Happy to say I am upgrading my review score here, because I went back for the "Hot Thighs Sandwich" that I said I would in my original review, and that scratched all the things that I felt my original sandwich lacked. It was crispy, supremely juicy, and the combo of hot sauce, ranch (instead of mayo), and pickle was just right. It was a really nice size portion of chicken, and the fries were excellent, as was my Arnold Palmer. There is no doubt that you can pay less for chicken sandwiches elsewhere in the area, and you'll get a few really good ones. This one is amongst the best if I am not taking value into account. Every bite was finger licking good as they say, and I found myself wanting another one. I didn't take that leap right then, but I will soon. It's a bright and open space with some seating along the order counter and bonus points for built in power outlets underneath the bartop. I like that the menu is relatively small and limited- no choice overload here. It's chicken, salad, and basic sides. I went with the wings and quinoa salad, and I couldn't resist the sugar cookie soft serve to top it all off. My coworkers got the chicken thigh sandwich and an assortment of potato salad, slaws, and fries for the sides. The food came out fast and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. My first bite into the wings was heavenly. I tried a couple of the dipping sauces - boss and hot. I always love heat but the boss sauce was also super flavorful. The softserve was so sweet, just the way I love it. It was a little more frozen, just slightly less creamy than normal though, but tasty nonetheless. I do think price wise it might be a bit on the higher end for lunch (the wing salad drink combo was $16+) but I'd definitely come back. This is part of a small NC chain originating in Charlotte, opened in 2021, and this franchise location is owned by Noble of the Rooster here in Winston. This place is all about the chicken, almost literally. The menu has 4 or 5, wings, Bossy Bites(their version of something close to small tenders), a chicken biscuit, fries, and slaw - that's it! I ordered the Hot Thigh Sandwich Combo with FF. There is no table service, order at the register, etc - they will bring your food if traffic is light, otherwise call your name. My order was out quickly - usual caveat, it was almost empty! The meal was excellent - the Hot Thigh Sandwich was perfect, huge, perfect cooked and doused with their "Bossy Sauce", which packs some nice heat that builds as you chew on the sandwich - a great sandwich! The FF were every bit as awesome, nice and crusty on the outside, very nice flavor, further enhanced by dipping them into the side of sauce. This was a very good first visit. I have visited Bossy B's three times. That should tell you something. The first time was actually by mistake. Admittedly, I punched in Chick-fil-A because I was craving a chicken sandwich. The GPS took me to the hospital. Apparently there was a Chick-fil-A inside.... Well, that wasn't gonna work so I turned around and glanced out of my driver side window and saw this place. This was too good to be true!! I decided to park and go in! The first thing I noticed was that it smells like fried chicken. If you like that smell, walking in will instantly activate your taste buds. If you're like me... And you have some PTSD about walking into a high school dance smelling like your girlfriends fried chicken, then you might have a little bit of a freak out moment. I had a little bit of a freak out. But the chicken sandwich was good, the PTSD would be worth it. I glanced at the menu and saw that there were a couple of options. There was a chicken breast sandwich, a chicken thigh sandwich, and some nugget options. Definitely a white meat eater so I ordered the chicken breast sandwich. But I also know that the chicken thigh can be the juiciest and most flavorful part of the chicken, so I ordered one of those too. I decided I would eat breast and save the thigh sandwich for later. I turned it into a meal deal and got the fries and a drink. Let me start with the fries ... some fast food places really fail here. Not Bossy B's. I am not sure if they make the fries from scratch on the premises, but they sure taste like it. They were crunchy and beyond just about any fast food fry that you might have except for maybe McDonald's. Let's be honest, even though they're probably frozen, those McDonald's fries smack when they're made well!!! That said, these fries were delicious and they complement the sandwich very well. The breast sandwich itself was tasty enough. I liked the fact that, again, it seemed to be fresh and not frozen. I enjoyed it. How did they compare to Chick-fil-A? Chick-fil-A is guaranteed to taste good. The chicken breast is the perfect size for the bun, and the buns always slightly toasted. Perfection. But whenever I Chick-fil-A, I have to admit that I feel like I've consumed an unhealthy amount of grease. Lol. It may not be true, but it certainly feels that way. And, depending on who is making the waffle fries, they can be really really good or completely missed the boat both in terms of flavor and texture. The Bossy chicken breast sandwich was good enough and fresh enough to make the trip, if you're looking for an alternative to Chick-fil-A. The chicken thigh sandwich was actually better, probably because of the cut of poultry. I returned on a different day to try the nuggets. They were really really good also and better than most nuggets you'll have... Their bossy sauce is better than Chick-fil-A sauce, again, because it just tasted fresher. All in all I would say that it's worth a trip because the people are friendly, the food is fresh, the fries are good, and the sodas have the right ratio of syrup to carbonated water. Lol. First time trying Bossy Beulah's even though it's very close to my job. I stopped in for a working lunch and was pleased to find a table with an outlet available. I did discover that they don't have WiFi so that was a bit of a bummer. (Personal hotspot it was!) I got the bossy salad with roasted chicken. They did tell me it would take 12 minutes for that roasted chicken but I didn't mind. It was early about 11:30 so they were just getting their lunch started. The salad was delicious! I got the vinaigrette and the bite of fresh greens, crisp cucumbers, radish and deliciously seasoned chicken was to die for! It was on the smaller side for $12 in comparison to other chicken places and that would be my only complaint. But again, FRESH and delightful! The employees were all very pleasant, greeting diners with smiles and professionalism. There is a patio that has about 6 picnic tables. Although, I'm assuming lots of people walk to this location as the parking lot is very small. I recall it having about 8-10 parking spaces in total. Definitely recommend this. Their breading has cracked black pepper but other than that, the recipe is a secret! It's a crispy, light batter so it doesn't overwhelm the chicken which is juicy and delicious! Their fries are homemade and hand cut with lots of seasoning. For sauces, I recommend trying a few including their house made Buffalo sauce, Beulah's Bossy sauce, and herby ranch. Hmm - place is close to being a real winner but misses on just a couple fronts. They are new so might be working out some kinks. Let me start by saying the food is good. Like a Chick-fil-A sandwich and Five Guys Fries. I really enjoyed my meal. 1 Problem is you pay maximum money for sandwich and then the sides are also maximum money. They have 1 size - big. $5 fries or $4 coleslaw can be added to meal on top of your $8-$9 sandwich. They have no combos. I would have loved half the amount of fries and half the coleslaw for $6. 2 - Soda is $2.50 but doesn't taste right. I got a Coke Zero and it tasted weird - something not right about their mix or water. Bonus suggestion - I really liked the sandwich - it doesn't automatically come with their signature sauce - added that to it after - delicious. Fries are really good and fresh. So I posted a pic of my receipt - $17 for lunch - pricey - not like I can drop $17 on lunch everyday - means for 4 people you are looking at a $75+ bill for a fast food place - like whoa. Then I decided to justify the price - is this place paying their employees well - do they offer healthcare - because that would make it worth it. Guess what - they are hiring a line cook - full time - $16-20 an hour with medical insurance and paid time off - nice. So they charge more but are paying a living wage - I can justify the couple extra bucks. Please - add a combo meal or add a half slaw and fries together for 1 price - like $5-6 bucks more. Maybe offer a meal with a small fry and mini slaw with sandwich and a drink for $15 and you will probably clean up. Currently priced like Cin Cin across the street - makes it a once in a while for me - but I can understand the prices if all employees are making at least $16 an hour with healthcare - they had 9-10 people working when I was there. Worth checking out - food is good. Tried a sample of strawberry ice cream - super creamy. Pie, cookies and ice cream - those are priced right. Hubby and I found ourselves in the area and noticed this was new from the last time we were in the area. The decor caught our attention and the tall floor-to-ceiling windows drew us in to see what this place was all about. Both feeling like wings, we placed two orders. We tried the hot thigh sandwich which is a plentiful portion of Joyce Farms chicken thigh fried just right, doused with their signature hot sauce, mayo (Duke's, of course) and pickles. The meat was crispy and juicy all at the same time, and the perfect breading held up against the epic dousing of hot sauce. This sandwich was pretty perfect. Atmosphere: Very cool vibe located near Wake Baptist Hospital towards Winston proper. Their is a fair amount of seating but still small and quaint inside with some outside seating under a gazebo. It has some cool charm with garage doors that can be opened to make it open air dining. Service: Open kitchen so you can watch the chefs prepare your food which was cool, but the staff was friendly and made sure you had everything needed. Not a full service place but they did bring us our food to the table after counter ordering. Food: Saved the food for last. The menu is very compact and focused, but so very good. There is essentially a chicken sandwich, nuggets and chicken nugget salad with a few side options, but everything was so wonderfully cooked and flavorful. Our table had the nuggets with fries, Cheesy Beaut sandwich (swiss chicken sammy) with fries, Hot Thighs sandwich with side salad, and apple hand pies. The chicken on all items were great, tender and juicy. I personally had the hot thighs sandwich which was a boneless chicken thigh sandwich with pickles and coated in Zack sauce (a flavorful mild hot sauce), so glad I got it.
