They have a great selection of baked goods, and a frozen foods section where you can find a wide variety of items to make your meal prep easier. We stopped in recently and I was amazed at all of the locally sourced bakery items, cakes and pies of all kinds and a really nice assortment of canned and jarred items from jellies and jams to pickled veggies of all kinds. There is a large selection of seasonal goods as well, spring, summer, fall and winter. The inventory is always changing with the seasons. A cool little country store and well worth a visit. The owners are friendly and kind, the staff were all helpful. 3.5 Stars rounded up for all of the fresh baked goods 01074

In addition to items such as hand painted gourds, jams, jellies, home and garden décor, Christmas ornaments, etc., etc. they also have food items brought in by local farmers, bakers and growers. Just some of the options include Moravian Chicken Pies & Quiche, Lasagna and Pot Roast Pies, Local Sausage and Country Ham, Desserts, and Local Honey. We spoke to the owner and he said they have owned it for 23 years. It has a very cozy, down home feel and I can imagine that over the course of the year the offerings change depending on the time of year. We will absolutely be back.

There's never a bad time for a stroll through the Triad Farmers Market,…read morebut the heat of summer is going to treat you to a bevy of vegetables like you would not believe. You'll find the freshest picked everything, from cucumbers to tomatoes and all points between. The market is fully covered, providing some much needed shade, and there are some permanent vendors that have an indoor facility such as an ice cream parlor, candy and fudge, general store, etc. There are full bathroom facilities on site, and even a restaurant called the Moose Cafe at the back which served southern favorites. Of course, what is offered depends on the season. You'll find a bounty of selections starting in late spring, through the summer, and into the fall. In the winter, produce starts to become more sparse, but there is no shortage of places to buy your Christmas tree if you celebrate with one of those. Best advice is to bring cash, but many vendors can take a card these days. You may get charged a little extra for using plastic in some spots though, and to help with these folks margins, cash is preferable.

We were given samples of a few different apples from the orchard while we were given instructions. We took a 5 minute hayride down to the section of apples that we would be selecting from. I'm not sure if we had come at the end or close to the end of the season but the apples that were available weren't the best. After apple picking, we took the ride back to the entrance where we shopped in the Apple Barn. The cider (non alcoholic) slushie was delicious. My favorite part of my entire time was eating the cider donuts. Made fresh and they melt in your mouth. We also visited the Cider House. They have a small selection of hard cider, other beverages, & a small selection of food. I do wish they had more options for folks that can't have dairy or don't eat pork. Overall experience was cute and the staff were friendly. If you plan on doing any of the picking from any of the orchards you can be cute but be comfy. It's a working orchard so there will be hay, dirt, bugs, etc.

You have to purchase tickets online (no on-site sales) and it's $18.95 pp which gives you access to the apple orchard, apple tasting, hayride to the orchard, cider pressing demonstration with a fresh cider sample and access to the catch and release fishing pond. They suggest that you bring your own pole and bait. You also get to sample an apple cider slushee which was refreshing after being in the sun picking apples. If you want to pick apples, it's an additional cost based on whether you want a 1/4 peck or 1/2 peck. You have to purchase that when you purchase your event ticket. The apples that they had available were Granny Smith, Golden Delicious, Fuji and a really tart apple that's good for baking (I forget the name of the apple). They also have Arkansas Black apples but they weren't ready for picking yet. We had a great time picking apples. We're from South Florida where you only see apples in the grocery store. There's a play area for the kids to run around and play. It's a fun activity, especially if you have kids.
