The family and I decided try this new spot based on facebook suggestions. Restaurant sits right on Sunset Ave in downtown Asheboro beside Taco Loco. This restaurant has been open since December. Upon walking in you are greeted by their nice staff. The smell makes me think of an old building smell and I didn't really smell any food. Carpet is worn and could use some replacing, or better yet just make concrete like the entrance. (In my honest opinion carpet doesn't belong in restaurants!) Decor/seating could use a little updating. Menu has a little bit of everything from subs, and pasta, to Honduran specialties like empanadas and more. I liked the selection. We received complimentary garlic knots with marinara that were delicious! I decided to try the baked spaghetti with meat sauce. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't outstanding either. The noodles weren't drained so my dish was drowning in liquid. My husband and daughter decided to try the cheese burgers with fries. We were disappointed to find the burgers were thin frozen patties. My daughter couldn't eat hers because it was thin and chewy and no flavor. The fries are frozen too and not cooked the greatest. My husband bought the Texas burger which came with barbecue sauce and bacon. His was a thin patty as well. The sauce is what gave it flavor. We really wanted to like this spot. We just weren't blown away. Staff was great, food not so much. Might come back and try Honduran food just to see if that is better.

Found this little spot downtown Asheboro~ Atmosphere is plain but the food makes up for it! They offer America, Italian, & Mexican food...plenty on the menu & family size portions! Definitely try to garlic knots & the cinnamon knots! Staff was so nice as well. Definitely would go back! Casual dress for lunch & dinner/drinks~

I always order the fluffy on GF with no cheese, and he always orders the Italian on GF with no cheese. There is cross contamination, so if you are celiac, you can ask them to change gloves, use a clean knife, and keep your sandwich away from the others. We have almost never received the correct order without cheese the first time, but they don't make a fuss when asked to remake the sandwiches, and they are very apologetic. These sandwiches are generous with the meat and other fillings, and the pizza-crust-as-bread works so well. We also get their delicious potato salad with our sandwiches. The seating area is not huge, maybe ten tables, but we've never had to wait for one, and we often take our order to go. The restaurant is clean, and parking is fairly convenient. Even with the issue of having to remake sandwiches, I still rate Blake's a solid five star. It's consistently delicious, and I like supporting a small business in my home community.

The actual sandwiches are tasty and light, the bread is like a pita bread which was good. The service and staff were very nice, the food just wasn't very impressive.

Seeing the…read morecontinuing transformation of downtown Asheboro is truly a wonderful thing, and the Flying Pig has been a long term part of that. This is a great local watering hole which also has great food to boot. We stopped in for a small bite and some drinks on a pretty fall day and the bartender was super friendly - willing to help us by making anything we wanted.

The place has a very interesting and quirky vibe. I really loved all the pig art and sports decor around the place. They also have a few TVs so it was nice to have a chance to catch up and watch some NFL games. I love trying random things and have never heard of fish dogs before so I had to try those. Overall it was really good. I love the sauce that it came with and the fish was very crispy. The buns could've been a little bit softer but it wasn't a deal breaker. The seasoned fries also had a really good cajun seasoning on them. The only thing better than the food was the service. Out server was also pretty quirky in the best way possible. She had a very happy and welcoming vibe. She was extremely nice and attentive throughout the meal and made sure we had everything we needed.
