Just had dinner there and what a great experience! We're traveling from SC to NC for a long weekend and was looking for somewhere to stop along the way and found this place. They close at 8pm and we walked in at 7:47. We were going to take it to go to not inconvenience the staff. They insisted that we eat inside. SUPER nice staff, very attentive. Food was DELICIOUS, talked to who we believe was the manager, he brought us banana pudding, 2 brownies on the house to try and we walked out of there with our bellies full! Once again, my wife and I found ourselves driving around the Thomasville area and our online map brought up BBQ Joes (check out my review on Terry House BBQ too). First time driving up to the joint and I was impressed with the building aesthetics. Not sure how long it's been here, but it looked new. Spacious parking lot and clean exterior. I'll call the service here Chick-Fil-A style: order your food, take a seat, and they'll bring it out to you. Having never been here before, we were struggling with what to get so we asked the counter staff for their recommendations, and they were gracious in telling us some options, portion size, suggested sides, etc. I ended up ordering the regular-sized chopped BBQ sandwich with red slaw on top, and my wife got the senior special of the same, which is a smaller portion of the BBQ and slaw. The dining room was very clean and because we were eating mid-afternoon we had our choice of seats. Our meals were promptly brought out to us and they looked great. My BBQ burger was overflowing with meat and slaw, and the bun did its job keeping everything together without getting soggy. Looking over at my wife's burger, and I could see that I would have been fine with the senior portion as well. 2 thumbs up! read more

Outstanding Pulled Pork, Brunswick Stew, and Hush Puppies. The best I've had off I-85, I-77, and I-40 between Charlotte, Statesville, and Durham. I have tried over 20+ establishments. We've been there well over a dozen times, every time we pass through on I-85, on the way to Duke University in Durham. Our favorites are the Pulled Pork Sliders, Sandwiches, Hushpuppies, and Brunswick Stew. We also take a lb of pulled pork home and freeze it. Even the sauce is excellent. Prices are very reasonable and servings are generous. The service is friendly and consistent. Ambience is country, music is never loud, with large screen TVs for viewing. We were looking to grab some food in the Trinity area before heading home. We did a quick search and saw BBQ Joes has two locations nearby, one in High Point and one in Trinity. The Trinity location has slightly higher Yelp reviews so we read a few of them and noticed many of our Yelp Elite connections recommend and that was enough for us. We arrived about 3pm on a Saturday afternoon. The location is easy to find and convenient to the highway. Located in a stand alone building with plenty of parking. We also noticed they have an additional parking lot which would make it easy for those with trailers, RV's, etc. Both the interior and exterior appear to be well maintained and we were immediately impressed. We approached the counter and were greeted by a young man. He provided us menus to look over and we also noted there is a wall mounted menu which is easy to read. I decided on my typical BBQ order, a pulled pork sandwich with no slaw. I chose Mac n cheese as my side with a bottled water. My wife chose the brisket platter with sweet potato casserole and green beans, the platters also come with hush puppies. We were provided a number for our table and took a seat. While we waited for our food we both used the restroom and both were clean and well stocked. We also couldn't help but notice at least two employees who were deep cleaning the high chairs and garbage can receptacles, it was impressive to see employees going the extra mile! Our food arrived quickly and looked incredibly tasty. My wife noticed she was given baked beans instead of green beans and the young lady who brought our food was quick to bring an order of the green beans. Neither my wife nor I are baked beans people so we just left them on the plate. Of course, my camera ate first and after I took a few pics we dug in. Each and every bite was delicious! The meats were cooked beautifully and the sides were all yummy. We were finishing up and my wife had a decent amount of the brisket left and decided to order an additional half pound of chopped brisket to add to her salads for work throughout the week. She also ordered herself another side of sweet potato casserole and a Mac n cheese for me for lunch at work. A great experience! We will definitely be back and highly recommend to others. read more

Came here due to the high Yelp rating and had high expectations that weren't quite met unfortunately... The Real Good: The Counter staff was delightful! Very friendly. The Good: The restaurant itself is modern, clean. A nice place to have a meal for sure! The OK: The food. Unfortunately the food is the most important bit and it was just, uh, meh. I had the sliced brisket. Received three fairly large slices. But it just missed the mark. It was just dry. Flavor was just ok. The sauce didn't help things much. Just underwhelming brisket. The sides weren't much better. The Mac and Cheese was a no effort affair on their part I'm afraid. Was not much better than boxed Kraft in my opinion. And the mashed potatoes seemed "old" and the gravy was "tired". Nothing was bad, just not popping and on that basis I give it three stars. read more

Had a late lunch here recently during a road trip. Easy access off I-85. Exit 106, if I remember correctly. My BBQ tray was very good and the portions were generous. Only thing I did not like about the place was they had Fox News playing on the TV in the dining room. I was sitting on the other side so did not have to tolerate it, but playing Fox News in the dining room is normally a deal breaker for me. If I had seen it when I walked in I would not have turned around and left without spending any money here. Restaurants that blatantly advertise their political views like this are at risk of alienating half of their potential customers. Maybe these guys already have all the revenue they can handle. I imagine plenty of the local customers are ok with Fox on the boob tube, but would they return to patronize the joint of you had Rachel Maddow / MSNBC on all day? Best thing is to be neutral. read more

Needed a quick lunch, and this place filled the bill. This area is really starved for good places to eat, and I would say stop by here for a good sandwich. I had the sliced brisket sandwich- came on a plan bun with decent enough coleslaw ...it was good. Nothing outstanding, but service was fast and friendly. They serve Pepsi products, which I'm not a fan of- so there is always ice tea to drink. read more

This place is absolutely terrible!!! I should have known when we pulled in and the parking lot wasn't full at 6:30 on a Friday night. I been here before ordered 1/4 chicken plate it was cold the last time, thought I'd give them another chance. I ordered it again this time the server told me they don't have 1/4 bbq chicken ,they have rotisserie chicken and you can put your on cold BBQ sauce on it. Well same thing chicken was not even room temp, it was way over cooked mushy and dry. I don't know how this place has such a high review, I think they pay for good reviews. They have to. There was a cook that had a huge beard with no hair net, The cashier couldn't even tell me about the menu, she couldn't even figure out my change. Bill was $19.01 I gave her $ 20.01 and she locked up. I had to tell her she owed me a dollar back, and she still had to do the math on the register! This place is Trash! I was passing through this part of the world and while I wasn't able to meet up with Erik, Mister Yelp Greensboro Community Manager himself, he suggested I stop at BBQ Joe's for lunch. There's nothing as good as a live recommendation from a local so I stopped at BBQ Joe's for lunch. It looks like maybe it used to be a fast food place as far as the structure goes but this isn't fast food. I had a BBQ plate, pulled pork with white slaw and green beans. It was fantastic! Big hunks of moist pork, good portions of those sides which were clearly made in house and a side of the Joe's sauce that was great. The meat didn't need the sauce, but I put some on and it it kicked it up a notch. This is good stuff. The restaurant is clean, the service was friendly and the price was right. BBQ Joe's is only a very short detour of the interstate and well worth it for a great meal. Yes, they do carry out and drive through too. And I have yet to spend more than 5 mins picking up my food. I have yet to dine-in but I've picked up my order inside and it's very cute, quaint, hometown vibe. Prices are great too. I normally get the kids meal as a chopped sandwich with sauce and hush puppies are my go-to. Idk anywhere you can get a full belly under $10 anymore, and they have a drive thru! I just went there a couple minutes ago o m g I ordered a chicken filet sandwich with lettuce tomato and onion (the combo ) the sandwich was so juicy and so delicious the fries that I didn't know where there, They were so crispy so good, so soft in the inside and it comes in a big portion bag (like a McDonald's L fries )everything was fresh . A friend moved in near this place recently and we hadn't tried Joes. Tonight I went through the drivethru and picked up BBQ for 2 plus some Banana pudding. Perfect dinner for 2 under $10. I was impressed. The BBQ was tasty, served with two fresh burger buns, slaw and sauce. We each made a nice large sandwich with enough left over for lunch tomorrow. The one positive thing I can say about this place is that they give you a ton of food for the money. But I really don't think the barbecue is all that great. It's actually pretty bland with very little if any smoke flavor. They do give you some barbecue sauce which helps to give it a little bit of flavor. Also their mac and cheese is bland and taste like it came out of a can. I do like the sweet potato casserole however, it is really good and I would come here just to get that. The people that work here really friendly, and there might be other options other than barbecue that are good I just haven't tried anything other than the barbecue. read more

Hardly any flavor at all. Slaw was really bland - we had to really look as it seems like just chopped cabbage without any dressing. I found my myself in this neck of the woods -- it was literally all by itself. I went through the drive thru window to order 1/2 pound of brisket because that's all I wanted. Holy! That was some amazing brisket! It was worth the $8-9 price tag for the quality and quantity. I was impressed! This piece of meat was smoke inside out with so much flavor.
