There are always fun things to try at Super G Mart. Today we came to restock our chili crisp and rice vinegar but left with a few other new things to try. One was the fun Korean drinks. They recently started stocking cups of ice so you can have a cold drink on the go. We tried the Melon Ade with Lychee jelly and it was really refreshing and delicious. I would definitely recommend giving some of the drinks a try the next time you stop in. We also tried a sweet cheese bar found in the refrigerated section. They had several flavors and we tried the coconut almond and chocolate caramel. I did not like the chocolate caramel at all but the coconut almond was really good. We have a few other items we are going to try later so I'll have to post more photos once I give them a try. read more

I love this international market with tons of products available and fresh produce at great prices. I can only find my favorite Peruvian food products and drinks at this place. The cashiers and staff are nice, and will point you to the right aisle every time. There is a seafood smell in that department area, but other than that the store is organized and clean. Plenty of parking available in the Fanta city shopping center. read more

This international market reminds me of a dive. They carry quite a few of international spices and sauces like Caribbean, Korean, Indian and much more. The prices are good on some things like the fresh parsley time etc but not on fruits and vegetables. My only concern was it the store need a deep cleaning and straighten up to make the shopping experience more pleasant. read more

This place is horrible. I do not criticize anyone or degrade any stores, but this place only carries old products. I bought kimchee and it tastes old already and I almost puked... And I also bought a frozen pork and some vegetables (broccoli and onions. The only thing it was eatable was, onions. All the rest of products were very bad. Store is very dirty with awful odor that almost got sick. I do not recommend this place to anyone unless they improve themselves to clean up and start carrying some newer items. read more

Great variety of vegan selections. Fresh seafood. I always find hard to find product in here!

Oh my goodness I couldn't believe how much of variety this store carries. We stopped in just for a peek while in the area and the store is located in a complex with other various ethnic businesses. Amazingly it doesn't look that big from the outside and even when you go inside it is a bit deceptive on its immense size until you get inside further. There was an extensive produce area with a lot of different types of fresh fruits and vegetables. Once you get deeper in a long refrigerated section runs along the wall for around 100 feet of various items. Then you come to a full service meat and fish area with a lot of different fresh fish on ice there. Within the store there are sections of different national groups of foods with aisles and aisles of items. So much that after an hour we felt we barely saw enough. This is a DEFINITE PLACE TO COME for anything unique you are searching to find, but you will likely walk away with things that you never knew existed. read more

This place was pretty amazing. If I need ingredients for Thai food, chinese, Japanese, etc, this is the place to go!! Their meat and fish seemed fresh. Their aisles packed full of so many different variations of so many different items. I bought Turkish delight coconut desserts and mochi desserts, and they were delicious. I even bought a pound of poblano peppers, they looked really great. Staff was great and the place was a little messy but only because they had so much and were in the middle of putting things away. read more

I guess someone read my review. The refrigerated food section is much improved! Thanks!

I went to this market to get ingredients for Lao Sausage. The produce section is well stocked, with practically everything you need for southeast Asian cooking. However, when I bought fresh chilli peppers, some were moldy. And so was my lemongrass, but I still could use most of it. Some of their vegetables and herbs could undeniably be more fresh. The store had an Asian section, and a mexican/African section, and the meat department was in between both. This store has different ailses for different cuisines, and I had a hard time finding Thai sticky rice because at first I didn't realize the store setup But, they did indeed have Thai sticky rice, though the selection wasn't great.(for sticky rice.) I even saw at the back of the store a little section for European refrigerated and non-regfrigerated items, and was pleasantly surprised to spot kvass(A fermented Slavic bread drink). The main complaint I have with this store, and the reason I didn't give it 5 stars was their meat selection is quite terrible. The meat(pork, beef, chicken), was not much to choose from, which is one of the main reasons I came to that store. Since this was an Asian and multicultural store, I specifically expected they would have animal parts that stores like Wal-Mart don't carry, such as pig ears and skin. But, their pork selection was even worse than Wal-Mart, and the meat looked old and it SMELLED. All meat smells, but ESPECIALLY there. Do NOT buy meat from that store and don't expect to find pig or cow parts if you need it for Lao or southeast Asian dishes in general. Ignoring the meat section, the store is actually pretty well stocked, and has lots of hidden gems. However, I'd like to make a note for anyone looking for specific items there. They don't carry sausage casings, I asked. And though they have a very good selection of Japanese glutinous rice that's easy to find, their Thai sticky rice selection is pretty bad, so I wouldn't actually go there to buy sticky rice. My mom kept saying the meat also looked like garbage and that the store was dirty, but I was so busy running around trying to find sticky rice that I wasn't paying attention to the stores cleanliness honestly So yeah! I would go here again, but absolutely not for meat. When I got to checkout, me and my mom saw a Jamaican man with a cart full of very oxidized and reeking oxtails and we were shocked that he would seriously buy those from super-G mart. read more

Today was supposed to be produce restock day and unfortunatly it wasn't. The persimmons were soft and mushy as were the green onions and several other veggies. I did manage to find some good Korean/taiwan cabbage though. They also had live blue crabs and I got some of those too. Overall a good place when the produce is fresh. You'll occasionally find expired canned items so be sure to check before you purchase. read more

Parking is a bit of a nightmare on the weekends. Plan your visit accordingly. There is a vast selection of fruits/vegetables, it would take some time to look through it all. This was a quick visit. They have a great selection of seasonings. I was so happy to see rows of Ramune and ramen. They had a huge selection of meats. Along the edge of the store, they had independent restaurants and shops. Checkout was very efficient and quick. . I will definitely pay this location another visit when I have more time. read more

There is really only one reason we will go here instead of Li Ming's is that Super G has fresh banana leaves. We use them on occasion, and this is the only place we know of to get them. Other than that, there are really no redeeming qualities IMHO. The parking lot is shared with a ton of other businesses, is small, and always full. The store itself hasn't been cleaned since the Stone Age. The floor tiles are falling apart, and the floor is dirty and littered. I don't think it has ever been cleaned. The aisles are tiny and cramped, the selection of food is minimal, and the cashiers are rude. When you check out, thete is a cashier and a bagger. They are almost always talk8ng to each other the entire time. The cashier will only speak to you to tell you your total and nothing more. Literally, she will look at you, say the amount, then return to her conversation with the bagger. It's been this way every time we go there. Unless you need banana leaves, avoid this place. read more

I enjoy shopping at Super G. I have never had a problem finding what I was looking for and usually find one or two items to purchase that I wasn't looking for. This Super G is similar to the one on Independence Blvd (not as open as the Pineville location). I am giving it four stars because parking was a problem. You may have to wait for someone to leave to park. It is a tight parking lot. In addition, I understood from a Yelp event that the same family owns all three locations. However, I was informed that I could not purchase a gift card here and use in Charlotte or Pineville. read more

I love Super Gmart! My family eats LOADS of Japanese/Chinese & Mexican food and if you can't find what you need for your meal here.... I don't know what to tell you. The largest of the numerous international markets in Greensboro. Located on market in a fairly large international shopping center, the G mart offers a LARGE variety of products and even services. Products includes meats (including packaged or pre-sliced cuts of meat for different bbqing, seafood (including fresh), produce, herbs, snacks, sauces, candies, drinks. - A great thing about this market is it is typically sectioned off between a country/ethnic group's products, ie Japanese, Chinese, Southeast & South Asian, African, as well as Mexican/Latin products. I like this market because of the size and variety of ingredients you can find, as well as just the exploration of another country's products that you will not find in normal grocers. What I'm not so fond of is that it is indeed large and with that, comes the amount of people and oft-pushiness of patrons. The parking itself is also pretty terrible as the lanes and even parking spots should be larger, especially with those that double park or speed in and out. Another con of having such a large store is finding a product when it is displaced and/or the inconsistency of a central location of a product as inventory is added/are purchased in high speed and volumes that restocking is merely finding an open spot somewhere else. As of today, within Super G is Gong Cha (drinks/boba/tea) & Chicken Bee. read more

Super G is the only store where you can get banana leaves. I used banana leaves to put food on to serve for a Filipino tradition called "Boodle Fight". Having some friends over on Saturday and want yo introduce them to the tradition. The parking lot is always full. The entrance's seen better days. There's litter everywhere. There's a good selection of produce and I even found raw peanuts that I usually boil myself. The aisles are smaller compared to other stores. The cashier wasn't friendly. There's also a small independent store inside that sells clothing, toys, etc that are made from China. Would I go back? Yes, to buy banana leaves again for another party! Lol read more

Super G Mart (aka Super Global Market) is unique store that has an abundance of food to choose from that's sourced from all around the world, along with a mini flea market and restaurant located inside! Their inventory is huge and includes a variety of fruits, vegetables, spices, dried goods, fresh seafood, meat, teas, canned goods, frozen foods, cookware, household items, etc. You name it, I guarantee they have it! When you first walk in you will be greeted by a variety of fruits, some of which are available to purchase in bulk. I think it's great that we have a store which such exotic choices! It's not often I see Durian, Mangosteen or Kiwano as a option. The seafood department can smell a bit fishy as you approach that section but thankfully it doesn't make its way across the whole store. It's just noticeable in that particular area. As you explore the aisles, you'll also notice some of the packaging is written in another language. There is usually English printed somewhere on the label, you might have to intentionally search though. I also love that they have Mochi in every flavor imaginable and fruit juices that include blends you would not find in an American grocery store. This is a fun market to visit overall, even if it's just to browse for inspiration and ideas. But more than likely you will walk out of the store with something fun to taste! read more

This place is a typical Asian market. I'm glad the prices didn't go up dramatically. Food and seafood are great here last year this year it didn't look too attractive. I don't know why. The employees likes to stare. Majority are not Asians . I believe their Hispanic . We always get our produce (bok choy, green beans, lemon, mango's and garlic. Grab some shrimps and fish to go fresh seafood. They have frozen too. They had some live blue crabs and assorted fishes.. My last several months experiences there have been eye opening. The prices are consistently high retail paired with very poor selections of what are relatively common in other stores. Starting in produce. The selection is sparse, expensive and in many cases old, even shriveled. I have found Leeks that were quite old with fresh one stacked on top. The staff in produce seems unfamiliar with common produce handling as well as rotating damaged/old stock out. They appear to simply stack on the shelf and move on. The "Deli". Again very limited selection and precut and packaged deli meats. A lack of knowledgeable employees extends to customer service also. The biggest failure appears ineffective or poorly trained management. It is generally a clean store and good parking. Yet those points dwindle in importance when you try to shop. In summary: If you are satisfied with prices disproportionate to the quality of many selections, then this is for you. If you are satisfied with prepackaged meats, then be happy. If you've driven this far I suggest that you keep on until you get to Lowe's Foods. You'll forget where Harris Teeter is. I did. read more

Super G Mart - Cracovia Syrups - Grocery Near Me - Greensboro, North Carolina

This is one of the most unique markets you will ever encounter--they have everything imaginable from many countries. I first came here on a mission to locate hard-to-find tropical fruits, as this Miami boy sometimes craves the flavors of home. And they do indeed carry many items you will have a difficult time finding above 27 degrees north latitude. Along with standard temperate fruits, I have seen jackfruit, durian, longan, guavas, quenepas, mamey, soursop, breadfruit, and every kind of banana (red, manzana, burro, Thai, etc) you can imagine. They have an array of tropical root crops, unique greens of every kind, and every gourd you never heard of. They have everything from coconuts in every stage of ripeness and undress to banana leaves. There are aisles and aisles of every conceivable snack food, and a stunning array of cold and frozen products as well. The meat department is something that will challenge the limits of credulity of some people, but I promise it's all there. In addition to standard (read "American") cuts of beef, pork, and chicken, Super G Mart caters to the honorable custom and tradition of letting nothing go to waste. Hence, you will find chicken feet plus bovine tongue to porcine bung and every organ and extremity of each in between (heart, stomach, snout, tongue, feet, testicles, uteri, etc.) Yes, uteri. I will spare you the photos. The fishmonger peddles a variety of fish that dwarfs that of any other shop in the area. In addition to all sorts of nekton, including, perch, red drum, and yellow tail snapper, they also feature unique benthos, including live blue crabs and live crayfish. It is simply impossible to adequately describe everything they have here. You could literally spend hours browsing about while getting both an education and entertainment. The floors are not as clean and pristine as your other chain grocery stores to be perfectly honest, but this place is definitely worth a visit. read more

First remember it's an Asian grocery. So there are a lot of sights and smells Americans are not used to as compared to mainstream grocery stores. It could appear clearer or smell better I am sure. But imagine you are in Asia going to the market on the street. They have a lot - really a lot of many things. They also have Mexican and Caribbean foods and spices. There is another type of organization there it isn't based on English language style. And there is no guide so patiently go through the aisles and read the signs above. Also if you don't see a product you are specifically looking for go look at The ends of the aisle infront of the butcher section or at the front of the store to the left of the registers. There are stacks of boxes and products. Asking for help you have 2 choices. Someone will speak English. You never know exactly who but just ask. They are fine w that. I had to special order a product and asked a cashier who told a manager. The helpfulness of the manager depends on which one you get. And remember they aren't being rude it's just English is not their first language. This store is still a treasure trove of exotic things. You just have to adjust your expectations. read more

This place is so cool - a foodie's enthic dream come true especially as to Mexican and Asian food items - fresh, canned, and packaged. This is a place you should come to with a specific list of items you need for a recipe or things you specifically want to try, otherwise you will end up with a hodge podge of items with no plan for a meal or a dish. The produce is amazing - fresh, varied, unique, and generally inexpensive. I bought 10 limes for 99 CENTS - and these are regular sized, tasty, and juicy. 6 lemons for $1,98. Apricots (June is the best month for them), yellow plantains (also have green ones), all kinds of onions, and much more. The meat available covers the whole animal, whatever animal you choose - it is all there - inside parts, outside parts, unknown parts. Goat on the bone (makes great curry), beef ribs cut oriental style for BBQ, tripe, liver, hearts, and a great selection of fish - although the smell back in that section is a little bit of a turn off. Huge selection of sauces and spices, canned items, even some frozen stuff. Dozens of oriental noodles, some just noodles, some prepared as noodle bowls, etc. They even carry Carolina Pride lunch meats - they are the folks out of the Raleigh area that produce a version of the neon red weiner so popular in some hot dog stands. Good service, friendly folks here, as well. read more

Best Asian market I've found in the area. Although really it's so much more international than that. I call it the Asian/Latino market, and it has also an aisle of European and one of Middle Eastern items. And it's always so much fun to bring white people! I'm ABC, so I grew up going to the Asian market and pointing out the dried squid, etc. Today's "find" was the whole goat head in the meat section. The produce section is beyond compare and super super high value. I was there with a group of ladies after they discovered the wonders of mung bean beansprouts at the pho place. But none of us needed a whole bag. Ended up splitting a $1.78 bag 4 ways, and we each walk away with half a pound of beansprouts. It can be a little overwhelming for sheer size and because of relative lack of printed English. But it's just fun. One lady called it a field trip into a cooking program. read more

Any time I am in Greensboro and have some extra time, I hit up the Super G Mart. Rice, spices, noodles, tea -- Asian, Mexican, Indian, African. All the good ethnic food supplies. One star deduction because when I checked in on Yelp it said I could get a free 3 litre bottle of water with a $50 purchase and the cashier said that was no longer valid, that it had to be a $100 purchase. My wife and I headed out for a little exploring this afternoon. We had heard that Super G Mart was the most unique Asian market in the Triad. After visiting, I think that moniker was quite right. I am not well versed in the ingredients needed to prepare: Thai, Korean, Japanese or Traditional Chinese dishes but I suspect that most are offered here. There was a very large international produce section, an exhaustive array orpork, poultry and a huge fish market. People shopping there were in highest concentration in the fish market and produce sections. Super G offers about 75 different 10 to fifty pound bags of rice from all over the World. I selected a grade of four stars because the items I was familiar with all looked to be premium priced. It was a fun stop. read more

I would give them 5 stars if they were better organized. (ha!) I found tea in 3 different locations and bottled drinks in at least 2. So, just because you don't see something immediately doesn't mean they don't have it. And they do have everything. If you need an ingredient you can't find at Food Lion, they will have it. If you want to pay less for more spices, they have it. Everything from fresh produce to cooking utensils. (If you are a fan of mushrooms, they have a greater variety of fresh than I have EVER seen.) Covid precautions were pretty standard. Everyone was masked and distancing was practiced. There is sanitizer at the checkouts and by the door. They have plexiglass barriers at the check out. They don't have single direction aisles. But, there's enough room for that not to be a real issue. read more

Well, it's large, I'll give them that. But poorly organized and worse, very often the prices aren't marked, or are incorrectly marked, so you might get an unpleasant surprise when checking out e.g. an item marked $4.99 on the shelf was really $12.99. Another day I'd have put it back but... ...sometimes the checkout lines get long, snaking down the aisle, so when you shop makes a difference. Prices (when they're shown) are variable, some good, other things (like chilli sauce) can often be found cheaper elsewhere. It's also not the cleanest place. Things are getting more lax now (May '21) but social distancing of any kind was non-existent. But it is large, so there's that. read more

I like Super G Mart! Some items found here, can't be found anywhere else in the area. The only thing I stay clear of is the fish. I've purchased fish here on a couple of occasions, and while it wasn't bad, the freshness was questionable. The meat section has the cheapest prices it town, and while the cuts aren't the best, they are good enough for this guy! The produce section is filled with a plethora of options. Super G - what an unusual, interesting, eye-opening experience. In a nutshell it's an international market. But that covers about 10% of the experience of Super G market. And if you ever wanted to eat 1,000 of something in one sitting, they have more styles, flavors, presentations of rice than anywhere I've ever seen. We've spent hours in here just browsing up and down the aisles being amazed at the things we never thought someone would put in a package. - 1 star for cleanliness, be careful when picking over fresh fruit and veggies.
