Pretty good breakfast and lunch spot. Decent sized dining room with table side service and daily specials. Staff were friendly and quick with drinks and orders. Meat loaf platter comes with two sides and rolls/hush puppies. Side salad was crisp and fresh with plenty of dressing on the side. Green beans were seasoned well. When I pulled up I was greeted by two chickens, who were quickly shooed away by an employee, who jokingly let me know that chicken was the special on tonights menu. Always consistent and always tasty! Took some coworkers from California here for their first taste of NC bbq and they were blown away by the price and the portion sizes. I consider myself a bit of a pork bbq snob and I usually don't like most eastern styles (I prefer Lexington style). However, CB has a great spice blend and their chop is the right consistency to soak up the vinegar and provide balanced flavor. Their slaw is also excellent and has almost an Apple cider vinegar undertone with the right amount of sweetness to balance with the bbq. Tons of good options on the menu... my only critique is on the hush puppies. They are occasionally a bit dry but other than that, can't complain. Yes, I dream about the fried tenderloin topped with gravy. And that's why country bbq is a go to for us again and again. Not only is their space clean and service friendly, the food comes out promptly and it's ALWAYS delicious. If you want the south on a plate, just true down home southern cooking, this is the spot! I've never left unsatisfied. Also you have to order their spicy bbq sauce. I love to dip my hushpuppies in it. And they have the good ranch - iykyk. This is one of my go-to places for lunch. This is just goooood NC BBQ. I typically go through the drive-thru, because I usually can zip through without waiting too long. The staff always has their warm Southern hospitality ready to take your order. Their menu isn't too overwhelming, it has your standard BBQ dishes/meals. There is a choice of ribs, chicken and even hot dogs. Boy, do I like their all the way hot dogs. They have a nice selection of sides. The BBQ plate has a lot of food. So come with an appetite. It has a nice helping of BBQ, loads of fries and hush puppies. They also have their tasty BBQ slaw. Their vinegar based slaw is Dee-li-cious. Don't forget to ask for a side of extra BBQ sauce. Now I like my fries softer with a little crunch. So their fries are so good to me. The savory BBQ is seasoned just right. Sprinkle a dab of their BBQ sauce on top and you have the right pairing. 5 stars for the tenderloin biscuit with some of their delicious house made "hot sauce" and a solid 4 for everything else, but in my book if you have a bona-fide "best in class" item on your menu, you get credit for the FIVE every time! Country Barbeque on 68 in High Point is just a roomier version of the classic spot across from Costco on Wendover. Serving up the same menu, and thankfully for everyone, the same delicious pork tenderloin biscuit in the mornings. While I prefer another place in High Point for every other kind of biscuit on earth (IYKYK) I will always concede the tenderloin biscuit in particular is just incredible here. If you really want a filling start to your day, have them add egg and cheese to it, as I have done in my pics here. I also recommend their hash browns when available. They give you a huge amount of them, and they far exceed the french fries. This is also a good spot for me for some hot dogs (they do offer white slaw as well as the red), and in my opinion, they have some of the best Lexington style BBQ in Guilford county. The hushpuppies here are always good, but somehow the fries get rock hard very quickly, they don't even have to cool too much. I usually dine in, but tonight I called in an order. A man answered and said he would have to put me on hold for a minute. When the timer on my phone reached five minutes, I hung up and called back. A different man answered and took my order right away. I drove the five miles over there and went through the drive thru. The food was ready, I paid and went on my way. When I arrived home, I realized that they had forgotten my large peach cobbler (they were out of strawberry). Now I have to drive ten miles out of my way through rush hour traffic to get something that I already paid for, so I'm not very happy. I called on the way and the cobbler was ready when I got back to the window. What really bothered me about the whole thing was that I received no apology. No "sorry about that" or anything. We've had plenty of items on the breakfast menu but never the BBQ. How does that even happen?! We decided to pick up BBQ, white slaw and a bottle of their sauce, on our way to New River last Friday. The service of this restaurant has gone downhill a lot. They used to care about the food and quality they put out for consumption. The staff seems to have an attitude; they treat you like you are a bother to them. Not only did this happen to me, but we also witnessed it happen to several patrons during our visit. When the food came out, they did not give you any utensils to eat your food with. Regarding the beverage you order, you do not even get a full cup. Everything there is made to where you have you have to asked for items. They need to being back servers to assist the customers. I come to Greensboro every year and never leave without having BBQ. I usually go to the Wendover location but decided to try this location since we were staying just down the road. This location is more modern and spacious and the food is just as good . They serve up some the best pulled pork Bbq along with a list of delicious sides. The coleslaw and vinegar dipping sauce is delicious. The port sizes are pretty big and i never leave hungry. So if you are in the area this is definitely a spot to try. Great eaten plain, I like to put their hot bbq sauce on it. Their's really no need for a side due to the size of it. I think their BBQ Chicken is probably the best around. It's tender and flavorful. If you have been to a Montgomery Inn - Ribs King - you will be really disappointed here. You walk in and take a seat. The sit down meal is served on a plastic picnic plate with plastic forks and knives. Saturday special is 1/2 BBQ chicken with hush puppies and slaw. The chicken was moist and had a lightly smoked flavor. Its not a huge 1/2 chicken but it was plenty. The bbq sauce is sweet and tangy with a vinegar base and not sickeningly sweet like so many. It had a great balance so i enjoyed it. It reminds me of what my Daddy use to make so that was a plus. It's served in a cup on the side so you decide how much or how little to use. With a thin sauce, i find dipping it a bite at a time the way to go. The hushpuppies were plentiful and everyone enjoyed them. They have BBQ slaw and cole slaw both were good although the cole slaw was light on mayonnaise which wasn't a bad thing just a little different from the typical slaw. The fried tenderloin sandwich on a bun with lettuce, tomato and mayo was fantastic and the tenderloin hung off the bun, literally on every side. It was devoured before i could even ask for a picture. (Maybe next time.) This is a BBQ reataurant so it's not fancy or gourmet but it's good solid down home food and I'll look forward to trying some other items on the menu in the future. read more

This location is newer, bigger, with a roomy, conventional parking lot, and a drive-thru with clear communications. It serves up the same solid food as its older, smaller, somewhat funky sister restaurant on W. Wendover Avenue - Lexington style Pork BBQ, BBQ Chicken, Ribs, Pork Tenderloin (biscuit, sandwich, or plate), Burgers, Hot Dogs, Brunswick Stew, a few country cooking plates, and some other sandwich choices. Some folks feel this restaurant (and the other location) serves up the best Lexington style BBQ in Guilford County, and as far as walking in and grabbing a sandwich or plate, I'd agree - though Stamey's full shoulder is my idea of the best, and not just talking about Guilford County. You can get the BBQ here chopped, coarse chopped, or sliced, and I prefer the sliced or coarse chopped. They offer both red BBQ slaw and a mayo based one as well, The BBQ slaw here is very good, tart but not too much so. The meat is tender, moist, but with little smokiness. The BBQ Chicken and the Ribs are good, not great, and the Brunswick Stew (which is just on the menu in the cold months) has excellent flavor, though the meat content is not what it once was. Their Chili Cheeseburger is pretty good, and could be great if they'd just be a little less stingy with the chili. The Hot Dog is passable, but the FFs are terrible. They serve breakfast, and it is pretty good in general, while the Pork Tenderloin Biscuit is almost famous in the area. Service is usually pretty good, though it can slow down at peak. My second favorite BBQ in North Carolina - at least of those spots I've found. The daily specials are very well priced and usually come out very quickly. My office is nearby and so it's easy to call in an order, and run over to pick it up at the drive-through and be back with plenty of time for lunch break. My favorite of their dishes is the 1/2 BBQ chicken. The skin is very well seasoned, and usually perfectly cooked. The sides are all the usual favorites, beans, mac and cheese, and the hush puppies are addicting, small 1/2" ball sized. Gimme a bag of those and I'm a happy camper! read more
