6oz Filet with Mashed Sweet Potatoes and Green Beans
    Colten G.

Both of us wanted a good steak and we saw that Hamilton's Steakhouse was the #1 rated steakhouse in Asheboro, so we decided to try it out. Most things were awesome, while just a few things needed improvement. The ambiance is casual with a bit of an upscale vibe. If you're wearing a T-shirt, you'll be fine. We both ordered the 6oz filet. My grandmother's steak seemed to be cooked alright while mine was undercooked. I asked for my filet medium rare (warm red center), and instead received it rare (cool dark red center). I am picky with how I like my steak cooked, and this made it a bit unenjoyable trying to eat my steak. However, their sides are great. Their fresh green beans are seasoned well and aren't mushy and mashed sweet potatoes are like a dessert (so good)! The Gouda bacon Mac and cheese is great as well, and the house salad has such fresh ingredients, and plenty of it! While the service was fine, their friendliness seemed a bit forced and less sincere. The food does come out pretty fast, so you won't have to wait too long.

    Tomahawk steak

We were just driving through and found this place. It's a hidden gem for sure. Honestly, the best meal I've had maybe ever. We had the stuffed mushrooms, sweet & spicy meatballs, tomahawk ribeye, beef Wellington, and dark chocolate truffle cake, as well as some wonderful cocktails. It was all superb. It was so difficult to decided what to get, but our server Makayla was such a pro at recommendations and a real sweetheart. Thank you for such a lovely evening. We hope to be traveling through again one day and will make sure to put this on our itinerary!

    Tomahawk Ribeye!

I got the Tomahawk ribeye. It was delicious and so full of flavor and cooked perfectly! We also tried the delicious potato skins and fresh bread!! The service was excellent and the ambiance just as good! Highly recommend coming here!

    Beef Carpaccio

I'm new to the area and have been visiting places based on advice from the locals. After hearing many people recommend this place, thought I would drop in for lunch. I started with a glass of Pinot Grigio and a Caesar Side Salad. The salad was overloaded with grated cheese and croutons. The croutons were the tiny, cheap, cubed type that you buy at the grocery store. The dressing tasted store bought as well. Not horrible but just not what I would expect from the recommendations I had received. I would recommend using homemade croutons and dressing and less grated cheese. I then ordered the Beef Carpaccio as my meal and it came out served with slices of French baguette that were not toasted or even freshly baked bread. It was cold. The beef, however, was delicious. Sliced thin and served with a very light caper and olive oil sauce, then topped with some arugula and Parmesan cheese. Very traditional, basic carpaccio. If I were the chef, I'd rethink the presentation of this dish by mixing the oil and caper sauce with the arugula together to make a true salad and add a hint of red wine vinegar, some lemon juice, finely sliced shallots and fresh cracked pepper. Top the beef with the salad, drizzle the beef with more of the dressing, grate FRESH Parmesan cheese on top instead of using store bought shredded cheese, top with micro greens, and use crostini instead of sliced cold baguette to elevate this dish to meet its price point. Service was decent, though it felt like rushed diner/cafe service instead of professional. The ambiance was just ok too. I've been in better chain steak houses. Maybe I had too high of expectations based on the recommendations. This place does have a lot of potential, but not worth the price when they are not using quality ingredients. For the area, it is one of the better restaurants. Asheboro is lacking.

My family went to Hamilton's on Sunday for my nephew's birthday. He loves a good filet and he's only 12. The staff was pretty friendly and the restaurant was nice. I had the Wedge salad which was delicious and the Crab Stuffed Salmon on rice. There wasn't much rice, about a third of a cup and the salmon was dry. I was disappointed. My nephew and husband were pleased with their filets, mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes. They also serve rolls but only gave us 4 rolls for 9 people. We had to slice the rolls so everyone could get some. It would be better if they had loaves like Longhorn Steakhouse. I hope this review helps someone.

My husband and I have always gone here for our anniversary for several years now. I must say the steak I asked for med well was burnt on the outside and raw in the middle. And my lobster tail was tiny for 20$ and raw in the middle. Service was good. I must say our waitress was very attentive, and polite. My mojito was tolerable but definitely bottom shelf. Sad to see the quality and portions have declined since last year.

Absolutely loved this place. Happened upon it because it was the right distance for a stop on our road trip and was dog friendly. They weren't too busy for lunch outside given it was 90+ degrees out so we had the whole patio (which is fenced) and the dogs were able to just chillax, they even brought us a dog bowl and there is a spicket right there! The food was just as good as the hospitality and they had an amazing lunch special of a 1/2 sandwich and 1/2 salad which we each got in some combination. The Caesar salad was tasty and perfectly dressed. My French dip was delicious as was my husbands reuban and daughters BLT. I would definitely stop again if I find myself nearby.

I ordered the shrimp and corn while my husband got the crab cakes. Some places are mostly filling with hints of crab, Full Moon was the opposite--maximum amount of crab with the right amount of "cake". The shrimp was great and perfectly steamed. The corn came out piping hot! The service was fantastic. The seating is mostly bar tops which is cool and allows for the service to be seamless. Honestly it felt like a beach vacation on a Tuesday. We went to arrive after the noon lunch but that didn't happen because the crowd kept coming. After throughly reading the menu I finally decided on the small plate of popcorn shrimp with a baked potato and coleslaw. Since it was my first time i wanted make sure the dish was good, and it was! When our order was delivered the oval plate was piled at least 3 inches high. I had asked for an extra plate to put the potato on so I would be able to prepare it for eating without pushing the shrimp off the plate and am I glad I did because the plate was so full I would have had to eat most of the shrimp. I was also impressed that while there was a large crowd, we were seated immediately and our orders were taken and served in a timely manner. During the short wait I saw that the staff jumped on a table to clean as soon as the guests walked away from the table. And the noise level was low and we could carry on a conversation without yelling. As an afterthought, maybe it was quiet because everyone was eat the great food. It's still open and running because either the food is good or they give huge portions. I came in after lunch but before dinner so there were not many people inside. The lunch rush was gone and the restaurant appeared to have all of the tables cleaned off and chairs put back neatly, ready for their dinner rush. I ordered the Friday lunch special of Baby White Fish with French Fries and Cole Slaw. It also came with hush puppies. Ordered malt vinegar on the side. I was pleasantly surprised. The sweet tea was good. The portions are huge and the fish was perfectly cooked, thick and meaty yet flaky. Their batter is perfectly seasoned and gives a great crunch. Their cole slaw was good, tasted fresh. The hush puppies were good. I've had better and I've had a lot of bad ones but these were good. The French fries...well they were not in the fryer long enough. Service was good. Staff was attentive and got my food to the table hot. If the fries had been cooked until crispy, I would have given them 4 stars. Not for the restaurant itself, but for the food. Why is this place still open? It has good food AND large portions and the food comes out hot. People are not coming here for the ambiance. But I couldn't give them 5 stars because of the slow service. When our tea and water we had had plenty of time to chose our food. I chose chicken LoMien and Crab Wontons for an appetizer. My wife picked the sesame chicken with rice and an egg roll. Our son's girlfriend chose fried Rice with pot stickers as an appetizer and our son had fried rice with chicken and spring rolls as an appetizer..Now is when the waiting period started. It took two people to bring our tea and water. After awhile a server brought out our son's spring rolls and my wife's egg roll. The a different server brought out my crab wontons.A few minutes later the dumplings found its way to our table. Now as I stated right from the get go the appetizer's were delicious and piping hot with a very good dipping sauce. My wife mentioned right off her egg roll was delicious and she's very fond of egg rolls. Instead of bringing our meal out on a tray it came out one plate at a time. When we Finally had our food sitting on the table I basically could have eaten most of mine before my son who was the last to receive his.Now again the food was delicious. No complaints from any of the four of us.As we were eating a party of 6 was beside us it was the same thing. I kept telling my son who has a culinary degree that I smell chicken wings. He would look at me sorta weird like. Well with that being said. Slowly their appetizers started coming out. Several had some bowls of soup. The Bowles were a good size. But just like my nose was telling me one in that group had an appetizer of some really good looking chicken wings. I know on my next trip I will definitely be trying those good looking wings. But now back to our experience. The servings were a nice proportion. The food was excellent. The service was slow. It was 2:15 when we were paying our bill and waiting out the door.So basically we were there over an hour and a half. It's almost as though each dish was cooked one at a time. A person dropping by fro lunch may be pushed for time. Again the food and Appetizers were excellent. The tab was just a bit over $93.00 dollars. I hate I forgot to take a picture of the delicious appetizers.

Then we order a classic Caesar salad $5.69 add Salmon $4.30 and add shrimp $4.30 with the dressing on the side and no croutons. I had a Cuban sandwich and that was the order. When they brought the Caesar salad they said they were out of Parmesan cheese. So the salad was just Romaine lettuce and salad dressing, which wasn't that good. The bill came to nearly $50 and when I looked, they charged me $16.99 for a salmon Caesar salad that was nowhere on the menu and then add a $7.99 shrimp skewer that was listed under the steak menu. I asked the waitress what was she doing, and where did she come up with the prices that weren't on the menu. I asked for a manager and this was also a nightmare. I first asked her to show me on the menu where the Salmon Caesar salad was listed and why they also changed me $7.99 for shrimp when you specifically state it's$4.30? They also stated that we couldn't double up the add on's. There was NO statement on that and NO salmon Caesar Salad on the menu. The difference from what I ordered and what they changed was $10.00. The 20+ year old manager couldn't see the difference and first offered only a $4 discount and then agreed to another $4.50 discount which still doesn't get to the $10 difference.
