Even though it's a bit of a drive for us, Aldi's in Clemmons has become our go-to grocery store for staples. If you've never been, you owe it to yourself to go. Aldi's offers a nice variety of fresh produce, dairy items, cheese, meats, frozen foods, pantry items and other basic needs. Their regular prices are as low as you will find. Lower than Walmart but the quality of their products is above average. We've always been happy with everything we've purchased there. Aldi's has most everything you need to stock a basic kitchen, fridge and freezer. The store is clean and the staff is friendly. Save yourself some money and give this place a try. Don't be afraid of the off-brand items instead of the name brands. You'll be pleasantly surprised. read more

We usually shop Aldi because they do manage to keep prices down on most items. Everything looks clean and spacious. The layout varies slightly, but they have essentially the same offerings here as any other. The staff are fast and friendly at the checkout, too. We moved to the East coast (North Carolina) about two years ago and had only ever heard of Aldi's when we visited my mom in south central PA. We checked it out several years ago when visiting and were not impressed at the time. Since relocating we've noticed there are several in the Triad and multiple people have recommended we check out Aldi's. They told us they are happy with the selection and prices so we decided to stop in. Aldi's feels to have a robust store brand program. They have a lot of their own products which are usually less expensive than nationally branded products. They also have some national branded products but the offerings appear to be limited. Our first trip was a couple of weeks ago, we first looked through the produce offerings and were really impressed with the quality, selection and low prices. My wife found various berries, fruits and veggies. We made our way up and down the aisles and were equally impressed with the bread, chips/snacks, lunch meats, and frozen steam able veggies. The closest location to us is the Clemmons store and it appears to be clean and well organized. The checkout line moves fairly quick and we were in and out. There are a few catches. You need to bring your own bags. At the register, you put your items on the belt, they ring it up and put your items back into a cart. Then you have to bag them at the counter across from the registers. You can only get a cart if you put a quarter into the lock on the cart. When you return your cart and lock it, you can retrieve your quarter. They don't have cart runners collecting carts in the parking lot. We came back this weekend and again purchased several produce items, chips, snack bags, frozen veggies and this time we bought some steak. An example of the prices are as follows: Package of 8 tortillas: $1.99 9.5 oz bag of barbecue chips: $2.19 Steam able veggie bags: $.96 to $1.09 12 count of crescent rolls: $1.95 6 count of everything bagels: $1.95 Small package of blackberries: $1.95 Medium package of strawberries: $1.89 Meat lovers deli pizza: $7.19 We've really begun to like Aldi's and will continue to stop in when purchasing groceries for the week. Great prices for groceries and really good quality produce. The aisle of shame is always a blast. I've found everything from compost bins and bird feeders to kitchen gadgets and tools in that aisle. I have really grown to like Aldi. I use to get aggravated by needing a quarter for the damn shopping carts, paying for bags, and having mostly store brand products. I have since gotten over this. If you want to reduce you grocery bill, shop at Aldi. Most of the items are close or equivalent to national brands. Now, there are national brand items that I am not giving up (Coke, Bush's brands, etc.). I'll just get these from Walmart. Aldi has pickup (processed by Instacart). I have used it at this location several times. The web site is decent and easy to use. At the time of this review, they do not have an app for placing orders. The communication via text is very good. Every time I have ordered and selected a pickup time, my order is always ready early. Gives me the option of waiting or getting it earlier. Pickup is easy. Just pull into the 4-6 parking spaces designated for pickup (side of building). Using the link in the text message, just state you are there and give the color and description of your vechical. Mine is easy, its the F150 with the large truck nuts. Last bit of information. They do charge you for the bags, but it isn't much. You also do not tip for pickup. Last time I ordered for pickup, I was charged a $1.99 fee. read more

This is a newer Aldi located in Clemmons, North Carolina. It is in a strip center located just off of the main road and offers a lot of the usual stuff you will find in Aldi. I kind of have a love-hate relationship with Aldi. I almost consider them kind of like the Big Lots of supermarkets. While they carry their usual products, they also bring in some strange items but obviously they bought at a discounted price and now they are trying to resell to us. I would definitely recommend the bread at Aldi. For the price point, it is very good. I also like their potato chips. Again, for the price point, they are very good. I wish they would bring back their hot onion ring style potato chips oh, but so far they have not. All in all, I would definitely recommend this Aldi. read more

Very, very glad to finally have an Aldi location on the west side of Winston-Salem. As the store is new, I've found it to be very clean and well kept. The observant shopper can certainly find some deals here, though one shouldn't always assume that Aldi is cheaper than other area supermarkets on every item they offer. The Aldi model of maintaining stock can be a tiny bit frustrating though, as there are several items they'll carry periodically, and then those items will disappear. If you've never been to Aldi, your first visit will introduce you to several brands you've likely never heard of. From my experiences, the quality of these goods is on par with what you'd find in other national or regional brands. Do remember to bring some shopping bags of your own. I wish more stores used the Aldi model of shopping cart management. By requiring the deposit of a quarter to use a cart and only returning the coin when the cart is returned to its proper storage location at the store's front, there's no need for staff to go chasing carts out in the parking lot -- and that means staff can be devoted to stocking, running the checkout lanes, and keeping the store clean. The store is a welcome addition to the Clemmons area. Now if we could get a Lidl to add a bit more competition (and the on-site bakery)...! read more

Any Aldi beats any other chain grocery store. However I especially like this store because of its convenient location in Clemmons, store set up and the cleanliness. Shelves are well stocked and easy to locate items. I love the fact that there's usually one or two of the same item to choose from.....whereas at other grocery stores you have a million brands of the same item and for me it's over bearing. Prices are cheaper and the quality on meats and produce is definitely better in comparison to other grocery stores. Staff are usually pretty friendly and checkout lines are typically short and other checkouts are opened if there is a surge of people. Parking is another perk.....convenient and well kept of garbage and clutter. I used to go to the Aldi on Peters Creek in Winston. However this store has and remains my go to Aldi store since it opened its doors a year ago. read more

Great little Aldi just opened up where the old Kmart was. Really bringing this plaza back to life. Everything well lit, clean and organized. Aldi prices are welcome I'm a bunch of things. As always with Aldi's you must look at your produce well as they don't refrigerate their stuff so things like tomatoes do y always look good. Things are fresher though and bought a box of stuff while there. Bring a quarter if you need a shopping cart - returnable upon putting your cart back. Grab an empty box while shopping to put your stuff in or buy paper bags for 11 cents or bring reusable bags. Nice add Aldi! read more

Aldi. It's decent and inexpensive. They have a good variety to choose from, but make sure to look at the expiration date on certain things before buying. Sometimes it's either the same day or expired. The employees work extremely hard, but there aren't enough cashiers when it's busy and the line builds up from several different directions and becomes a little confusing. read more
