They have such a great selection of produce and breads. I really can't resist this place. The prices are pretty good. If you need to make a charcuterie board, this is the place to go. Bring your own bags or purchase some of their reusable bags located near the registers. The one thing that causes me stress is checking out. There is usually only one cashier open. They have at least 5 or more lanes and typically the one is open near the self checkout. They have most of the self checkouts open now, but it can be hectic, because if something goes wrong the one cashier has to stop to help. Today, there was a new person training on the one register and her trainer was helping the self checkout. I was patient with the cashier, because she was nice. The self checkout can be stressful because people with large qualities of groceries use the checkout, so you have to wait. You can only imagine the chaos when you are dealing with people who are not use to the technology or are unable to scan their items properly. Even with these first world frustrations, I like this store. It is usually clean and has a unique variety of products. Consider the time you come, BYOB (bring your own bags) and have a little patience. read more

Lidl has been my good to grocery store for a couple of years now. It's a much smaller store than a lot of their competitors, but also much lower and more consistent price points. The European grocery based chain keeps things simple, mostly only offering the "store brand" for nearly all items, with exceptions to some things, it makes it much easier for to get in and out, with less frustration and ore money in your pocket. As I mentioned walking down the aisles you won't be inundated with 10 brands of the same pasta, soup, ice cream, etc, it allows them to keep a smaller store, meaning lower rent, and more savings, yes you may still need to stop at other stores to pick up a few specialty items, but I can generally get 95% of the items on my list in one stop. By far one of my favorite grocery stores. Smaller scale, but had it all and a lot of surprisingly good products and deals. The first thing you will notice when you walk in is the fresh smell of bread (at the right time that is) of their bakery to the right. VAST assortment of baked goods from some of the best grocery croissants, loafs, rolls, buns. It also has pretzels, sweets (egg custards as well) and even some unique items like their cheese pepperoni bread. The vegetables and fruit are good and fresh for the most part. This store has meats, whether packaged or deli. Wide variety of cheeses, dips, sauces that you won't find elsewhere. The best thing about this store are the prices and unique items, while still maintaining the everyday brands we're used to. Plus are the plants and flowers. Unfortunately, have to downgrade my rating here, even though I am a regular customer. Everything about the food available in the store, the prices, quality of the produce is fine and on par with other Lidl's I have been to. However, this store is notorious for having 1 check out line open, and either just one or none of the self checkouts operating. Because of this, you'll spend far more time waiting to check out than you need to, even if you just have a few things. I have seen so many customers frustrated by this, including myself. I understand part of the business model is to run the grocery store on a skeleton crew that spends as much time as possible stocking shelves if they aren't needed to check out. However, that means if you've just got one lane open, your self check-outs need to be operational. The ones here have not been working at all, or just one, for more than a month now, going on two. Photo for reference. So, if management reads this. Please get this fixed. There is no reason for the giant bottleneck at the end of the store that creeps up the drink aisle. read more

I first encountered this chain while in Ireland several years ago and before they began to open locations in the Southeast. I was so exited when stores started to open in NC and it has become my go to grocery store for fruits/veggies, salmon, frozen veggies and delicious baked goods like crosaints and pizza bread. they also have a large section of clothing, homeware and other items like health and beauty. other great deals include espresso, wine, and diary products like oat and almond milk. I don't mind bringing my own bags and it is much cleaner than it's competitor Aldi. read more

To start with, I am a HUGE fan of Lidl. I often would drive from High Point to Thomasville to shop. Now that there's one on my way home, it's much easier. The bakery is so good - everything fresh and great specials in the evening: BOGO 1/2 off. The meats are butchered at a central butchery in Virginia and come vacuum packed cold and fresh to the store. Look for the Saturday and Sunday specials for deep discounts. The cheese selection is far better than Aldi's. The produce is always fresh and well maintained. and as my son says, Fresh Market quality at Aldi prices! For a new store, they have a few issues but the service is fantastic. The app wasn't working correctly so the manager ended up taking a bigger discount off than my coupon - and gave me flowers for my wife! Their frozen choices offer great seafood, vegan. and vegetarian choices and their milk and egg prices are the best around. Everyone is super friendly and their store brand kitchen gadgets are top-notch - love the sous vide cooker we got! Be careful of potholes in the entry road. Also it's bring your own bag/cold/hot pack. Makes for great shopping between Publix, Lidl, and Harris Teeter all so close! read more

Visited lidls in Greensboro, gate city Blvd. Store was clean and well organized. Beef selection is not what it used to be. Shopping experience was relaxing until I got to the register. Although the cashier was polite ( yes ma'am, etc ) I felt rushed and unappreciated. I was having trouble downloading the app and he didn't offer any assistance. Kept asking if I was using cash or card. He didn't thank me for my purchase just handed me the receipt and turned back to conversing with the associate at self checkout. When Lidl came to town I was hesitant cause I am all about Aldi and thought this would too upscale and priced for me. So NOT the case. Aldi is great but this has replaced Aldi for me. Why? 1. There is a rewards app. Earn dollars, percents, coupons off towards your order. I just got a coupon for free chocolate. (Win!) 2. The quality of food, especially produce is fresh and I haven't found any out of date or wilted veggies. 3. Self check out! Spacious enough for my very large tote bags on one side while I scan from the other side and I throw and go. 4. This has happened 3 times now- the employees have scanned a $10 off coupon for me. Wow! Kind souls! I love you! 5. I have gotten multiple floral arrangements here for great prices and quality. Mums, daisies, bulbs, etc etc. 6. I have gotten multiple quality items in the clearance sections. AND cases of certain domestics beer are always $13.99 that's the cheapest you'll find in town. Excellent experience at Lidl in its opening week! The store is well-laid out, so you are sure to hit every aisle and not miss anything. The gorgeous flowers and produce are the first things you'll see when you enter. The produce looked amazing. We found the perfect eggplant... and purchased it so that we could later stab and destroy its beauty... They carry several veggies that I've not seen before- interesting variety of squash. I am also a fan of their cheese selection. The fun holiday/seasonal food and gifts were out. Generally speaking, the prices are very reasonable and the food quality is pretty good. You can do a majority of your shopping here, with the exception of some specialty items and spices. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Definitely worth the drive if you are on the other side of Greensboro or Jamestown. read more

The people here are very nice and professional. I was told to come back the next morning for specific items and they would be in stock. Sure enough right after the opening the products were available! That is a necessary thing during this time. The store is clean and prices are competitive with store chains, but not quite like Aldi. I love the bakery - yum! I have not tried everything yet, but the chocolate chunk cookie is so good! I like their produce and the way it's organized. For example, you can buy a two-pack of red bell peppers only. Also, I bought some cilantro, which was already in a bag (similar to how baby carrots are bagged) for $0.79, and to my surprise, when I opened up the bag at home, there were 2 bunches!! Everything looked well-priced. Have not tried everything, but I loved all the vegetarian options that I saw. read more

I'm a bit of a fan of Lidl. I truly appreciate the low cost items and the variety of home goods. However on multiple occasions I have attempted to use Apple Pay and for some reason my transaction has been declined. Not only is this embarrassing this defeats my intentions of a touch less transaction. I thought the first time was a glitch but happened again leaving me irritated. This place offers the cheapest groceries and baked goods compared to other stores! The quality of some of the items in this store is honestly up there when compared to other stores despite being cheap. Alot of their food is fresh and taste really good, especially the bakery section. Would highly recommend if your on a budget and need to go food shopping.
