There's not much to be said about Trader Joe's. The experience is top-tier and the food is consistently good. They stand by their products an offer a money back guarantee which is reassuring since food is so expensive. I have never had to use it though because I've never had anything bad from the grocery store. On this particular day, Friday, I visited with some friends who had never been before. It was busy, but the staff was very helpful and friendly and efficient. Our wait time in line was minimal and I was able to grab a few new products that I haven't seen before. My girlfriend and I are here literally every weekend. She will always find an excuse to come to trader Joe's and i am always down. I enjoy that it is a bit smaller and low key. Everyone who works there seems like they have fun, and the selections are unique and often delicious. I didnt take a picture of it but if you get a chance to try their peanut butter and jelly beer then do it! It was amazing! I did, however, take a picture of the peonies I got my girl. One of my coworkers told me about this grocery store. I didn't know much about it but assumed it was an expensive store. I was so wrong. I love their Hey Y'all above the entrance after you're inside because that's my language. As you walk in, there are so many different flower bundles. All of them were reasonably priced and ranged from $6-$19 depending on size and flower types. Then I felt this sense of familiarity. Everyone was so nice and happy. There were a couple of times that I saw people just talking about what they were purchasing. This contributed to some of the areas being congested. But no one had an attitude or made us feel rushed. Because let's be real, I felt like I was sightseeing because I was taking it all in. We went down all the aisles minus the wine section. We went to the registers with our purchases and we had some unique things that we haven't purchased before like fresh pizza dough, salted caramel biscotti, guava flavored kombucha, potstickers etc. At the registers, my husband commented on how we stepped out of the box with our purchases. And he was right, but I felt like I could because it was affordable to do so. Overall, I really enjoyed this store. What impressed me the most were two things. One was the variety of nuts. We love nuts in our house but get so frustrated with buying those expensive snack size cans that don't last one day. But Trader Joe's has so many types and the prices didn't make me freak out. The other was the variety of pre-seasoned marinated fresh chicken. I spent about 10-15 minutes just in awe of the options. Was in the area, and decided to swing into Trader Joes Greensboro and pick up some goodies. It's a great spot to find hard to find items, at a great price but also some Trader Joe specific items. Upon walking in, I found some great flowers my wife would enjoy. Also picked up some shaved beef to make some Philly cheese steaks this weekend...hands down this is the best quality of meet I've found at local stores for a reasonable price to make some damn good Phillies. The staff at this store like all others is top notch, friendly and happy to help. I normally hate grocery shopping but I love going to Trader Joe's. Even when it's super busy it's still a pleasant experience and just good vibes here. Love the little sample station in the back, and the last couple times I've been there's even wine samples in the store. All the employees are friendly and helpful. Trader joes has a lot of pluses with few minuses. We do not go here for our weekly staple products. But, we do go every few weeks. Pluses: Selection - They have food that you won't find in other places. The fact that much of it is their label might have something to do with that . Usually, my wife and I will pick out a few items for ourselves. Then, we will have them for lunch throughout the week or for dinner if we're feeling lazy. Usually, there are leftovers, and we have a snack the next day. Flowers - The selection of flowers and the super low prices are crazy! They also have a LOT of filler materials. This is the only place we buy flowers now. Sometimes I'll just grab a lot of stuff and my wife will make arrangements throughout the house. Speedy Lines - The place is crowded, but they always have all of the registers open and the lines are fast. Plus, there are usually no more than 1 or 2 people ahead of you, even during peak times. They have Chik-fil-A efficiency in their checkout process! Minuses: As just mentioned, the place tends to be crowded. Plus, it's small, which exacerbates things. That is really my only complaint. I am obsessed with this store! All the stories about their frozen meals are true. It is incomparable to any other grocery frozen meals. The orange chicken is always a classic, I pop them in the air fryer as opposed to pan frying, and mmmmm, they are so good. On occasion, I also substitute the orange sauce for their general tsos sauce, and it's a nice little kick. I am a big fan of their honey shrimp in the frozen section, and the soup dumplings are to die for! Throw a little of the crunchy oil on top, and it's the perfect blend of savory with a little kick! I constantly check the shelves for snack foods because they have the most original options. Right now I am loving the new spicy tempura seaweed chips. The decor is so cute and eclectic, and I love how they ensure it's authentic to the city. The staff is always wonderful, and I will always support a store that utilizes people instead of technology. Always love Trader Joe's and the one in Greensboro doesn't disappoint! The employees are amazing - always happy, so kind and willing to lean in to answer any question you may have. Parking lots is a cluster, thanks biscuitville and Chick Fil A but we try and go during non peak hours (weekdays and early mornings). I used to think Trader Joe's was overrated and gimmicky...until I had an actual grocery trip (before I only stepped in to see the hype). But once I thoroughly looked at/reviewed the products and bought some and ate, I was convinced the hype was real. Quality goods, produce, meat, deli selections that cater to most people's needs (ie gluten-free/keto/allergens..etc). Most of the produce comes in its own containers, good selection of meats (though can get pricy), but most importantly they are healthy products...for the most part. Good international finds are a plus and they do the respective cuisines justice. Staff is friendly and I can't speak for all locations, but this Battleground location almost always has the item I need in stock. I've returned many times since and the best part are the new finds. I want to know why all the milk on the shelves is within 2-3 days of expiring. When I asked a lady with glasses she said because the food they carry is without preservatives lol. If I'm buying dairy, I expect for it to be able to last me through at least half of a work week. The quality in this location is not what it used to be. Better go to Whole Foods or the Trader in Winston Salem. I will def go out of my way for fresher groceries. First time I went to Trader Joe's was 3 months ago and I am so sad I waited so long! They have unique hidden seasonal gems! I go there every few weeks to get fresh flowers as they last 10-14 days and look so beautiful! For a bouquet of flowers it's like $12 which is crazy cheap! I was so excited when TJs opened their Brassfield location as I had only been to TJs in Chapel Hill once and had heard so much hype I couldn't wait to visit. The employees here are extremely friendly and helpful, every one of them. The selection of frozen foods is impressive. Just about anything you can imagine is there for the picking. The cheese section is incredible with prices lower than any of their competitors, like a few dollars lower. Burrata is $4 less than HT! My only complaint is the produce. We love every single TJ locations that we've ever been to but beware of the free lollipop area of this location, if you do shop with the little ones. There were 2 lollipop patrollers here. When the little ones came over to pick out a lollipop, the patrollers were in line and in their very stern tones, taking turn telling the kiddos to only take one. Honestly, I didn't think that they were there to take the whole thing. Guess there's no shortage of labor after all. Suggestion, lock up the lollipops or have a lollipop person stand on the middle of the store to hand out. By far the best grocery store in the area. The produce prices are great, with very fresh items that don't look like they've sat there for days. Staff are the friendliest people you will ever meet. They also work very hard as you will see them constantly restocking or helping customers continually. The store is well organized with clearly visible labels. Honestly, Trader Joe's is my favorite grocery store. They don't have your standard brands, but the Trader Joe's brands are just as good if not better. I love their selection of fresh produce and frozen items, oh and spectacular coffee! Their prices are incredible as most items are organic and I can appreciate that! They have items that my two picky toddlers really love and that's life saving for me as a single momma! One of my favorite things about Trader Joe's is their customer service. I truly love this store. Surprisingly not as busy nowadays within the past couple of years as far as how hectic and packed (with lines, also due to COVID) that it was. It's very easy to get in and out, if you know exactly what you're getting that is! But if you like to browse and check out their offerings of very good, organic, and healthy items then this is the place for that. For the most part, their pre-made foods and snacks are good in my book. There have been some misses where the recipes are way off from the original but most others are delicious. I always thought of Trader Joe's as a California thing. Over the years when I have headed west to visit friends in San Francisco or LA or San Diego, one of my favorite stops while visiting was the local Trader Joe's. Everything looked alien to me but healthy and fresh and unique and reasonably priced. I would buy a small item to stick in my suitcase to bring back to Greensboro and that was the extent of it. After all of the hullabaloo of where a Greensboro Trader Joe's would be placed, it settled at the Brassfield Shopping Center where Stein Mart used to be. Shortly before the pandemic I decided to give it a shot and I must say I went there with the wrong frame of mind. I was looking for all of my regular groceries that I find at Harris Teeter or Food Lion and they were nowhere to be found. I remember thinking this place will never do because it doesn't have most of my staples, and so I bought some tzatziki and headed home. Jump ahead a year, and after being cooped up at my house forever, I decided yesterday morning with two vaccines in my arm and two weeks passed for it to take full effect, it was time for me to start living again. I hopped in my car and headed up Battleground to Trader Joe's with a different frame of mind. Have fun, don't expect to find all your staples but explore what they do have to offer and enjoy what you discover and celebrate that you are now going inside a store!! Folks, I had a ball! That store is so unique. You see things you don't see anywhere else whether it be meats or produce or toiletries. I know people must have thought I was crazy wandering up and down the aisles whipping out my Weight Watchers app on my phone to see how many points each thing was. To my delight, several of their spreads were low in calories and fat and quite nutritious. I particularly have to give a shout out to their Eggplant and Garlic Red Pepper spread and Kale and Spinach Greek Yogurt Dip. OMG!!! I came home and spread them on some crackers and had to stop myself from devouring the whole container. Boy are they delicious!! I got a kick out of their old fashioned style toiletries and at some point I need to try some of them as well. I realized on this visit how health-conscious Trader Joe's is and how environmentally sensitive they are. All of their products lean towards being healthy and delicious and you even leave with paper bags that can be recycled. I headed home with a big smile on my face. I was finally able to walk into a store without being afraid I'm going to contract the virus and die. When I got home, I had a ball sampling all of my new finds from cauliflower rice to healthy burritos. So today I head to Harris Teeter for my Diet Coke, sugar free ice cream and Joseph's bread and the roast chicken special to round out my needs for the week. It's not like I have too much to do with half the world still shut down? In the meantime, I've got to go. My New York bagel just toasted and I'm having a cup of Trader Joe's coffee with that delicious Eggplant Garlic spread on my bagel. The NICEST staff ever!! this is by far one of my favorite trader joe's i've ever gone to. The staff are all so kind, they all take time to converse with my husband, my toddler, and I. We now see them regularly and it's always pleasant experience. The store itself is always clean, well kept, and organized. Everything as per usual at Trader Joe's is decently priced. At long last Greensboro has a Trader Joe's! Having never been to a Trader Joe's, I didn't appreciate the wild enthusiasm for the chain. It didn't take me long to get it. This is an amazing grocery store. It is not a Harris Teeter or other large grocery with a broad range of food and sundries. Trader Joe's is more of a specialty store known for great quality pre-packaged food at excellent prices. They have good looking produce, excellent cheeses, dairy, etc as well. I went in to explore and to pick up a couple items and came out with a full shopping cart! What impressed me the most were the employees. This is a new store, yet the employees know their products! Trader Joe's does an amazing job of training their employees to make the customer experience unequaled. This day and age, that is very rare! Dude!! I heart TJ's and each time I get close to a city, I make it a point to go. I recommend you go too, especially if you live in a barren wasteland where TJ's does not exist. If you work in customer service and your service is suffering, go on a field trip with your staff and have them observe the TJ employees. I was simply commenting to my hubby about how they must be out of the cold brew instant coffee (which I highly recommend unless I have to fight you for the last one). A sweet employee, called Abigail, swooped in and went to go look for it with me, then checked the inventory, offered to call a nearby store and informed me that they could always reserve some for me when more comes in. Wait...she responded to me, took multiple actions and anticipated my needs. Whoop there it is! That's above and beyond customer service and that's why TJ's are so popular. Plus, she interacted with my daughter and told her what their store mascot was so she could find it and get a sucker Yes, each store has a mascot and it's hidden in the store. You mean they even have a great distraction tool for parents? Yup! So you have friendly, helpful and happy employees. You have great options for fresh produce, meat, cheese, gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, seasonal, flowers, plants, cleaning products, pet food, beauty products, vitamins....what's not to love? 5 stars for this brand new Trader Joe's in Greensboro, conveniently located off Battleground near 73 and other major highways. This particular location has only been open for three weeks; during the first grand opening week, I did hear that they did run out of a lot of popular items very quickly but that is to be expected. They must have ironed out all of those pre-opening kinks because my experience today was top-notch today! It's Thanksgiving week and they were fully stocked and ready to go; lots of festive holiday displays and between the poinsettias & cinnamon sticks as soon as you walk in, the place smelled amazing! I had a great time cruising around, checking everything out and I'm pleased to report that it's the same layout as the Winston-Salem store, so I was able to locate everything on my list very easily. Today I purchased cherry tomatoes, arugula, grilled chicken strips, a frozen Indian meal, s'mores, milk chocolate bars, dark chocolate covered marshmallows, ginger snaps, vanilla meringues, two kinds of cheddar cheese, sparkling apple cider, 2 bottles of Charles Shaw wine ($2.99!) and a few greeting cards. Checkout was a breeze; the employee that checked me out and the employee who was bagging my items were both extremely friendly and fun to chat with. Definitely worth the 30 minute drive from where I live (out in the country in the middle of nowhere lol). Wonderful experience all around so thank you Trader Joe's! read more
