Sweet and spicy with onion rings and a prickly pear lemonade.

I've been eating at Whataburger since I was 6. The restaurant here in Winston is great in my opinion. I don't know why this place is getting so many low reviews. I've been to the new spot here in Winston several times since it's opening. My service has not always been the fastest but I don't expect a restaurant that makes each meal fresh to order to be as fast as places that put their burgers on a rack ahead of time. Ordering via the app always speeds up the process and the food still comes out hot. The place is always clean. There are lots of tables so I've never had to wait for one. I had a Monetary Melt today and it was fantastic.

Finally got around to trying Whataburger after waiting for the hype to die down since it's been so busy. To be honest, the burgers were good, but nothing too special. I'd say if you've never tried them, it's worth giving it a shot at least once. I did enjoy their fries and onion rings, and the customer service was very nice and friendly. What I didn't like, though, was how many flies were inside. For a place that's still pretty new, that's something they really need to address. Overall, I'd rate my experience a 6 out of 10, next time Ill see about trying their breakfast menu

    Double Meat!

I grew up in Texas, so I may be a bit biased, but I genuinely think that for the price, the classic double meat Whataburger is one of the best fast-food burgers outside of In-N-Out. They haven't shrunk the size like many other chains have to stay competitive, and I was very full just from the burger alone. This location, however, seems to be going through the typical "new store rush," and I'm curious to see how it settles over time. I took my son on a Friday evening around 5 p.m., and it was packed. The drive-thru was slow, both kiosks were out of order, and only one register was open. The staff was friendly but not moving with much urgency. When you visit places like Dario, In-N-Out, or Chick-fil-A, everything runs like a well-oiled machine. This was definitely not that kind of experience--at least not yet. Hopefully, as they hire more or different staff and get into a rhythm, the experience will improve. Stay tuned.

Waited 30 minutes for cold chicken sandwich and fries.

It took 30 minutes for me to receive my order. If you're going to be this mediocre, then you'll fail. Besides, today's visit reminded me of the Whataburgers on the east coast of Florida, which no longer exist. At this rate, just stay in Texas! We have enough mediocre fast food chains!. Additionally, I'm deaf, and when they gave me the number for my order to be brought to me, the lady next to me realized they were calling out my number. They knew I was Deaf since I used my Notes app to write that I was Deaf, what I wanted and what size. Maybe grasp that not everyone is hearing!! Edit: I failed to mention that when it arrived it was cold, not even warm. COLD.

I grew up in Texas eating Whataburger so having them now in NC is a treat. There was a very busy drive through so we dined in today. Regular original Whataburger and fries, dipping sauce and a drink ... yummy.

So I came in with mindset that I'll compare it to In and out or Culvers ...it was just meh. Patty had no flavor but I liked how it was mustard forward. I ordered it with grilled onions but it was barely there. I had to lift my bun and look for the grilled onions. Fries were good and the service was great even for how crowded it was. I'll come back only if my husband is craving it and just get the child's burger.

So now that this location is finally opened I decided to stop in. I went rather early before it got very busy. I knew what to expect but I went anyway! Just like the one in Greensboro and the other NC locations, this place will be swarmed, receiving near cult adoration. I have eaten the burgers offered by this Texas based chain for a number of years, in Texas of course. I also try a cheeseburger at the recently opened Greensboro location. The burgers, FF, and Fried Chicken Sandwich are decent ( most of the time), but fall short of the best choice among national chains, as well as far short of many local options. For a national option I would prefer Culver's or Freddy's, and my local choice would be Cook Out for both quality and value. Many will come, not all will be happy with the results!

The burgers are all made to order and if you haven't tried the Walleye when they have it you really should. It's amazing and they always have it around Lent. Today I got a kids meal but this time I tried the grilled cheese instead of a burger. I also got broccoli for my side. When you eat in, they give you the kids meal bag but put your food on the tray. Don't toss that bag though because there are two coupons you'll want to save on there. One is for a free scoop of custard and the other is a coupon you collect until you get 10 of them. Once you have 10 you can redeem it for a free kids meal. My husband tried the Sourdough burger for the first time. He absolutely loved it and said he would definitely get it again.

The fries were simply ridged The slaw was rich and creamy, helped to fill out the holes in the two entrees. The tartar sauce needs some serious reworking. A good number of food sites and "influencers" feel the seafood here is among the best of the national chains. I did not find it so, rather it was just ordinary! At these prices, I will move on.

The menu is primarily hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, NC style BBQ, and of course, milk shakes. Until recently there were no spots that had any inside seating, but this is gradually changing. They are known for the small building with drive thru lanes on both sides, and this plus the congestion surrounding many of their locations can make getting in and out a challenge, though this one in not as bad as many! The burgers and chicken sandwiches here are far superior to the offerings of any national chain l, with the possible exception of a properly staffed and operating Culver's - the one in Winston is not one of those, the one in Kernersville most certainly is. The number of locals spots that rival the offerings here is very small. I ordered each of my favorite items here - Bacon Cheeseburger and the Crispy, Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich. The time in line here are generally a bit longer than the larger chains, but still around 10 minutes. The burger was excellent and well sized as alway, these folks just know how to make a great burger. And the crispy, spicy chicken sandwich is as good as anyone's, including the cult one at Popeyes! Only the BYO at Bad Daddy's is possibly a bit better, and definitely is bigger! I have found the food at Cook Out locations to be consistently excellent with very few bad experiences. There is an abundance of seating, with a few outside tables thrown in. I ordered the Small Bacon Cheeseburger, a Hot Dog with relish, and a small FF. There is no table service here, order & pay, grab a seat. My order took just under 10 minutes - I spent the time getting condiments and eating a few of the complementary peanuts! The hot dog was ok but the relish is not something I'm fond of, way too sweet). The wiener is of a very good quality, was well sized, split lengthwise and nicely grilled - wish they offered kraut. Decent dog but not worth $7 for just the dog! The burger is great tasting, hand formed, and very fresh. Even the "small" burger is of a nice size, and nestled in a soft sesame seed bun, with fresh lettuce and tomato. Nice burger but at $10.19 you can find the same quality at several local spots for $2 or so less - like Bobo's (3 blocks or so away - $7.79) or TJ's Deli ($8.25), Alex's Grill in Lewisville ( 6oz burger and a side for $9.45), and even the Greek Guys Grill ($9.05 & including a drink). The FF are as good as it gets, fresh cut and well cooked in peanut oil. The size is big, really big, so that even at $5.19 for a small order you get both the best quality and a decent value, maybe the only real value item on their menu! This place offers a nice atmosphere, though a bit sterile, and the music is pretty awful. You will get high quality almost every time in, but you may find that the pricing makes the lack of value a deterrent to visiting often. Probably stop in again. drawn by the FF and peanut.
