Bossy tenders
Suzanne B.

You can't go wrong with Bossy Beulah's! We've been dozens and dozens of times and the chicken and fries are always fresh and tasty. The most tender chicken around and so juicy and the all of the sauces are yummy. Friendly staff, good music, and great food...every time!

Great spot for a quick lunch! My coworkers suggested East Coast Wings but I was getting sick of that spot and this had been on my list for awhile. I am glad I finally got to check it out. We came right at noon but only had 1 or 2 people in front of us so it was still pretty fast overall. It's a bright and open space with some seating along the order counter and bonus points for built in power outlets underneath the bartop. I like that the menu is relatively small and limited- no choice overload here. It's chicken, salad, and basic sides. I went with the wings and quinoa salad, and I couldn't resist the sugar cookie soft serve to top it all off. My coworkers got the chicken thigh sandwich and an assortment of potato salad, slaws, and fries for the sides. The food came out fast and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. My first bite into the wings was heavenly. I tried a couple of the dipping sauces - boss and hot. I always love heat but the boss sauce was also super flavorful. The softserve was so sweet, just the way I love it. It was a little more frozen, just slightly less creamy than normal though, but tasty nonetheless. I do think price wise it might be a bit on the higher end for lunch (the wing salad drink combo was $16+) but I'd definitely come back. I do think I enjoyed it more than Slappy's (at least in terms of flavor). @azfitfoodfun

How bossy is it to come up with some new tenders!! New try!

I love love love Bossy Beulah's! I can never get over the sauce and how good it taste! The chicken is very flavorful. And the staff is soo nice! I love how the seats are indoor and outdoor while viewing the traffic of the city!

We actually got to try this location during their mock opening! Greeted with smiles and hellos, we felt every welcomed! Services was so kind and quick, we hope they had a great grand opening! I ordered the hot thighs sandwich and the Beaut for my husband. Chicken was fried fresh and sides were so flavorful! My daughter enjoyed their nugget basket. Hard to find real juicy chicken sandwiches, but Bossy Beulah's does it right! Parking is very limited! And a little difficult to get in and out. One side of the parking is a one way

It's like a high end chicken sandwich! It's scrumptious and crispy, with a thick piece of real chicken! The pickles are so tasty and they offer different sauce options! The fries are my favorite!! Parking is slightly limited but here you will you walk up to the counter to order and then sit to eat. So it can be a rather quick turn around. They also have some outdoor seating which is great! BB's also offers a discount to the hospital employees, which is wonderful! Just show your badge for a deal!

Chicken salad wrap

I visited Bossy Beulahs recently and tried their chicken salad wrap. While it had a bit too much spinach for my taste and was slightly salty (I'm very sensitive to salt), the overall flavor was enjoyable. Next time, I'll probably ask for it without the spinach. My husband ordered the spicy chicken sandwich and absolutely loved it--it looked amazing, though I'm not really into spicy chicken sandwichs myself. The interior was charming, with a lovely mix of blues, greens, and reds that gave it a cozy vintage feel. The staff was friendly, and the whole place was spotless.

FYI now that they introduced banana pudding and chicken biscuits with hot honey on the weekends that is why I go to Bossy's now!! Haha BANANA PUDDING IS LIFE. Management: ******Please add these items to the menu for online ordering! It's still not available. And put it on your menu board so people know about it!****** Also they no longer have Zack's hot sauce, it's called something different now and taste different. I don't like it, they should have just kept what was popular!! It's not as spicy and taste sweet....boooooo! In addition to my first review from over a year ago I've had the opportunity to try the wings, and bossy bites. The wings weren't what I was expecting. I almost thought I got the wrong item at first because they did not look or taste like wings....more like extra extra crispy bossy bites but with a bone! I'll pass on those. The bites are really good though with bossy sauce. But my go to is still the beaut sandwich, along with dessert, and lemonade!

Bossys Sauce, little spice to dip your fries and chicken

Don't know if I can say "Hot D^m " on Yelp but dang, this lady they called Bossy knows how to do CHICKEN! Not only the chicken but the whole sandwhich put together... think KFC crunchy crust with the juicy flavor of a Chic Fila. The whole chicken breast on my sandwich was like someone had injected it with a seasoned broth; the pickles added weren't really pickled, but crisp cucumbers with a tanginess. Don't let me get started on the fries... the description might make me go back again tonight! Bossy Sauce is worthy enough to buy a bottle for home use, on everything. Service was so fast, they brought our food before we could even sit (order at counter) cute little outdoor area to eat is lit at night. Very clean inside and out, plus the employees were as sweet as if they had grandmaw Bossy standing behind them watching how they act. My bf had the Hot Thigh and it had a lot of kick. I'm sticking to the Bossy Beaut except on Saturday & Sunday morning, when they have biscuits! The door says "No hormones, antibiotics, pesticides or preservatives! " with chicken raised in the South.

Went around lunchtime and ordered took roughly 10 minutes staff was friendly and helpful. Everything was very fresh and the lemonade was great as well. Definitely would recommend trying it out. One of the best chicken sandwiches I've had around here. Don't let the pictures fool you the sandwich was pretty big.

Second time eating here, and just as yummy as the first. I tried the cucumber salad and I loved it. A little different from what I'm used to, but I was pleasantly impressed. It's a creamy cucumber salad. I also tried the chicken salad wrap; it was very good and filling. My husband tried The Hot Thigh sandwich. "Bussin'!!" A different crew was working this day, but all of the staff each time we've been, have been super kind and super helpful. We will be back. Again and again.

House Fries.

I was very excited to finally get to try them out after so long The service was amazing they have great customer service. The restaurant was nice and clean . As for the food not a fan I got the cheese beaut And it came out nice and crispy and hot but had no flavor at all I added some of the house sauce and it helped a lot 4.5 out 10. The wings 1/2 lb had 6 wings in it , I only ate one once again no flavor on them 3.5 out of 10 The saving grace was the fries very tasty and delicious crispy 8.9 out10 maybe I came on a bad day but I may try them out again Also the sweet tea 10 out 10

The Hot Thighs Combo - very nice!

This is part of a small NC chain originating in Charlotte, opened in 2021, and this franchise location is owned by Noble of the Rooster here in Winston. This place is all about the chicken, almost literally. The menu has 4 or 5, wings, Bossy Bites(their version of something close to small tenders), a chicken biscuit, fries, and slaw - that's it! I ordered the Hot Thigh Sandwich Combo with FF. There is no table service, order at the register, etc - they will bring your food if traffic is light, otherwise call your name. My order was out quickly - usual caveat, it was almost empty! The meal was excellent - the Hot Thigh Sandwich was perfect, huge, perfect cooked and doused with their "Bossy Sauce", which packs some nice heat that builds as you chew on the sandwich - a great sandwich! The FF were every bit as awesome, nice and crusty on the outside, very nice flavor, further enhanced by dipping them into the side of sauce. This was a very good first visit. I especially liked that you could order the thigh on a sandwich, few places offer that choice - breast meat is often overcooked and dry. I shall return , and they have a small selection of beer!

Starting from the outside of the restaurant , the building stood out from all the others in the area, with beautiful flowers painted on the brick and just a bright overall look. As you walk in to this lovely place, you are met with a wonderful aroma of fried chicken. Not just any chicken though. This is crispy, juicy, mouthwatering chicken. I love the whole vibe of the place, from the friendliness of the employees to the delightful music they play. I recommend trying the buttery, delicious chicken biscuit.

We also ordered the pork belly cheese fries which were loaded with pork belly..no stinginess there and the kickin' sauce was good! They had more on the menu than I expected, from smash burgers, to buttermilk fried chicken to, obviously, poke bowls. I built my own bowl, and was very happy with the result. Everything tasted fresh and very flavorful. My only small gripe was that I could tell the pineapple was not fresh and obviously canned. The jalapenos were fresh sliced and added a bit of heat, which is perfect. I feel like this is one of those places I could come back multiple times and get different combinations of things in the menu.

It's a small space - a few tables inside and a few tables out - but don't let that or the line you are likely to encounter deter you. They crank out sandwiches quickly here. Said sandwiches include about two dozen hot and cold offerings as well as the ability to build your own. The meats are Boar's Head, but the desserts and soups are made fresh in-house. Check out the display case for salads and sides that might catch your eye. O'Brien's prides itself on its Reuben, and so I went with the "mini" version (a quarter rather than a half pound of meat) with a pickle for my first visit here. Ordering at the register was a breeze, and I was fortunate enough to snag one of the tables for dine-in. Though I was a bit skeptical that the Reuben would match the hype, it delivered. I don't know that it is without a doubt the best version I've had, but it is definitely up there. The grilled rye was nice and crisp, and I appreciated that they used both mustard and Russian dressing. That, plus the meat, kraut, and melty cheese, made for a very satisfying bite. At $10, the sandwich proved a good value, too. Unpretentious and nostalgically comforting (for Northern transplants, at least), O'Brien's is a well-oiled sandwich-slinging machine. Though that Reuben will be hard to top, I look forward to giving one of their other offerings (maybe a Cuban, maybe a Spicy Italian) a try.

And as for a double curse, at most of these spots, the prices go up as the portions tail off. I have found Jason's to be flying against these trends, consistently providing stable value and consistent flavor from a menu that is large and varied - with their full salad bar providing one of the very best values at any restaurant, national or local. On this visit, I was again picking up several items for a small family group. We chose fully loaded containers from the salad bar, a bow of chili, and a full sized Reuben sandwich. Once home, we split the items up for all to enjoy - nothing disappointed! This was a first try with the chili, and it was quite nice - plenty of well seasoned ground beef, no beans or onions, but was well topped with cheddar cheese! The Reuben contained 8 ounces of hot, tasty corned beef, great cheese, plenty of kraut, marble rye, and lots of 1000 Island Dressing. It was cut into the required pieces, and the additional dressing was shared - a bit messy but delicious in total. The center piece was the large amount of variety in the salad, and when well covered in the dressing this was great - not especially healthy with the amount of dressing I added!
