipes and went back to the self check out register. This time the employee was behind the customer service desk but was called out by another customer using the self check out register. When he went to assist the other customer he saw me and the register I was using. After I made my purchase I went to the lottery machine to purchase a starch off card and notice I did not grab my bag. I headed back to the self check out area and the employee was standing there hold my two items out of the bag. As I was walking up to him he said "oh are these yours?" like he did not just see at the register where he picked up the items and I was not standing at the lottery machine. Again I never had any issues at this location until just now with this visit. read more

We are really starting to LOVE Lowe's Foods. Our "big plans" for Friday night involved going to Lowe's... mainly for their Beer Den. We tried all 8 beers on tap before deciding on a NC Oktoberfest brew. I also grabbed a couple bottles of wine on sale. (Flip Flop wines 2/$10... Not bad deal considering they're normally $8.99 each). Unfortunately the beer/wine are was about as far as we made it. Next time I'm there I'll explore the rest I the store but because of their Beer Den alone, this place gets 4-star. (If I could, I would probably 4.5 star) I think in general, their prices seem a little high, thus, I am holding back giving them a full 5-star. Please hire someone for the chicken kitchen. You have a good product, but poor management and customer service. Between the hours of 4:00pm and 6:00pm customers will be picking up chicken and sides. Watch the scanner, or should I say scammer. This store seems highly disorganized. I often have to travel the store side to side 3 times to find things. They also move stuff all the time so I have to hunt them down. Compared to Harris Teeter, the prices of Lowes are not great. On average, most items are 10-20% higher in price. What compelled me to write this review is the last time I was there, I bought about 15 items. 2 items scanned wrong price! They even had an "Ooops" tag next to the meat I was buying saying their ad was wrong, well guess what? It ran up $4.50 more than what it should have. They are also often out of meats that are on sale hoping you won't notice and buy the more expensive stuff. They will even leave the sign there, but they've replaced it with other meat that isn't on sale in the same place. Also, last night when I was there, some of the hamburger looked VERY VERY brown. Like it was 2-3 days past it's expiration. This place needs to get it together. I will only be going there to buy 2 things from now on that my other stores don't carry. read more

I ADORE this Lowes Foods location! my family visits this LF on a daily basis. We have for years but when they transformed into the magical new atmosphere it now is we feel even more inclined to go. This is my favorite Lowes Food. They have a great selection of meat and seafood. They have a chocolate bark bar where you can choose what you want on your chocolate. The beer den usually has a good selection of beers on tap. I like the fried chicken kitchen. You can get a chicken meal for a decent price. The staff is friendly and helpful. Beautiful remodel is complete. I love the new store. Sausage Works is pretty cool with dozens of sausages to choose from, I loved the Margarita Sausage. Ask the staff at the Chicken Kitchen to do their song and dance for you! They have a pick and prep station where you can purchase your veggies and they will slice and dice them for you. Its the best grocery store I've been to and since the remodel in August 2014 they are Roasting their own Coffee and and Making Elegant looking Bark from tempered Belgian Chocolate right by the front entrance. The smell is a good reminder to ask for a sample! Start your morning this way and thank me later: Large Iced Coffee and 1/4 lb of dark chocolate bark with sliced almonds and dried cherries. Horrible employees with no work ethic or customer service experience. I was just trying to buy a gift card and at one point 3 employees stood around offering no assistance to anyone and seemed to just be socializing. I asked for a manager but all I got was a sorry for the issue. There was a lane that was unmanned but light on and when I asked the 3 employees (who were in uniform) if someone is working that lane because light was on they said it doesn't look like it and offered no further assistance. I had initially asked if I could do self check out and the person standing there had no idea then someone else came over and said no you need to go to cashier, but I asked of they could just check me out since the only working cashier had a line and they said you have to get in line. Mind you, they are standing around the customer service desk with a cash register. The person that ultimately checked me out was pleasant but this experience definitely left a bad taste in my mouth and I will think twice of where I will go when I need to run in for a quick errand. read more

Horrible customer service when you need help. Where did common sense go. I am an out-of-towner buying $400 worth of gift cards for my terminally ill mother. Not knowing that Lowes Foods us different than Lowes Hardware, I accidently bought the wrong gift cards. When I asked to exchange for the Lowes Foods, the clerk said that was out of policy. When they called corporate, corporate informed them it's third party and not their policy to exchange. There is no posted sign referring to that policy (I took a picture because corporate said it's posted) nor is it stated at all on the receipt. Brought that to the attention of the store manager and his only comment was (1) that is company policy and he does not want to shell out $400. Where did common sense go, let alone informing the customer so stated policy. Never shopping there again and would warn others of the lack of customer service at this store. David, you should be ashamed of your lack of understanding and support of good customers. read more
