We tried Small Batch for the first time with some friends and they go here frequently, they all recommend the Timmichurri! I finally made it to Small Batch after having it on my list for quite awhile now. I arrived around 5pm on a Sunday so it was not busy or crowded at all. They have a mixture of normal tables, bar seating/high tops, and some long/narrow community seats which is where I sat. The bartender came over and gave me a menu and some water immediately. I took a few minutes to check out the options and decided on starting with fried dumplings, which were new according to the menu. I know their specialty is burgers so I of course got one of those too. I was really tempted to get the fat mac with bacon (and stuffed between grilled cheese buns) but I went with the smoke batch instead because I wanted some pork belly. The food came out without too long of a wait. The dumplings were okay, fried nice and crispy but not super flavorful on their own. The dipping sauces helped. The burger was cooked medium, as the menu had stated, and had a good amount of pork belly and bbq. It was a decent meal overall in an unassuming spot right in the middle of downtown Winston. Went in for dinner and drinks on a Sunday night to find out they had been out of power for 4 hours and were behind... no biggie, we were chilling-the soccer game was on. My boyfriend ordered a beer and we placed our food order. The waiter/bartender warned us there would be a wait and we were ok with that! There were maybe two or three other tables sat and 3 people seated at the bar.... Within 5-10 minutes people start trickling in for dinner and a large party of 4 sat right behind us. 1hr later we noticed the large party and all the other tables and people who trickled in after us got their food. The waiter/bartender had additional help at that point, no one had came to check on us and couldn't seem to grab anyone's attention. My boyfriend just went up to the bar to ask what's up with our food just to be told their "ordering system was down" which was not disclosed to us when we ordered and definitely felt a lie since everyone around us got their meals. Especially since they al arrived so shortly after us. Completely understand being behind, and short staffed but maybe just give a heads up to your incoming help to check on your work/tables. He asked if we wanted to wait but at that point we were super hungry and was unsure how much longer it was going to be so we asked to just close our tab. Came here back in November and forgot to review. We come to this place every year when we're in town. The location is great and within walking distance from the hotel and the convention center. I'll start off by saying the bartenders and staff are always nice, knowledgeable and always give good service! I will give a shoutout to Dora. She was pretty good! We ordered the buffalo chicken wrap with tots and the "Best Brussels" with sweet potato fries! Both dishes were very tasty and were great portion sizes. I did not leave here hungry. They also have a good selection of beers. This place has always been clean and always had good company. Depending on the time of day it can get pretty packed in there. Small but quaint place. I got the chicken taco salad and I have to say, the chicken was a little bit salty but the rest of it was delicious. My taco crisp bowl was light, airy yet buttery. I ate most of it! My son and a friend got burgers and fries. They really enjoyed it, but they were laughing at how much food they packed in these tiny small plates. Absolutely wonderful in every way!! New in town, I went downtown on a quest...a simple burger and a beer. A few missteps and side quests later, and I ended up walking into Small Batch Beer. The vibe is super down to earth. A total "come-as-you-are" spot, despite the weird-ass Retro-80s Cover Pandora Station blaring a techno "You Spin Me Right Round." Short story long, I had the Piggy Figgy Burger, dripping with meaty goodness soaked in goat cheese and thick cut, super porky bacon vibes. Extra crispy crinkle fries and a super light, delicious Belgian Wit round out exactly the meal I was questing for in the first place. Honestly, the only reason for knocking off one star on the review was the parade of employees who kept coming up to the bar to blow off thick vape clouds on their downtime. Which 1: Illegal. 2: I'm eating here (and said something, which fell on deaf ears). And 3: Gross dude. Not all of us want to suck that poison...especially while I'm eating. Indoors. This place was across from my hotel. I wondered in for a late lunch and had the Figgy Piggy burger with fries with a Hefe Vice beer. The burger has goat cheese, bacon, grilled onions and fig jam on it. The burger was divine and quite sloppy. Fries were perfect: crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. The bartender told me when I ordered the Hefe Vice beer that it was more cloudy than normal and that if I didn't like it, he would pour me something else which I thought was pretty cool. However, it was very good and I didn't want any other beer. They have approx. 8 or 19 beers on tap, various salads, appetizers and numerous burger types available. I always forget about this spot and when visit am reminded of how good it is. A friend and I went last week for late appetizers (around 9pm). It was decently busy but we're able to sit at the bar. I came here on Friday night around 7pm, parking was a challenge since it was street only and this area is busy on Friday, but found a place. The place is not that big, I am guessing it can hold around 50 or so people. I opted for a flight, four beers for $8.00...not bad and I got mostly stouts. We started with the Brussel sprouts, this were very good in a bacon balsamic sauce around $7.50 for that and it was a good serving. For me I decided on The Winston, which is a burger with pimento cheese and crumbled potato chips on top for a crunch (I have been doing that for a while at home but finally someone caught on). The burger was excellent and the cheese and chips really worked. My son got the Smoke Batch burger (Bacon, Pork Belly, Grilled Jalapenos, BBQ Sauce and cheese), he said it was the best burger he ever ate. I recommend Small Batch for sure. read more

So I have been next door to Timmy's several times, and then had a beer here afterwards but this was my first time stopping here for lunch. I had an IPA which was really a good beer, and then I'd build your own cheeseburger with American cheese and pork belly and a side of fries. Fries. The burger was very good, but the fries were some of the best fries I've had in Winston-Salem. The service was wonderful and the waiter and bartender were very prompt and friendly, and the atmosphere of this place is just wonderful. I've been here several times before and this will definitely not be the last time. I love all the breweries in Winston-Salem but this one is definitely close to the top of my list. Comes with beer cheese, honey mustard and a house sauce, all three are perfect for dipping. The chimichurri wings were good just needed a little kick. Their delicious burgers are the ultimate product of the chefs who have been given unlimited creative expression and the freedom to explore the culinary experience of craft burgers. Their burgers perfectly complement their home-brewed beers or seasonal cocktails. I got their Figgy Piggy burger, which has goat cheese, fig jam, cheddar, and bacon. I thought that this burger was the perfect manifestation of "sweet and savory". The sweet fig jam balanced out the tart goat cheese, in addition to the savory bacon and juicy burger.
