Today was the day to try this popular burger spot for lunch. This location is modern in style, clean and bright, walls are tiled with lower sections in a red & white checker pattern. There is an abundance of seating, with a few outside tables thrown in. I ordered the Small Bacon Cheeseburger, a Hot Dog with relish, and a small FF. There is no table service here, order & pay, grab a seat. My order took just under 10 minutes - I spent the time getting condiments and eating a few of the complementary peanuts! The hot dog was ok but the relish is not something I'm fond of, way too sweet). The wiener is of a very good quality, was well sized, split lengthwise and nicely grilled - wish they offered kraut. Decent dog but not worth $7 for just the dog! The burger is great tasting, hand formed, and very fresh. Even the "small" burger is of a nice size, and nestled in a soft sesame seed bun, with fresh lettuce and tomato. Nice burger but at $10.19 you can find the same quality at several local spots for $2 or so less - like Bobo's (3 blocks or so away - $7.79) or TJ's Deli ($8.25), Alex's Grill in Lewisville ( 6oz burger and a side for $9.45), and even the Greek Guys Grill ($9.05 & including a drink). The FF are as good as it gets, fresh cut and well cooked in peanut oil. The size is big, really big, so that even at $5.19 for a small order you get both the best quality and a decent value, maybe the only real value item on their menu! This place offers a nice atmosphere, though a bit sterile, and the music is pretty awful. Took my daughters here on a date last night - their first 5 Guys experience. They LOVED getting an entire bag full of fries! We topped things off with a delicious Oreo milkshake. I hadn't been here in several years and my burger just wasn't quite what I remembered. It was a little on the dry side, though the fries were hot and delicious. I also docked a star due to the fact that last night I went on a date with my 7 & 5 year old daughters that ended up costing $36 (!!!). Hard to justify going back based on the price alone but they did love the experience. The peanuts are a nice touch as well. read more

I was impressed with how the fries tasted and I liked the simplicity of the menu but I can't quite wrap my head a round the price. For fries and I burger I paid close to $17 and that didn't include a drink. I may expect to pay that at a sit down restaurant like Bad Daddy's or Firebirds....it's a hit or miss for me. We have not been to a Five Guys in so long, but we decided to go today and holy inflation was it more expensive than I remember! Nevertheless we ordered our $10 burgers and it was exactly what we wanted. Greasy, with overflowing Cajun fries. The workers / employees at this location are always very friendly and I never feel like Im bothering them... which is not the case for most fast food places I've been to. They did not mess up my order and were jovial. They wear masks and kept the place clean which was a big bonus. I think there's one small area for peanuts while you wait, but of course since covid they kept it clean. read more

I really like Five Guys. The burgers and hot dogs are always great. The fries are sometimes awesome, sometimes not. There's a lot of inconsistency there. Seems to be about how long they cook them. At least half the time they come out soggy instead of crispy. This time they were on the soggy side. I don't know what happened lately with their prices but it's kind of crazy now. As far as fast food goes, you can't go wrong with Five Guys. They're more expensive than the typical fast food place, but if you're looking for some greasy goodness, you might as well go for better quality. We ordered online and each got a double burger that you can fully customize online, and we got one order of fries with Cajun seasoning, knowing full well that Five Guys is renowned for filling the tall cup and overflowing into the bag with plenty of fries to spare. They're currently open for curbside and pick up as well as delivery, but closed for dining in. You can still get peanuts by request, but the Coke Freestyle machine is still open for serving yourself surprisingly. Had to wait a few extra minutes for my order to be ready, but that's because they make it fresh to order. Very satisfied! However once I discovered these delicious burgers are available without a bun either in a bowl or wrapped in lettuce it's on!!! I can't resist their delicious made to order the way you like your burger with the works or as simple as you want it. Now it's really really hard not to order their scrumptious fries which I love Cajun style, so if you are not dieting or on a cheat day they are a must have. I have also had their hot dogs and these are also really good. Don't forget to grab some free peanuts while you are there. I mean, what's not to like here! Tasty, tasty, burgers, piles of fries, and about a thousand sodas combinations. Sometimes Five Guys is just the only option when it comes to satiating that greasy burger urge. The employees were friendly and parking at this location is plentiful. They have a nice little patio area if you want to dine outside, although your view will be of the said plentiful parking. The interior is huge so you never have to worry about finding a seat. My go to is always the little cheeseburger, plenty big enough for me. I also am a fan of those cajun fries. Even if you are sharing a regular size will be plenty. Trust me they basically just fill the bag up. My usual location is off of Hanes Mall Blvd but this one is great if I am on the Reynolda side of town. read more

It is simply not good value for money any longer. Plan to spend ~$50 for a family of 4 for burgers, fries, and drinks. Dig a little deeper if you like bacon. Kids-sized burgers with a fry and a drink will run ~$10 with tax. There are much better values out there, especially if you have kids. I wouldn't call 5 Guys "kid friendly". It is good food, but it is still fast food. You can get a meal in a restaurant with tip for the same price. I would venture to say that Five Guys has one of the best burgers in town. The regular sized burgers have two patties whereas the little one is one patty. To be honest, the single patty is a good size and I struggle to eat the regular two patty burger! The fries are delicious and seasoned SO well. A little sized Fry is enough to share because they literally fill the fry cup AND the bottom of the bag full of fries. I'm on a low carb diet so I skipped the fries and opted for the lettuce wrapped burger, which is just as yummy. They also have the option of a burger in a bowl as well! The last two times I've ordered from this store and had it delivered it's been nothing but chaos. First order back in December was delivered only a part of order was received. They threw the third party delivery company under the bus. Tonight I ordered once again and received someone else's order completely. The manager Mike wouldn't let me talk without interrupting me constantly to once again throw the third party delivery service under the bus. The DoorDash driver even went back to the store to correct the order. Once again the store was not helpful in resolving the issue and wouldn't even look up the order to replace it for the delivery driver. They just handed him a burger and fries of which the order was for 4 burgers and two large fries so not even close to fixing it. So after two times in a row and refusing to make it right or to refund the order I'm definitely not going back to the Five Guys on Robinhood Rd I'll go across town to that one if I want a Five Guys burger. I treated myself to some Five Guys for a birthday lunch yesterday. There was only one guy at the register and he was on the phone taking a large call in order. No one else came up to take my order which was annoying. I expected them to be prepared for a lunch rush, and, thus to have sufficient staff. I really wanted to splurge so I got a little cheeseburger, a hot dog, and some cajun fries. It always kind of surprises me how long it takes to get your food because it seems like they are ALWAYS cooking burgers and fries. But, it's no matter when you finally get your food and taste the deliciousness. The freshness of the toppings is great. I think Five Guys has a great hot dog. I just wish they used a better bun. A five guys hot dog on a skippy's bun would be heaven. Obviously it's best to share the fries with a friend. Even the regular is WAY too many delicious cajun-seasoned fries for one individual. I love this place. When I'm craving a burger, this is my go-to. The burgers are perfect. You don't need to add a million distractions. Grab a burger with grilled onions, mayo, and American cheese, and your body will build any vitamine or nutrient you need to honor that glorious umami burger flavor. I prefer it to the over-engineered burger riddled with insecurities. They don't hide behind pimento cheese. These burgers are testaments to truth. Man, where do I begin. It's 7:30pm, i'm so hungry, all I wanted was a burger from Five Guys. I know I have plenty of time because Five Guys doesn't close until 10pm. I arrive at 7:40 and walk in, immediately a women who works there yells at me and my family and says "sorry were closing, we're not accepting walk ins" I walked out so confused, because they are supposed to close at 10pm. There were 6 people working, people eating inside, and she yells in front of everyone. I give them a call about 10 mins later, she answers, she says they are closing early, because it had "been a day". I said very respectfully, "I thought y'all closed at 10pm". She then repeated to get incredibly angry on the phone and says "i've been working all day, and we're so tired so we're closing early". Well honey, I think everyone has been working all day and all I wanted was a cheeseburger. I'm sorry that YOURE too tired to do your own job, maybe you should get a desk job??? I would almost be willing to bet their owner/operator had no clue that they closed early. I'm sorry but just because "you're tired" doesn't mean you can close the whole restaurant down 2.5 hours early. They were plenty staffed as well. So I drive to another five guys across town, they had less people working, and they were working just fine. I'm assuming it's the manager, that works at this five guys location. I called corporate and they filed a report. This chick needs to find a job that maybe she can handle, because obviously she can't handle this one. She said she had been there since 6am, but last time I checked they weren't open for breakfast. Anyways, don't waste your time on this restaurant. The Five Guys burger restaurants (two in Winston-Salem) are the very best burger joints in the area. I've eaten in several of the Washington, DC locations and one in Columbia, SC. I was thrilled to see them arrive in Winston-Salem. They have a consistent winning formula. The menu has burgers, fries, hotdogs and drinks and very few other distractions. You won't find your taco salad here. They know what they do well and they stick to it. First Good Sign: When you walk in you'll notice the pallets of sacked fresh potatoes. Just about every other place in town uses frozen pre-sliced fries. The fries are the best in town and by themselves, worth the visit to Five Guys. The regular size will satisfy two heavy eaters. (The large size will feed four) Second Good Sign: They offer free peanuts in the shell, while you wait for your order to come up. The burgers are the main attraction. This is not a fast food burger but they do serve it up quickly. You can get a small or a large with bacon and/or cheese.. The large has two patties and is substantial. They have a large selection of toppings. I like chopped jalapenos but they have all the usual stuff and more. I've had the hotdogs before and they're pretty good too. The drink sizes are small and large. Order the small since the refills are free. Come hungry and leave satisfied! read more

I am shocked that Five Guys has not been rated/reviewed yet here in Winston. I will be the first. This is one fine burger joint. Originally hailing from DC, but new to this area (WInston-Salem) there are now two restaurants to feed the masses. The one on Robinhood (this review) and the other off Hanes Mall Blvd, next to Texas Land and Cattle Steakhouse. I've seen them in Charlotte and Raleigh as well. The burgers are as good as the menu is simple. Burgers. Fries. Hotdogs. Drinks. And free peanuts. All burgers come loaded (or unloaded) with as many of the free condiments as one is willing to try. I'm a fan of grilled onions and fresh jalapenos. The regular is huge, and should satisfy all but the largest of eaters. The junior is more like a regular. Fries are fresh-cut, crispy and come heaping. A regular order will suffice for 2-3 people. I have yet to get a large order. They also come in a cajun version which is good, if that's your thing. Cons: they don't serve milkshakes. Overall, this is a very very good burger. That's two "verys", count 'em. Until I find better, this is the best burger in the area, bar none. If you haven't gone, do yourself a favor and get there soon. Oh, and one more thing. My vegetarian friend tells me the grilled cheese is good, and, paired with fries, a decent non-carnivore way to go. But I'll have to take her word for it. read more
