We've been a couple times within the past few months and every time we leave pleased with our meals. The bread is to die for! It's only available at dinner which is a bummer for those visiting at lunch time! My favorite is the filet with mashed sweet potatoes. The filet has been perfect and juicy each time, served with flaky sea salt. The mashed sweet potatoes are insanely good! My husband has tried the chicken and artichokes dinner as well as a ribeye. Both he enjoyed and the artichokes are a great appetizer. Dessert wise we love the bananas foster! Save room for dessert. Service wise we've had great experiences every time. The servers are attentive without being overwhelming so you can enjoy your meal and a nice conversation. read more

I'm new to the area and have been visiting places based on advice from the locals. After hearing many people recommend this place, thought I would drop in for lunch. I started with a glass of Pinot Grigio and a Caesar Side Salad. The salad was overloaded with grated cheese and croutons. The croutons were the tiny, cheap, cubed type that you buy at the grocery store. The dressing tasted store bought as well. Not horrible but just not what I would expect from the recommendations I had received. I would recommend using homemade croutons and dressing and less grated cheese. I then ordered the Beef Carpaccio as my meal and it came out served with slices of French baguette that were not toasted or even freshly baked bread. It was cold. The beef, however, was delicious. Sliced thin and served with a very light caper and olive oil sauce, then topped with some arugula and Parmesan cheese. Very traditional, basic carpaccio. If I were the chef, I'd rethink the presentation of this dish by mixing the oil and caper sauce with the arugula together to make a true salad and add a hint of red wine vinegar, some lemon juice, finely sliced shallots and fresh cracked pepper. Top the beef with the salad, drizzle the beef with more of the dressing, grate FRESH Parmesan cheese on top instead of using store bought shredded cheese, top with micro greens, and use crostini instead of sliced cold baguette to elevate this dish to meet its price point. Service was decent, though it felt like rushed diner/cafe service instead of professional. The ambiance was just ok too. I've been in better chain steak houses. Maybe I had too high of expectations based on the recommendations. This place does have a lot of potential, but not worth the price when they are not using quality ingredients. For the area, it is one of the better restaurants. Asheboro is lacking. read more

Most things were awesome, while just a few things needed improvement. The ambiance is casual with a bit of an upscale vibe. If you're wearing a T-shirt, you'll be fine. We both ordered the 6oz filet. My grandmother's steak seemed to be cooked alright while mine was undercooked. I asked for my filet medium rare (warm red center), and instead received it rare (cool dark red center). I am picky with how I like my steak cooked, and this made it a bit unenjoyable trying to eat my steak. However, their sides are great. Their fresh green beans are seasoned well and aren't mushy and mashed sweet potatoes are like a dessert (so good)! The Gouda bacon Mac and cheese is great as well, and the house salad has such fresh ingredients, and plenty of it! While the service was fine, their friendliness seemed a bit forced and less sincere. The food does come out pretty fast, so you won't have to wait too long. read more

We were just driving through and found this place. It's a hidden gem for sure. Honestly, the best meal I've had maybe ever. We had the stuffed mushrooms, sweet & spicy meatballs, tomahawk ribeye, beef Wellington, and dark chocolate truffle cake, as well as some wonderful cocktails. It was all superb. It was so difficult to decided what to get, but our server Makayla was such a pro at recommendations and a real sweetheart. Thank you for such a lovely evening. My family went to Hamilton's on Sunday for my nephew's birthday. He loves a good filet and he's only 12. The staff was pretty friendly and the restaurant was nice. I had the Wedge salad which was delicious and the Crab Stuffed Salmon on rice. There wasn't much rice, about a third of a cup and the salmon was dry. I was disappointed. My nephew and husband were pleased with their filets, mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes. They also serve rolls but only gave us 4 rolls for 9 people. We had to slice the rolls so everyone could get some. It would be better if they had loaves like Longhorn Steakhouse. I hope this review helps someone. read more

This was our second visit to Hamilton steakhouse. It is a dark leathery, classic steakhouse appearing place. Very comfortable booths. Very friendly and informative service. The first time I was there, I had a steak which was flavorful, tender, and perfectly cooked. This time I had the pork chop, which was not as good, somewhat dry. Absolutely loved this place. Happened upon it because it was the right distance for a stop on our road trip and was dog friendly. They weren't too busy for lunch outside given it was 90+ degrees out so we had the whole patio (which is fenced) and the dogs were able to just chillax, they even brought us a dog bowl and there is a spicket right there! The food was just as good as the hospitality and they had an amazing lunch special of a 1/2 sandwich and 1/2 salad which we each got in some combination. The Caesar salad was tasty and perfectly dressed. My French dip was delicious as was my husbands reuban and daughters BLT. I would definitely stop again if I find myself nearby. read more

Last night was our second time to Hamilton's and it was OUTSTANDING! My Mom has several food allergies and our server did a phenomenal job of listening to the details and ensuring she was able to have a delicious and safe meal. The tomahawk was incredible! 10/10 the best steak we've ever had. Literally everything we had was delicious. I love their spinach, fresh and still had a little crunch. Chefs kiss! Certainly the best steakhouse in Randolph County. The restaurant has high back booths and it's nice to feel the privacy they provide. The service was good, the waitress seemed knowledgeable about the menu choices and drinks but never brought the bread. The Mahi Mahi had a hollandaise sauce which was slightly bland but the fish itself was good. The Shrimp Scampi and Steak tasted great. However the steak was served without any frills and the plating looked basic, the Mahi Mahi did also. The Banana Foster was really a nice ending and enough to share! The best steakhouses are the locally owned ones and don't find locally owned steakhouses much anymore. Hamilton's is a throwback to those great local steakhouses. They are known for their 50 oz. Tomahawk Ribeye, though I've never known anyone to actually order one. I had their 12 oz Ribeye and it was great for me. Everyone loved their steaks which were cooked perfectly. The sides are rather amazing as well. I especially recommend the homemade mashed potatoes and gravy although the Bacon, Gouda, Macaroni and Cheese was pretty awesome as well. You have to save room for dessert! Seriously, get the Bananas Foster. The four of us shared one and it capped off a great dinner. The ambiance is definitely a steakhouse vibe. It's very cute outside with the blooming flower pots. Inside is mostly a dark brown wood. There's a nice fireplace in the back of one of he dining rooms. The booths are high back, so that gives each table a nice amount of privacy. The menu has a lot of nice choices. Since I was there for lunch, I only ordered from that menu. Our waitress was very helpful and personable. We never had to ask for anything. I ordered the half sandwich and potato soup special and my friend ordered the tomato bisque soup and wedge salad. It was a hard choice for the soups because we both like each type offered. We tasted the other's before trying our own. Mine was the best!! The tomato bisque flavor was good, but it was not hot as you'd expect a soup to be. The shaved parmesan NEVER melted. That's not normal for a "hot soup". My potato soup was very hot and delicious. I chose the half chicken-a-plao with chips. It was wonderful!!!! From this experience, I gave them 4 stars because of the cool soup. I would return again if in the area. read more

Hamilton's Steakhouse is located in Downtown Asheboro. Reservations were advised but I chanced it without a reservation and I was able to dine there. The restaurant requires masks to be worn to enter and the staff was wearing them as well. Tables were distanced as well. I felt like I was in a good place with the 99 sanitation score. My waitress was friendly and attentive. I ordered the filet mignon; asparagus; and a baked potato. Warm bread was brought to the table and the butter just melted on it so I think it was freshly baked. My steak was cooked to order and delicious. I was pleased with my food. Then I had cheesecake for dessert. I liked my food so well that I wanted to eat here again as I wanted to try the carrot cake and there are so many tempting menu items to try. But they were closed the rest of my stay. They have brunch as well so I might need to take another road trip. read more

I got the NY strip with bacon gooda mac and cheese, and a Cesar salad. Well the steak tasted great, but 40% was fat, the Mac and cheese has no flavor except the bacon. I only gave it four stars because neither my husband nor my daughter liked their dinners. I have no idea why. I believe one of them sent their dinner back for some reason. We stopped by Hamilton's on a quiet Sunday after a long day at the High Point Furniture Market. No reservation, we were promptly seated by their friendly hostess. Dining room is large, the booths well spaced - a nice quiet atmosphere for either a business dinner or date night. I've never had a martini served over ice in a cocktail glass, but none the less it was tasty and COLD - maybe my directions threw them off. Portobello palletizer was fantastic. Huge portion, big enough for 2. Caesar salad was standard fair - good size. We both had the 16oz. Ribeye - cooked perfectly, the Steak was very tender and super tasty. I prefer grilled on an open flame, Hamilton cooks their steaks in a pan - that is my only ding. The cobbler desert is really good. This was a great restaurant to go to on our visit to Asheboro. We came on a Thursday night around 6pm and we were seated immediately. Our waiter was excellent! He was attentive, made friendly conversation, and educated us on the menu and recommendations for our next visit as well. We ordered the 12 oz ribeye with a wedge salad and Mac and cheese, and a 6oz filet with a wedge salad and Mac n cheese. The steaks we ordered were medium rare and cooked exactly that, good flavor and not a long wait. The Mac n cheese was so filling I couldn't even finish it, it was a big portion! The wedge salads were great. The bleu cheese dressing and crumbles which normally I find overpowering at other restaurants, was the perfect taste. Went do dinner here with my husband on a Monday at 6 PM. When you walk in, it is dimly lit and spacious. Wood beams and a beautiful fireplace towards the back near the Kitchen. It has a slight romantic and rustic ambiance. Our server was Emily , she was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Refills were on the money and she was very sweet overall. Considering she was a newer server , we were impressed. The food. Started with Loaded Potato Skins as an appetizer and they are like any traditional skins, just a bit crispier. 8/10 (Add pepper , it'll help.) My husband and I both ordered the Beef Wellington. (They suggest that you order the Wellington and Prime Rib/Ribeyes ahead of time.) You get two sides with your meal and there are additions that you can add to your meal for an up charge. I ordered sweet potato mash and sautéed spinach, as well as an extra side of mushrooms along with a crab cake. The charge for the crab cake was not worth it , to me personally. It was smaller than a hockey puck and it was $7. IT WAS GOOD THOUGH! I just expected a bigger portion. Don't expect a Gordon Ramsey Beef Welly if it is your first time trying one because the steak was wrapped in only prosciutto I believe and the pastry, that is all. It did not include the chopped ground seasoned mushrooms on the inside. I will say that it was cooked Medium how we asked for, the pastry was crisp and flakey. I would say 6/10 in flavor however. It needed more seasoning to the steak , I would say maybe just some salt and pepper would have sufficed. I just think considering each plate is $49 , I was expecting more of a wow factor but it was still good! Paired with a glass of Moscato for $6.50 , not sure what the brand was but it was tasteful! Overall, I would give the place one more chance and maybe try something else on the menu. I look forward to my next visit! read more
