Ray Ray's is a small chicken chain of restaurants in North Carolina. They have 3 locations total, Mocksville,, Randalman and Asheboro. The restaurant is open and bright with tall windows along the front and sides. A very nice change from the cloned box chain restaurant buildings these days. They have a drive thru and dine in with lots of booths surrounding the perimeter of the inside and some tables in the center. They also have a small outdoor seating area. It's not covered though so it will be a seasonal option. The inside has a large counter that looks like it could be a bar area but it was empty and looked unfinished. We ordered at the counter where a friendly cashier helped us decide on what sauces to choose. Since it was our first time here we wanted to try a variety of items. I ordered three sliders and my husband got a tender combo. Our food came out really quickly and it was super hot. The fries were seasoned well too. No one likes unseasoned fries. One of the first things we noticed was how small the tenders were. I would have expected a larger tender for the price honestly. The flavor was delicious and we loved the different sauces they had. The spicy peach sauce was one of my favorites as well as the honey mustard. The pretzel bites we got as a side were ok. I'd probably skip them next time though. Overall we had a great experience at Ray Rays. I'd go there again for sure. Next time I'll have to try one of their sandwiches or bowls I think. read more

Wow! When I first saw Ray Ray's Chicken Shack in Mocksville I thought "do we really need another chicken place? How good can it be?" I've never been so happy to be proven wrong! Not only are the portions beyond generous, but the food is DELICIOUS. There are not many chicken sandwiches out there that can rival chick-fil-a, but.... I might have to put Ray Ray's on top. As someone who usually hates crinkle cut fries, they are done right here. Seasoned to perfection and crisp on the edges! Also, so many fries included that I couldn't even finish them all in one sitting. The chicken itself is so juicy, crispy, and full of flavor. They also have fresh lemonade and orangeade, and yes, it's actually fresh. The lemon flavor packed a punch but in the best way. I am SO excited to have this new addition to Mocksville and I already can't wait to come back and try more of the menu! read more

Ray Ray's looks like a big chain from the outside, but serves food that tastes like it came out of small town hidden gem. This was my first time trying it, and even though I was skeptical, I was not disappointed. I went through the drive-thru at peak lunch time, at about 1215. From placing my order until I had food in my hands was only 7 minutes and there were 3 cars ahead of me. Not bad. The drinks and food were both in unmarked styrofoam containers and inside of a generic grocery bag. Not seeing the restaurant label plastered over all the containers was the first sign I got that this was about to be good; don't ask me why. I ordered the Nashville Hot chicken sandwich and original chicken sandwich combos with a fresh squeezed lemonade and fresh squeezed orangeade. The lemonade was quite literally face-puckering sour. I normally like my lemonade on the sour side, but it was even a bit much for me. This is the only criticism I have in this entire review. The orangeade was pretty good, but felt like it needed a little something. I ended up mixing both of them together and it was fantastic. I highly recommend doing this. The piece of chicken on both sandwiches were thick and juicy. The seasoning in the breading really shines in the original chicken sandwich, and it had an audible crunch. The Nashville Hot sandwich, while it lacked the crunch of the original, it made up in the flavor from the sauce. On top of the fact that the sandwiches were both delicious, they give you about twice as many french fries than you would get at any other fast food spot. I'm not normally a fan of crinkle cut fries, but these were hot, crispy, and well seasoned. Thoroughly impressed with this new chicken spot and I will come here over the chic-fil-a any day. read more

I've heard conflicting comments about Ray's so I checked it out myself. I ordered 2 Nashville Hot sandwiches through the drive thru line. The speaker was clear and the person was friendly. $15.78 for 2 sandwiches. Ouch. The sandwiches were decent size, rainy no bigger or smaller than Chick Fil A or KFC. The breaded breast was topped with a piece of lettuce and had three pickle chips underneath. You can get a regular Nashville Hot or get it spicy. I was kind of confused as I thought it was spicy to begin with. Anyway, I got it regular. The chicken breast was quality chicken. Tender and juicy. The coating and spices were ok. Mid st best. Not very spicy. But had a clean taste without any lingering aftertaste. The bottom line: the sandwiches I got are 33% more expensive than comparable sandwiches at Chick Fil A or KFC or Popeye's. If you've got money to burn, I guess it won't matter to you. However, I feel I can get as good or better quality sandwiches at the competitors mentioned above. As for me, given the prices for what you get, I'm going to pass on Ray's in the future. 33% more is just too much for me to ignore. read more

Absolutely amazing and it was Definitely worth the wait!! I have never had fast food chicken wings as good as these were!! We also had the chicken tenders with the amazing selection of sauces! they told me they make these sauces daily. Considering i am an employee..ive tried everything on the menu at some point and i hve no complaints. My favorite is the slider meal with the 3 differnent kinds, all unique but great fir the taste buds. The portion is large enough to split. Our milkshakes are thick and favorful. Smallest most expensive salty chicken fingers I have ever had. Wendy's nuggets are better. I saw the prices of the meals and figured the chicken fingers would be large so I asked the cashier in the drive thru if I was correct. I was told they were large so was ok with paying the high price. Got home with our meal and was blown away with how tiny the fingers are. Wish I could post a pic but hold out your middle finger and they were about that big. And super salty. This place is not worth the money whatsoever!! read more
