It's pretty much like canes. Chicken is fire, very good seasoning. Beats fast food chicken fingers all day.

Great portions and the chicken was delicious. We have been here a few times. I got the hot chicken last time and loved it.

I told the waitress that I wanted a Voodoo ranger and she didn't ask for a pint or large, just took off and brought back a pint. Then we order a classic Caesar salad $5.69 add Salmon $4.30 and add shrimp $4.30 with the dressing on the side and no croutons. I had a Cuban sandwich and that was the order. When they brought the Caesar salad they said they were out of Parmesan cheese. So the salad was just Romaine lettuce and salad dressing, which wasn't that good. The bill came to nearly $50 and when I looked, they charged me $16.99 for a salmon Caesar salad that was nowhere on the menu and then add a $7.99 shrimp skewer that was listed under the steak menu. I asked the waitress what was she doing, and where did she come up with the prices that weren't on the menu. I asked for a manager and this was also a nightmare. I first asked her to show me on the menu where the Salmon Caesar salad was listed and why they also changed me $7.99 for shrimp when you specifically state it's$4.30? They also stated that we couldn't double up the add on's. There was NO statement on that and NO salmon Caesar Salad on the menu. The difference from what I ordered and what they changed was $10.00. The 20+ year old manager couldn't see the difference and first offered only a $4 discount and then agreed to another $4.50 discount which still doesn't get to the $10 difference. This place was a joke, and the waitress should have stated that what I pointed out on the menu was not what she had entered in. We will NEVER visit this place again, and it was my fault for not looking at the 2.5 stars

If I could give this place ten stars, I would. You will have a wait when you get there, and you…read morewill wait no matter how long it takes. You cannot find a better place for a meal, or more kind folks running the place from top to bottom. And if your plate is too big to finish, feel free to take it home, because you'll want to save room for dessert. Magnolia 23 is a staple in our household. So long as we've lived within a 30 minute drive, it has been a great place for a Sunday lunch, or any other meal within the hours they are open. They treat you like family from the very start with the way that they take names for the line. It's natural to start a conversation with the people around you, because everyone has the same end game - a great meal. Once you're seated, it's never long before a waitress comes and takes your drink order. The menu for the day is posted on Facebook and written on the board on the wall, along with the sides and dessert options. There's no menus because it's a meat and two sides, plus a bread of either roll or cornbread. The seating is tables and chairs, although some areas have couches for seating, which is a nice change of pace. Today I got stewed beef with sides of mac and cheese, yams, and bread choice was cornbread. My other half got the country style steak, with sides of cabbage and rice with gravy, and bread of cornbread. The littles shared a fried chicken plate with side of mashed potatoes with gravy. They divided and conquered their food so fast I forgot to snag a picture of it. The stewed beef was perfection. So tender, and the juices went well with the cornbread. The yams were expertly spiced, and prepared with so much love. The mac and cheese was delicious, so I offered some to my youngest who promptly stole the rest of it. I did sample the country style steak, and it was so delicious that none was spared. I cannot wait to eat my leftover stewed beef later this week, as I knew I wanted to save room for dessert. We ordered two fried apple pies, and a slice of Hershey bar cake. Be careful with the fried pies - the filling turns into molten lava when heated, so despite the fact that you'll want to take the largest first bite, please be patient and spare your taste buds from their imminent demise by letting it cool a minute. The spices on the apple filling on the fried pies were perfect, and I savored every bite that I stole from my husband. My dessert was the Hershey bar cake, which I split with one of my littles. It didn't have a thick layer of icing, which was great. The cake had a nice crumb, and was sweet without being overly sweet. If you haven't been here yet, make sure to take note of their hours and then take a trip to Asheboro. Once you've finished your meal, feel free to take a stroll around downtown and know that you've just had the best meal around. Magnolia 23 is worth the price and worth the wait, because you will be blessed by the whole experience.

We went to arrive after the noon lunch but that didn't happen because the crowd kept coming. After throughly reading the menu I finally decided on the small plate of popcorn shrimp with a baked potato and coleslaw. Since it was my first time i wanted make sure the dish was good, and it was! When our order was delivered the oval plate was piled at least 3 inches high. I had asked for an extra plate to put the potato on so I would be able to prepare it for eating without pushing the shrimp off the plate and am I glad I did because the plate was so full I would have had to eat most of the shrimp. I was also impressed that while there was a large crowd, we were seated immediately and our orders were taken and served in a timely manner. During the short wait I saw that the staff jumped on a table to clean as soon as the guests walked away from the table. And the noise level was low and we could carry on a conversation without yelling. As an afterthought, maybe it was quiet because everyone was eat the great food. As we were leaving I saw a server bring out the regular size plate and almost fell over. It was on a round plate that looked to be 11 to 12 inches and loaded 2 or 3 inches high. As much as I can eat, I doubt I could have eaten all that! Great food, service, ambiance, what more can you ask for. I will be back soon.

They barely had any taste and oh my god the hush puppies were god awful, they were drenched in low quality oil and even an hour later I can still feel my throat coated in it and it is the most horrific after taste I've ever had in my life. My stomach instantly turned after eating it, my mom agreed it was atrocious. I highly recommend staying away from this place it's absolutely trash.
