We love Timmy's for all things fried chicken and spice! Their space is tight but such a great place for a quick and delicious meal. Their menu is simple but everything is tasty. We love a fried chicken sandwich, crinkle fries, and wings. Also they have great ranch! I will say their service could use some work. When they are overwhelmed they make it extremely obvious to their patrons which is an uncomfortable feeling at best. But we will keep coming back for their delicious chicken fare!

I really enjoyed my trip to Timmy's hot chicken. Me and my fiance came here to eat lunch. It's really what you'd consider a "hole in the wall"- it's small but cozy. It's longer than it is wide. I was surprised to find it was a sit down restaurant with table service rather than ordering at the front and waiting on your food. Our server was very kind. Food came out quickly and was perfectly seasoned. We both got the tenders (medium heat). Chicken was amazingly juicy and tender. The seasoning was great too! Spicy, but not so bad that you can't taste the flavor. The signature sauce was also great with the tenders, it almost tasted like a honey mustard to me. The Mac and cheese was amazing as well. Definitely will return here.

Simple and straightforward menu with some delicious chicken. Get the thighs if you love some juicy, tender chicken! I can't handle much spice and their lowest option was perfect for me! Aside from the chicken, the experience wasn't much to write home about. Each additional cup of sauce will cost you (and they are little cups) and the service quality drops once there are several tables and people waiting for to-go orders. If you need extra water, you better bring some yourself. Tables and floors could use some better cleaning and the checkout area could be a little better organized with all the patrons waiting around for orders.

Tried Timmy's for the first time. Had a Liverpool Red Ale and the Tim at level hot. The ale was excellent, our waiter was awesome, the air was cool. The crinkle cut fries were crispy and the chicken sandwich was HOT and outstanding. I loved it!! They have a very hot and hellfire. The hot level was enough for me though. Highly recommend.

I was really impressed! The food was great. I'm not a huge fan of spicy chicken, but the great thing about this spot is that you can adjust the spice level to your liking, which makes it perfect for those of us who don't handle heat well. This was my first time going, but now that I know about the customizable spiciness, I'll definitely be coming here more often. The collard greens and coleslaw were solid, the mac and cheese tonme was a 8 out of 10 and the chicken and waffles were delicious--nothing out of the ordinary, but definitely something I'd order again. The service was great, our waiter was super nice, very attentive. The only thing to note is that it's not a very big space, so if you're planning to come with a large group, seating could be tricky. However, for smaller groups of up to four, I'd say seating is pretty reasonable. Parking is the usual downtown situation--you'll need to use a meter or one of the nearby parking decks. All in all, Timmy's Hot Chicken is a great spot to grab a bite, and I'm excited to return!

My mouth is on fire. My own fault. Haha, the Hot Timmy chicken sandwich was fantastic. If you do one thing (chicken) on the menu, you better do it well, and this place knows how to do hot chicken well. I had a side of collards (enough for 2 people) and all was delicious.

I discovered this place by accident, and I am super glad I did. This small joint is tucked right before Small Batch bar in downtown Winston-Salem. Their menu is pretty small, consisting only of chicken sandwiches and the lone fish sandwich, but let me tell you, there is nothing else you need. I was tempted to get the chicken and waffles, which I will surely get next time, but I opted for the fish sandwich. It is summertime, and I love seafood in the summer, and it was a home run. The batter was crispy and flavorful, so I could still taste the cod underneath all those gorgeous seasonings. I got the mild seasoning, which had a great flavor and a good spice level. The slaw also played a significant role in the sandwich too, providing some needed lightness and vegetable crunch in the crispy fish sandwich. The fries that I got with my sandwich were bomb as well, they were just crinkle fries, but that had a great seasoning on them, and the "Come back Sauce" (made with horseradish) was oh so tasty and provided a great flavor to the fries, and I ended up dipping some of my cod in it. The sauce made me think of Outback Steakhouse's blooming onion sauce, but that is a good thing! My Girlfriend got the chicken sandwich (The Timothy) with mac and cheese. This mac and cheese was delicious, nice and creamy, and cheesy. However, the pasta was wayyyyy overdone, but that's understandable in this dish and a very common theme in restaurant mac & cheese. One thing I noticed about this restaurant is that they had a hot wing challenge. If you consume the spiciest wings on the menu within a specific time frame, you get to personalize a plate, and they will stick it on the wall to commemorate the pain and heat that you endured. It is not really for me, but it is there if you are a masochist.

You don't often see a hole-in-wall spot in most larger downtown areas, but this place is surely one of them. Parking is a bit of a problem, and wether you find an on street spot or chose the paid parking spot on Liberty, you will be looking at least a 2 block walk, in an area where there can be a lot of city bus traffic. This is a small bare bones spot, rectangular in shape and more than a little narrow. The lighting is minimal giving the place a touch of gloom, no wall decorations for the most part. The music being played in the background must be for the staff. I ordered the Tim (thigh) with FF and a German Pilsner. There are 4 spice levels and I took the second which they label hot, and it was that. The order was out quickly, right at 10 minutes, so the chicken is more than a little already cooked and kept warm or reheated. The meat is plentiful, hanging well over the sides of the Hawaiian Bun. The chicken is simply dressed with a couple of pickle slices and the house comeback sauce. In general, the sandwich was tasty and the high spice level brings the heat. The type of bun is not a favorite, does not stand up to the size of the chicken, comes apart, and is on the sweet side! The crinkle fries reminded me that no matter how much you season previously frozen crinkled fries, they remain crinkled fries, and at $4 an order this is not a value item! They do a plentiful take out business, at least a lunch, and in house customers can be left sitting while they check out the take out orders - at peak times I image it could be a train wreck since they are staffed at a minimum. All in all, this is a very nice Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich, but the rest of the experience here was less than satisfying - parking is problematic; the ambiance is nothing to write home about either; and the service seems to kind of comes and goes! Weighing all aspects of the meal I had, I would not be tempted to return.

As a fan of Nashville hot chicken, I've had versions that have ranged from fairly faithful to loosely adapted and done right to butchered beyond all recognition. This made me curious about Timmy's, and I'm pleased to report that it falls in the former categories rather than the latter. A long, narrow, dimly lit space next door to Small Batch, Timmy's boasts a wall of plates to commemorate the winners of its Hellfire wings challenge (one order eaten in ten minutes or less without drinks). I opted for takeout during my first visit, but it seems like a casual, relaxed spot for dine-in. Timmy's menu suits its concept well and offers a fair bit of flexibility. You can get wings, tenders, boneless thighs, or fish. All are available with bread on the side and pickles, or you can opt for sandwiches that are varying degrees of loaded (Beyond Meat is also an option here) or even chicken and waffles. Sauce heat levels range from medium to the aforementioned hellfire. I decided to play it safe with a medium Timothy: tenders, pickle, American cheese, slaw, bacon, and comeback sauce. At $12 for the sandwich only (sides are another $4 to $5), it wasn't cheap, but it was well worth it. The sandwich delivered the sweet-and-heat combination I was looking for while the slaw and bacon added a welcome crunch. Surprisingly for a sandwich as loaded as this one, it didn't completely fall apart while I tried to eat it. While I can't attest to Timmy's sides or the dine-in experience, the sandwich was enough to tell me where to go the next time a Nashville hot chicken craving hits. Here's hoping the Greensboro location opens soon.

A rainy Wednesday afternoon was a perfect time to try Timmy's chicken in downtown Winston-Salem, and I'm kicking myself that it took me this long. What can I say? There are so many great places to eat in the Triad, and only so much you can eat right? Anyway, to the task at hand. The weather made it a fairly quiet lunch, as I took a seat toward the back of the narrow restaurant. RoboCop was on TV and that is always good and silly. It took a bit to decide on what to eat, but I ended up going with the hot chicken thighs, as that's in my opinion the most flavorful part of the chicken. I also got an order of collard greens after asking for the waiters suggestions. My order came out in just 10 minutes, which was great, I was on a mild time crunch. First thing you notice is the crispy and spice filled batter on the chicken. Perfection. My first bite of meat sent me to a good place. Dipped in either their ranch or comeback sauce, it was a perfect mix. Honestly. I'd have been happy with just the chicken. It does come with a little plain white bread to sop up grease and sauce as per tradition. The collard greens were cooked just right, but at least for my tastes, too heavy on the vinegar. This won't be the case for everyone, so I didn't feel right deducting anything. I still ate about half of the good size portion. The art in collards is getting the texture right and they have. Next time I'll go for Mac and Cheese. You can see in my pics, it's a nice portion of chicken, and even without crushing all my collards, I left plenty satisfied and would come back. Looking forward to checking out the Greensboro location when complete!

I came here to grab some food while on my lunch break. I had never been here before but I will be back again. The guy who took my order was super nice and had such positive energy. I ordered The Tim which is fried chicken, pickles, and comeback sauce and you have the option to have fried chicken thighs or tenders. My heat level was hot and it was for sure HOT. There are also two levels of heat above hot: very hot and hellfire. I also ordered a side of fries. The seasoning on the fries was sooo good! This place definitely rivals any hot chicken spot in Nashville. I would recommend this place. I can't wait to go back to try more things like their banana pudding and Mac and cheese.

Craving Nashville style hot chicken in Winston salem? Timmy's has your fix! First you select your chicken (sandwich, tenders, etc.) then the fun part - choose your spice level. Timmy's has the options medium, hot, very hot & if you're feeling really adventurous hellfire. I would say I have a good spice tolerance and hot is just perfect every time. Hot, but not so hot that it isn't an enjoyable eating experience. Alongside of your chicken, Timmy's also has several side options including crinkle cut fries & my favorite Mac and cheese. With great service and food made fresh to order, I would highly recommend checking out Timmy's if you are downtown.

    Raw chicken

Ordered takeout and was served RAW CHICKEN. I am absolutely disgusted. I ate part of it before I realized. Do not trust these people! My girlfriend and I are hoping we don't get sick after accidentally eating some before we realized.
